They won the first battle, but the war is not over. With a larger fleet made up from ships stolen from the Hungarian Space Force, they find that their crew are close to starving. Food is a priority, but none is to be found in this new war-torn dimension. Even if they can find food, they don’t have the coordinates for the next repeater station. Brett must go to extraordinary lengths as he faces the past he thought he’d left behind to find answers. Meanwhile, the Baku decides the deal it struck with Brett should be changed, and not in Brett’s favor. Can Brett survive a fight with a being he can neither see nor feel? And will his relationships with the Likasek’s be tested in ways he never expected as he learns more about their culture? Find out by ORDERING NOW! Book 2 of the Multiverse has no explicit scenes, but does have limited swearing.
From a nonsensical, illogical and irrational book 1, this book 2 has nothing worth noting. The main character, Brett, just because the author wanted it to, became the fetch-boy of the God of the Underworld. Without there being anything to benefit, then swears on his life that he will never lie again. The author places a lot of traps for the main character to fall into. The people he holds most dear are the ones that are paying the price for the author's lack of vision, and the main character's lack of character, lack of priorities and lack of commitment. Although there is a game-like system in this book series, it does not have any inside illustrations, character summaries, maps or world building: (descriptions of geopolitical, geographical, economic, political, religious, social, etc. systems found in place in the different systems/galaxies of the other Universes. "You can't have your cake and eat it too"...You can't protect the people you most care for and at the same time risk their lives to protect and save perfect strangers. It's always either or. You can't have it all. I feel the author places a lot of "Gordian Knots" on purpose to make it impossible for the main character to come out on top. The thing is, the main characters suffer, when everything should have been smooth sailing. There is no point to dismantling the game-like system that is growing in the Multiverse, there is no point to being "rescuer" of complete strangers. "To each their own". Brett should have focused on the well being of his people, his dear ones and stopped there. The author, because of lack of ideas, lack of imagination, is sacrificing them, the people Brett holds most dear, for perfect strangers and giving them nothing in return. This second book doesn't really have a point and I do not recommend it.
First, my review: “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
Over the past year it has become apparent that my reviews are somewhat antagonistic and I apologize to those of you that have taken offense. I think I had hoped to change peoples’ minds about reviewing works of art and that seems to have backfired spectacularly. However, I am still going to be true to myself and write what I believe.
To the author: Thank you for this chance to escape reality and enjoy the world you created! Keep up the good work.
To my fellow reviewers: Messaging me and reviewing my reviews is as productive as trying to shovel water out of the ocean. Stop. I get it. Let’s just all live peacefully.
To potential readers: Art needs to be experienced at an individual level. You are the only one that can determine what you like and don’t like. Don’t let others make that decision for you. You should definitely read the book and completely ignore all of the reviews. You are a much better judge of what you will like than anyone here.
I was a bit slow on the jumping on this one to read, because I thought the next one wasn't coming out until November, but I was disappointed to discover when I went looking for it that it had been published back in August. So much time lost I could have been enjoying the story, and a decent story it was too. This one is in the same vein as the Tao written books about the system, so if you liked those, you're likely to like this series too. I'm really liking this series, and would be happy to read more.
This series is really interesting in a awesome way. Love the litrpg elements. The skills and magic and phy system are really well done. Great story line and really interesting characters! Ok when is the next book coming out already.
