Sold… her bride price paid for by an orc. Cyna’s father has traded her to this monstrous, battle-scarred warrior for a bag full of coins. She’s taken from her home, her family, her village, and everything she’s ever known.
Tall, imposing, scarred, and green. His white tusks curve up menacingly. Atul is the perfect image of a monster. A brute covered in leather and weapons, and yet he’s not at all what she expected. The orcs are not the monsters she’s been told to dread.
He says that he doesn’t want her fear. Instead, he wants her to acquiesce to him willingly. Wants her submission, her heart, and her womb. Because he intends to take his husbandly rights… intends to fill her belly with his child. And she’s finding it impossible to resist him.
Tara lives in New York with her wife, stepson, and a small horde of furry beings who continuously try to trip her down the stairs at two o'clock in the morning.
When she's not stepping around and over two dogs and two cats she can be found drinking iced tea (because you can leave the south but the south never leaves you) while drawing, reading, and writing about naughty aliens and monsters.
Her love affair with monsters all started with Beauty and the Beast (in all types of media) and Hellboy, because who doesn't love an intergalactic demonic Prince of doom and a scientifically altered fish husband?
With over a decade of experience in the BDSM community she considers herself something of a connoisseur of shibari knots and edge play. She loves all things that go bump in the night.

So, our hero is an orc. With sharp teeth and green-ish skin. And he has a heart of gold.
Explain to me again, how did I miss this small hidden subgenre of orcish romance. I need to read more of this weird sides of romance... though I do think I have a raptor-shifter romance somewhere in my TBR. Hmm... decisions decisions.
------------
So I accidentally read this book again. In less than 4 months no less.
SOLD TO THE ORC was a filthy and dirty novella! When Cyna's father sells her to the Orcs she finds herself married to the Orc chieftain's son, Atul. I loved that this book knew it was erotic romance and didn't try to be anything different. We get just enough world building to set the scene but from there it dives head first into the insta-lust and sexy scenes.
While Cyna was nervous at first about being sold she quickly finds herself attracted to Atul's muscled green body and dangerous tusks. It also helps that Atul is a surprising gentleman who respects Cyna's space and choice and only wants her as long as she's willing. This was a quick and sexy read and I immediately jumped into book 2.
Content Warning: breeding kink; consensual roleplay of nonconsensual sex
Really fun, smutty quick read about a young woman who is sold off by her father to an Alpha orc for the right price and gets to keep her agency and still have really hot, playful sex. Despite being firey and having plenty of fight in her, she is not a TSTL who can think things through and avoid impulses to try and get herself killed for no damn reason. No dubcon or noncon here; consent is sexy in this story. All resistance is 100% play with a safe word for if anyone isn't feeling where things are going.
Excellent offering by a new author.
Only con: this work needs some fresh eyes on it to help catch typos/edit.
This five chapter erotica fell flat for me. Not that it wasn't what it is supposed to be which is an erotica but because it had no plot. It had no real conclusion. It really had no romance or love in it at all.
It's just an Orc and a girl who spend two-three days together either fucking or not fucking. That is all.
I will say I was very pleased to see in the beginning of the book a warning note because the sex in this book is BDSM related along with Consent Play ( this is also known as Rape Play, were one of the players pretends to fight off or dislike the act of sex and the other party pretends to force them anyway. It in real life is consensual.)
I thought the first half of this book had potential. It had the poor human being sold to an orc by her father and planning to fight every step of the way. But then, after 24 hours, she’s ready for CNC play? What?
This was a pretty straightforward "Bad Dad sells daughter to Orcs" and then oops turns out orc in question is a lil softy and they are super happy together. I was psyched for the twist of both of them were into Orc / Kidnapper role-play, and somehow invented both scene scenario boundaries and Ye Olde Magic Times version of a safe word and everything. But then they just started very modern degradation based dirty talk which, ok, to each their own, but they had been so Ye Olde Magic Times period appropriate with the set up I was bummed by the lack of creativity to just ignore all that.
This was on my list of KU recs, but I didn't note from whom or why. It's like 70 pages so no harm, no foul in any case.
Cyna’s dad randomly sells her to a group of orcs who come into their tavern. Atul is the orc she’s given to for marriage. He doesn’t abuse her, and that makes Cyna all hot and bothered. She starts to realize that maybe being an orc’s wife is better than she initially thought.
This was short and erotic. A little breeding action with dirty talk. There was even a little bit of consensual non-consent (they agree to pretend to ‘fight’) going on, which is super rare. But great.
The story is simple: village girl is sold to an orc raiding party and given as a bride to the leaders son.
She’s terrified and resigned, but when her new orc husband proves to be kinder than expected, it opens up her heart, and she trusts him with her needs and passion.
There was no epilogue (which would have been nice) no cheating, heroes past isn’t mentioned and h is a virgin.
3.50 Stars. (WW/ green alien male). Kindle Unlimited Edition 54 page novella e-book. Enjoyable read. Although this is erotica, the author provides enough world building and character development to give the reader a sense of the environ. As I read, I supposed that humans and Orcs live on the same planet, Orcs live in the mountainous region of this land mass about 40oo + miles from human villages. Orc live in underground communities in Sequoia like trees that are furnished with modern amenities and lit by magik and glowing plants. Physically, Orcs are 7 feet tall muscular males, their skin color is various shades of green and they can have tusks and/or horns; although they are ferrous warriors, they treat their human brides with gentle loving care and indulge all their sexual desires. The heroine, Cyna, is sold to Atul, an Orc warrior and son the chieftain. Cyna resists at first but soon start to soften and care for her Orc husband. By the end of the story, Cyna and Atul are expecting their first child.
I need to stop judging a book by its cover! So, I've been on this Orc binge-reading thing lately, and I put off reading this one because, well, the cover was just not appealing to me. But I decided to bite the bullet today and read this one today and now I'm angry that I waited so long to read it! The story itself is good, it's nuanced and has depth in both emotionalism, drama with that deepest betrayal in the first chapter, and the dichotomy of who the real monsters are in this girl's life. The Orc is a gentleman, kind of like a Renaissance Orc, if you will, lol, and I just loved how the story unfolded. I'm curious about the last scene, but now I'll read the next book in the series and hope to find some answers.
It's a generous novella that was spicy and fun to read. Huge green orcs with tusks who are strong deadly carrying massive weapons meant to do serious damage. The orc's have to find females from other species, including humans to mate. Cuna is terrified and livid that her father sold her to a passing band of orcs. He had the audacity to call it her dowry while counting the coins as she was being carried away from her human life. Little did she know her life was improving and she was leaving behind her abused existence. Still she must come to terms with an orc husband who bought her and his inevitable plan for her to give him sons.
I really enjoyed reading this book!! It was so well written it just flowed! There were so many things I enjoyed about this story, like, at the beginning, she was curious, not screaming in fear, and even mouthed off at the tavern drinkers. It made me laugh, and informed me, that this was not a doom and gloom book, and I really enjoyed that. But, that was the first of many parts I liked. I’ve read other Orc books, but this one, is now my favorite!! Looking forward to the next book in this series!! I think this author just created another book stalking fan!!
I wasn't quite sure how I felt about an Orc romance but, based on a friend's recommendation I dove in. Insta -love and possessive with eyes for only his girl is a weakness of mine. The strong level headed women are a major plus. I was pleasantly surprised! Really really good. The story was short but very well written. I was Transported to a different place and absorb into the story. I wish I had one maybe 2 more chapters to round out the story abit more but still an awesome read.
I really liked the beginning of the book. I mean it’s terrible that her dad sold her to be an orcs bride but he was very nice in the beginning, giving her space and everything. However after that it went downhill for me. I am sure these two would have needed a little more time to get to know each other more. So that the interest she started to getting would have felt more real. I don’t like that it went from 0 to 100 in barley hours. Whatever I still kind of liked it and do want to read the other two books as well.
That's some good smut right here. The writing was good, not choppy like most smutty novellas out there. The plot was not great but considering the amount of pages, it was ok. h wasn't TSTL. H wasn't cocky. I wished we got the H's POV and a HEA epilogue. Mild BDSM contains: little spanking, mild degradation kink, some hoooot CNC with safe word included (but not necessarily used), breeding kink, ideas of bondage but no rope or other accessories used. I think that was it, but I could be forgetting something.
decent book, but wish it was longer. This book consist of the girls dad selling her to the or and then their first few days together with the clan. The scenes were good. The chemistry was great. I wish we got more than after the first night they spent together and I wish we got more background on her and on him. I also wish there was interactions from other characters. I’m giving it four stars because the scenes were insanely good. They really hit the spot. otherwise, it will be lower because it needs a lot more material.
I loved this short book. The sex scenes were amazing. And the world building was pretty great considering how short it was.
Honestly, I loved the Orc husband. I wanted more. Was she accepted? Did she survive childbirth? Will she live longer being married to an Orc? Will her sisters be married to Orcs as well?
There was no satisfying epilogue which is why I have questions lolz.
Cyna is horrified to be sold to Atul by her father. She's taken to his home, (beautiful world building, love the Orcs home) and finds she has an alpha, loving, devious (conning her father to protect her from embarrassment) and sexy husband. He a little rough around the edges when it comes to formal ceremonies, but it only adds to his charm. Tara recently added an epilogue to this story and it was heartwarming!
She walks into the front area of her Father’s Tavern and is told she’s been sold to an Orc. She is immediately slung over the Orc’s shoulder and is taken from the only life she’s known.
Atul puts her ahead of him on his “horse” and takes her to his home. Cyna is surprised to have Atul be kind to her that night.
This is a very short story and I was sorry when it abruptly ended in an Epilogue. I would have liked more orc background.
Enjoyable for what it was! A super short erotic novella about a girl who's married off to an orc.
Even though I'm not into maledom BDSM, I enjoyed this. It came across as quite primal play, not focused on pain or traditional Master/Sir stuff, which I'm not a fan of. I also liked that the roleplay was practised consensually and at the heroine's request. Wish we saw more of that in romance, especially ones with D/s or power play elements.
Great short story to spend an evening with. I enjoy reading from both lead perspectives and would have liked that in this book but overall was satisfied. Also, idk if this was a kindle or book error but it seems there was a repeat of scenes ? After the first night of coupling ( sorry if spoilers lol) the scene repeated itself again. Just wanted to mention it just in case. Thank you!
A short PWP erotica that’s steamy and surprisingly sweet. :)
I couldn’t help wishing it was a longer erotic romance, simply because I really like the two MCs and would have loved some more character/relationship development and worldbuilding, but alas… it is what it is, and it achieves that goal quite well I think.
Definitely recommended if you like orc/human pairings and are looking for a quick erotic short with an HEA. :)
I knew it was a short novella but I had hoped for a better ending. Idk I expected at least a baby at some point in the story. Instead they fall asleep. Uh that’s it?! What a let down in the end. It’s a quick, dirty read, but sometimes the things she said or thought, or the things he said were a bit ridiculous and made me want to laugh instead and I don’t think those spicy scenes were meant to be comical in the throes of it. I won’t read another.
Want a great easy read but don’t have a ton of time? This book is it. Descriptive without being overly so, this book shows the characters developing feelings and gives a nice peek at the Orcs lives. Would have like a monologue by Atul though or something from his perspective. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
Great 👍 storyline very interesting even included the myth behind orc origin and curse- too cool . I couldn’t believe how much background info was given for such a short story. The sex scenes were super hot . I highly recommend this book. I can’t wait to read the next book!
