When a former black ops risk-taker runs into his spunky, high school sweetheart sixty years later, he must use all his skills to save his first love from the killers hunting her down.

Alaskan Haas Carter has a black ops past he never talks about. Since the loss of his wife thirty years ago, he's kept himself locked down, except when his skills are needed to help his friends. But when he runs into his high school sweetheart, suddenly he finds himself wanting to really live again.

Recently widowed after a heart-breaking marriage, Jane Callaway is on the run from her stepsons, who are determined to kill her before she can inherit their father's estate. Her only chance to escape from the ex-military killers is the man who won her teenage heart sixty years ago.

On the run in the woods of Alaska, with bullets flying, can Haas and Jane survive long enough for a second chance at the love that began so long ago?

Hunt by Stephanie Rowe

Contemporary romantic suspense novella. Book 5 of the Alaska Heat series. Can be read as a stand-alone. Second chance troupe. Older couple.

Haas Carter played a roll in book 4 helping to keep friends safe from a killer. As former black ops, Haas has the history and experience needed in times of danger. In this book, intuition finds him saving a woman from being kidnapped who turns out to be his childhood love. They quickly reconnect as they run from pursuing danger.

Sweet, and engaging. A quick read. And a nice wrap to the series. Everyone has someone to love.

HUNT by Stephanie Rowe is a contemporary adult, stand alone novella in the author’s ALASKA HEAT series. This is former Black Ops senior Haas Carter, and his high school sweetheart Jane Callaway’s story line. HUNT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.

Told from third person perspective (Haas Carter) HUNT follows Haas Carter as he travels the wilderness of Alaska only to come across a truck speeding violently out of control. Much to his shock, his high school sweetheart Jane Callaway will jump from the vehicle, in an effort to escape her step-sons, adult men determined to take back everything their father left to our story line heroine. What ensues is the quick rebuilding relationship between Haas and Jane as our couple fight to survive in the freezing wilderness.

HUNT is a quick read; a short story wherein Haas Carter, widower and friend to all of the previous story line couples, gets his own happily ever after. The action packed premise is fast paced; the romance is sweet ; the characters are energetic and relatable.

Jane and Haas.
This book has a bit of a second chance at romance.
To many years have past, marriages and lost love. But Haas has never stopped living he found incredible friends he can call family. An exciting life and a home. But the night he sees a vehicle lose control his life will never be the same again. Decades have past but he never forgot his high school sweetheart Jane. Jane is running from danger, her stepsons are out to eliminate her forever to gain control of the family money.
Haas has fought for his country and fought for his freedom then he fought for his friends bow he will fight for a second chance at happily ever after. A race across Alaska, this cilling story is sweet and action packed. It maybe short but is effective you get a whole story.
I received a advanced copy of the book for my honest review.

Short cut

I admit this Is the only Alaska Heat book I’ve read. I love Stephanie’s paranormal books, so I thought I’d give this one a try since the characters are around my age, and I was curious how she would imagine romance would play out in a generation she has no personal experience with. Basically she just avoided it. The story line and action would have been more believable for characters a decade or two younger unless they were supernatural. The characters hadn’t seen each other n 60 years and instantly are kissing each other, and within days are hoping into bed? Thankfully she spared us the sexual details.

Hunt:An Alaskan Heat Bonus Short Story
Stephanie Rowe

Silver Fox Haas Carter ends on a road he rarely travels and ends up saving a damsel in distress. She turns out to be his childhood sweetheart who is running away from her 3 stepsons. They make a run for it. Even though they are older characters, they are still strong and determined to get their HEA. A sweet second chance story with a touch of suspense. There maybe snow on the roof, but their definitely is a strong burning fire in the furnace.

I’ve really been enjoying this series. All of the characters are great, but Haas is special. He’s someone that can always be trusted to step up and help when you need him. He’s someone you always want in your corner, and now he gets his own story! Reunited with his high school sweetheart, Jane, Haas comes through in her our of need. The timing in his life couldn’t be better because he’s already started building a family with everyone else in the series. They’re like children to him, and Hunt lets him add someone to that family he’s building with someone to come home to.

With Hunt, Rowe gives fans a HEA for a really great secondary character in her Alaska Heat series. Having an older couple fighting for their lives and finding love again made for an exhilarating read. Haas is a badass and I totally want to be like Jane at that age. Heck at my age now! It's rare that you find a romance that features people over 60 or that treats them as vital and active. Sweet, exciting and sexy, my only complaint is that it was not a full length book.

I was so thrilled to be given the opportunity to review an ARC copy of Hunt. Haas is my favorite character from other books in the series. I have wanted to read his story and this love story with Jane is wonderful. On the edge excitement plus the romance is just so awesome. Being an older woman myself, I may have to read this often for inspiration. It is a wonderful edition to the entire series which if you have not read you must!!!! If you have read them then adding Hunt is a must!!!

Dependable and a good friend in his community, Haas Carter (aka Silver Fox) finally gets his story. Although a quick read, this novella is full of suspense from the beginning. Haas can't believe he is seeing his long ago childhood girlfriend but he will do anything to keep her safe. As the story unravels, you feel the love each had for the other and a possible new hope for the future. Although this is a short story and for an older person who will not be disappointed.

Haas takes his second chance with Jane, a woman he went out with in high school! Fate has a play in this story and its sets everything up beautifully. It's a short read, and I'm glad to have gotten more background on Haas as he was in the Alaska Heat Series. Loved this snippet of his life and had a smile when I finished it. Never too late for love.

I received this advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

Haas is a total silver-haired badass! He may be greyer than your average hero but he still gets the job done. After seeing his basement in Burn I knew that he had a story just waiting to be told!

Twists, turns, lost love, lovers reunited (admittedly a bit creakier now) and a great story to boot. The characters have a great repartee and banter back and forth. A great little gem and a perfect lunch hour filler!

You have to love Haas if you love the Alaska Heat series. Haas is everyones favorite in my opinion so it was really nice to see a book about him but I would have loved to see a novel instead of a novella but hey I will take him anyway I can get him. I read all 5 in a week so they are fast reads and really keep you intrigued and ingrossed in the story. Thank you Stephanie for Haas' story.

This was a short, but sweet novella. I loved that the main characters were in their 60’s. It was a great change of pace. Haas followed his instincts one night and came across some danger. Imagine his surprise when he recognizes who’s in danger.

I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

After reading Burn I was hoping Haas would get his story and was thrilled that he did!! It's a fast read but well worth it. There's suspense and you get some more of his past, of course with it showing it up in his neck of the woods. My only thing would be that I wish it was longer but I bet we see more of them in future books...at least my fingers are crossed that we do.

This novella starts right off at the end of Burn. Haas is one heck of a guy. You start to fall in love with him in Burn and his actions make you fall further with this book. He reconnects with his first love when he saves her after she is kidnapped. This glimpse into his past and the ending in this story gives the reader a happy little sigh that Haas can have his HEA too.

I am so happy that I got to read Haas Carters story. The characters are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is undeniable throughout the pages. Jane is running from her nasty stepsons and while running away she gets stranded. This second chance romance offers plenty of action and suspense till the end.

So happy to see Haas get his own happily ever after. This story proves that you are never too old to find love. There was a great suspense plot mixed in with a sweet story of finding his first love again. I loved that they both still felt the same after so many years. This was a wonderful addition to the Alaska Heat series.

This is a very good, action-packed, fast-paced short with older main characters, and danger. While our hero and heroine are elderly, they are not helpless, nor are they too soft. Once sweethearts back in school, gone their own ways and reunited under extraordinary circumstances, the chemistry again takes hold, could there be a HEA? I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

If you are a fan of the Alaska Heat Series, you have already met and fallen in love with the tough as nail bush pilot Haas Carter. If you haven’t read any of the previous books that’s ok too as this short novella reads well as a stand-alone story. This tale picks up right after the previous book, Burn, ends and finds Haas driving home on a dark road in Alaska. Listening to his inner voice he finds himself on a new adventure full of second chances written as only Stephanie Rowe can. The drama and suspense are generously sprinkled with dashes of humour and suspense. A quick read you won’t want to put down!

Short, but jam packed with excitement and drama! Just as good as the other full length books in this series, it takes a great author to draw you in so early and completely in such a short book. I loved it.
