“I try to live without regrets, Ava. Deploying without having one night, one kiss, would be a major regret.”
Ava Sanderson doesn’t “do” casual dating.
She wants to date one man, not a dozen. Sleep with one man, not a dozen.
And after switching from her decade long career in chemistry to co-owning Rosalind Brewery with her two best friends, swearing off all forms of dating is easier than taking the risk. Because when Ava falls for a guy… she falls hard.
Jake Rossi needs a distraction for the next two months before he deploys back to the dessert or to wherever the Army wants to send him. A couple of months as a maintenance man at the Rosalind Brewery seems like an easy job.
Until he meets Ava.
The woman is wicked smart, doesn’t have a clue about construction, and fights him at every turn. Jake can help- if she lets him.
But that’s not all Jake wants. He wants a date.
One date before he deploys.
Before he leaves Asheville and never returns.
Brewing Chemistry: Ava, Book One in the Rosalind Brewery Series, is a full-length romance novel full of laughter, sexy bits with a hunky soldier, and a satisfying happily ever after.
Wonderful story with well rounded characters and storyline. But.......the ending? It's NOT a cliffhanger! Ends on a somewhat happy note? Yes. Jake is Special Ops in the Army. Every time he does another tour, he changes. He finds it difficult to be what others expect and has a failed marriage to show for it. Ava doesn't do flings. Their story is heart warming and passionate. It just would have been better and complete with a completed epilogue. So......yes there's a wee bit of disappointment. 😏
Ava was super uptight at the start and somehow by the end she was all go-with-the-flow. Like she had a personality change during the story and as Jake pursued her. It will take forever before she agrees to a date. And then it progresses pretty fast but very short before Jake is supposed to deploy again. The sex scenes are pretty tame. The relationship building is decent and the Rossi family seems lovely. This whole time Jake has been determined to leave for deployment and never return to the same town, he wants no commitments, due to past circumstances and fear.
Thankfully we get an HEA where he returns and wants to be with Ava. ************************
Spoiler alert!!
************************
Ava is pregnant when he leaves for a 9-month deployment. She finds out the day before Jake leaves because her period skipped the month. When he returns, it says he was gone for 9-months and 1-week. And Ava still didn’t have the baby. And her supposed due date hasn’t even come up yet. So apparently this book lives in an alternate reality where women are pregnant for 10-months before their due date. So that was bullshit. Yes, sometimes babies come later, but for her due date to be predicted so dang late!?!!🙄 and then the epilogue cuts off where she thinks she’s going into labor. And that’s it for the book.
Book 2 spoiler: (minor since it’s a Ava spoiler not about Reese, who the book will be about this time) You only find out Ava has a girl in book 2. A sneak peek is included so I skimmed it to see if they mentioned the baby, which thankfully they did. Book 2 seems to pick up 8-weeks after the birth, or something like that. I won’t be continuing the series. Book 1 was ok, but not good enough to make me want to continue.
I love it when a man gets all possessive. But the actual book got buried. The book should have been Ava and him after he came home. I like all the building stuff that's really good detail. But there are just to many throw away characters and minor bits that mean nothing. Who cares about his ex or her ex, his family that lives five hours away. I liked it but didn't love it.
I really wanted to like this but unfortunately didn’t. Neither Jake nor Ava were likeable to me. Jake with his anger issues and not wanting to commit and Ava being too perfect and somewhat of a pushover. She’s okay with her ex, okay with Jake’s ex, okay with not settling down. It’s too unrealistic. The whole Rachel thing felt like unnecessary drama and took up too much of the book. I also hated that Jake missed the entire pregnancy. I did like Ava’s friends though.

Ava-Brewing Chemistry:Rosalind Brewery Series Book 1...
This book was mostly about Jake who was married for 7 years divorced , went into the services and got out and took a job doing construction worker and fell in love with Ava . He then had to make some choices and you need to get the book to see what happened. You will really enjoy it.
This book was ridiculously adorable! It was funny, frustrating and had me unable to put it down. I wasn’t feeling well and woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep, so I finished the book in a few hours. SO good!
I loved this story, I especially liked the way the girls were such a team to open the business but for Ava falling for her soldier was a romance I couldn't stop reading. Everyone will love this story.
An easy and enjoyable read. It included real life scenarios for people in the military and what life can be like for them once they finish a deployment. Was quite insightful and good.
Loved reading this book about 3 friends opening a brewery, ava and jake's relationship, meeting jake's family (wondering if they would get a series n yes coming in back of book is yes in winter 2020
I’m going to be honest and I feel so terrible saying this but I didn’t LOVE this book 😞 I pushed myself to finish it because I love a stubborn independent woman and a hot soldier so I had to know how it ended.
I really liked the characters though. Ava had recently decided to leave her career in chemistry after ten years and became co-owner of Rosalind Brewery with her two best friends. With strict rules for herself she doesn’t do casual dating and only dates a man if he’s in it for the long haul. After being hurt too many times she’s sworn off all forms of dating because when she falls, she falls hard.
Our gorgeous soldier is in need of a distraction over the next two months before he’s deployed again, unknown where his next location will be.
Finding a job availability as a maintenance man at the Rosalind Brewery sounded like an ideal and easy enough job for the time being. That is until he met Ava.
Incredibly smart, yet with not the first idea about construction, she constantly fights him over everything being the stubborn woman she is. Jake finds her endearing and loves her strong independent streak.
Jake only wants one this before he’s deployed again… a date with Ava.
Let’s just say after much persuasion Ava relents and they have their date. The chemistry between the two is off the charts throughout the book.
Although I found it tough to finish I must admit it was full of laughter and a gorgeous soldier is always a plus! Plus the little steamy moments are great too!

Not a bad read, glaring grammatical errors are a bit off putting. Some laugh out aloud moments. Second chances with different people do ensure they know what they really want.
