Blood Fury MC #4

Blood & Bones: Deacon

Rate this book
Sometimes a challenge comes along that can either make or break you...

Deacon has a great life. A loyal brotherhood within the Blood Fury MC. A successful bail bonds business he runs with his cousin, Judge. A faithful dog. He’s also an expert at seducing the ladies. He’s got the looks. He’s got the charm. And he’s got the skill.

Or at least he thought he did. Until he met his match. A woman who not only resists him, but challenges him at every turn.

As an expert bounty hunter, he’s been hired to capture a violent fugitive. Dealing with a dangerous man is one thing, but dealing with a stubborn woman is quite another. And the victim just happens to be her younger sister.

For Deacon, winning over a woman has never been this difficult. The more she fights his “charm,” the more determined he is not to give up. This is one war he can’t afford to lose, not only for her, but with locating the fugitive before he finds his victim.

It’s a challenge he’s willing to take on, as long as it doesn’t destroy him first.

Note: Blood & Bones: Deacon is the fourth book in the Blood Fury MC series. As always, this book has no cheating, no cliffhanger and has an HEA. It’s recommended to read this series in order.

Give me more please!!! I loved that we finally got to Deacon's book after his constant appearance in Judge's. Jeanne St. James set it up perfectly for the other characters stories to be told in the future. I am very interested to see what happens with Reilly.

Loved Deacon!

I have been looking forward to Deacon's story bc he was a trip in previous books. Deacon runs the bail bondsman business with his cousin Judge and is known for his tracking skills. When a dangerous man skips on his bond Deacon is called in to help. He is not expecting to meet a beautiful and confident blonde bombshell who is as stubborn as a mule. Reese has taken care of her little sister her whole life. So when her sister needs to lay low from her crazy ex she lets her stay with her. Deacon and Reese's chemistry is off the charts. For the first time Deacon finds himself wanting a woman for more than sex. But he soon discovers what it feels like to used and doesn't like it at all. I really enjoyed this book and seeing a more vulnerable side of Deke. I love the Blood Fury MC and I can't wait for the next book!

Jeanne St James writes amazing characters and the world building is fantastic. I have been so looking forward to Deacon and I couldn’t put him down. He’s effortlessly an amazing alpha-hole. I wish some of her alphas were a bit more discriminating in their sexual partners and their many sexual exploits gets a bit repetitious. But it is a biker book and I should know what I’m getting myself into - lots of bodily fluids and interchangeable women. Sometimes I get an “eww factor” but it’s usually laughed off and there’s plenty of humor in this one. And Deacon, once he meets Reese, is as loyal as his faithful hound, Justice. And he is so patient with Reese even when I wanted to slap her silly. There’s something so satisfying about a reformed manw$ore. Some of my favorite scenes are the clubhouse parties - there’s always drama. Reese is a tough chick and while I’m not really a fan of the hard, emotionally closed off heroine, but she doesn’t put up too much of a fight when she meets the awesomeness of Deacon. Her backstory also makes complete sense for how she acts now. I wish there were more from other secondary characters because I love hearing about their lives and interactions. The plot line is intriguing and we get even more characters to add to this world and, hopefully, new stories to tell. I was sad it ended - I wanted more Deacon and Reese and that’s a five-star book for me.

I think what I liked about this one most was that Reese was a hard nut to crack for Deke. Right from the start she was having none of his shit and let him know that. Later when Reese learned they had the same mission, she let Deke help, but it was with protest. Even then there were clear boundaries, for every step forward Deke took, he had to take 2 steps back. Seeing how life was at the Barn was eye opening for Reese! It really made her start to build those walls, despite seeing the good. Of course Reese ran at the end and Deke really needed to let her go. Reese needed the time to figure some things out in her head. By the time that Deke showed up at her house, she was more than ready to talk and they came up with a great compromise to both being able to keep their lives and still be a couple.

Good story hated the heroine

As usual this was a very good story. I have been looking forward to Deacon’s story. The heroine Reese was just not a likable person/character. She just didn’t seem as vested in the relationship.

The author make a point about women being viewed differently when they are most career oriented but this chick was devoid of feelings for me. It was always about control even her relationship with her sister was more about her sacrifice than their bond. This one just didn’t do it for me.

This book! I loved it so much! Deacon and his cousin Judge own Justice Bail Bonds. Deacon is a bail bondsman, skip tracer, bounty hunter and a playboy. He knows he’s good looking with his Viking good looks and bad boy persona and has no problem finding short term entertainment. With his dog Justice by his side he lives life on his own terms. When he’s asked to find a fugitive he assumes it will be a quick way to earn some “scratch” what he didn’t expect was Reece. Reece is a very driven, career focused woman. At 10 years old she was responsible for raising and taking car of her baby sister because their drunken mother couldn’t be bothered. When her sister is severely beaten by a man who stole everything from her Reece does what she does best, takes care of her sister. When Deacon comes around asking questions Reece goes into uber protective mode. Realizing that Deacon is their only chance at being safe Reece agrees you his terms. Deacon is not prepared for Reece, the tables are turned on the playboy and he’s not to sure he like that, at all! I loved that Reece was using him like he’s used women for years. Don’t get me wrong, Deacon is a good guy, he lives his family and club and would do anything for them. What he is t prepared for are the feelings he starts to have for Reece, and she quite obviously doesn’t have them for him. The longer they “use” each other, the more the feeling develop, even for Reece who is an expert at not showing her feelings. When Deacon lays it on the line Reece has to decide if she can loosen some of the iron grip she keeps on herself and let someone in.
Another fantastic book from JSJ!

With his dog by his side, Deacon's job as a bounty hunter always seems to be grab him and go, never taking too much time to get the job done. When a fugitive is on the run and there is a helpless woman in his sights, Deacon will do whatever it takes to bring the man down. But what he did not expect was the tough as nails sister Reece who challenges him at every turn of the page. Can the two who seem to be at each other's throats find their way to not only work together but also fall in love? Will Deacon open his heart and his life within the brotherhood to connect with someone outside of the norm? Once again Jeanne St. James takes her tough, alpha characters and pairs them with the perfect female. She has a knack for intertwining the bold with the beautiful. Another perfect combination in another wonderful addition to the series.

I would have enjoyed this a lot more if everyone hadn't been trying to change the FMC. I'm not sure why there is this stigma around not liking to party, get drunk, and sleep with random people, but it got annoying. She wasn't telling anyone else they were bad. She just didn't want to participate. And Reilly got the privilege of being the fun one because she never had to be the responsible one.
If Deacon had such an issue with her then he could have moved on like he did with every other woman. It irritated me so much that he has the audacity to be hurt over her just wanting sex when he had done that for years. Turn about is fair play, bro.
The romance was pretty open ended which was good because these two kinda suck together. There just didn't seem to be a genuine connection and they had absolutely nothing in common. The others all seemed to complete or heal each other in some way. These two don't even seem to like each other.

Jeanne St. James has done it again. Ok, first off, I’m loving this series, it just keeps getting better. Secondly, Deacon didn’t quite knock Judge off “my favorite biker in the Blood Fury” pedestal but he’s definitely standing side by side with him. Deacon is hilarious, irreverent and so full of himself. But at the same time he’s sweet and caring and loyal and determined...you get my meaning. Even at his worse, that idiocy would never overshadow all the good in him. Reese would almost be his polar opposite in so many ways but she’s also caring and loyal and loves her family and ultimately finds it fairly easy to love a rough around the edges but oh so amazing Viking. Loved this book, loved Deacon and Reese and loved the glimpse we got of the guys and significant others. Waiting patiently for the continuation of this series and am a little impatiently waiting for Shade. I have a feeling his story will be epic! Read Deacon and if you haven’t already, read the other books first, you won’t regret it!

Deacon is living his life on his terms as he is part of the brotherhood of the Blood Fury MC, enjoys the freedom of being single and has his career as a bounty hunter. When his latest assignment has his world colliding with Reese’s their lives are about to change.

Reese is a lawyer who learnt from a young age that the only one she can depend on is herself. She would do anything for her sister she will do whatever is necessary to protect her even if it means working with Deacon.

From their first meeting the chemistry between them is electric but Reese isn’t about to just become the next woman he loves and leaves so it will take everything that Deacon has to convince her that she can trust him with her heart and her life.

I have been a fan of this author since I first discovered her. She creates interconnected standalones better than just about anyone in MC romance. Finishing the last series was bittersweet because they had all become like family. This series is turning out the same way. I find myself wanting all the side characters to get their own story.

This is still a grittier series than the other series and I find that I'm liking that. Great details in the scenes and characteristics that allow me to play the book like a movie in my head. Highly recommend Deacon and Reece's story. I hope Reilly gets a story too.

I love Judge and Deacon a lot and love the fact they got their stories back to back. We got more of an insight to Deacon in Judge's book that left me wanting more. And of course one cannot forget the appearances of Justice.

You can definitely say Deacon has the looks, the skill and the charm. Until he meets his match in dealing with a stubborn woman.

Of course sparks fly between Deacon and Reese but she is definitely a hard nut for Decon to crack and she gives him a run for his money. I love the fact she also gives him a taste of his own medicine.

This was as always a perfect edition to the Blood & Bones series.

Love the series

Love this series, but not necessarily this book. I wasn't as big a fan of Deacon as the rest of the "brothers" before this book, but do like him more after. I just could not make myself like Reece. I did not dislike her, she was just truly forgettable and still stuck-up at the end of the story.

I liked this story. When I finished the book, I found myself smiling. There’s a lot to like. And enjoy. It’s a story about Deacon Edwards and Reese Ackerson who meet when Deacon is hunting for Billy Warren, the man who beat up and stole from Reese’s sister, Reilly.

The story is formulaic and completely unoriginal. It devotes a prologue to the relationship between Deacon and his cousin, Judd. Once grown, they form Justice Bail Bonds together. All too soon, we are given a view of Deacon who is the typical biker womanizer who has little time for anything except the pursuit of pleasures in his life. As usual, he has his pick of women and yet he is stunned when he meets the gorgeous (well, of course) Reese.

What sets this book apart is the characters. This book is character-driven, rather than motivated by plot. Deacon is a pretty simple character and easy to like. Reese is much more complicated and wonderfully resistant to the rock-hard Deacon. Her past is practically impenetrable and comes to light in bits and pieces until she finally relents and tells him her history. Reilly is the care-free sister, raised by Reese, who embraces life even after having been hospitalized from being beaten senseless by Billy Warren.

William “Billy” Warren is a well-crafted villain. He is an unremitting personification of evil and shows us not a hint, not a scintilla, of remorse for his actions against women.

Supporting characters include the Blood & Bones MC brothers, their women, and a few townspeople who serve as auxiliary witnesses to the personalities and characters of the protagonists. They are devices in the story yet are still well-rounded. The bartender, for instance, at the Mill Creek Bar & Grill, goes by the unlikely name of Bambi and she is aptly named. She serves a dual purpose of highlighting Deacon’s usual womanizing style and of getting Reese and Deacon to meet. It was an unsuccessful first meeting, but memorable.

It is interesting to watch the relationship between Reese and Deacon grow. It progresses slowly and the writer allows us to see it morph and become something substantial. Reese is strong but not impervious to Deacon’s charm. She maintains her sense of self even while growing into a deeper connection with Deacon. And Deacon is not immune to Reese’s forceful personality. They clash over and over, and work through it time and again.

The book is well written and easy to read. It moves quickly and serves as an excellent example of how an old, tired plot can be given new life by populating it with people who seem real and three-dimensional. Not to mention a good writing style.

I rated this book 4.5 stars and rounded up because it was so well written, and the characters are well defined and remain memorable.

Another winner from Jeanne St. James. Deacon another hot, alpha, badass biker is set to win you over. If you love good bad boys and MC romance you can't go wrong with any of the Blood Fury MC. It has a little suspense, drama, some laughs and enough steamy scenes to make you want your own MC man.

Deacon doesn't do more than one night, maybe two or three if the sex is good enough and he's usually a dick about it when he walks away. That keeps the girls from getting the idea that they can convince him to want more from them. When a new job sends him to a town close by Manning Grove to look for a bail jumper he's not ready to get a taste of his own medicine. When he meets Resse in a bar he has no idea how connected she is to his current job. The fact she blew him off usually wouldn't bother him, there are always more fish in the sea, but something about her has him off his game he's about to find out how much the game has changed.

Reese works hard... and that's it. She doesn't have time for friends or hobbies or anything. The only she has ever cared about is her sister. Her failed marriage proves she doesn't need a man to be happy, she can make herself 'happy' when the need arises. Now though she's got a whole new problem, after her sister is beaten by her ex and he's now skipped out on his parole chances are he's coming to find Reily and finish the job. Reese will do anything to protect her, including letting the sexy as sin Deacon into her home while he sends Reily away for her protection. She won't let him send her away though. This is her life and her home and she has worked damn hard to get where she is. But is she truly happy where she is and how on earth would someone like Deacon even fit into her life? She doesn't need him but she wants him, at least for now.

When the threat gets too close for comfort Reese lets down her walls and Deacon is there to catch her as she falls. Whether she wants to admit it or not, she's falling for him and can't seem to see how that is good for her or Reily. But when all is said and done with Riely's ex will she stay by Deacon's side or run back to her work, because that's all she has waiting for her.

Happy Reading
Enjoy your next escape :)

In exchange for an honest review, I received a complementary copy of Deacon by Jeanne St. James. The views and opinions in this review are my honest thoughts and rating.
Deacon is used to getting sex everywhere he goes. One look from the bad boy has the women dropping their phone numbers and panties in his lap. He doesn't let it get in the way of his job as a bailsbondsman. Once his work is done, the playtime begins..
Reese has had to be an adult at an age when most were kids enjoying their adolescence. Raising her sister when her mom wasn't capable set Reese on a path of determination and dedication as her and her sister scraped their way from the bottom of hell and into a more comfortabl world..
When Reese’s sister ends up in a harmful situation, Reese brings her sister under her wing once again to protect her from more harm. When she sees the dangerous viking lookalike searching for her sister, Reese knows her protection isn't going to be as smooth as she had hoped..
From the first moment that Deacon met Reese, he knew she was not like the typical woman who gave up their panties for him. With a wicked grin, he slowly began to reel the sexy lawyer in until the passion exploded and their carnal instinct kicked in. But once Reese's sister is safe, will Deacon go back to being the man he was or has he found the one woman who can hold his interest for longer than a few days?
As usual, when it comes to Jeanne St. James it is an instant read for me. She always has a way of integrating the characters into your heart and life. You begin to see the characters as real people and the emotional turmoil Reese and Deacon go through is no different. Blood Fury MC: Deacon is one hell of a ride. Deacon is so dominant but also is so smooth and smart that he can see what a bad@ss powerhouse Reese is. I absolutely loved how strong and independent St. James portrayed Reese as. The way Reese struggled with letting go of her independence at certain times was a perfect balance. Finishing Deacon with a silly grin on my face was almost as satisfying as riding on the back of the harley, holding my own BFMC member would be.

Blood & Bones: Deacon
Blood Fury MC, Book 4
By: Jeanne St. James
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Ava Lucas

Now this is the way I like to start my weekend. A story by Jeanne St James always comes at the best times and always leaves me with that feeling of coming home. I love these characters in the Blood Fury MC, and like my friends, I love spending time getting to know them better. This time we get to know Deacon. We have me him previously, working with his cousin, Judge, running the bail bondsman company. He is on a mission to bring back a monster of a man. What he doesn't expect is the beautiful woman at the local bar to be mixed up in his case. The sister of the latest victim, Reece is doing whatever it takes to keep her sister Reilly safe. With Deacon running the show, she is not the least bit comfortable, but will do what it takes. Will these opposites find their attraction too much to resist? And what of the man they need to catch? This story is full of witty banter, incredible chemistry and just the right amount of suspense. Deacon is rough around the edges, and it's incredibly alluring. Reece is smart and just can't help but fall for the man. Plus we get to see all of our favorites, catch up on their lives and the dogs!!! Can't forget Justice and Jury! Loved this story and as always can't wait til the next release.

Ava Lucas and Teddy Hamilton are an incredible team and their interpretation of this couple is spot on! Lucas breaths the air of professionalism Reece has as a lawyer, but also adds the strength and vulnerability in perfect harmony. Hamilton gives Deacon that edgy roughness with an alpha protective feel. The two are fantastic and made listen a favorite!

I have come to the realization that the Dirty Angels MC has been replaced. They will always hold a special place in my heart as the first books I read by Jeanne St James. That said, with each book in the Blood Fury series, the club and the people who make it what it is carve a deeper spot in my heart. Deacon is that guy we all have met. The guy who with a wink and a smile, falls in bed with just about every woman he wants. You can't help but be attracted to him, even if you don't want to be. Reese is that woman that looks like she has it all together. She is driven to succeed and isn't going to let an attraction to a guy just out for a good time derail her. These two couldn't be more diametrically apposed if you tried. But the spark between them becomes irresistible. Frankly, I wouldn't have held out as long as Reese did, Deacon makes me melt! This was a crazy, intense read right from the start and freaking phenomenal in every way. I couldn't put it down and didn't want it to end at the same time. So I found myself reading a little bit and then stopping to savor it. Ms St James is a master storyteller! It truly feels like she just follows people around cataloging their lives, that is how real they all are to me. Totally and completely deserving of all the stars, Blood & Bones: Deacon will be hard to top. But if anyone can do it, Jeanne St James can!

I don’t know how Jeanne St James does it. She writes these heroes that steal our hearts and frankly panties with simple but effective acts. Deacon made me smile in all the previous books with his laid back attitude, humor and his ability to get any woman he wants. The way he jokes around with his “brothers “ reminds me of the annoying little brother when he is anything but. He is sometimes the voice of reason in the growing MC club who can see things so differently. His job as a skip tracer/ bounty hunter takes him all over the state. It also allows him to help out other bail bondsman since he is the best. One call will change his future in ways he can’t even see. Reece’s sister is her whole world. Everything she does is to better the future for them both. When her sister is beaten within an inch, her only concern is her well being. I appreciated Reece’s point of view. She is a strong, very independent woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. Deacon in her life doesn’t fit her plan. The clash between them is awesome!!! The heat is volcanic! This MC series only keeps getting better and better. Deacon though might be my favorite. I’ll take a Viking any day and every day.

Deacon is book 4 in the Blood Fury MC series, and trust me, you will want to read this story in order to make the experience even more pleasurable. I crave book after book when I finish another one in Ms. St. James's arsenal.
He can have any woman he wants, but finally, he meets his match on one of his bai missions - Reese is the one that will be like an unapproachable wall to him This woman wants to control everything and protect her loved ones - this is her way of living and some sexy biker won't change that, well... no one can! Those two will collide, and the outcome is never easy to see in the beginning! They met due to Deacon's work, but will that be all that will connect them?
I love stories with lots of push and pull, especially when it makes deeper sense than just "I don't know what I want so I will get him to go...". Nope, not for me... Here the author goes deeper and makes us understand why characters behave like that.
In this story, I found everything I loved in the BF series - feelings, drama, suspense, love, sexy times, some MC life, and characters that can seem perfect but they are far from that! I hope that the next story will be even better!

I wish that I had been able to connect to Deacon and Reese more. I just don't see them having compatible goals, life outlook or anything besides sex in common. And, I didn't find the sex scenes all that hot or titillating. The one sex scene that might have been unique on his bike in the woods, just gets a mention, no detail. The others were just unsatisfying to me. This relationship seemed superficial and unlikely to grow without massive sacrifice from Reese.

I could still just go with it because everyone likes the idea that opposites attract and any relationship can work if you work hard enough at it (not sure that is true but it's a romantic thought)... but geez the the end of this book was eye rolling. No effn way those girls found a way to follow them to the disposal site and get involved. I'm sorry but that is just either ludicrous or the MC is seriously, seriously incompetent.

And, finally, again, there was no furthering the relationship info from the previous books. They all ended just when they started (like this one, also) and now we don't even get any real glimpse into how it's going.

So sucked into this series

I find myself waiting for each book in this series with bated breath. I loved Deacon (not his manwhore ways though😉) in the previous books. This book was really good. I read it in one day because I was riveted and couldn’t put it down. Jeanne St. James is a master at writing chemistry and intense and emotional love/sex scenes. The actual story was perfectly paced, not a single slow part.

The reason I’m giving this book 4 stars instead of my usual 5 is because of Reese. She was just so bitchy, rude and ungrateful in the beginning. And then she was closed off and cold up to the very end of the book. There’s a reason for it, but by the end, she just needed to warm up at least a little bit more. There’s a HEA but it felt more like a HFN. I really wanted them to be ready to fully commit to each other. I’m hoping that in subsequent books we get an update on them and they’re going strong. I would REALLY love a Deacon/Reese baby some day ha ha. I think Deacon would make a hilarious father. Anyway, I truly can’t wait for the next book!

Being a control Freak isn't always a good thing!

It took me three years to start this series purchased in 2020. GAH I'm glad I did. Absolutely loved Deacon, don't judge a book by it's cover. He's loyal to a T, smart, protective and knows the value of family. When he took the job to find the man who beat up a woman (Reilly) he never in his wildest dreams expected to fall in love with the oldest sister (Reece). I understand women like to be strong and independent but I think Reece took it to a whole different level. I'd say obsessive. She didn't have friends, she lived for her job and making a name for herself and never let her sister Reilly forget what she sacrificed for her. I wasn't a big fan of Reece . My heart went out to Deacon because she seemed to always look down on him and he felt used. In a way I wished he never broke down and went to her. But like the saying goes, the heart wants what the heart wants. Deacon is my big teddy bear. LOL Oh almost forgot the most kickass part was when Reilly pushed that button. OMG You go girl. I wonder who Riley will end up with and I wonder if Deacon will ever claim Reece as his Ol'Lady. Ok onto Cage's book.

The Blood Fury series is one that will keep you coming back for more. Deacon is the 4th book in this amazing series. Deacon is a bail bondsman who is used to have a side piece in every town. When he is contacted to catch a bail jumper who severally beat latest victim, he heads to a town not far from Manning Grove. While searching for information, he happens across Reese, who he finds out is the victim’s sister. Reese is an attorney who doesn’t fall easily to the charms of Deacon but once she does, sparks fly between them! Deacon and Reese do not see eye to eye on the mechanics of capturing the fugitive. Both have to learn to trust each other. This book is action packed and explosive. Jeanne St. James never fails to surprise me, and the conclusion to this story was not only intense but not what I expected. These big, bad bikers never fail to surprise me, and the relationships that they have with their brothers and their old ladies is heartwarming. I am eagerly awaiting Cage and the rest of the Fury!! This book and series is absolute perfection and deserves more than 5 stars!!

These big, bad bikers never fail to surprise me, and the relationships that they have with their brothers and their old ladies is heartwarming. I am eagerly awaiting Cage and the rest of the Fury!! This book and series is absolute perfection and deserves more than 5 stars!!

Deacon is a legend in his own mind! He has the best life a man could ask for he has his Brothers in the club, his business with his cousin who is as close as a brother, man’s best friend and all he has to do is smile at a woman and in less than 10 minutes ...... well he doesn’t have to sleep alone. Yeah....life is good and he ain’t changing a thing. When he arrives in town for his next job he sees the woman he is going to grace with his greatness.......what did she say......she’s not interested? Reese is just trying to get some work done when the incredibly hot Viking look man decides to buy her a drink.....tempted......yep.....gonna happen......nope. To bad though he is hot but no, no men, she has to protect her sister. Imagine Deacon’s surprise when he finds that the woman he’s trying to wow with his charms is actually the sister of the woman he’s come to town to protect and capture her bail jumper POS abusive ex. So what happens when a male chauvinist has to actually talk to a woman and woman who has sworn of men has to let one into her life?

I truly enjoyed Deacon his story was charming... His Viking looks along with his tattoos and piercings make him even better. He has no trouble getting what he wants from women.... well that is until Reese. Reese is uptight and controlling. She is super protective of herself and her sister. She has experienced a lot of pain in her life and has built some serious walls. Deacon certainly sets to knocking those pesky things down but not without some major resistance from Reese.

The push and pull between the main characters is amusing and enjoyable. Both have very strong personalities. This book has a little of everything witty humor, suspense, drama, romance, sexy scenes
The author also makes a point about women being viewed differently when they are career oriented. It was always about control even the relationship with her sister was more about her sacrifice than their bond. But thankfully Deacon was a strong man to help her work thru her misconception and understand that life is worth living and she needed more in her life and especially with her sister..

for this reader I liked the book

3.5 stars.

I get it. Feminist and woman power and maybe it's just me and I'm not enlightened enough. I just found Reece selfish and rude. Even her description of how her marriage ended sounded like she was awful, everything was about what was hers and nothing was shared or a partnership.
She insults anything "below" her, she wants more than her sister who has just an undergraduate degree, to be a *secretary* like that's so beneath her. She screams about women's rights and women being allowed to do as men but then judges everything about the club women and club culture.

Maybe that's just me and I have a bias there. 🤷

I really liked Deacon. I felt sorry for him in how we was being screwed around by Reece. He came across as kind and funny and I would have loved more of him and less of the weird dynamic with Reece to be honest.

The story got a little off the rails by the end. The MC seems kind of inept, the way the women barged in like that.

Honestly I had no real belief that this relationship had potential for a HEA.
