Nowhere in the description of this book was her heavy handed Christian bias stated- which would have been very helpful to rule this book out as a resource for some. This book was written by the author and for the author. I’m very impressed and humbled by her lived experience, but I just don’t think she is qualified to give advice to others. I think this book has a few nuggets of insight, but overall I think there are better books out there to help heal your relationship with yourself after abuse.
I read this book straight through from page 1 to the very end. It was like a healing balm to my soul. I have read hundreds of books about abusive relationships and how to recover but none of them opened up my eyes and the scales fell off and the light of the truth shine brightly on me while reading this book the sadness and despair that I have been feeling for so very long began to fade away and I felt hope rising, joy and confidence rising and helplessness being broken away from me. 22 years in a abusive marriage. This book and it’s short pages have given so much clarity, truth and encouragement. I am a Christian and have prayed often for my spouse and my marriage, my faith begin to slip away but I have been holding on and I know that God is with me. I read some reviews people were upset that this is a faith based book or as they call it religious and I understand why people would think that and be upset about it because I would have also way back in the day before I was saved. For anyone that is not a Christian or does not believe in God I still really hope that the reviews about this being a let down because of it being faith based does not deter you from reading this book I really believe it will tremendously help you regardless. Again, thank you for this book, thank you to God Almighty!
This book is so good!!! It help me become self aware it helped me to remember and refocus back on myself!! Lots of wisdom!!! When we go through things we never think about how our story will help someone else this book ALONE helped me gain my confidence back and remove myself from an unhealthy relationship thank you girl!! I mean this from the bottom of my heart
This book left me speechless. It is a fantastic read! It's raw, real, relatable, and speaks to your soul. It's the kind of book you'll want to read again and again, especially in hard times. I appreciate Krystle's authenticity and vulnerability. If you're looking for faith based self improvement, this is your book!
This book is a great way to learn how to self love. Many of us feel not worthy of live. This book taught me that loving myself first is more important than seeking approval of others. Setting healthy boundaries and recognizing the toxic relationships and feelings I was in and having.
Cute book with some good messages -1 star for the obsessive religion talk [personal preference] -2 stars for the quote “mental health issues such as depression, and other toxic behaviors” depression is by a toxic behavior BUT toxic people can be depressed. Idk her intention but this phrase written like that rubbed me the wrong way
This book spoke to my inner soul. I had a history of abuse from my childhood until my young adulthood. Many portions I could relate to. The author wrote from her heart and it was well received. I will keep this book as my reference for the remainder of my life so I can go back a read it again and again.
The author is a Christian. She includes relevant bible verses and focuses on her faith a lot. Which I didn't mind at all, but you wouldn't be able to tell from reading the back. It's very casually written. She uses "Lol." But her voice is authentic, and the message is extremely uplifting, especially if you're in the midst of the healing process.
I absolutely love this book I felt like it was written just for me. This book makes me want to put myself first and love myself more. Excellent job!! I will be recommending this to all my friends.
There were some great points in here, but I found it too repetitive. The chapter reviews were weird to me, and grammatical errors bother me in published pieces. The author didn’t give a lot of resources or tools to reach the goals she kept talking about besides to lean on God.
I think it was important for the author to write this book for herself...to put it out there in the world, to shout loudly and proudly that the things that happened to her in her relationships were not okay, she deserved better. I think she needed to write it and say it. I say good for her.
This was a very transparent book, written so well I felt like I was having a conversation with a good friend. The testimony and how you overcame made the book very hard to put down.
This book is amazing. Thank you so much. It has taught me a lot n greatly written. The things we go through in life helps us to become the people we are today. We are not our mistakes n we teach people how to treat us
I am not a reader & this was a book I could not stop until I completed! It hit heart strings on some pages hearing her story but full of wisdom and help for ppl who need to learn self love and understand self worth!
I enjoyed the way it was written to be motivating and helpful in the journey of self-love. I felt a sense of connection and acceptance throughout the book. I do wish that the book wasn't written for just women because I think anyone regardless of their gender could use the advice and motivation.
The message in the book throughout was to choose yourself over abusive relationships. There were a lot of references to god throughout that I was not overly interested in but the message was clear and a good healthy reminder for those who tend to lose themselves in relationships.
Oh my goodness, absolutely love everything about this book. I enjoyed the flip-flop structure she used--from her story with her ex and then using that story to explain vital lessons she learned from her experience.
I felt heard, listened to. Nothing hurts more than feeling like you're not seen,
This book is a jewel I tell you. This book allowed me to answer questions about me i never really just thought about. I am learning daily what self- love looks like.
