Being locked up in a cage and displayed to a bunch of naked male aliens isn’t very high up on my list of “things to do in space if I ever get there”—yet, here I am, and it’s not a good feeling.

So, I guess I should consider myself lucky when an even more masculine angry alien appears out of nowhere to ruin the fun for all the others because he decides to take me with him. I have no idea if this is good, bad, or simply horrendous…

I liked this short, sexy and hot sci-fi alien romance. Sasha wakes up naked in a cage with aliens trying to grope her thru the bars. She realizes that they are preparing to take her savagely and is crying and scared. She is rescued by Jarot, when the aliens don't give him the credits they promised for meat he brought them. He takes her as payment. He gives her a translator implant and let's her know she was in stasis for 357 years. Everyone she knew and lived is gone. Their attraction to each other grows over time. I liked how he bargained to keep her, but I wish he would've marked her as his mate in some way. Good ending.

gentle giant alien saves a human women and takes her on his ship to keep her safe.
attraction blooms the couple and when her wont make the first move she plays a trick on him to get him to admit the attraction all end with a HEA.

Ich hoffe noch so sehr auf ein Buch, dass mich überzeugen kann. Ich probiere es immer und immer wieder, dass mich die Autorin überzeugen kann, aber bisher war das leider nicht der Fall. Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich kein Fan von Kurzgeschichten bin.

Es geht hier um Sascha, die von der Erde entführt wird und nackt in einem Käfig aufwacht. Um sie herum sind insekten-ähnliche Aliens, die eine Art Fruchtbarkeitsritual abhalten und Sascha kapiert schnell das sie das Opfer sein wird und das es tödlich enden wird. Doch dann kommt Gerald ein Alien mit roter Haut und sonst einer ähnlichen Statue wie ein Mensch und rettet sie. Er ist ein Alien, der Aufträge im Weltall erfüllt und allein mit seinem Raumschiff unterwegs ist. Seine Rettung ist eigentlich eine Bezahlung für nicht erhaltenen Lohn, aber er ist ein netter Kerl und kann Sascha nicht als seine Sklavin sehen und sie ausnutzen. Er versorgt ihre Wunden und führt sie langsam in das Leben im Weltall ein. Erotisch wird es erst bei etwa 80% des Hörbuches und da nahm das ganze dann auch eine eher negative Wendung für mich. Gerald war die ganze Zeit zwar ein bisschen grummelig aber sonst sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Sobald sie im 'Schlafzimmer' landen wird er plötzlich vulgär dominant, was für mich so gar nicht zu seinem vorherigen Charakter passte. Außerdem kann ich auf vulgäre Aussprache, vor allem im Deutschen, sehr gut verzichten. Außer dem Dirty Talk hatte die erotische Szene auch nichts zu bieten.
Niedlich war dann wieder das Ende, aber die vulgäre Sprache hat mir das ganze dann leider doch zu sehr verdorben. Ansonsten wäre das wirklich ein 4 Sterne Buch gewesen, so kann ich dem ganzen aber leider nur 3 Sterne geben. Ich denke wenn ich es im Original gehört hätte, wäre es nicht so schlimm gewesen mit dem Bettgeflüster.
Nora Edwins ist das Pseudonym von Mia Kingsley bzw. Natalie Rabengut, von der ich bereits „Das erste Date“ gelesen und geliebt habe. Das ist mir aber erst im Nachhinein aufgefallen. Auch da hatte ich bereits die vulgäre Sprache kritisiert. Es scheint also ein gängiges Stilmittel der Autorin zu sein.
Die Sprecherin, Emilia Schilling, fand ich etwas anstrengend, weil sie Sascha sehr weinerlich darstellte, aber es war noch im Rahmen so dass ich es genießen konnte.

Got this for free via Bookfunnel and it was a short and enjoyable story. I wanted to read something quick and steamy and this did not disappoint. If I read it in an Anthology, I would be very pleased since it's interesting and well written (though It could be a bit longer).
