When Alana isn't writing, it's likely that she's on the floor wrestling with her kids. Or playing outside with her kids. Or chauffeuring her kids. Or trying some random science experiment with her kids. But she's probably not cooking or cleaning.

Alana is a homeschooling mother of three who loves to write, hates to cook, and enjoys reading a good book almost as much as she enjoys writing one.

Alana won the Women of Faith writing contest for "The Beloved Daughter," her debut inspirational novel. "What, No Sushi?" is Alana's first book in a chapter-book series for kids published by Do Life Right, Inc.

What could be better on a cold winter’s night (or a rainy one, as the case may be) than a good suspense novel? One of my favorite genres, it’s not one that I’ve had a chance to read much of in the past year or so, which makes each opportunity more tantalizing. The author is one I’ve heard very positive comments about, and I knew that I had to find out for myself whether or not I would agree. Suspense is often a difficult category because there are so many tropes and hackneyed plots that once you’ve read enough of them, you can recognize where a story is heading within the first chapter or two. Not always, though!

A dynamic psychological thriller, Alana Terry’s “Forget Me Now” begins in medias res and continues with unrelenting action. Centering around recent high-school graduate Mia, this story explores the aftermath of a traumatic brain injury that has resulted in an inability to make new memories. Unfortunately, Mia also has amnesia regarding the cause of her trauma, which puts her life in danger. While this is not a new theme, Terry infuses it with originality by using a unique first-person narration in which the narrative reads like a diary. Mia directly addresses the audience, but in a style reminiscent of a diary format (albeit lacking dated entries) rather than a person-to-person conversation. As such, more personal details and thoughts populate the story, immersing readers in an increasingly disquieting chain of events.

“Forget Me Now” provides an adrenaline-fueled reading experience that is appropriately discomfiting without crossing over into the territory of a horror novel. Terry adroitly constructs a focused backstory for Mia that continues to the final chapter, and most chapters end on a gripping note. Flashbacks occur throughout the narrative and are not delineated from the rest of the narrative, which I would normally take issue with, but in this case it works well. The same can be said of scene repetitions, which are necessary to the plot. Heavily laced with foreshadowing, this novel will raise the hairs on your neck from page one. While I correctly identified the perpetrator in chapter one, the details and execution of the plot kept me engaged, as did attempting to figure out whether Mia is a reliable narrator: “Maybe I’m not me at all. How can you be yourself when you’ve forgotten half of the things that made you you?” Morever, the faith element gently underpins the story, strengthening toward the denouement and leaving readers with sage advice regardless of life’s vicissitudes: “I need to remember when life gets hard to look past my own circumstances. To see past my own fears and pain. To remember that no matter how bleak life gets, God is good, and God is with me.”

I'm new to audio books, so maybe that is why I'm not very impressed. The narrator is very flat and kinda boring. However, the storyline was pretty good. It really held my attention. I'll likely get anther one of hers from the library and see if reading her style is better than listening to it.

Forget me now

In Forget me now Mia has a memory loss. Her boyfriend and mom are dead but she doesn’t remember what happened.

Once i started reading the book i didn’t want to stop. The first few chapters start out the same. Saying how she loved Springtime and about going to the senior trip. That was because she couldn’t remember anything else. Will she ever be able to remember what happened?

This book is a great mystery. I was very surprised of who did it. Read the book to see what you think.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. This book review is my own opinion.

This series of books is written for a (much) younger audience than I am. Great Christian messages, especially if you’re a new believer. A quick easy read.

Terry is good at creating stories. Here she allows us to discover the facts of a past event along with Mia, the main character. We really get a sense of short term memory loss, waking up each day not remembering what happened the day before. Terry did a good job of creating that feeling. The suspense is secondary, from memories, not from the current situation.

The plot resolution was no surprise to me as I felt readers are well prepared for the revelation of the villain. The story is not very uplifting as it deals with the loss of loved ones. The best part of the novel is Mia thinking through theological issues and a strong faith message is presented there.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

I feel like I’m in the minority with this one but it just didn’t work for me. I found myself wanting to get to the end, not because I was so engrossed in the story and couldn’t wait to see how it all ends but because I was hoping the ending would redeem the rest of the book. Unfortunately, it did not. This was my first book by this author and though I didn’t enjoy this particular book I do want to try others by her.

This had to be my favorite book that I have read by Alana Terry. It was very hard to put down. There were so many twists and turns that I was not expecting. It would be very hard to lose your current memories. This book deals with a lot of issues that are well covered. I received a copy of this book from Celebratelit for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I am not a huge fan of amnesia stories because authors tend to drag the story line on unnecessarily. In this book I felt like the author did a good job of using amnesia in a way that enhances the story. Everyday Mia wakes up and thinks it is three months earlier. She knows that she is suppose to be at her parents cabin celebrating graduation with her boyfriend and friends. Why is she laying in her bed with a horrible headache and no memory of what has happened over several months? Her dad is acting strange and her brother is home which makes no sense to Mia.

Mia is a good character with flaws that are revealed as the story progresses. She loves her boyfriend but I couldn't quite understand why she would not tell someone about the life her boyfriend endures at home. It disappointed me that she didn't take a stand and tell someone about how dangerous her boyfriends dad is to him. I also wanted to know more about Mia's mom.

My favorite character in the story is Chris. He is deep rooted in his faith and has a calling on his life. He wants Mia to share his future with him. Everything changes one fateful day. The twists in the story are quick and adrenaline rushing. At one point I started to suspect everyone close to Mia when she goes through a traumatic event. If you watch the news you know family members are the first to be suspected . In this story the author spreads doubt to lead readers off the trail of the suspect. I did have an idea who was behind everything but I never expected the turn of events and the reason behind the killings.

The best part and the sad part of the story is when Mia remembers what happened. Her heart is shattered but she is surrounded by the love of her church family and especially the pastor's wife. I don't want to give too much away but I have to say that even in death a person can make a difference.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Her memories will lead only to betrayal and death...

I have to say that I was a bit surprised by Forget Me Now despite having read most of Alana Terry's Christian suspense novels. Not only did it have more of a psychological thriller element but in some ways it almost felt like a YA book for older teens. The heroine is a fairly typical teen who worries about the typical teen stuff, graduation in a few days, college acceptance, she and her boyfriend going to different colleges...and then her world falls apart in a very dramatic way.

I really liked the title, Forget Me Now, as it perfectly describes the book. Mia or 'Mimi' wakes up each morning having forgotten everything from the last 3 months. Over and over she has to deal with the trauma and grief of losing loved ones. You seriously have to feel for this girl, kid really, having to deal with the pain of loss and the danger from a killer whom she may be able to identify.

Alana Terry has done a great job telling a chilling thriller of a story in the voice of a teenager. She's still a kid but as the lies begin to unravel in her life she has to make some adult decisions, for faith and for justice. The only teensy negative I found while reading was that I had to pay very careful attention to the start of each chapter as parts of the story were in the present tense and some were flashbacks. A few times I had to skip back to the beginning of the chapter to figure out if it was a flashback or not.

If you are a fan of Alana Terry or if you want to introduce her books to a mid/older teen Forget Me Not would be the perfect choice. The book is fairly short, fast-paced, and for me it was a quick, but chilling, read. So, check it out....if you dare...

My Thoughts on Forget Me Now:
I absolutely love Alana Terry as an author. Her books are amazing and will keep you reading until the last word. They contain suspense and mystery but also solid gospel truths.

This book was excellent just like her other ones. It took a bit to figure out and a lot of it was repetitive because it would have been for the family taking care of Mia as they have to either keep telling her what happened or they have to pretend like it’s the time she thinks it is.

I was shocked by the ending and would love to see a second book featuring Mia so that I could know what happens to her next because you’ve finally got her healed and ready to move on, but you don’t get to see her finish the healing and actually move on with her life. I want to know where she is now! And I would love to know if there are any side effects still lingering from the medication she was given.

I’m having a hard time telling about the parts of the story I loved the most without giving away the entire plot and story.

Let me just say this. Sometimes the most unlikely people have the most to hide and the ones you expect to be hiding things are the ones you can trust. How’s that for a twist?

Definitely recommend this book. It gets harder and harder to put down the further along you get. When I was close to the end I simply had to finish because I had to know what happened next!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book that I have read by this talented author, but I must admit that I believe this novel is the best yet! Alana has a special talent of writing out of the ordinary plots that keep one glued to the page from beginning to end. What can I say about this book??? It is full of suspense and mystery that kept reading long past my bedtime. How would I feel if I woke up one morning with no memory of what had occurred in the past three months???? Scary, terrified, confused! Nothing made sense!

The main character, Mia, grabbed me and pulled me into her life from the moment she awoke. She was described in such realistic detail that I felt her every fear and terror. The flashbacks that the author used gave me a deep understanding of Mia and her life before and after. I walked alongside Mia as she tried to make some sense of her life and understand her past.

The plot was full of unexpected twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I have to admit that I tuned out of the real world for a while as I walked alongside Mia on her tough journey of life. The ending of this novel was a complete surprise. Nothing I expected happened!

ALthough it seems to be a somewhat depressing, sad tale, there is an underlying message of hope that all Christians have. That is the only thing that keeps us going in times of trial. What would we do without hope in our Lord?

I highly recommend this book to all who enjoy suspense and mysteries.

Definitely a five star book!!

Who can she trust when she can’t even remember?

How does one unpack a story like Forget Me Now ? Mystery, suspense, murder, darkness in every corner, and the loss of two people who held a pivotal role in Mia’s life plague the lines of the pages in this book.

I wish I could tell you that there was something in it I could relate to, but there isn’t. I wish I could tell you that it made me feel something that may have been life-changing, but there wasn’t. I wish I could say that without a doubt I understood every element in the story, But I can’t. What I can tell you is that it was gripping and entertaining and putting it down after it was finished left me wondering where her life would take her now. I mean seriously, how would you handle waking up one day and not know where you were, who you could trust, and where are two of the most important people in your life were?

I did struggle with the point of you that the author wrote in. It may be on purpose or accidental but I found it frustrating at times. I’m sure we were supposed to put ourselves in the main characters mind but I just couldn’t get there. That being said, it didn’t take away from wanting to know where the story was going next. And let me tell you, you won’t see the plot twist towards the end coming.

As someone growing up reading Nancy Drew, mystery has always been one of my favorite genres. The suspense, the intrigue, the twists and turns make me never want to put a mystery novel down. Unfortunately, I had a harder time getting into Alana Terry’s Forget Me Now. I’m not saying that the book wasn’t interesting-the further I got, the better I liked it and more I got into it. The beginning was where I had a hard time.

The climax of the book and the ending, though, I really did enjoy. As with any good mystery, Alana Terry did not reveal everything at once. She kept you on the edge of your seat, wondering what happened and who did it. At this point, I didn’t want to put it down.

Terry also does a great job at pulling at the reader's emotions and showing that there is still hope in Christ. Her message is clear: everything that happens in our lives, whether good or bad, is for God. It may be hard to see at times, it may be hard to understand, but it’s true. We just have to trust in Him. It’s a good message, and one that we need to be reminded of. Unfortunately, we all face trials. But we have to remember that there is a bigger picture and bigger God who has a perfect will for our lives.

There were a couple of things that I didn't like about this story, and that is simply me and not the story. I don't like reading a lot of cogitation but rather like dialogue and action. There is quite a bit of cogitation in this story. I tried listening to it on text to speech on my Kindle and it felt like the main character was just rambling - it's a lot different when I read it with the paragraph breaks. Now, onto the story.

Mia was attacked and now has short term memory loss - well, every day is lost since the day of the attack. When Mia wakes up in the morning she notes the beautiful Spring day and how excited she is to get started on her way to her senior trip to their cabin - she wakes up to this scene every morning.

The police want to know what happened to Mia that day and why is her mom dead and her boyfriend Chris on the run. As the story goes on things become more and more clear but it isn't until the end that we get the whole picture and it is rather surprising.

This is a clean read as well as an intense read.

This thrilling story grabbed me from the get go, and I read the novel in an afternoon. It’s a compelling suspense that keeps you wondering. The author does a marvelous job slowly unfolding the past to fill in the gaps so readers gradually understand the whole picture. Eighteen-year-old Mia wakes up one day expecting to go to her family’s lakeside cabin for her senior skip day. Only, a tragic accident has occurred, and she can’t remember anything from the past three months. Where is her mom and her boyfriend? As images from the past slowly emerge, danger may accompany them. Can Mia ever recall exactly what happened that day? The true-to-life characters and the masterful plot offer a great read. The book has plenty of surprises to keep your heart thumping and your mind racing, wondering how it will all turn out. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

‘Remember no matter how bleak life gets - God is good and God is with me.’ - Mia

What an incredible story! My imagination had it all figured out...and I was so very wrong!! Mia is a young lady on the cusp of adulthood, graduating from high school and heading for college. With skip day ahead, she and her friends have everything all planned out. A bump on the head, lots of blood and suddenly she has absolutely no memory of what happened. Imagine being given bad news every day because you can’t remember hearing it yesterday. The author has done a fabulous job of leading the reader to conclusions that are totally wrong. What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon!

Filled with interesting moments I love the course of the story and the fact that there was really no idea who the culprit really was at first. It was interesting to see the turn of events as the book progressed and I was glad with the way things turned out. Mia has been through an ordeal, I watched her struggle to find the truth behind her mother and boyfriend's death despite the odds against her and the testimony that Chris left behind was a really compelling on pushing us to think about what impact we would leave behind for the people coming after us or even those we meet daily.

This book is one of those that you cannot seem to shake after you have read it.

The plot itself is not a new one, but I think Alana Terry added some great mystery to it. It also came with some good twists towards the end of the book. The book dealt with some sad subjects which I think added to the overall realism quality of it. We all have to die at some point, and we do need to think about what legacy we want to leave behind. I liked how Alana Terry kind of lead us through the main character’s thought process as well. It was an interesting view; one I am still trying to decide whether I like or not 😊.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for the good mystery, subject matter, and for leaving me thinking.

Forget Me Now by author Alan Terry is a faith based psychological thriller which keeps the reader guessing. This is the first book by Alan Terry I have read and won't be my last one. I enjoy reading Christian based suspense or thrillers. There are very few which keep my attention and this author has wonderful promise! This is not your typical plot and is not an "all is well" happy ending. I feel an author has been successful if a book leaves me thinking about the story long after I have finished reading, even if the plot is not what I expected.
The kindle version I read did need a few edits.
Thank you to Alana Terry for the opportunity to read and review this book!

This book. Yes, she has amnesia and yes, she is in danger. Yep, I know that's a well-done plot, but oh my goodness I liked this one. I felt so much for this young woman. Mia is stuck in the proverbial looping day, but it's not a fun day. It's a major mess. God still never leaves us, but Mia is having to learn to trust Him. Who is trying to kill her, how will she ever remember or stay safe? I definitely didn't see the ending coming. I can't wait to see what Terry writes next, but this book will stick with me for a while.

This is one I won't forget for a while!

I love to get lost in an Alana Terry book! Forget Me Now was great. I loved reading this story unfold, especially the way it did. Telling the story from a first-person perspective, Ms. Terry included flashbacks to add such depth to this story! It definitely made me understand Mia's thoughts and feelings better. I would've never guessed the ending of the story either. While it is such a sad, depressing story -- it definitely didn't leave me feeling that way. I realize now that it was the Christian beliefs of Mia and Chris, the message of hope, that ending up teaching me in the end.

This is one of my favorite books I have read by Alana. It’s a super quick read but so impactful and good.
It totally had the 50 First Dates vibe. Pretty early on I knew something was going on that was being hidden from Mia. I bounced back and forth between who I thought hurt her and her mother. Alana did a great job making that a mystery.
I had to hold back tears at the end but I can’t share too much about why because that might give too much away. But I love how she worked the Gospel message in to the book and the impact one life can have.
Five stars for this one!!

Alana Terry writes thrilling suspense that will keep you wondering how it will work out. Stories where the MC had amnesia are usually a hit or miss with me (mostly miss). Mainly because it is difficult to write effectively and has been done a gazillion times. But this one has everything that one loves in an inspirational thriller – mystery, danger, a dash of faith.

I had a hard time really connecting to this story. I’m not sure why. Overall I enjoyed the fast paced thriller. That plot twist near the end. Oh my, what a way to nail the ending.

If you haven’t read one of Alana Terry’s novels, I highly recommend you check this one out.

”Forget Me Now" by Alana Terry kept me reading to the end. The ending made me both happy and sad. I especially like the part that was the sermon preached at a funeral, I hope when my time come people can say the same thing about me, that my life was a sermon and that people could see Jesus in me.

This book has a plot that many movies had, the character keeps reliving a certain day upon waking up. A couple of times while reading I was thinking I know who the bad guy was and well, I was particularly right but I was so wrong also.

If you like mystery then this book is for you!

What a story! I could hardly put it down. Mia wakes up in the morning and learns that her mother is dead. Gradually, through the day, she realizes that she has been told the same thing every day for a couple of months...and forgotten it again by the next day. I found myself rooting for her to finally remember what happened on that day in May—and totally shocked by the truth that was revealed when she finally did remember. I loved having Sandy and Detective Drisklay in the story, after meeting them in other books. If you enjoy suspense, you'll enjoy this book.

This book by Alana Terry kept me interested right to the end. It is a combination of romance, suspense and family tragedy, which touches a bit on all the genres she writes and also includes characters from other books - some playing a prominent role like Detective Drisklay and Sandy and others in the background, like Carl and Wong. It was not my favourite read by this author, as she has some AMAZING reads in her finished works, but this one is written a bit differently and it is well worth the read. It is clean, it has suspense and it has 'God lessons', and it will hold your attention to the end.

Well-done, Alana Terry!

Another fantastic book by Alana Terry

I was hestitant6to buy and read this book because I read a bad review on it; however I'm so glad that I did! The story is a bit repetitive, but that shows you what the character was going through. Finally, this isn't a happily ever after story (and it is kind of heart-breaking actually), but I think that the ending was perfect in it's own way.

This book is a great reminder that our time on earth is short and we need to treat each day as a gift from God.

Fairly short YA suspense novel. No sex or graphic violence. Clean and no cussing. Lot’s of twists and turns. There are phrases she uses over and over that get a little repetitive. Definitely directed at a teen audience which I didn’t realize until a chapter or so in but I was hooked and wanted to find out what was going on. I’m not sure if this is the author’s first book but it reads like it is and could have done with a good editor in my unlearned opinion. I enjoyed it enough to take a look at her other books and see if she writes for a adult audience as well.

This is the first story I have read by Alana Terry and I was blown away! Alana Terry was able to captivate my attention from the beginning to the end. Not only was I captivated, I also did not guess what had happened until the last bit. It was a well drawn out and perfectly time suspense! The characters are well developed and the story line flows wonderfully.
