Kennedy Layne is a USA Today bestselling author. She draws inspiration for her romantic thrillers in part from her not-so-secret second life as a wife of a retired Marine Master Sergeant. He doubles as her critique partner, beta reader, and military consultant. Kennedy also has a deep love for cozy mysteries, thrillers, and basically any book that can keep her guessing until the very end. They live in the Midwest with their menagerie of pets. The loyal dogs and mischievous cats appreciate her writing days as much as she does, usually curled up in front of the fireplace.

Batty Blend (Paramour Bay Book #13)
The Paramour Bay Series by Kennedy Layne proved to be full of fun cozy mysteries full of paranormal intrigue, and heartwarming charm. Set in the enchanting seaside town of Paramour Bay, the series follows Raven Marigold, who is a relatable and endearing character who discovers she’s a witch. From the very first book, I was drawn into a world filled with magical mishaps, quirky townsfolk, and a touch of humor that kept the tone light and engaging.
Paramour Bay came alive with its quaint shops, mysterious coves, and a community that’s as eccentric as it is lovable. Ms. Layne’s writing style is approachable and immersive, making it so easy for me to lose myself in the pages (in a great way – NOT in a ‘I have no idea of what’s going on’ way 😊). Each book introduces a new mystery, often tied to the supernatural, and the twists are clever without being overly complex - perfect for fans of cozy mysteries.
So, whether you’re a fan of paranormal tales, cozy mysteries, or simply looking for a feel-good series to curl up with, Paramour Bay is a magical escape that will leave you smiling. It’s a perfect brew of mystery, magic, and heart. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy a touch of whimsy with their whodunits.
Let the Binge Begin.
Happy Reading…

A vampire bat shows up in Paramour Bay but he isn't the usual bat. He is associated with Bettle who is actually a vampire. Now we'll see what happens in this tale.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Whimsical Series

Such a light hearted series I truly enjoy reading. Fun characters, silly plots that make me laugh out loud. I always know I’m in for a fun relaxing read when these come out. I realize this review is for the entire series but I sometimes don’t follow thru with leaving reviews. Can’t wait for the next installment and really hope there’ll be more on the way. My favorite from this author and most others I’ve read.

Raven Marigold and her supernatural friends and family are off on another fun adventure. They are trying to locate the vampire who visits Paramour Bay. Along the way they have a search for a vampire bat with an injured wing that has been nicknamed Count Cuddles. There's lot of fun sleuthing in this story. I really enjoy following the antics of this crew.

Bats in the belfry

The not so subtle foreshadowing from the last book leads our merry troupe on a vampire hunt. They want to save him the trouble of pretending to off himself in case his distraction goes awry.
However, it’s not so easy to find him.
The chase is fun and our heroes win again.

“BATTY BLEND” is the first book I’ve read by Kennedy Layne, but it won’t be the last! I was fortunate to find this fun, lighthearted cozy must read available during my Kindle Unlimited trial membership. Great characters & dialogue with a fun plot, so yes I can honestly recommend this to all fans of fiction!

Can't go wrong with Kennedy Lane

Another wonderful installment to this series. Leo is my favorite familiar in the many paranormal books I've read. Layne is creative and comes up with the most humorous dialogs. This book took a unique turn that I never saw coming but enjoyed.

I think this one maybe my favorite out of the series. Who doesn't love a Count Cuddles. Loved the twist at the end.

We're back in Paramour Bay with its human and supernatural residents and everyone is happy, well, Leo is still fighting the squirrelpocalypse but apart from that, all is well in Raven's life.

Raven is the local witch, who only knew of her powers when her Grandmother passed away, and left her the tea shop and her cottage in Paramour Bay, along with her familiar, Leo! At 30, this came as a revelation, especially when she found out her Mother knew all along! Now, her Mum has moved to the Bay and is living with Raven's shop assistant Beetle.

Raven is in a relationship with the local Sheriff, Liam; and Raven's best friend from New York, Heidi, is in love with Jack, the local Police Detective, although he has a rival for her affections - Leo, Raven's familiar is rather taken with Heidi!

When bats start to roost in the local belfry, trouble starts, as this is a sign that someone is going to pass on, but things take a sinister turn when Raven finds out more. As usual, it's up to Raven to save the day, with her trusty familiar by her side providing a comedic running commentary, life gets interesting!

Standalone cozy mysteries, best read in order to ensure continuity. At points the story is laugh out loud funny!

I definitely did not expect that ending! It was a captivating read.

A delightful whimsical mystery with a touch of magic, found family, and a lot of fun. It has a grim reaper, a werewolf, a warlock, a Druid, a wax golem, a couple of witches and a familiar. Now we have a plastic golem as well. And don’t forget the vampire! It is a supernatural family of a kind with quirky, lighthearted and cozy vibes.

Everyone comes together for a thrilling adventure of bat-chasing and vampire-hunting, only to find family and acceptance in the most peculiar places.
