He’s a lustful ladies' man, and she’s a compassionate charmer committed to chastity. They had a relationship their peers swore would last a lifetime... until it didn’t. Pryce Williams "I’ll admit it; I messed up. But I was young, dumb, and full of… you know the rest. The creator was too good to me when he brought Leelah Waters into my life my senior year in high school. Innocent with an open heart, she was way too good for the person I became the moment I started college. That was 16 years ago though, and I’ve wasted my time with enough women to know they don’t give me what she gives me and I’m convinced they never will. I’m more than ready for all the stuff they say love has to offer, and I want it only with Leelah. I’m so serious about earning her back, I’m prepared to make possibly the dumbest decision of my career to be with her. But is she willing to listen to my side and accept me back after I broke her heart?" Leelah Waters "I’ll admit it; I messed up. I was young, dumb, and fell for the guy with the looks and the popularity who told me he loved me but showed me he didn’t. I can’t believe I made the mistake of imagining my life with him at such a young age! As if a boy like Pryce Williams would live and love the family life when his career hadn’t even taken off yet. The women who were once teenaged girls have always flocked to him. They shot their shots. But I always believed Pryce and my bond was too damn real and way too strong for him to ever slip up. But he did, and we were over just like that. And I moved on, several times and with several men, eventually needing to force myself into chastity to save me from me. I’m better now… a little. And I’m over him. Then why after all this time does it feel like I’ve been holding my breath and waiting for Pryce to return to repair the heart he broke?" Amongst the seven vices, lust is considered the least severe because this vice deals with the sin of the flesh and not of the spirit. In fact, lust is labeled as misplaced desire for deep affection. A desire in need of redirection. Can the virtuous one who is chaste cure a lustful heart with the one thing that heart desires the most, love? *This book contains sexually explicit content. LUST is a standalone and the second book in The Love is Cure, Vol. 1 - Vices & Virtues series. Seven books make up this series. GREED is next…
Brookelyn wrote her first short story when she was a sophomore in high school. Back then she discovered how using her experience as a teen living in Brooklyn to create romantic shorts was just as exciting to her as retail shopping and going on dates. After starting her first semester of college two years later, Brookelyn’s creative writing became more of a hobby and something to do to escape the stress of midterms and finals. Now in her 30s as a freelance writer, penning short stories and novellas is her everything. While her experience with writing has evolved for the better, her undying love for creating fiction remains unchanged. Brookelyn's focus is on creating contemporary women's fiction with characters based in urban settings. Her stories chronicles the emotional journeys and erotic experiences of women today through her characters and the scenarios they're thrown into.
The motivation behind her brand of writing has a lot to do with what she discovered storytelling provided for her - an escape. Her goal with her work is to create characters and urban worlds that offer a great escape for fiction readers looking for a break from the daily grind of adulting and who prefer to relax with good books and short stories. When she’s not freelancing, doing yoga, or showing her husband and toddler lots of love, she can be found sitting at her computer desk, with her legs folded, and a cup of coffee (or a glass of wine) at arm’s reach as she types or edits her latest short or novella.
Nothing worse than a man thinking you’re supposed to welcome him back into your life with open arms after he fucked you over. God, I hated Pryce so much in this book because I truly felt like he didn’t understand the severity of just how bad his LUST ruined Leelah’s life in certain ways. Yes, he apologized throughout the book but I still don’t feel like he got not even towards the end the book. Pryce really was a lustful ass 🥷!
Leelah, I loved her because I felt like I could relate to her. I’m glad she stood on business throughout the book when it came to not allowing Pryce to just come back into her life just because what he did was 10 years ago. The commitment she asked Pryce to make to her was such a good one because it showed that she was still committed to be chase even with their new situation. I’m glad he said yes because otherwise I would’ve been annoyed with him even more.
This was my first book by Brookelyn, and I really enjoyed myself. I love a good book that can bring so many emotions out of me!
Lust was a second Chance romance story that featured Leelah and Pryce. Leelah was a psychotherapist and Pryce was a superstar NBA player who broke the heart of Leelah ten years earlier. The two reconnected when Pryce was trying to decide on signing with the home team. I enjoyed this story, but Leelah wore me out! I understood her hurt but she let her feelings get the best of her. Pryce was a betting man and every chance I could, I rooted for him to get that old thang back! lol! 😂
First read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. Leelah, got her head on straight about everything except the matters of her heart. She is holding on to anger as well as love for Pryce, and doesn't know if she will ever get over it or him. Pryce, the playboy baller, is losing himself in other women because he can't have the one he wants. Pryce takes advantage of an opportunity to get close to Leelah, and win her back. I loved the vulnerability he showed, as well as humbling himself, to show her that he was truly sorry for his wrongdoings. La fights with everything she has, as she does not want to feel that hurt again. But, the heart wants what it wants. She relents with conditions, to prove that he is worthy. Glad they were able to get their love back. Good read! 👍👍
Mosley’s story-telling ability just keep getting better and better the more I read! Lust was everything I wasn’t expecting. It was a true serving chance romance. At first while reading this, I didn’t know that Pryce deserved a second chance after he fumbled with Leelah’s heart so badly. Her heartache leaped off the pages and at times had me momentarily frozen - I felt her pain and mourned that relationship too. I knew then it was going to take work for Pryce to have even an inkling of a chance. It’s true Pryce has some major growing up to do, which we don’t see early on. That initially had me disliking him for his assumption that he got to decide now was the time to barge back into Leelah’s life.
Leelah and Pryce were golden. She is black girl magic. A professional, great family, in touch with her emotions. Good happy full life except for the broken heart she has been carrying around for 10 years. Pryce professional NBA player handsome and spoiled 10 years later wants to fix what he has broken. Simply wants a second chance at being the recipient of LA's love. This was a well written quick read. Had me rooting for the HEA. This was a great read.
I definitely fall head over heals for second chance romance and this was perfect. Pryce definitely was a little more selfish than I liked because he was smothering and didn't allow much room to process the difficult situation. Leelah was tough and didn't want to crack under the long term pressures of life that she endured and why. Nevertheless I loved them together and can't wait for more from them. Brookelyn is an amazing writer and she never falters in giving you the depth you need in romance. She always a favorite and can't wait for what's next
Every time I see the dedication dedicated to the saints and the sinners I know I’m in for a treat. This book was amazing. I absolutely adore Leelah and Pryce. This story had just the right amount of spice and everything in between. Leelah’s heartbreak felt so real and was valid and I love that Pryce didn’t try to downplay what he did. He held himself accountable and I loved that so much. This book was such a breath of fresh. La La Land for sure. Kudos Brookelyn you never cease to amaze me. Your writing style is out of this world.
I was disappointed with Lust. The character development wasn’t on point. Leelah was nerve wrecking. For her to still be holding on to that hurt to that level 16 years later was not healthy. I honestly think that the intense feelings she had with Pryce had something to do with the loss of her mother. In addition, he cheated but was honest and told her about it. That should have counted for something. It was just too many missing pieces that didn’t add up with the storyline.
This story pulled the range of emotions out of me while reading. When Leelah was hurt, I felt it! When Pryce felt rejected, so did I! But in the end their journey to love, though not easy, provided just what each other needed. And redemption and forgiveness played a huge role in that. Kudos to Brookelyn Mosley for writing a genuine, thought provoking story. I can't wait to continue on with her catalog!
I enjoyed this story. The characters were good together and had just enough drama to keep it from being boring. Only issue was the very unrealistic aspect of her sleeping with him while he was a client. As a therapist, you can't sleep with or have a relationship with clients until at least a year after the last day they were a client. The consequence is losing your license and it's a major offense.
I’m so happy this book was a slow burn! I don’t agree taking somebody back after cheating, but if Leelah like it, I love it 😂 I enjoyed watching Pryce begggg for her it was such a beautiful thing to read. I do believe some people are deserving of a second chance and seeing Pryce grow, admit his mistakes and try to right them made me realize he deserved one. That man was going to do anything to win Leelah back. The tattoo was cuteee !
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Pryce and Leelah's love journey in Lust. How can mistakes of our youth shape our future? How can lust affect the way we live our lives? Why do we use meaningless sex to fulfill the voids in our lives? Dive in and turn the pages of Lust to learn Pryce and Leelah's answers to those questions and see why Pryce was the Property of LaLa Land, his home away from home.
As usual Brooklyn wove a story together like no one else can, I love second chance story, I felt Leelah character was a strong one and raw being honest with herself to stop, the behavior of using men as a substitute for what she really wanted, and Pryce for going after what he really needed at this point in his life, a great read period
Absolutely loved this storyline. Price and Leelah’s relationship broke up ten years ago and each one never had any fulfilled relationships during that time. I liked the way that although Leelah appeared to have it all together but needed to see a therapist herself. This book was was very well written.
I am inhaling this series. From the onset I was engaged wondering if Pryce and La would get their HEA. Let's just say serious work was involved and the emotions...whew!!!! Plus the chemistry was off the charts! This second chance romance was everything and more than I expected. Would love to hear more about them. On to the next book in the series.
As always I really enjoyed this book and I’m ready for the next installment. Seems like granny Gina have to school him. LaLa stood her ground and got rewarded for it in the end
I enjoyed this book. I don't know who this author is but I'm absolutely loving her storylines and writing style. She pulled me in from the beginning to the end. Definitely recommend
This book had me frustrated but loved every moment. We have all made childish mistakes in our high school years but I thought Leelah was taking the mistake too far. I love That she finally let go and found her true love.
I loved how Pryce didn't hold Leelah up on how he felt. And Leelah was real about her Heartbreak. Though the emotions of this story was torturous I felt it to be real. Enjoyed it through and through.
My favorite troupe tbh. I’m only two books in to the series and i love that the epilogue doesn’t have any pregnant pop ups. my god can we be young and turnt first
Lust or sex addict? Pyrce and LA had a special thing going. To see how it played out had me on slightly on edge. But one thing for sure sex chemistry was not an issue.
Lust (The Love is Cure, Vol. 1 Vices & Virtues book 2) by Brookelyn Mosley is about professional basketball player Pryce Williams and psychotherapist Dr. Leelah Waters. Pryce and Leelah were high school/college sweethearts, however he broke her heart 😒. It’s been over a decade and Pryce is ready to get his only love back. Leelah is understandably apprehensive especially with the way Pryce is trying to get back in her vicinity. Heartbreak left Leelah looking for love and pieces of Pryce in other men, now that she’s 2 years into celibacy her first everything is back! Mr. Lust is kryptonite to her celibacy. These two are very hot on each other, I just wish we could have seen them together without the sex on the page instead of just mentioned. I wanted to see how they dealt with being celibate and how their love grew. Overall good read and I’ll continue to read the series.
