I love books based on science fiction, post apocalyptic, and dystopian societies so this was right up my alley! I’d actually been looking for a new book to read as I’ve read most of the dystopian classics (Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, The Giver, etc) so I was ecstatic when I heard about this one.

I was enthralled from start to finish. I kept wanting more. Scott did an amazing job of giving you answers while also creating more questions to keep you reading. I could’ve read this in one sitting had I been able to, but had to settle for a few days (and ending with a 6 hour binge while driving home from vacation). While it ended in a cliffhanger, I feel like it was the perfect place for a pause. I’m thoroughly excited for the next installment.

I’m so proud of Scott and am eager to read his future works!

I've read quite a bit by this author, so I'm glad to say this is one of his best and it's fitting that it's the first available to the general public.
Marlow, Zane, and their duck Honey aren't the average trio surviving in a bunker on war-ravaged Earth, and their space travel adventure introduces a new possibility for human life. The novel's twists kept me guessing, and just when you think you've got it figured out - Boss throws another curve ball. The first of a trilogy, I'm excited to see what's next.

I love this book. I've read it many times. I also happened to be the one who wrote it, but let's forget that part. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and look forward to the rest of the series.

Interstellar Islands (Cosmic Art Book 1) by Scott Boss is a science fiction novel about Marlow, Zane and a pet Duck named Honey two years past the Final War and forty-five years ago, 2045, after World War III, which annihilated three fourths of the world population. Marlow and Zane, her male friend, scavenges for food throughout a devastated city scarcely populated by unscrupulous people, who'd rather steal what you found for your own consumption and beat the crap out of you for the heck of it. An oddly dressed man saves Marlow's life when one of these ruthless city dwellers was about to crush her head with a large rock. The identifies himself as a gatherer named Arjen and his female companion, Isolde or Ice for short. Since the Final War, the air is contaminated, slowly destroying the lungs of people, including Marlow and Zane's. The true identity of the strange appearing rescuers will catapult Marlow, Zane and Honey on an unbelievable, thrilling adventure.
The characters are colorful and memorable with their own unique idiosyncrasies. The plot is focused and precise, leading you to an unexpected climatic ending. Reviewed by G. L. Didaleusky, author of medical mystery/thriller novels.
