Sanitation workers live dangerous lives!

I don’t know why but I usually don’t like stories where the heroine is a journalist. I suppose it is because it usually involves lies to get a story and pretending that she is someone she is not. Though I liked this one. The heroine Mona first meets the Hero Vincent at a party where she is working for the caterer and is a waitress. She tells him right off the bat that she is a journalist and he is still interested despite being in the Mafia. Vince is a mafia Capo and son to Don Leone, head of the Italian mafia in Philadelphia.

Mona talks Vince into letting her do a story on him, without revealing his identity. Though Vince knows that reporters are his enemy, he is attracted to her and wants her from the start and so he agrees with a few conditions, including that she stay at his house while she is working on the story, shadow him everywhere he goes and that he gets to read the story first.

In the beginning, Vincent is extremely cautious and says things like he owns some businesses and works in sanitation. He says he isn’t a gangster or in the mob. However, when things between the familia and the Cartel heat up, he loses all pretense. Though by this time she has signed an NDA with an additional clause about her story, so Vincent’s father, the Don has the final say in the story.

“It’s a dangerous line of work, sanitation,” I said.
She laughed. “Sure sounds dangerous,” she said.

Mona finds out how soft and naïve she was coming in to Vince’s life and in order to continue she realizes she has to change and toughen up. I enjoyed the steamy romance between these two and the story was terrific. There was danger, murder, mayhem and all the good things I like about Mafia romance, plus a lot of chemistry and steam between the two main characters.

Plot:

Mona first meets Vince at a party where she is working as a caterer. She tells him right away that she’s a journalist instead of hiding like most people would in her place because Vince is a gangster. And because she doesn’t hide who she is, he is intrigued by her and tells her to meet him for lunch.

She then asks him if she can do a story on him and he agrees, although reluctantly but he has three conditions, one of them being that she should live with him while she is writing her story.

In the beginning, he denies being in the mob or being a gangster but as things in the familia start heating up, he tells her the entire truth. I really liked how the story progressed and even though Mona was naïve coming into Vincent’s life, she took everything in stride and quickly warmed up to his lifestyle which was something that I really liked about her!

I really liked this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a short, steamy, mafia read, high on angst and low on drama!

This was an interesting story. Vince meets him match when he meets Mona. Never did Vince think he would get involved with a journalist. What started as an arrangement between Vince & Mona became so much more. Great story with amazing characters. Another great read by BB.

Vinnie is the bad boy mafia son of the Don and Mona is a journalist who is looking for her big break. These two are total opposites, yet so perfect together, and Vinnie has certainly met is match with Mona. This is a well written fast paced tale which is filled with danger, drama, suspense, and love, which all leads to an engaging and all-consuming tale. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and I highly recommend for all readers. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.

Tempted by the Sinner is the third installment in BB Hamel’s Lgieone Crime Family series. In this mafia romantic suspense, Ms. Hamel chronicles the romantic journey of Mona and Vincent. She is an aspiring journalist. He is the son of Don Leone, crime boss. Vincent (Vince) is attracted to Mona from the start with her brass approach to him at a Leone family event. In no time, he has her living in his home. He agreed to give her an exclusive as long as she keeps identities private. She agrees to let him read it before publication. Their relationship is nonsexual for a while. Then a Mexican cartel trying to encroach in the Leone Crime family territory. They escalate their attempts by sending a threatening warrant, a shootout attempt on Vince and Mona, and the bombing of Vince’s home. These escalated attempts catapult them into a war. Will Vince be able to eliminate this cartel? Will he keep Mona safe? Does she ever publish her article? Will their relationship end up as a happily-ever-after one? To find out, you will want to read this book.
I find BB Hamel’s writing style easy to follow. Hamel’s characters are likeable and multi-dimensional. The storyline is enjoyable with a perfect blend of drama, romance, and suspense. The plot is well thought out. I liked Hamel’s use of a two-prong plot line. One follows Vince and Mona’s romantic journey. The other is the intrigue behind their internal emotional struggles as they navigate their future within the Leone family dynasty. The result is a riveting romantic suspense story. Nicely done, Ms. Hamel.

This is the third book in the Leone Crime Family series. You can read it as a standalone. Vince is the Don's son, who has started a branch of the business in New York. He meets Mona at a party-he as an attendee, she's working a second job in catering to help her freelance journalism income. The naive Mona tries to strike a deal while Vince tries to get into her pants-and then it's all action & danger from that point. Having read this book hot on the heels of the first two, I was disappointed by Steven & Dante's responses. They felt like different characters to me. An okay read.

I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.

In Vincent And Mona’s Story, Don Leone’s Son And Future Heir Is Introduced To The Series!

This is the third book in a series about the Leone Crime Family of Philadelphia. It is a stand-alone, although reading the first two books does provide background information on the Family. Don’t’ forget to download the free bonus epilogue via the link at the end of he book!

With his unassuming wardrobe and cane, Luciano Leone looks like any other grandfather might look. Once he steps into his role as Don Leone, head of the Leone family, it is clear he has earned his position. He is ruthless but strategic in his approach to running the family. His word goes unchallenged.

From book one:

There had been trouble when the Chinese attempted to move in years ago, but a relative peace existed amongst the various criminal elements of Philadelphia since. The Russian Bratva have their own territory, but both Don Leone and Maksim Volkov know that peace is more profitable for both sides because war draws attention from the authorities. But tensions are ignited when a low-life from Dante’s territory foolishly pulls a robbery on one of Vlas Volkov’s clubs.

From book two:

Two years have passed since Dante won new territory – Gray’s Ferry and Eastwick – and selflessly proposed to Don Leone that Steven, his trusted Lieutenant and long time friend, be promoted to Capo. Don gave his blessing and gave Gray’s Ferry to Steven, who has since worked to build and strengthen his team to ensure his control. But the time has come for him to make a name for himself and show that he is a capable leader in his own right. He decides to take aim at the Celtic Club.

In book three:

The story opens sometime after Steven and Colleen have married. The Russians remain weakened. Maksim Volkov, their leader, has a disgraced son living in Chicago. Their organization has lost territory. And now Maksim’s leadership is being challenged. One of his men has rebelled and the writing is on the wall. Don Leone sees a timely opportunity in his rival’s difficulties, and he calls home his son Vincent from New York.

Vincent Leone, thirty, has never gotten along with his father. They disagree on almost everything. His childhood was lonely and isolated, and he lost his mother to cancer at a young age. As the son of Don Leone, he was always a target. His father taught him from a very young age to never stay down. And before age fifteen Vince had learned the hard way how to defend himself in a fight and was pushed into the business before he was ready. He worked for Sergio back when he was still Capo, along with his old friends Dante and Steven. But eight years ago Vince was sent to New York to establish the Leone Crime Family there. Vince had left everything he knew behind to become a Capo in New York, but he learned to love the city. He works independently from the Family in Philly, having established his own connections and networks. It has been hard work but he enjoys it. His failures fall on his shoulders, but nobody can take away the glory of his successes. Back in Philly, his father had put in the hard work and takes credit for everything, and Vincent could never have had the freedom in Philly that he does in New York.

When Don Leone calls Vincent home for a few weeks, he has no choice but to return to Philadelphia. His father enlists Vincent’s help in a proposed alliance with the Russians. It is the Don’s belief that such an alliance will cement his and Maksim’s mutual power. By helping Maksim retain power, it helps the Leone Family because if the Russians fold and the Leone Family assumes too much power, it invites increased attention from the authorities. A little rivalry is better in the long run. Vincent disagrees with his father, as usual. He feels that his father is underestimating he Russians. There is nothing to prevent them from regrouping and starting a war down the road, but at age seventy, perhaps the Don isn’t terribly concerned about that eventuality.

Mona, twenty-three, hopes to land a full-time job as a journalist. Since graduating from Temple University two years ago, she has worked free-lance, supporting herself with a job at a coffee shop. The internet has killed the industry, so the only way to get a full time job working as a serious journalist is to take some risks and prove herself. She snags a waitressing job for a party full of powerful men, hoping to find a story. When she stumbles upon a suspected mobster, she sees her opportunity. She outs herself as a journalist and asks if she can write an article about him, a profile, altering key information to disguise identities. She claims it will be good for Vincent and the Leone Family because it will dispel old ideas and shed light on the modern mafia. They were increasingly legit these days, though they still dealt in drugs, theft, extortion, and prostitution in their strip clubs.

When Vincent agrees to Mona’s request, he has some conditions. She must allow him to read the story prior to publication, and she must move in with him until he returns to New York. He offers her the opportunity to shadow him and get a real inside look at his life. His reasons are personal, though. He is bored and happens to be drawn to her. That confuses him, because journalists are considered the enemy of a Capo, and yet he cannot seem to help himself around her. But getting the Family to accept her is a different story, and Mona soon gets entangled in his dangerous world. The Jalisco, a Mexican cartel and the supplier for the Leone Family, catches wind of the impending alliance with the Russians and sees it as a threat. Soon all alliances are put to the test and a war is brewing. Vincent’s long absence leaves him an outsider, though, and he must find his way through the quagmire while keeping Mona safe from everyone – including his father. The couple eventually earns a happy ending.

In Vincent and Mona’s story, Don Leone’s son and future heir is introduced to the series. It is fascinating to learn about the difficult relationship between father and son. Vincent’s character is sympathetic. His lonely childhood is followed by being sent away to New York at age twenty-two, isolated from the rest of the Leone Family. It seemed like a rejection by his father. And upon his return he is welcomed, but not without reservations. He will probably never fully fit in, so it is nice to see him find happiness with Mona. Despite his belief that he has become a monster as a result of being raised by his father, Vincent has many normal qualities that take Mona by surprise. She even considers him soft and wonders if she was wrong to believe that he was part of the mafia. But he loves danger and surprises, and she soon learns that she enjoys them as well.

Vincent and Mona’s story is a mafia romance about the Don’s son and an aspiring journalist. The story is nicely written. The plot is complex. Vincent’s character is nicely developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Vincent and Mona. I rate this book four stars.

What a great addition to the Leone Crime Family series!!!!

Mona is an up and coming journalist, but she just wants a big break!!! So when her friend has a catering job with big names, she has to take the job and see if she can get the scoop while walking around the party. But what she doesn't expect is to meet Vincent Leone and he agrees to an article on him written by Mona, she is thrilled. But will this be easy? Will she survive being this close to Vincent? What will Don Leone think of this arrangement?

Vincent is back in Philadelphia to attend a big meeting with his father, but he can't wait to go back to New York to his crew. But while he is in town, he will have fun with Mona. But when Mona sees and hears things that may get her killed, Vince keeps her closer than ever before and wants to keep her forever. When things go wrong with the Jalisco Cartel, Mona has ideas that both Vince and Don Leone find interesting. Will she stick around after the cartel is dealt with?

This story will keep your attention throughout. This story includes love, lust, romance, twists and turns, tragedy, suspense and so much more!!! I can't wait for the next story!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

The Don's Son and His Journalist ❤🔥🔥🔥❤

A great addition to B. B. Hamel's Leone mafia series!!! Mona is a journalist looking for her big story and a gathering of Mafioso and gangsters is where she's looking. Vince Leone is back from New York and not by choice. When you father is the Don you can't say no. Vince is intrigued by Mona and her brassiness to inquire about writing a profile on him...of course the names will be changed. Whether it's the right time or the wrong time to be doing a story all hell breaks out and a war between rivals threatens Vince and Mona's existence. Mona must make a choice to go or stay when she is thrust in the middle. Vince will do anything to protect the woman he's faking hard for, even standing up to his Capos. Is there a chance for this mobster and journalist?? A story full of threats, action and destruction bringing together two people on opposite sides of the spectrum. A MUST READ and you'll get to visit people from previous books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorites collection. Looking forward to more from B. B. Hamel.

This is the 3rd story in the Leone mafia series. Vince was sent to NY to expand the family business At the Don’s request who is also his father and is brought back to Philly and while attending a dinner party he is outside for some fresh air and meets Mona, who is a server at the event and is also a journalist. Mona has been looking for her big story and once she meets Vince she has an idea to write about him and his gang of mobsters. Vince sees something in Mona and becomes interested in learning more about her. Vince agrees to have Mona write a story about his life with rules to protect his identity and as they spend time together Vince and his family are brought into a war against them and he is forced to protect Mona from the fallout. When the Don gets involved Mona speaks up and actually provides a new outlook on how to deal with their issue. Vince and Mona Are all in and once the Capos are brought in to help things are a bit shaky. I enjoyed how Mona stands up to them and ends up earning their respect and trust. This is one very interesting story about a mobster and journalist who find a way to make it work. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This book is part of a series on the Leone Crime Family, but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Mona, the heroine, is looking for a powerhouse story to get enough credibility for her to move away from freelance journalist status and into a staff writer position. She meets Vince while working at her second job - waitressing for a catering company. Mona knows he is the son of the crime family patriarch. She thinks he may be the perfect subject for her breakout story, but she has to convince him to cooperate.

Vince is in Philadelphia because he has to be for a brief time, and he just wants to get back to New York where he has been establishing another territory for the Leone family. He decides that spending time with the pretty journalist could be a fun distraction.
This story is fast-paced and pulls you in. Great characters, and participation from others in the series. I kept telling myself I’d read one more page or one more chapter, and before I knew it I was done with the story. Looking forward to the next one!

This book is Vince and Mona’s story, the third in the Leone family series and by far the best, it grabbed my attention from page one and kept it until the last page was turned. It flowed seamlessly had lots of twists and turns, plenty of raw action, suspense and romance.
Vince is Don Leones son and runs the mafia element in New York until his father recalls him to Philadelphia to help with the negotiations to secure an alliance, but things never go as planned and now an impending war is on the horizon. Mona Rizzo is an up and coming freelance journalist and needs a storyline that will give her the big break she is looking for, she sets her sights on Vincent and his connection to the mafia but will she agree to the terms Vincent sets to get it ??? I highly recommend this adrenaline fuelled all consuming book. I was given this as an ARC by the author in exchange for a voluntary honest review which I was happy to provide.

War of nerves
Excellent mafia romance, quite unpredictable, very hot, which oscillates between gang war and emotional war for the heroine, Mona, a journalist who seeks to do a report on the Philadelphia mafia, following Vince, the son of a godfather. Both know full well that they are taking a risk and that they may be manipulated by the other.
The more time passes, the more Mona asks herself questions about how far to go with him because she faces feelings that spend their time opposing between her ethics, her professional choices, her attraction for this criminal in the face of various attacks that he has to live.
I really liked all this questioning and the described evolution of this female character who gains confidence as the story progresses.

4.5 Stars! When your Dad is the head of one of the biggest crime families in Philadelphia and he summons you home, you go. Vince is taking care of growing the business in NYC but he is bored being back in Philly. While at a gathering for his dad, he meets Mona. She is working a catering gig though her real job is as a freelance journalist. She is up front with him about being a journalist and she has his interest in more ways than one. She wants to do a story on what life is like as a mobster. He agrees, if she moves in with him and shadows him. She doesn't really know what she is getting herself into when she agrees. When things turn dicey with his business, will he be able to keep her safe? Will it all blow up in their faces. Good characters and an interesting read.

As a clever journalist, Mona was looking for a good story that would take her out of anonymity and the Mafia was certainly a hit. Getting involved with Vince Leone and the risk and danger around him was exciting and she found herself in deep but even with her danger upon her she found herself wanting more. I am fascinated by these stories of Mafia bad boys with great intensity and strong and ruthless characters but with a loyal and generous heart at heart. The story has much suspense, which intensifies in each chapter and exciting narrations and descriptions that make me feel the action and violence in which the characters live and the burning passion that gets hold of them. Dante and Steven make an appearance to add more excitement to the story. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I enjoyed and left me wanting more.

AS always B. B. Hamel did not disappoint. I loved Tempted by the Sinner: A Possessive Mafia Romance it took me back to the first mafia series that I read of hers, The Barone Crime Family Series. Vincent Leone and Mona Rizzo are magical together. Mona became a strong character in her own right and helped Vincent when everyone else seemed against him. This story twisted and turned and held my attention from start to finish.

This is the third story in the Leone mob family. We met Vince in the other stories, now it's his turn to shine. Whoever said being a capo is easy does not know the first thing about what it takes to be a leader of such an organization. Vince is back from NYC, not by choice , and dealing with a ton of crap.. and on top of that, he meets a woman that for the first time in a very long time captures his attention and has him curious. Mona is an up and coming journalist who needs just one big story to launch her to the next level, and who is the biggest story than the sexy and dangerous and aloof Vince Leone. Will Mona get her story... and her man? Pick up the Tempted by the Sinner and discover for yourself this hot, sexy, tantalizing story for yourself!

I don't even know where to start. This book took several twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. There was romance, steam, action, adrenaline rush, controversy, family drama......it has it all.

Mona is a driven journalist and wants more in her career. A chance meeting with the head of the mafia's son presents itself with an opportunity Mona never thought would arise.

There is something about Mona that draws Vince in from the very beginning. Her story gives him the opportunity to spend more time with her and get to know her. Unbeknownst to Vince, a turf war starts and Mona is in the middle of it. What neither of them imagine, is that Mona really steps up when Vince needs her.

Will the war bring them closer together or will Mona run at the first opportunity?

I'm loving this series!! I'm a sucker for an alpha/mafia character and Vinnie is that in spades! Vinnie is the son of the Don and is in Philly to see him. Mona is convinced that writing a Mafia article will make her a serious reporter. She realizes that that filling in as a waiter for her friend has landed her in a Mafia members party. That is where she meets Vinnie, and now she is torn between her story and her feeling for him. Vinnie knows what she does, but he can't stay away from her and convinces her to move in with him to "shadow" him for her story. Mona gets swept up into the dealings with the Russians and when things get dangerous she must choose between her story and the man she has grown to love. This is a great addition to the series and I can't wait to see what is next!!

Wowww

Cool angle with Lina being a journalist. You could see Vince was restless and looking to shake things up.

On a side note semi-spoiler. Was kinda disappointed in Steven and Dante for not having Vince’s back right out of the gate. Yea he has been working in NY but that doesn’t change family. I have friends all over that I don’t always talk to but would drop everything to help. And their bond is supposed to be for life. I get not wanting a war and. To lose friends and families—soldiers* but that is no excuse to do what they did in front of so many others.

I really liked how Mona was a strong like Aida And Colleen in the previous books. Loved how she had a back bone and helped make suggestions to the betterment of the Leone family. Can’t wait for next book.

a journalist and a mobster? can it work.

Somehow this works. But she definitely gets in way too deep & he instantly trusts her and makes MAJOR decisions about things trusting her gut. Mind you she’s not of the mafia world at all. Knows zero backgrounds and it was all just difficult to stomach.

I am grateful it worked out but it seemed reckless.

The romance was hot. Because violence turned them Both on. The more dangerous the most turned on they would get.
Chili rating 3/5

Again seemed reckless but soooo adrenaline fueled and th speed at which this storyline developed is quick! So hold on. There are zero lulls in it. It’s an exciting constant action type of book. Highly recommended if you need some mafia war and romance in your world

This is another great read from BB Hamel. I really enjoyed Mona and Vincent. Vincent is part of the Leone Crime Family, and we get to see others from previous books. Mona has no idea what she is getting herself in store for when she meets Vince. Mona is a journalist, and Vince is the perfect person to get her "one in a lifetime" story. She tells Vince the truth when they meet, and Vince is eager to "keep" Mona, and he will give her a story, but she has to live with him. The story, however, takes a back burner as things become more unstable. Vince isn't sure he can keep her safe. This is a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Great mafia read.
Part of a series but can be read as a standalone with no cliffhangers.
Mona is looking for the perfect story to get her off freelance and on the staff as a journalist. She thinks she may have found the perfect subject, now she just has to convince Vince. Oh and stay alive!
Vince just wants to get back to New York, playing with a journalist could be a fun distraction. Things change fast.
This is a fast paced story that kept me reading, lots of action and hot banter.
I loved that Mona wasn't portrayed as a victim, she was a strong and smart woman that held her own in stressful situations.

A love for the front page..

I did not enjoy this story as much as #1 & 2 in the series, but enjoyed it enough to still give it 4 stars. My two biggest complaints is that (1) this is the first time we are hearing about the Don's son, you'd think he'd at least be mentioned in #1 & 2, and (2) I felt like the minor story line with the mentor just got dropped about half way through the story. Overall, I enjoyed the story.. I loved seeing Mona speak up when she wasn't supposed to with _good_ comments and questions (unlike in the previous stories) and especially liked seeing Colleen again. I am hoping Aida makes an appearance in the next installment.

Mona needs a good story to get a more full time position as a journalist, she decides to try and get a mafia story. Vince (Vincent) is the son of the Don, and Mona catches his eyes, and he is surprised when she out right tells him she is a journalist. It doesn't seem to kill his attraction towards her, but can she survive his world, when journalist are fairly hated in it? Will Mona regret trying to get her Mafia story? I enjoyed the dangerous mafia romance, both Mona and Vince were easy to like, and they had enough challenges to keep the story interesting.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. The story of Vince and Mona was great from the start. Young journalist, Mona approach is Vincent, the son of Don Leone, and sparks fly. Together they come up with an agreement for Mona to shadow Vince so she can write an article about him without revealing who he is. When the cartel makes a move against Leone crime family Mona and Vince are thrown into danger and their passion ignites. This is a very good story, an easy read, and has plenty of heat to keep you warm.

A Successful Working Relationship -
B. B. Hamel definitely knows how to grab and hold your attention. The third book in the series, will have you on the edge of your seat one minute, then hot and bothered in the next. Reading this book will take you through so many emotions, that you will need a glass of wine or a hot chocolate to settle your nerves. The story is a beautifully written work of art.
