Winter was coming, bring with it a fate that would join two in forbidden passion.

Repression had obliterated my existence. My mother, Queen Mireya, kept me under an iron grip my entire nineteen years. I had no idea why I was so important to the Coven, but that no longer mattered. All I knew was that I needed to be close to him—Alessandro Mwangi. It knew what I was feeling was wrong, but I couldn't help myself, nor could he.

The scent of him alone was worth the risk. Alessandro and I had to transgress against the rule of the Coven and broke our chains of oppression for a single kiss, touch, and glance—we knew that much to be true. We had to escape soon—together, regardless of the law, whatever consequences we'd face. Nothing else mattered. Coven laws, be damned.

Anastacia life is not what she wants it. She is not allowed outside the castle, her life is not her own to live. She meets a vampyre named Alessandro. That meeting changes everything for her. She is immediately drawn to him, they slowly start to spend time together. They have fallen in love, they must decide what they want to do. Their choice is made when the worst thing happens,

This a great short story, it is fast paced and well written. The story draws you in as soon as you start reading. When it ends, it makes you want more of these character. I recommend reading this.

This is a very short story that tells about Princess Anastacia's and Alessandro's first meeting and what transpired. They met somewhat by chance. She was ripe for love and adventure young and innocent. Her future was already planned. He came to the Coven as a consultant of sorts...he saw her and had to know her. They meet by chance a second time and talked for hours...then they kept meeting...now they are in love...what happens? Do they get caught? Do they get away? Read this short introduction and read the entire series to discover how their story and journey end...I received this via Booksprout and am leaving a voluntary review.
