The Nocturnal Academy boxset includes all four books in the series full of dark magic, sizzling romance, and heart-pounding adventure!
In a world ruled by vamps, being half fae and magicless sucks.
You know what’s even worse? Being sold into slavery by your own mother.
I am Onyx Logan, and my mother condemned me when she shipped me off to Nocturnal Academy. If I get lucky, the academy will mold me into a servant for rich vampires. If I’m not, I’ll become a courtesan.
But if the vamps think I’ll take this lying down like a good little bitch, they’re wrong. I don’t have the means to escape Nocturnal Academy, but I have my eyes set on someone who does.
Prince Preston Kallan, a handsome, pureblood fae teacher from the Summer Court, doesn’t know who I am yet, but he will soon. At least that was the plan. Because as it turns out, nothing goes the way I expect.
Titles include:
Wicked Nobles
Cruel Elites
Vicious Royals
Savage Monarchs
Featuring a kickass heroine, forbidden love, and dangerous magic, fans of The Mortal Instruments, Vampire Diaries, and A Shade of Vampire, will love Nocturnal Academy!

Excellent writing, great characters and captivating storyline made this a hit for me. The author has a way of bringing the characters to life and making them and the world they live in believable and realistic. I enjoyed reading this set.
This series was really good, each book keeps you hooked into the great storyline with some amazing characters. In each book the characters go through many twists and turns to make you want to keep turning the pages to see if they make it through. Totally recommend
The book describes evil well, which is better than many romance novels that pretend evil is okay if the romantic lead is attractive. There is random profanity, sexual innuendo, coarse sex euphemisms, and gynecologically unsound misinformation about the hymen and virginity as something that can either be proven or taken. A woman doesn’t consent to have sex until she consents because the fruit of the Spirit is self control (Gal 5:22-23). Non-evil people with intelligence understand that authentic consent cannot be coerced or stolen. Therefore, someone who is raped or coerced into a sexual act (still rape) remains a virgin because her sexuality is always under her own control no matter what anyone else does and she has not consented, so she may be sexually abused, but that still doesn’t mean she has had sex. Being pure has nothing to do with whether or not someone is a virgin anyway, but rather whether they love Christ and love their neighbors as themselves.
The author basically implies that if she included anything about Christmas, it would be insulting or smeared because of crass sexual wish fulfillment abuses and states that reading books won’t help the heroine. Christmas celebrates the birth of Christ into an oppressed society, where he is vulnerable and without clothing and the propped up King tries to control the sexual procreation of the oppressed with murder, & the humiliation involved doesn’t belong to the innocent baby. The similarities to the heroine’s situation are so striking that it is nearly impossible to believe that she would not benefit from a knowledge of the celebration of Christmas. Then, after dismissing Christmas, the author(s) include Odin worship as an excuse for more evil acts.
Unfortunately, this means that while the author(s) describes evil very well, neither she nor her characters have any idea how to actually handle evil, heal from it, or remain in control in spite of oppression. Lack of control leads to PTSD and mental illness. Reading Christian scripture actually would’ve helped the heroine a great deal. Because the fruit of the spirit is self control, it means that no, she cannot be forced to do something that she doesn’t want to do in her mind or heart by weird evil forces, because God is stronger and always will be. Because the fruit of the spirit is self-control, when she feels like she has no control, if she read scripture, the heroine would know better than to remove more of her own control of herself by abusing alcohol. She would also know better than to try and assert self-control by having sex with somebody that emotionally abuses her, because she would already know she has self control. She would know that she can address sin and retain control over herself by discerning that abuse is sin and admonishing it because love does not dishonor others, always protects, and rejoices with the truth in 1 Corinthians 13. Punishment and fear of death cannot prevent her from standing up for herself or speaking the truth because Christ has taken away the sting of death and if she dies she goes straight to heaven where there are no tears and there is no more sorrow. This is knowledge the heroine would have if she read Scripture and it would have kept her heart, mind, and spirit safe and strong.
Because love rejoices with the truth in 1 Corinthians 13, the heroine would know better than to victim blame herself when she is abused by others, if she read scripture. Unfortunately, there is a constant barrage of sexual, verbal, emotional, and physical abuse to the point that it appears to be sadomasochistic wish fulfillment. Then, the book has the heroine victim blame herself & feel shame instead of placing blame on the abusers, while recognize that abuse doesn’t humiliate her, it shows the spiritual nakedness & lack of honor present in her abusers.
Later, the heroine socially isolated herself to avoid pain, equating relationships with weakness. However, retaining a social support network with safe people offers a boost to immunity, longevity, and resilience during times of intense stress so that stress does not lead to a crisis, mental illness, or PTSD. If she had read scripture, she would know that a person who stands alone can be attacked but friends can defend each other and a cord of 3 strands is not easily broken according to Ecclesiastes.
Scripture deals with all kinds of evil and offers knowledge of protection, healing, and grace. If she had read it, the heroine would have known not to take revenge because at the final judgment, unrepentant evil doers will be judged & she will have full justice without having to try to implement it herself and make mistakes. She would understand that she can be forgiven, and doesn’t have to carry a psychological scar for life.
She spends the whole book hurting and in ignorance that isn’t alleviated by spiritual wisdom or knowledge of how to grieve in order to heal. A narrative description of evil, ignorance, and pain is not fun to read.
I read each of these books as advanced reader copies as they were released. Here are my reviews.
Wicked Noble
Onyx is a half-fae girl who is sold out by her own mother and sent to the Nocturnal Academy where her kind is fodder for the Vampire elites who attend and teach there. She thinks she has a way to escape the inescapable school, but things are not going to go her way, at all.
Onyx is a great heroine who tries to do the right thing for others. I hope to catch up with her in her next book.
Cruel Elites
I read the book 1 to this series and was hooked. The first book is really good. Onyx is a half Fae who just discovered that she is not without magic as she had thought. Unfortunately, she found out by committing murder with her power. When one of the vampire guards finds her with the body she is sure she is done for, but Thorsten helps her instead of throwing her into the dungeon. As the vamps and Fae show up at the Academy to start the school year, Onyx is given a new roomie. Since she is partially responsible for what happened to the last one, she is determined to keep a distance from Lily. This turns out to be impossible as the weak Fae girl is just as determined to be her friend. Lord knows Onyx needs friends. Find out what happens when a half Fae girl with an attitude takes on a school full of mean, stuck-up vampires. With the help of a couple of friends and one confusing vampire she just might make it through her Placement Trials, maybe.
Vicious Royals
Make sure you read the previous books before diving into this one. (There is also a sort of pre-prequel, but if you don't read that one you won't miss any major events.) Onyx is getting closer to the day where her contract will be purchased by a vampire who will use her as a courtesan bloodbank. Meanwhile, she still has to avoid getting bitten by teenage vamps, manage not to freeze up any mean girls, and keep her accidental murder of a Fae from being discovered. She also needs to figure out what is going on between her and Thorsten. When a sadist vampire prince promises he will buy her contract she adds "find a way to finally escape this he**" to her to-do list. Great ending. Looking forward to the next one.
Savage Monarchs
Onyx has gotten away from the Academy and managed to escape Vulthus' not so loving embrace but she may have gone from the frying pan into the fire. Now she has a Fae king claiming to be her father. So where has dear old dad been for the last eighteen years? Well, that is a long story but apparently she is the only surviving child of the King of the Winter court. This sounds nice, right? But Onyx knows that nothing comes without a price. In this case she is willing to pay it to get her chance to kill Vulthus. In the end she may come to regret her choice when Thorsten comes back into her life and she once again has something to lose.

Fans of Evermore Academy, Vampire Academy and Cruel Prince are going to devour this series! Nocturnal Academy is a fast paced, exciting and gut wrenching series with a gruelling, slow burn, enemies to lovers romance, epic friendships and a hard-core prison Academy that's not shy on the punishments. Join Onyx, a half fae-human, as she navigates her new student/prisoner role in a vampire dominant world.
Nocturnal Academy features, but is not limited to, the following themes: ○ NA fantasy ○ Supernatural prison academy ○ Vampires ○ Fae ○ Hierarchy ○ Slow burn romance ○ Enemies to lovers ○ Deception ○ Magic
My overall rating for Nocturnal Academy is...
5 stars!
Oh my God I L-O-V-E-D these books! The completely compelling writing style bought the characters and world to life with such a cruel academy Prison and sadistic punishments to boot! I love Fae and vampires and this story was dark and delicious and dangerously devious. I definitely recommend opting to buy the boxset over the individual novels as each ends in teasing cliffhangers.
The Nocturnal Academy Complete Series Boxset by Margo Ryerkerk and Holly Hook: really good series
*****Wicked Nobles #1: Who to trust?! There’s a lot of bad “people” and it’s hard to know who to trust... Good story development and likable characters. Many unknowns, and consequential decisions. Really enjoying this series so far!
*****Cruel Elites #2: enjoyable, well written series Meanness and karma. Compassion and friendship. Servitude or Courtesan? Unknown motivations. So much going on in this well written, beautifully paced story. Highly recommend!
****Vicious Royals #3: what a ride! This story had a lot of challenges and negatives. I felt the pain, the grit, the determination. It was really hard to read at times. But I couldn’t put it down. Ended on a big cliffhanger.
*****Savage Monarchs #4: Kept me on edge The inequality and cruelty with the elite is just crushing. But Onyx can accomplish things that no one else can... and achieve the impossible along the way. Really good series, wrapping up with a nice HFN, and a lead in to another series. —PTators
Told from Onyx POV with a couple of chapters from Thorstens POV. Onyx a half fae and Thorsten a turned vampire heir fall in love but their journey to getting there is hard fought. The vampires kidnap earth born fae and force them into an academy where they use and abuse them with cruelty and viciousness. They train the earth born fae to be servants, whores etc to do with as they choose or see fit. The vampires bid on them at the end of the academic year to make them theres. Thorsten is different however he too is forced to put on fake viciousness toward the fae. Although a vampire heir hes been forced to be a guard at the academy due to his family falling from favour. To say the story is an emotional rollercoaster is an understatement and isnt for the faint hearted. Onyx finally escapes the worst monster of all only to be taken my another, her father. The world building and characters are well developed. The story is well paced and is a page turner. There are references to rape, there is violence, sadistic pleasures and sex. I enjoyed the read as I was emotionally engaged with the characters. Highly recommended.
Vampires enslaving fae. Onyx along with many other fae have been forced into attending Nocturnal Academy. There they are trained to do whatever they need to do to please vampires not matter what the vampire wants. A feeding slave, a sexual slave, etc. And at the end of their time, they will be auctioned off to a vampire master. Onyx is bullied by other students and only has a few friends. The one she gravitates most to and believes he likes her is one of the guards. But the vampires and the other students have underestimated Onyx. What she doesn't know is that her heritage is not what she thought and someone on the outside is in her corner and if she can be rescued, she just might be able to help the other students too and take down the academy.
Following a young girl who is sold by her mother to the vampires and thrown into the academy and a whole world of trouble.
Making an unlikely alliance along with a lot of enemy’s, Onyx overcomes the cruel teachers and and vicious students all while trying to conceal her newly growing powers.
Once Onyx manages to escape the academy, she find herself in a new kind of prison after being rescued by her long lost father.
New titles and expectations have Onyx on a whole new journey.
This series is nail biting and exciting. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat at times and once started is really hard to put down.
This was an amazing series. While darker then the usual academy stories, it was still addicting to read. It is the story of Onyx and what she must do to survive at Nocturnal Academy. The characters were amazing and many had a dark side and borderline evil at times. It made me question who actually was good and evil at the "school". But it was an entertaining read to see what Onyx would do to escape her projected future. I loved the surprises and twists that turned up randomly. Just a series that was addicting and fun to read. What Onyx had to survive was amazing and I loved watching her toughen up.
Onyx is one of the strongest heroines I've read so far. Hard as nails, opinionated, she knows her mind and has a mission to set things right. Being a half-fae she's destined to become a servant (or worse) for the vamps, but she keeps resisting her predetermined (by others) fate in every turn. When she discovers she has magic, she's surprised and tries to keep it a secret. In an academy which is more a prison than a school, she has no allies. Or does she? What is Thorsten's role?
Grab this boxset and immerse yourself in the "Nocturnal Academy" universe, that is filled with magic, adventure, angst, suspense, intrigue, mystery and a dash of forbidden romance.
Great collection I received this book about six weeks ago so I was able to take my time reading it. The stories were captivating, the characters were splendid, but the writing now that was first-rate. The books had a dark and delish feel to them and that gave the books that goose bumping vibe. I have to thank the author for allowing the book arc to come out so early it allowed me a chance to savor each of these excellent books. I highly recommend them if you are into fantasy. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Better than Hades Academy in my opinion. There were some cons to this series. Very dark with mature themes that I was not expecting. Trigger warnings. Heroine can be EXTREMELY frustrating, but so much of her attitude and thought process can be attributed to the fact that she is always in survival mode. Towards the end, I appreciated that our heroine resembled a magical black widow. The romance was a major, MAJOR slow burn. The hero was everything I wanted him to be, besides an actually good communicator. Overall, I enjoyed this series but I just wish that it was lighter.
ONYX IS THE BEGINNING OF THE NOCTURNAL ACADEMY WHEN SHE BEGINS A PLAY WITH THORENSTEN HER BESTFRIEND IN THE BOOK BY MARGO RYERKERK AND HOLLY HOOK. THE FAE BROUGHT BY THORENSTEN AND THE VAMPIRES WHO ARE INSTRUCTORS TEACH ONYX ABOUT MAKING FRIENDS WITH MANY FAIRIES. ONYX IS SO ENGULFED BY THE NOCTURNAL ACADEMY SHE CAN NOT TELL WHO IS FRIEND OR FAIRY, BUT DOES IT REALLY ENCHANT YOU??? THIS WAS A BREATHTAKING AND SERIOUS DIVE INTO A FANTASTIC EMBODIMENT OF A FOLORN LOVER.
Follow Onyx on her journey through Nocturnal Academy. Everything she comes into contact with seems to go wrong. She survives roommates, finding her powers, murder of a fae, and so much more. Even her lineage is questioned. The characters are quirky and terrific. The action is non stop and you will not be able to put it down.

This is the prequel to the Fae Prison Academy series, and it's amazing! By far these are the BEST academy books I've ever read. I love every character in these books and it's really awesome how each character has their own developed back story which in turn relates to how and why they act the way they do. I feel like I know them and I care about their relationships and what happens to them. Great job Margo! Keep on writing and I'll keep on reading!
I think both authors did an excellent job in keeping the reader engaged and drawing them into all the characters! My recommendation, get a deal with Netflix or Prime and bring these books to life on the screen! Get Taylor Hickson to play Onxy Logan, Amelia Holm to play Vergie, and Jessica Sutton to play Lily. Oh, and Lyne Renee to play Petra or the head mistress, and Ashley Nicole Williams as Blair.
Wow! What a fantastic series this book is! The prognostic, Onyx a half fae, is the base of the story. Fantastic world building! It takes Onyx from an everyday life, living as a mortal, to the Nocturnal Academy. The Academy is run by vampires and the fae are nothing but slaves. Read the story to find out how Onyx survives at the Academy. But, be forewarned, it's a wild ride that grips you from the first day of school.
I received an ARC. This is my honest opinion. I enjoyed the series watching Onyx grow as a person & learn how to control her powers & take control of her life. She has to learn who she can trust & who just wants to use her yet again. Onyx takes quite the emotional roller coaster ride before finding her place.
There are a couple graphic love scenes which I chose to skip over.
This was such a good series! I had read the first two books but when I got the boxset I was able to read the entire thing and I loved it! It was full of action and danger! There were times I smiled and times I gasped out loud!! I couldn't wait to turn the next page! I didn't want to put it down!! I highly recommend this!!
This is The Nocturnal Academy Complete Series Boxset. I thought this was a great series. The character work was great and the series is well written. From the very start I was pulled into the story. This is a series I would recommend.

The Nocturnal Academy Complete Series Boxset is a fantastic collection. It has lots of adventure, suspense, and drama. The story is well written, engaging with twists that will keep you on the edge. An entertaining read that I highly recommend.

So, the story part of this series is good. It's different in some respects, and the same as other books in the romance department. That's to be expected as it's hard to make romance different. My only problem with this book is the editing. Hopefully the authors will find another editor to do another run through.
An interesting set...vampires rule, fae are slaves...just one dares to push the limits...but can she escape or will she succumb? Twists and turns, so many enemies, betrayal...but does she have any friends at all? A wonderful intro to a magical world....okay, so next set!!
Wow I was thrilled. I felt these authors brought a lot out of these books. I started to read book one and I thought really good. I continued on and found the characters were amazing and the storyline was great. I enjoyed how the characters grew throughout the series. Outstanding quality
The story line was slow and dragged ... the ending seemed incomplete and basically just ended too many questions were left open . It’s like the author lost interest in it and just wanted to finish the book with no respect for the reader
Good story with good world building, magic, drama, action, terror and romance. I read all three books in one day. I was hooked in this story of Vampires and Fae. Good read and will continue the others series!
Really good series. I started it because I wanted to leave my review as soon as I could. I haven't been reading much lately but I really didn't want to put this series down. Very well written and loved the surprises.
