Miss Lacey Burton is a 20 yr. old heiress and is enraged with her step-mother Lady Daphne . She is trying to marry Lacey off to Lord Collymore, who is her lover. Lacey refuses and that night, dressed as a boy, takes her horse cricket and her toy poodle Peewee, and is on her way to Nottingham to her mother's friend, Lady Jana Bussingham. She is keeping her identity a secret and is going by the name Lacey Eden. On the way she is saved from two highway men by Lord Roland Keyes. He happens to be going to Nottingham and offers her a ride in his coach. She learns he's a fortune, which didn't sit well with her especially since he's just trying to marry for money. He explains he has no choice, has to make a marriage of convenience to keep up with his estate and his tenant farmers. The two get friendly and she's making things hard for him since they are both attracted to each other.
Into the mix are jewelry thieves, a well known balloonist and Lord Collymore still trying to get her to marry him. So much intrigue!
Lacey is sweet, caring, smart and such a minx, has Lord Roland tied up in knots! There's drama, suspense, humor, some surprises and romance. If you love Regency Romances, you'll love this one - I did!!

REVIEW
I just love this author's historical romances.
We get Sassy, Funny, Attraction, and a whole lot of mischief.
Sir Roland Keyes has no idea what he has in store for him after picking up Lacey. Young or not Lacey knows who she wants and it's not whom stepmonster chose for her.
Absolutely loved this story...
