Cursed Magic is the second book in this series. Willow has a lot on her plate in this book. She is trying to figure out how to break the next curse on herself, repair her friendships and getting used to being a witch.
Cursed Magic was absolutely enthralling and captivating in every sense of the word. It had passion, action, mystery, danger and so much more!

This book was good. Not as good as the first book and it’s purely a personal thing. Here are the 2 reasons

1. This is silly but hey it’s my opinion. One of the reasons I started this series is all the hype about how spicy this author is and how great the romance is. It was luke warm for me. Yes she has all these guys and yes there is a love scene but it’s a fade to black kind of scene and only happens once. Add to that I don’t really feel the chemistry with her guys except Silas. I don’t get the feeling of attraction, can’t get enough of this guy type of vibes. More like friends, sometimes not even that- Cam particularly comes to mind as does Sebastian. It just doesn’t feel like a romance which is fine but it’s not what I went into this book expecting.
2. It feels soooo similar to the first book. A curse she has to break, her pulling away from the guys, her trying to handle it all on her own and not communicating. Frankly I’m afraid all the other books are going to follow this same pattern. I mean each book is a challenge about the curse and without the chemistry, the same type of plot I just don’t know if I’m going to continue the series. As much as I enjoyed the first book, and I really did. This book was rather flat for me.

“You’re crazy, Willow. Following in line with your mother talking to yourself.”

“Says the voices in my head.” (Willow to voice)

With a negative Nancy of a voice in her head, family day and four love interest what could possibly go wrong for the newly discovered cursed witch?

Is she good enough? Does he really like her? Can she trust him? Will she let the voice in her head convince her she’s nothing?

I enjoyed this second book as Willow continues to fight the curse and discover the ins and outs of her new world. It is open ended to prepare you for the next book in the series but not a jaw dropping cliff hanger.

Cursed Magic is book 2 in the Harper Shadow Academy series and follows on from the events of Hidden Magic. This review does contain some spoilers

Willow is still trying to repair her relationships with Silas, Degahn, Cameron and Sydney, as well as Kyra, Remi and Lillian after the events in Hidden Magic. I really like how this is portrayed in the book because Willow doesn’t simply click her fingers and everything is fixed, there is still lingering hurt and distrust, especially on Lillian’s part. I find that this makes the characters more realistic and relatable. I also like how Willow owns up to the fact that she made a mistake and tries to make amends, and feel that she grows as a character through this process.

I absolutely love her relationship with each of the guys. Each one has a different style of relationship with Willow and they each give her what she needs, even if she’s unaware of what that is. Their only concern is Willow’s safety and wellbeing and I love how Sydney and Silas put their mutual dislike aside to make sure Willow is safe. It was great to see Sydney get some more one-on-one time with Willow and to learn a bit more about him as a person rather than him just being the one to go to when things go wrong. In the book, Willow acknowledges the fact that she has only known the guys for a short while and may not know them as well as she should, which feeds into the next curse that she has to break.

The curse that Willow has to fight in this book is a voice in her head that tells her that she is not good enough, no one will love her, how she killed Silas and all the other negative things that go through someone’s head. I related to this so hard. Everyone has that horrible voice in their head that tries to bring them down and I loved the way that this became something to beat. Even though this is a fictional story I really think it’s important to show the readers that, as insidious as this voice in your head can be, the negativity can be silenced with a little help from the people that you care about.

I am so in love with this series and these characters and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book and to find out more about Deghan and Cameron especially.

I received an advanced copy in return for an honest review

Once again Luna Pierce has raised every bar and has blown me away with her phenomenal words! Cursed Magic was absolutely enthralling and captivating in every sense of the word. It had passion, action, mystery, danger and so much more!

I loved getting to know each of Willow’s men more throughout this story. We got deeper glimpses into each of their lives. Exploring their passions, vulnerabilities, hopes and fears. Each of them have such unique personalities and bring depth and character to the story. Each make me swoon in their own way and the friendships they are building between one another are so adorable!

Willow continues to flood me with her strength and determination, but also with the vulnerability she has slowly allowed Silas, Deghan, Cameron and Sydney to see. Willow loves fiercely and her loyalty is truly astounding.

This series just continues to consume me. It’s like a living breathing entity that has captured me and I never want to be let go. The way Luna Pierce so eloquently writes, like the words are flowing off the pages, is truly beautiful. I get lost in the words and have grown completely attached to this story and these characters. It’s such a brilliant story that is so fabulously written that you can’t help but love it!

I’ll be (im)patiently awaiting book 3! I need more of this series so bad because it is that FANTASTIC!

Things are heating up for Willow and her 4 guys!

Willow doesn’t know who to trust, she battles some serious internal demons, learns a bit more about her magical powers and gets closer than ever to her guys.

To say I devoured this book would be a vast understatement. Putting it down was a difficult task! I have grown attached to each of the characters, especially the very broody puzzle that is Silas. I can’t wait for more! I’ll be stalking Luna’s Facebook page patiently waiting for any morsel of new information I can get.

This sweet girl just can't seem to catch a break; finding out she is a witch, voices in her head and loosing her BFF;s. The only good thing seems to be meeting and connecting with 4 hotties or has she connected with all of them and can they all be trusted?
Watching Willow go through these life altering lessons has been a great adventure that keeps you reading and wanting more.

What a great follow up from book one! I love that the author didn't go over the previous book in great detail, just enough to job my memory and remind me of why I loved these characters! This book has it all, some love some sexy times (could use more details, but that's a personal thing and nothing to do with the story itself). The plot line thickens and has left many unanswered questions, leaving me begging for more! I am really enjoying the development of the FMC, who is just getting more and more bad arse! Can't wait for the next one!

I absolutely loved this book. I can’t believe she keeps having to brake these curses by herself and no help from her family. Syd has horrible parents. I need backgrounders on all the guys plus her friends

This was a good read to pass the time. I enjoyed the narration and loved seeing the budding relationships. I don’t think the plot of this one was too intricate but I am definitely living for the magic and building romances. I look forward to the next installment.

Really good read

This continued story makes me happy. I love the RH dynamic, how all the relationships are building slowly and they all compliment each other. Very well written. Looking forward to book three.

This book is great. Willow learns more about herself, her magic and fighting new demons and coming even closer to her BFFs and the guys!!! Right not 1 guy damn shez got 4 hot guys 🔥

The character development is great. Willow as usual is a badass and CAM looks like a poor soul to me such a sweetheart , he is no complains no demands kinda guy just keeps on giving ❤️

But I have so many questions. The boys’ backstory - basically I want to know more about them. Yes willow is fighting her curses and putting together the pieces of the puzzle but damn I got no patience tell me moreee please......

And why do none of the guys specially Sydney and Silas answer her questions. Why not tell her (offcourse coz I’m dying to know 😋) what they know and give her a break from racking her brain all the time to figure things out on her own. And it gets intense coz Willow doesn’t know who to trust after all? Can she trust anyone??

Overall I just loved the book. And I definitely recommend. If you are fan of witches, werewolves, vamps, demons and all magic and curses do pick this beauty ❤️It keeps you reading and wanting more. Please give me some more intel Kate

Willow is having a hard time keeping her spirits up and 4 hot guys at a distance. Sydney her hot Witch, Silas the broody vampire, Deghan the loveable wolf shifter and Cameron the highly skilled chef and nice guy human.

Willow and her gang are still trying to figure out the Oliver curse. But Willow is troubled by voices in her head telling her she is not good enough for her friends and she’s only going to hurt them. Are the voices real or just Willows own thoughts telling her the truth. Now she’s starting to wonder who she can really trust?

Meh (possible spoilers)

I know I have really high expectations in books I read, and this is no exception. Before I get into my review, I do want to point out that my issues with this book are strictly personal preference and not because the book is poorly written.

Willow is regressing in my opinion. Instead of becoming stronger emotionally, she has turned into a sniveling introvert. It made no sense to me. How did she go from a happy, friendly person, into a raging lunatic who shoves everyone away? Yes, I get the whole mental curse. But, Willow appeared to be a mentally healthy person. She was loved growing up even though her mom was a little crazy. She had a friend, so it's not like she was unliked and had no friend relationships. I don't understand how the voice in her head could convince her that she was worthless and nobody liked her nor cared about her. She had guys who bent over backwards to do anything for her. Willow herself walked away from her girl friends because she wanted to protect them, so how the voice made her believe they didn't like her didn't make sense. I just felt that the whole premise of this book, due to the curse, weren't believable. It really made me dislike Willow because she chose to believe horrible things about people who had done nothing wrong to her. She believed the voice despite KNOWING that it was the curse. She acted terribly to her guys and it just made me feel like I didn't care what happened to her. If she was willing to drive everyone away and hurt them over something she knew was a curse, then she is weak and unworthy of the people in her life (just like the voice said). That being said, what is up with women characters feeling like they can't talk to anyone that cares about them? In this book the guys show her repeatedly that they care for her, yet at the first sign of personal struggle she chooses to shove them away an avoid them? I don't like it.

Basically, I'm enjoying the plot. There's nothing wrong with the writing. I just don't enjoy character regression and I feel that's exactly what happened in this book.

This is my review for the second book.

How many books is in this series?

So Silas is a vampire but we never see him drink blood. Like how is he alive anyway? Also, is there any lore about vampires in this series? I mean, he can walk under the sun so that's probably not a part of it.

So the first curse is about her ending her love while the second curse is the voices in her head. I can't wait for the other curses.

Why do I feel like she's fated with Silas? It's just the whole thing is giving that.

It's either he's part of the Laveau or Gardner coven.

I'm considering not finishing this series but I can't stand seeing unfinished series. Like I really need to read the whole series even though it's crappy.

Please don't tell me she's an angel. I'm going go crazy is she is. I remember watching reaction videos about the TVD books and how awful it was, and the worst part of it was Elena is a freaking angel. In short, I'm done with female leads being angels.

I don't know if I'll be reading the third book or even finish this series.

Willow can't enjoy being freed from her curse for long, with her life being in turmoil the way it is. A new curse rears its head, her men are keeping secrets, friendships are still struggling and knowing her father is somewhere out there changes the family dynamic she's always known. Will Willow find some answers along the way, or will she only encounter more questions and mysteries?

Cursed magic is the second book in the Harper Shadow Academy series, and picks up where the first one ended. I like the sweetness of the guys in Willow's life, even though they are keeping secrets from her. I have a soft spot for Deaghen and I hope her relationship with him will develop further in the next book. I don't know if I would be as open to Silas and Sydney as Willow is, with all the secrets they are keeping from her, but I do like how she stays devoted to them. I hope they'll start opening up to her soon. I'm curious to see what will come next!

I loved this after Hidden Magic.
Silas I still think is my favorite.
A PG rated reverse harem paranormal.
Back story*Willow attends a college after HS and doesn't know it's for supernaturals and humans. She thinks she's human, but she's really a witch. The school has vampires, witches, werewolves and of course humans. Willow has 4 guys all completey for her.
Definitely not spicy but heavy of the emotions toward each other.
I liked hearing more about different types of suoernsturals and how they are with other supernaturals ex. Vampires and witches together.
Hearing more about the curse and fate between Silas and Willow.
Great read. This is 2nd out of 5.
Hopefully the rest are as good as this.

so good

I loved this, it was such a quick read and a lot of stuff happened. Spice was minimal, but it was finally there a bit, more steam than spice I guess.
The relationships are getting deeper and we’re learning so much more about Willow and everyone she’s involved with. Silas is everything, he’s just so sweet and loving and strong. Deghan is absolutely precious with his Labrador puppy energy. Cameron is so ride or die and positive and I just love it. Sydney had me questioning some stuff but he came through in the end.

*SPOILER* when Willow manifested that weapon I was like 🥹🥹🥹

This is not a bad series, but it's just not for me.
I can't connect with the characters at all, especially the FMC.
I don't understand the relationship between the characters either. It isn't developped enough for me I guess, and the plot feels so trivial. The whole book, the curse is supposed to be impossible to break and then she breaks it out of nowhere.
The pace is so slow... I was bored so many times. I feel like I shouldn't get bored while reading a book that's less than 300 pages. It feels like reading chapters instead of a whole book.
I tried... Sorry 😓

EMPOWERMENT

I absolutely love this book more than the first book. Willow has definitely come into her own as a witch very quickly. The shocker and more knowledge that were learning about her bloodline just keeps getting more interesting. This series will definitely be a re-read for me again, and I wish I could experience it from a fresh perspective again. I will give it a 4.5. I wish I could give her 4.5, but I want to give a four out of five because I really wanted her relationship with Sydney to develop first.

sweet baby angels

Now there are more connections and even semi betrayals m. Willow is suffering side effects from her partial curse breaking in the span of her fighting to know what Silas is hiding when he can touch her now with no pain and won’t talk about fate. Sydney starts to proves he likes her and shows her with a kiss in the library but things go bonkers. Her mom who has been doing better since she has her magic back due to willows curse break she ups and disappears! What will happen next

This series continues to be a lot of fun. I'm really enjoying this young adult version of a why choose romance (not sure if it's staying YA, but I won't be mad if it doesn't 😂). I'm loving the magical aspect of this world, it seem pretty unique with the way it's set up.

The mystery starting to unfold around her parents has me super giddy. I can't wait to find out more.

The audio was great! Vanessa Moyen continues to do a wonderful job with this narration and I can't wait for book three.

I had a feeling this would happen after the last book. I’ll admit, I may be harsh for abandoning this series so quickly. One of the tropes that really bothers me is when children sacrifice their whole entire being, using a one-track, reckless mindedness to find a parent / save a parent (or sibling or friend) at the expense of everyone around them. I had hoped for growth. For learning more about these people. Instead we get a new “I gotta find my dad.” Girl, your mom is a grown woman. Let her find your dad.
