If I told you, that would be spoiling the last book. I know, I know. Not everyone likes secrets, but that's half of the fun of telling my story. I'll tell you when the time is right. Promise.

The following blurb might contain spoilers for Succubus Unchained. Be warned before you scroll down.

There might be something to this new life of mine.

Being mated to Maddox and bonded to Alfred isn’t so bad. Rogue is stealing his way into my heart and Fin already had part of it. If I were to be totally honest, I think they’ve all taken pieces of my soul.

Choosing them was the scariest thing I’d ever done, until now.

Someone has stolen my dragon and my druid. They’re locked in the last place I’d ever want to see again.
But I’ll do it.
I’ll walk right into the belly of the beast, confront the warden and anyone else who gets in my way.
Yeah, sounds a lot braver than I am. But they wouldn’t leave me there and I won’t leave them.

Even if Rogue and Alfred forbade me from going.

Pfft.

What’s the worst that could happen?

*Please note this is a paranormal prison reverse harem and will feature aggressively snarky characters, a bit of twisted humor and a lot of passion. So come join an amazing group of authors in Nightmare Penitentiary, a place you’ll never want to escape from. The author suggests you should always read the forward in her books. This is the third in a trilogy.

I love books. Not just a little bit, but a lot. Books were my best friends when I was growing up. Books didn’t care if I was new to a town or to a class. They were always there, my trustiest of companions. Until they turned on me and said I had to write them.

I can tell you that my own personal happily ever after included writing books. I’ve always said that an HEA is a work in progress. It’s true in my marriage, my friendships, and in my career. I am constantly nurturing my muse as we dive into new tales, new tropes, new characters and more.

After seventeen years back in Texas, we relocated to the Pacific Northwest in search of seasons, new experiences, and new geography. I can’t wait to discover what life (and my muse) have in store for me.

Maybe writing was always my destiny and romance my fate. After all, my grandmother wasn’t a fan of picture books and used to read me her Harlequin Romance novels.

Friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, friends to enemies to lovers, you name it, I love them and love to write them. I started with Earth Witches Aren’t Easy, the first in the Chance Monroe trilogy, but my characters and I have traveled a long way since I created that urban fantasy world.

One of the series I hear my readers recommend the most is the Untouchable series followed in quick succession by the Vandals, and that just delights me. No lie, whenever one of my readers brings up my wolves, I do a little a fist pump.

I’m active on social media, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to tag me with a question about any of my books, or just say hi!

This book was an ok end to the trilogy. Personally I just didn’t find the series all that exiting, thrilling or memorable. The showdown at the end was a bit underwhelming and for whatever reason reminded me of the ‘fight’ scene in Breaking Dawn. The heroine got some new powers that were pretty cool and used them a time or two to save the day. Then again with how stubborn she is she’d likely get killed off if not for the new powers lol. OK RH read but for me it lacked depth and just didn’t engage me all that much.

Fiona will forever be one of my favorite characters. She is so uniquely her. She blows into your life like a whirlwind and takes you on this wild ride. Succubus Blessed is the 3rd and final book in Heather Long's Shackled Souls Trilogy. It is the EPIC conclusion to Fiona and her guys. The ending left me content and happy. Would I love more of them- absolutely but I wasn't left wanting. If we never saw Fiona again, I would always know she's right where she's supposed to be.

This book starts off right where Succubus Unchained left off. Fiona is determined to get Fin and Maddox back no matter the cost. She is done sitting around and waiting, she's taking charge. She has grown so much from her first book until now. She's different, she's changed. Fiona NEEDS them all.

The guys- Maddox, Fin, Rogue, and Alfred are some of my all time favorites. They each have this way with her. Even Alfred (the A-hole) somehow un-a-holes himself in this book. She has changed them just as much as they've changed her. They are possessive and only want the best for her. She is their queen and they are determined to make her know it.

This book will hit you right in the feels. It's everything you didn't know you needed from them. It will having you laughing one minute and gripping your seat the next. There are battles, love, and steam...so much delicious steam! I FLOVED it! Heather Long has once again nailed it with this book. She's delivered this fantastic story all wrapped in a neat little bow. READ FIONA! There is no one quite like her.

This was a great final book. There is was a really great satisfying ending to the series. But not only that the book itself is enjoyable and really adds to the charathers journeys.

Ive enjoyed this series overall, im very picky with PNR. But Heather Long is such an amazing writer that she can wrap me up in any of her characters and stories. She writes amazing characters and stories. I loved Fiona and the guys.

Just finished Fiona and her guys and I absolutely loved it.

I have to tell you that it's the first time in a long time that as I read the end I was not sad or wanted a bit more of it.... Them.
It's not because I didn't loved the characters or the story... No not at all but it's because this story it was so full of everything that while reading the end I smiled and a heck yea escaped my lips.
It was perfect.
Thank you for the amazing journey!

Rogue slid onto the edge of the pool and held a drink out to me. “You need to eat, little sváss, then we will hold them so you can beat them for worrying you so.” Oh, there was going to be a beating.

I loved these characters so much. I was sad when I finished because I wanted more. Highly recommend this trilogy if you like spicy paranormal reverse harem. The banter is top shelf!

This is the third and final book in the Shackled Souls Trilogy and they most definitely have to be read in order. Blessed picks up right where Unchained left off. This might not be the life Fi would have chosen for herself but now that she has it, she's not letting anyone take it away from her. So when her Dragon and Druid get taken away, nothing will stop her from going to get them. Not even the place of her nightmares.

I don't think Heather could have written a better ending for this trilogy. The first book was all about the transition into her new life. The second book we started building more on the relationships and learning about their pasts. This third book we get to see how far Fi's feelings have grown and what she will do to keep her men in her life. Nightmare Penitentiary is just the beginning for this group in this last go round. The prophecy has been hanging over her head and with it the remainder of the seven. Alfred has avoided war for many years but time may be up.

So Maddox has been my favorite through the first two books. I love all the guys, they are all special in their own way but the big dragon always held top spot. I think Alfred kicked him down a notch with this book though. I don't know what it is about the big brooding a-hole but when he shows his heart, man he gets you.

Ok enough rambling. So this final book, lots of fighting, some good sexy times, more fighting, little bit of drama, more fighting, couple of surprises and oh yea, did I mention we have fighting? We also have multiple POV. In the end, I was left feeling completely satisfied with everything. Not to say I wouldn't love to see more of this group in the future, I most definitely would, but I was very content where we were. Fantastic job by the author.

Fiona has accepted that she is theirs and they are hers but...Don't lock her up. She wasn't going to let that prison have her Mage, Fin or her Dragon, Maddox. They didn't leave her there, she won't leave them. We jump right into plenty of action, then some sizzle. As they are leaving the prison they are confronted by Cyrus. As Maddox with Fin's help hides her, they are joined by Alfred and Rogue. I found myself giggling at Fiona's antics while Alfred and Cyrus converse, but then let a battle begin.

When Fin transports them all back to the Keep, all Fiona wants is a bath and sleep. That's not all but I do try to keep it clean here.

They obviously have something to discuss with her and they are probably correct in assuming she's not going to like it.

An attack on the Keep has Rogue fleeing with her through tunnels she didn't know existed. This leads to an encounter with yet another of the Seven, much to the chagrin of the others. They really do need to get themselves together and stop hiding things from her. Fiona isn't one to sit back and do nothing. She's also not going to be caged up ever again.

The Keep, a Castle, and the Island are all sites of altercations. Maddox takes off with Fiona, wanting to protect her from all that's happening. Of course neither Fiona or the guys are going to let him get away with that.

This book reveals many new things Fiona can do, and there's a few surprises as well. Plenty of snark, action, some giggles, and sizzle heat kept me turning the pages.

While I'm sorry to say good-bye to these characters this book was truly the perfect ending to this trilogy.

This final book was funny, sexy and addicting. I literally couldn’t put it down and was up way past my bed time finishing it. Fi is the most cheeky person you will ever meet. She has a don’t boss me attitude with a stubborn streak a mile long. You can’t help but to love her. She also grew so much in this final book! She finally accepted that she loved her 4 hotties and would do anything to protect them. Even break both her legs. I mean if that isn’t love, what is? I will also say Fi is one of my top favorite FMC’s ever!!

Rogue, Fin, Maddox and Alfred are just amazing! I absolutely love each one but in completely different ways. I will say that Alfred really grew on me in this book and I fell even deeper for Fin.

My last thought on this amazing book and series...go, go read it now. You really will thank me later. Finally Wyman is mine (I licked him first😋) and I will be begging for his book daily!

Fi's life may have taken a wrong turn somewhere, but the life she has now she is going to seize and run with it! Her Dragon and Druid may be out of play at the moment but she WILL get them back and she will make those who took them away from her pay!

We've had it all in this series, metamorphosis, rebuilding a life, and learning about yourself in the process. Now we get to see just how much Fi loves the men in her life and what she can accomplish and take on to keep them safe. Nightmare Penitentiary is not where you want to go on your holidays is it?!?!

Fi's men are all a bit different but together they are just what Fi needs. Alfred has been my least face so far but he redeemed himself. He went from a-hole to gruff male hiding an actual beating heart! Maddox is still my fave though!

all those little threads have been caught up and neatly tidied away. Great read.

Whoa. Not sure where to start with this book! It is a book three – and yes, you need to read the first two to know what’s going on, imho – but it is jam-packed with action! Fiona really comes into her own, in a VERY big way, and it is her turn to rescue her guys. She slams into the fight, it’s mostly for her life, and is now able to really fight all those who tried to kill her/possess her/use her, that came before.

Love, love, love her “guys”: Maddox, Alfred (and love her nickname for him!), Rogue and Maddox. Love their nicknames for her. Not only was the story fast-paced but it was loving and hawt watching their bond grow stronger and stronger. And she gave as good as she got – and then some.

Great ending to this trilogy! I literally was breathless when I finished, but I had a big ol’ smile on my face.

Cute but easy on plot

The story is more about the relationships and not about the overall plot moving the series along as imo those are a bit flimsy. They were easily solved and resolved in this book as well. I still enjoyed Fiona and her men, Alfred, Maddox, Fin and Rogue. The story is just mostly them in the bedroom. But if you need a nice palate cleanser or some fluffy story this could be it.

WOW! What an ending! It makes you want more from the start and you can't put it down until you reach the end. It's The way they work together is awesome, they're in sync - well mostly LOL. The story has everything - fighting, heat (duh), and surprises. The surprises are as she comes into more of her powers, those had me saying cool! This is a definite series to be read!!

"A goddess of flame, and spring and blood."
"She is my queen. She goes nowhere."

I can't believe it's over - but what a finale!!

Succubus Blessed, the third and final installment in Fiona's journey through the Shackled Souls Trilogy, more than lived up to its title! Long blessed us with a snarky-sweet, hilarious, pulse-pounding, plot with heaping doses of magic and mayhem to round it all out!

We've come so far with Fiona through this series, and yet at the beginning of the end, we're back where it all began - Nightmare Penitentiary. Only this time, our feisty FMC Fiona is no longer shackled and held inside its walls; but her mates are, and nothing, nothing, will stop her from rescuing them and raining down hell upon anyone and anything that stands in her way. Starting with these damned gates.

Fiona isn't merely a succubus anymore, and soon, no matter how much Alfred, Rogue, Maddox and Fin wish they could hide her away and keep her safe, the world will see that the rules are changing right along with Fi. But she'll never face threats or challenges alone again, and the journey towards their future is a heady, enticing combination -hot, hysterical and heartfelt.

If you love paranormal romance, snarky, sassy FMCs, unexpected twists and laughing til you cry and crying til you laugh, Fiona's books are the ones for you! And if you've read any of the other Nightmare Penitentiary books, you may see one or two familiar places and faces along the way, too!

This third (and final) book picked up right where the cliff hanger ended in the last book. Though I hate cliff hangers, that one was bearable because I had the last book in possession and just smoothly read on. What a great beginning, knowing what Fiona did to rescue her men from the prison. I don’t know if she knew about how strong she had become or not but I didn’t so it was really fun to watch her best that damn warden, Dorran, whom I have hated throughout all the books in this paranormal prison series. When she is reunited with Fin and Maddox, my heart burst with joy. These 3 books are the first time I’ve read Heather Long. She definitely holds her own in this genre but, IMHO, she belongs to a bit of a higher literary group. She reads like Tolkien a bit, which means she’s highly skilled, has a great imagination, does well with description and character development. “Threading our fingers together, he led me through the side streets almost a silent wraith, until he reached a bakery. The smell of fresh bread, pastries, and more perfumed the air, even as little clouds of flour escaped through one of the gratings.” But she is a bit hard to follow at times. Sometimes while reading I felt like it was going a bit over my head and had to skip over, otherwise, I would take too much time trying to figure out the nuance of what I just read. When I read fiction, I like to keep a steady pace. But I still got the gist of what she was saying. I want to read more of her works after I'm done with this series. Back to the story. The twist this time was that

I’m pretty sure I laughed more while reading this one than the other two. I slowed down my reading when I was about halfway through because I was enjoying it so much I didn’t want it to end. But I did finally finish because, much as I wanted to prolong my time with this group, I wanted to see them safe and living happily ever after. What an amazing and satisfying end. Well done Heather Long.

Succubus Blessed (Paranormal Prison: Shackled Souls Book 3) Kindle Edition

by Heather Long

Thank you to the author for the complimentary reviewer's copy. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
This is the third in a series. These are not stand-alone books. You could read them in any order, but it would be confusing.
Tiny spoilers ahead
I'm so sad to say good-bye to Fiona and her men. I've watched her grow from an imprisoned Succubus to a strong, if a bit violent, queen. I loved the men, as well. They grew away from their tropes and became almost real boys.
Third in Heather Long's trilogy in the shared universe of the Paranormal Prison. This really showed her talent in creating a balanced group of characters. The men, while they are like brothers, often act like brats or jerks. But those behaviors fit the characters – a grumpy dragon, a romantic Druid, a sexy Elf and a Fallen Angel who is a broken boy. All of the characters grow and changed. That growth makes sense as well.
The story picks up with Fiona chasing down her men as they are held in the Paranormal Prison. She nearly makes the escape with them in tow. And the story just goes up from there. Filled with paranormal politics, love scenes that touch the soul as well as making the reader hot under the collar, and fights, lots of sword fights. Ms. Long manages to give us beautifully choreographed melees without boring the reader.
A wonderful series that I will miss reading.

Book 3 brings us to the end of Fiona story. Bittersweet as I would love to read more about her and the characters around her.
Her indomitable snark is some of the best I read. Her harem is one of my favourites. They are so different, yet they created a family and with her in the centre, makes them unstoppable.
Alfred, stubborn assholishness fallen leads them all. Rogue, steadfastness of the fae shifter is the quiet assassin. Maddox, hot tempered dragon protects fiercely. Fin, charming druid bring fun, diplomacy and magic.
Alfred's brethren brings war to their home all because Fiona means change. A futile challenge. However the change is absolute miraculous.
Shackled Soul series is filled with secrets, knotting, suspense and a succubus desire and need for freedom. A freedom that vastly changed like her turning did.
Tropes
Mating. Vampire. Hybrids. Dragon. Fae. Magic. Pregnancy.
Qoutes
“My friend. My brother. She is your mate, but she is also my queen and Fin’s lady and Rogue’s chosen. We will all lay down our lives to protect her,

“You’re the slůt demon.”“You’re the crispy fried jackass. Glad we could clear that up."

Epilogue for Shackled Souls series

A fun what happens after. 4 years in the future, things are vastly different. With two mini Fionas running around causing chaos.
A great goodbye to awesome characters.

This book series had it all, the passion, the romance, and all the drama. I quite enjoyed this read. Would I read it again? Idk that's why it's minus a star. My only complaint is I wish we got a view in years later where they have a gaggle of children lol anyways still recommend to read if your even just slightly inclined to the blurb. Though I will say it took a little while for me to like the fmc. Anywho great story.

*****SPOLIER ALERT BELOW****

Another reason that I really took half a star from the one star (just didn't want to give it away with a Spoiler) is that we didn't get a birthing scene nor did we get Elias being introduced to the babies. That really brought me down I was so waiting on a delivery scene that would have me laughing all day. So in the end the epilogue just felt rushed.

Swoon! I really truly love these characters Heather has created in this series and it is one of those things where I'm so excited for the book, but at the same time I don't want to say goodbye. Lucky for me these amazing characters got the epic conclusion they deserved. I loved everything about this last book in the Shackled Souls series it had everything I wanted and even things I didn't know I needed but was so very happy were thrown in. I LOVE each of the guys and their uniqueness and what they bring to the group dynamic. Oh and we must not forget our kicka$$ leading Lady! She was the true fighter we have grown to love and we get to see her edges softening a bit for her men. A great job all around and I definitely won't be mad if we get a more of them in the future. Wink, Wink!

What a great ending to this engrossing magical trilogy! It didn't disappoint and I loved how the characters finally really came to realize their true potential. Fiona finally accepted herself as a hybrid and realized how much her guys loved her and she loved them. That love gave them the strength to overcome the challenges put in their way and become something more than they would have been alone. They were a true family of sorts. I really do hope Heather will decide to revisit their characters in the future even if its just a novella because I loved this story. It was hard to put down and while it was a truly satisfying conclusion its hard to say good bye to these characters.

Having read the previous two no way did I want to miss this one. These guys really now how to tease us and keep us on edge. Fiona has places in her heart for several and they are special. Another reason not to miss this one is it is the final in this trilogy. She is going after what is hers which I so loved. She now realizes they have their places and they are needed. This one will know how to pull your emotions in that you will not be feeling left out at all. But most of all you will not argue with where it ends.

A Superb Story!!!!!!!

What a fantastic story and series. It was jammed packed with action, drama, suspense, and a bit of mystery. The only part that was a little anticlimactic was the ending. It was leading up to something really big but seemed to fall off just a bit. Otherwise, it is extremely well written and the characters are stunningly developed. I throughly enjoyed the gang together throughout the story and series. It is most definitely worth reading and really doesn’t disappoint.

Overall, this series was just okay. What even was the plot? There was a vague prophecy about her changing the world, the shadow demon being after her, her powers randomly becoming super powerful, then the seven vampires. The details to all of these were so vague and I didn't understand what I was reading. It had so much potential, but the lack of details around the plot and the execution was poor. I still don't like Alfred, the rest of them were good. I didn't really believe in their love story either.

This book ended the series perfectly. Fiona is one of my favorite characters. I wouldn't be able to choose between her guys...they each bring something special to the story. I was so excited about the story line, I even got my husband curious as to what was happening. Fiona may have had a rough time in life, but she found her place in the world. And I love that. I am so sad the series came to an end...but I will definitely revisit these characters again and again and again.
