Jimmy Comfort

In one moment, life can turn inside out....
As the youngest Comfort man kickin' around Firefly Island, I'd been born into a legacy and a curse. Literally. Us Comfort men were cursed and, dependin' on who ya asked, we were also legends, known for fighting, flirting, and another f-word. One that ended with k, and you'd need to buy a vowel and a consonant to fill in the middle.
Hank, my oldest brother, was the fighter. My middle brother Billy's nickname was Panty Dropper, so I think you could guess which one he was known for. And then there was me, the flirt.

I didn't take life too seriously. I was carefree. No attachments. No commitments. Some thought I'd dodged cupid's arrow because of the Comfort Curse. It said every love that any of us found would end in tragedy. I didn't believe in it...but I also couldn't argue with the fact that every time a Comfort man fell in love, it didn't end well.

So, I was happy with spending my days on the ocean running my charter business, and my nights in the bar, drinking and doing what I was best known for--flirting with anybody in a skirt.

Then in one moment, everything changed. I saw the flawless beauty standing on the edge of the dock and I knew my life was never going to be the same.

Isabella Santini

In one moment, life can turn upside down...
As a little girl, I'd believed that my mother died of a broken heart...it wasn't until I was an adult that I found that was actually the case. One sentence. That's all it took, sitting across from the doctor, to change everything I'd ever thought I knew about my life. And to make me wonder how much life I might have left.
That's when I knew I had to take control, something I'd never done before. For most of my life, my father had micromanaged me, and I'd always given in without a fight. All I'd ever wanted to do was impress him, live up to his expectations.

Now, I was done living my life for him. I had a list of things I wanted to do with whatever time I had left, and I was painfully aware that there was no time like the present.

Some things I could check off my list by myself, but there were definitely things I needed a partner for. Things like losing my virginity. I hadn't had anyone in mind to assist me with that particular to-do item, but the moment I saw Jimmy Comfort's lips turned up in a sexy smile that had my lady parts fluttering, I knew I'd found my man.

This is Jimmy’s story, the youngest of the Comfort brothers. It is wild how Isabella acts when she first meets Jimmy. It is even more wild when I found out how sheltered she has been all her life. I can’t imagine my mother passing away when I was seven and being sent to my rich father’s that I haven’t seen since I was four. Especially since he never talks to her. I was so glad to see Isabella decide to go to Firefly Island and come out of her shell. But this took her finding out something about what she inherited from her mother. I loved that she has a long list of things she wants to do that she has never done such as go on a Farris wheel. It was amazing the impact she made on Jimmy as he has been a real ladies man. I loved seeing how he wanted to help her with her list. This is another good story in this series. I can’t wait to read Hank’s story. I encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Oh. My. God! The hotness level of this book was off the charts. I loved the insta love that Jimmy felt for Bella when he first set eyes on her and knew nothing about her. I love it when the male character falls hopelessly in love and he loses the ability to think straight due to his new all consuming feelings.

I love how whilst Jimmy and Bellas love story is happening, the other plot is still working away in the back ground from book one, what happened to their mama and who is Cheyenne’s daddy?

Bellas backstory is sad and I love how she takes that one second of bravery to proposition Jimmy and then her life is changed forever. Her courage to stand up for herself was amazing and her comforting her dad and then the slight plot twist had my jaw hanging open. Love makes everyone act differently, that was certainly a theme explored in this book.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with Hanks story.

This second book in the series centers around the younger of the Comfort siblings, Jimmy, who is the family flirt. A family carrying a curse.
Isabella Santini is in town for a surprise visit to her former nanny. She’s also intents to spread her wings as she works on her “list”. A list of things she wants to do before she dies. Up to this moment, Bella has lead a sheltered life, and is determined to truly live.
When these two meet, Jimmy is enchanted by her not realizing that both their lives would be forever changed..
This was a sweet story about a woman who finds wonder in her surroundings making the young man rediscovering the world through her eyes. Can he convince her take a leap of faith with him or will her fears keep them apart?
Though I felt the book was geared more to the twenty something age group, it was still an entertaining story to be enjoyed in an afternoon of leisure.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is the second book in the Southern Comfort series and it's a good one!

Jimmy is the youngest of the three Comfort brothers. He is a boat captain who loves being out on the water and while he doesn't have the same nickname as his brother, Billy (Panty Dropper) he still likes women and isn't keen on commitment. While he hasn't put as much credence into the "Comfort Curse" he's definitely aware of it.

Isabella Santini has come to Firefly Island after learning the true cause of her mother's death years earlier and not only does she want to start living a more full life for herself, she also wants to try to catch up with her former Nanny, Mrs. B. Isabella has led a very sheltered life thanks to her father who is very much a dictator and wants things his way and that's that. Unfortunately she hasn't had the normal experiences of going out with friends, going to college and even dating has been beyond difficult.

When Jimmy encounters Isabella at the dock and she asks to go on a boat ride, he's immediately drawn to her. Sparks fly between the two while they are out on the water, but as soon as they dock, Bella flees and leaves Jimmy wondering why. As the two continue running into each other in town, they eventually start spending time together all while Bella is checking things off her bucket list as she goes along. While there are things she can do alone on that list, there are some things that she needs a partner for and Jimmy is her choice. Will these two be able to figure out how to make a real relationship work or will outside forces cause things to break down?

I enjoyed both Jimmy and Bella. I liked how caring and understanding Jimmy was with her, especially after she told him what was going on with her. He didn't flinch and took the information to heart, but it didn't change his feelings at all, which was so refreshing. I also liked the backbone that Bella finally had where her father was concerned. I love seeing a strong woman anytime!

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. There is definitely a lot more to learn about the Comfort men and Firefly Island!

Jimmy and Isabella’s love story in Sex on the Beach by the amazing duo of Melanie Shawn, book two in their Southern Comfort series makes another perfect match. This series takes the reader to Firefly Island and quenches a thirst reminding one of the importance of family. After receiving the receiving the devastating results of a medical test and learning she suffers from the same medical condition as her mother, Isabella Santini decides to take charge of her life and escape from her father’s control; creating a BID (before I die) list of things she wants to accomplish. Her first thought is to reconnect with her former nanny who now runs a B&Bon Firefly Island. As the youngest Comfort man, Jimmy was known for being a flirt; not taking life too seriously. Jimmy enjoyed spending his days on the ocean, running a charter business and his nights at the family bar, flirting with anyone in a skirt. When these two meet sparks fly, fireworks are set off, and they can provide enough electricity for the entire town. Suddenly, Jimmy no longer wants any other woman, he just knows Bella is the one and he’s done looking at any other woman and Isabella knew she had found her man when Jimmy made her lady parts flutter.

Melanie Shawn wrote a wonderful, hot, and moving story that should not be missed. They provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling/off the charts chemistry, secrets, and charming secondary characters giving Jimmy and Bella a chance at love and forever together. I highly recommend Sex on the Beach to other readers and can’t wait to read the rest of the series to learn more about the Comfort family secrets.

What do you do when you discover a secret about your past? You seek out something familiar, stable & comfortable. That’s why Isabella Santini has come to Firefly Island. She has a list of things she wants to do but the first item on it is seeing her former nanny. Isabella is acting different than normal. She’s been sheltered from real life but now is feeling rebellious. She’s determined to experience all life has to offer.

Jimmy Comfort is the family flirt. He likes all women & is determined not to get serious with anyone. Until he spotted the woman at the end of the dock. As she strode towards him, he began to fall for her. The more time he spent with her, the more interested he became & the more his curiosity about her conflicting actions grew. Can he figure out her secret & gain her trust?

I really enjoyed this story. The basis is about a young woman, sheltered from life & controlled by her father, finds out a devastating secret about her mother. How Isabella confronts this secret & rebels against her security creates a powerful story. I always enjoy a story that takes a flirt, has him fall hard & then has him have to fight to be taken seriously. This story really has it all - fear, sympathy, affection, love, fun & laughter. There is also a secondary storyline underlying this series regarding the Comfort family’s mother & what happened to her. This could be read as a stand alone but I feel you would miss out of some backstory on the second storyline & some of the family dynamics.

Jimmy and Isabella are simply precious!!!!!

Jimmy Comfort is the youngest of the Comfort boys and kind of a fly by the seat of his pants type guy. He is happy with female companionship but doesn't want anything permanent or labeled. He is content to run his charter business. Upon the heels of his father passing away and his sister that he doesn't remember returning comes a secret inheritance he and his brothers knew nothing about. Now, they are in the middle of trying to find answers surrounding their mother's death many years earlier.

Isabella Santini has just been dealt what she feels is the worst card possible. Having lost her mother at a very young age and being raised by an endless string of nannies instead of her actual father has left her extremely sheltered. She decides she is ready to live life to the fullest and sets out to do just that.

From the first time Jimmy and Bella see each other the chemistry between them was alive. This was definitely a love at first sight encounter. Bella soon realizes Jimmy is the perfect person to help her check some things off of her list. While Jimmy is more than happy to oblige Bella he cannot believe he is falling for her at the same time considering he has never wanted anything serious. They go on this journey together and hit a bump in their road but get their HEA.

This story is nothing short of excellent and this sister duo has provided another story of love that will have the reader feeling like they were right there with Jimmy and Bella.

Finally another step towards solving the mystery of Sabrina Comfort! The first book in this series had me absolutely hooked with the secrets and mystery surrounding the Comfort brothers’ mother’s death and the family dynamic. This book focuses on the youngest brother Jimmy, and finding love in Isabella – a stranger who ends up having ties to the family. Isabella has run away to her childhood nanny after finding out the truth about not only her childhood but herself, and decides to create a bucket list and fulfill it in order to live life to the fullest. Working towards crossing the first thing off, she meets Jimmy and ends up crossing more than one thing off her list – which turns into much more. The back and forth between these two where it seems that Jimmy is in love with her from day one but Isabella is much more reserved had me wanting to shake her to just live – just like she wants! Throughout the storyline, we also get more questions surrounding Sabrina Comfort and her death, as well as the paternity of the mystery sister Cheyenne. I also loved the connection between Isabella and Cheyenne! I have so many questions and am dying to get some of them answered – hopefully in the next installment!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Free ARC for honest review

Isabella Santini is a sheltered 25 year old rich girl who happens to be a virgin with a heart condition. She has made a bucket list, thwarted her father’s demands, and is off on an adventure that takes her to Firefly Island and her first nanny, Mrs. B.

Jimmy Comfort is islander through and through. He and his Comfort brothers have lived on Firefly their whole lives. Jimmy is pretty content with his life, but there have been some recent shake ups. The death of their deadbeat dad, the return of his older sister Cheyenne, whom Jimmy really doesn’t remember, and now a beautiful stranger who wants to rent his boat on his 1st day off in several days. A ride that will change Jimmy’s “set in his ways” lifestyle.

Jimmy and Bella are destined to be together, but Bella doesn’t want Jimmy to suffer through her “certain to come soon” demise, because Bella’s mom died at 27 of the same malady Bella has.

Jimmy and Bella’s story is a sweet story with some very HOT scenes. Thanks for the ARC.

I have to admit that I’ve been eagerly waiting to go back to Firefly Island and our visit was great. I really liked Isabella (Bella) and Jimmy and of course their story was fun with a tad bit of seriousness thrown in there, but a great story. I really enjoyed that we found out more history about the island and the back story on Bella. Jimmy definitely takes flirting to a new level, but I definitely liked these two and I have to say, their initial meeting had me laughing and blushing at the same time, I, of course, always like when we get to visit the bar and our fun friends there and anytime we get to see Kevin Bacon and Skittles, that’s part of the trip as well, and I also loved Mrs. B. One of my favorite parts was when Bella thought the town is like a Disney movie come to life. If I didn’t already want to visit Firefly Island, with the Disney mention, I’d book my ticket right now. We keep getting little clues in each story regarding the on-going mystery of their mother’s death – in this story we figured out a little more with regard to Cheyenne and it looks like we might be going on a road trip in Hank’s book. Can’t wait until November to pack my bags again for our next trip to the island.

Isabella has lived a very sheltered life, but learning of her heart condition has her wanting to enjoy life, and do things she always wanted to, and her first stop is Firefly Island where she meets Jimmy Comfort.
Jimmy is pretty happy with his life, spending his days on the ocean and evenings at the family bar, but all that changes when he sees Isabella standing on the dock wanting to charter his boat.
The chemistry between the two is off the charts hot from the minute they meet and so are their encounters. I think Jimmy and Bella are perfect for each other, their chemistry, their awkwardness is so endearing. I really enjoyed watching Jimmy be totally out of his carefree element falling for Bella :), and the way he helps complete her list had me swooning. 2 Comfort men down, 1 to go, can’t wait for Hanks book.

Sex on the Beach!

This is Book 2 in the Southern Comfort series. Melanie Shawn can spin a mystery and intertwine it with romance like no other. I was hooked after Book 1, and this second book, pulls you back into the mystery while you journey into the love growing between Jimmy Comfort and Isabella Santini. Isabella’s family dynamic is very strict and scheduled. When she learns she has the same health issues as what killed her mother at her age, she creates a bucket list and starts working her way through it. Jimmy is a happy to help her! Meanwhile, more questions arise regarding the ongoing mystery. Looking forward to Book 3 to see if we learn anything new!

I really enjoyed this book. I love when a carefree, no commitments type of guy finds the one woman that can make him want everything he never dreamed he wanted.
Isabella (Bella, to Jimmy only) finds out from her doctor that she has a serious heart condition. After living a strict sheltered life with her father (after her mother’s passing), she decides to live her life to the fullest. She has made a list of things she wants to do and plans on checking off everything on that list. Bella heads to Firefly to visit an old friend, the only nanny she ever loved and that loved and cared for her. Before she even makes it to see Mrs. B she stops and take a boat tour.
Jimmy is the youngest of the famous Comfort brothers. Famous not for anything they have done but famous because everyone knows of the Comfort men curse. Jimmy is a carefree, outgoing flirt. He loves the ladies but does not even consider settling down for his future. That is until he meets the woman that changes everything.
You will find romance, first’s and love. This was a great read. There is so much more to this story, but I didn’t want to give everything away. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.

Another Shawn classic

This is the second book in the Southern Comfort series featuring the youngest Comfort, Jimmy. Jimmy is the charming flirt whose easygoing nature makes everyone, well, comfortable, including the heroine Isabella. The opposite of Jimmy in every way, Isabella has just found out she has an inoperable heart condition and is working through her Before-I-Die list. Because of this, she often acts outside of her normal shy personality. Jimmy, of course, is more than willing to help her check off her list.

There is just a bit of a mystery from book 1 that carries over her and into book 3, and I’m assuming 4 as well. However, its not enough that I don’t believe you can read the books out of order or as a stand-alone, but I do think you would enjoy picking up Panty Dropper (book 1) first.

Ahhhh!! I was hooked right from the beginning!! There is something about the way they wrote Isabella that just has you drawn to her right from the start. And then Jimmy just follows right along with that. I got a little nervous at how quick the "relationship" started between these two and hoped it wouldn't take away from the build up of them getting together, but man did it flow perfect!! I also loved how they continued some of the story and characters from the first book into the second. Having those characters you already met stay around makes you feel even more connected to the story, but it's written well enough that if you didn't read the first story, you will still be able to follow along. I really liked this book and am now even more excited for the next!!

I love firefly and the Comfort family. Isabella and Jimmy are so sweet and perfect for each other. I had some trouble getting into it in the beginning as the way in which their relationship began seemed too unrealistic to me, but once I got past that, I loved their story. Isabella was very sheltered frowning up and I loved watching Jimmy help her through these times. He’s so supportive and patient. I do wish there was more at the end with Isabella ‘s father, that part seemed too rushed, however I loved the ending with Jimmy and Isabella. Overall a really good book. I loved the continued story around Sabrina’s death and can’t wait for Hank and Cheyanne’s stories too

Wow. I had to take a moment to just let it sink in after reading The End on this book. I am so in love with this incredibly romantic story. There are always layers to any Melanie Shawn story, but even though I love their books, sometimes they create something even more special. Isabella and Jimmy's story has that extra something special. There is an elegance and seemless transitions in the writing that makes me feel this story had an inspired flow while being written. It's truly magic when the story almost writes itself with how the feel of the story flows and envelopes the reader as you are transported into their journey. The balance of every element of this romance are beautifully done. This book made me happy. I want you to be happy, so read this book and fall in love with Isabella and Jimmy!

Billy Comfort is happy in his life - running his boat charter and being with his family. Enter sheltered Isabella, who comes to Firefly Island as part of working on her “bucket list.” The chemistry between the two is immediate and strong.
Both have their own family problems - Isabella is working through issues with her dad and some news about her mothers cause of death. Billy and the Comfort family is still trying to resolve the mystery around their mother’s death.
I enjoyed this story and loved the chemistry between Billy & Isabella. I liked that even though the story focused on Billy & Isabella finding each other, Isabella finds herself too.

Jimmy and Bella’s story starts off with a bang. But in exploring Bella’s life I could really feel the pain she suffered during her childhood. It was so sweet that she was getting the family she needed by going back to visit Mrs. B and then becoming a part of the Comfort pack.
Jimmy helping Bella check items off her bucket list was adorable.
I definitely didn’t see the DNA results for Cheyenne coming back the way they did. But that just gives me something to look forward to in the next book. I usually hate cliff hangers but I’m not mad about this one.
Another great book by Melanie Shawn. Can’t wait for the next one!

Jimmy got knocked right on his butt the second he laid eyes on Isabella “Bella” walking on the docks to his boat. He was done for, but wasn’t expecting all the ways she’d continue to surprise him.

Bella has lived a totally sheltered life. She lost her mom at a young age, and since then, her father has completely controlled every aspect of her life. When she gets some insane life news, she decides to make a massive life change and make a bucket list. One of the first items she checks off the list is quite a doozie. Ha!

I just cannot say enough good things about this book. Jimmy is someone that is willing to put in the work and effort for someone he cares about. And Bella is truly worth it! This book had a ton of emotion, a very unique story line, and many of the one liners thrown in had me laughing out loud! Loved this book so much and cannot WAIT for book 3!

Wow! I am really enjoying this series! I have loved every book I've read my Melanie Shawn, but this series is truly a whole new level!

Sex on the Beach is the second book in the Southern Comfort series. It follows the youngest Comfort brother, Jimmy. Jimmy is the outgoing, but laid back brother. A natural flirt and all-around good guy. When he is approached by a stranger to charter is boat for a ride one morning he didn't realize his life would be changed forever.

Isabella Santini is on a mission. She is checking items off her list and it starts with going on a boat. I really enjoy Firefly Island and this world that Melanie Shawn has created. Its fun, the characters are amazing and the suspense that leads one story into the next is intense! I cannot wait for Hank's story!!

Sex on the Beach is just shy of five stars for me. The authors waste no time bringing Jimmie and Isabella together. They had immediate chemistry behind closed doors and their friendship followed just as quickly. We are still trying to find out their mothers past and history so reading the first book in the series is a must.
I loved the character connection between Isabella and several other characters in Firefly. There were times that you have to dispel reality but it worked out and made for a good read.

A bunch of twist and turns in this book.

Jimmy Comfort is the town flirt who has had more than his fair share of the opposite sex. Isabella Santini found out something that sent her on a mission to complete items on her BID list. These two together are everything. She is want Jimmy needed after not having to work hard with the opposite sex and he is what she needed to help her complete items on her list.

Love them and the subplot.

This is another good book in the Southern Comfort series.
I really enjoyed reading it. It's a feel-good, steamy, intriguing
& moving romance.
Isabella, is someone that has been sheltered all of her life.
Forced to live under her father's thumb. After receiving some
very devastating news, she decides it's time to enjoy her life.
Jimmy, is the youngest of the Comfort brothers. It loves
women, just not interested in a commitment. He enjoys his
life, especially when he's on his boat.
But that is till Jimmy, meets Bella.
Great characters, & small town charm make it the perfect read.
I loved it from the first page to the last!!

The latest in Melanie Shawn's Southern Comfort series follows Jimmy, the youngest Comfort brother as he meets Isabella, a sheltered woman who is looking to live her life after a health scare. Their chemistry is immediate and takes them both by surprise, they seem perfect for each other as they both learn to make their relationship work! Can't wait for the next book in the series - there is a great HEA but also a bit of a cliffhanger in the Comfort family saga to look forward to!!

This book was a quick and enjoyable read. Isabella and Jimmy obviously had a lot of obstacles that they needed to overcome in order to reach their happily ever after but they were able to prevail.

This book goes to show that when you meet the right one, everything in your world becomes better and more focused. Jimmy clearly had a past but once he fell for Isabella, he was done in the best way!

I'm excited for the next book.

This book is the second in the series and I would definitely recommend reading this series in order. Besides it being a steamy read it also has a little bit of mystery that needs to be read about from the beginning.
Isabella has lead a sheltered life and comes to Fire Fly to see a nanny she used to have. While here she meets Jimmy Comfort and starts checking things off her "Bucket List." While checking off her list she has Jimmy falling hard.
I can't wait for Hank's story to see where the little bit of mystery in this book takes us next.

Another trip to Firefly Island to see the Comfort family. This time the visit focuses on the charming Jimmy Comfort and the lady he falls for, Isabella. More of the family mystery is reviled, and more questions arise. The quaint picturesque tourist town is a perfect romantic setting. And what small town doesn’t have its secrets. I can’t wait to read the next one to find out more about this town, it’s residents, and the secrets they try to keep.

Loved it!

This is the second book in the series and boy does it keep getting better. Isabella Santini love a sheltered life. When she comes into her mother’s inheritance and finds out exactly how her mother died. leading a chain of events that makes her take control back of her life and starts but making a BID list.

Enter James Comfort, youngest of the Comfort siblings and the Flirt, when Jimmy sees Isabella for the first time it’s like the stars align and that’s it for Jimmy. This was such a good book. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.
