Westin Force #2

Rising Storm

Rate this book
Almost since her first shift, Emma has lived in her fur as a leader amongst the gorillas in Africa. With her kind nearing extinction she worked tirelessly to protect and guide her band. Even when that meant sacrificing herself to the Raglan.

They hadn’t been looking for another shifter, just a strong beast that would make them a lot of money in illegal underground animal cage fighting to further their experiments on shifters. Instead, they got Emma. The abusive treatment she witnessed and experienced at their hands only solidified her decision to remain in her fur forever.

When Bravo team arrives to shut them down, her knight in shining armor appears and saves her. His name is Painter. He’s strong, caring, and likes things neat and orderly, just like Emma. She can’t help her growing feelings for him but must remain vigilant in her quest to return to her band at all costs.

She hasn’t lived in her skin for a very long time. She doesn’t always understand the meaning behind things people say. She’s quirky and moves to the beat of her own drum. Gorilla or human form, Painter accepts her exactly as she is. It’s more than she could have ever dreamed.

When Painter is called away for another mission her chance to escape finally arrives, but can she take it? Will she leave the man she’s growing to love for the gorillas she was forced to leave behind?

Until Emma, as far as Painter knew there were only two known gorilla shifters remaining: him and his team leader, Silas Granger. Now he’ll do anything to make his mate happy, even if that means losing her. Will he be able to show her that living in the human world isn’t all bad? Or if she still decides to leave, can he love her enough to let her go?

Emma is a gorilla shifter from Africa who has spent most of her life in her fur. She sacrificed herself to save her band from the Raglan. When Westin Force shows up to close down Raglan operations Emma finds her true mate among the Westin Force men. Painter is blindsided by the intense attraction to Emma and it takes him a while to accept what is really happening. Emma is feeling the same way but she is confused, she has never felt this way before plus she has responsibilities to her band and is not sure what she wants to do, stay with Painter or return to Africa. Painter is sent on a mission, will Emma take her chance and leave to be with her band or will she remain and give them a chance to get to know each other? Since Emma has spent so many years in her gorilla form she is not well versed on human social skills but Painter accepts her as she is. The two main characters both have back stories that make this book a compelling read. I love this book, the story is original and the characters are amazing.

OMG! Another action-packed, shifter must read with a fresh new storyline! ... “Rising Storm” is the 2nd fantastic Westin Force book & a spin-off from the awesome ‘Westin Pack’ series, but has even more action, different shifters & adventure and suspense! With relatable characters, both new and some old friends, the H/h, Painter & Emma, and the always present witty dialogue brings this story to life! ... Can’t forget to mention the fantastic descriptions with some surprise twists & turns, but I’m sure that readers will be glued to their seats and turning pages fast like I did! :D ... I never write spoilers or recap blurbs, and even tho I always volunteer to read this author's books, it is without any outside influences, and these are my honest feelings! Also, I try to buy her kindle books whenever I can, so I do honestly recommend this to all adult 18+ fans of fiction & now I can't wait for more, but of course I will!

Another great book

I loved the previous books and loved this one just as much. I fell in love with the westin pack from the first book and was taken by the world this author created so it was no brainer to continue reading the rest of the series and was so happy when she moved on to the collier pack and was dreading when the series was going to end cause i wanted to see more of these characters so when westin force came out I was so thrilled cause Ms Trettel doesn't disappoint she enthralls you with the world she created and keeps you on your toes wanting to read more and more.

When the team takes Painter to Vegas for his birthday, they run into unexpected problems. It seems the Raglans have begun underground animal cage-fighting with animals and shifters. All it takes is two seconds for Painter to realize the silverback being led in is mate.

It’s been over a decade since Emma shifted to human. ‘Allowing’ herself to be captured so others could escape, Emma refused to let the Raglans confirm she’s a shifter. Raglan mistreatment, plus her mother’s words that humans ‘suck’, don’t make Emma anxious to change into her human skin though Painter’s kinda cute and she wouldn’t mind him being around.

Another great read in the world of shifters. I really enjoyed Painter and Emma’s story, a bit different as they’re Gorilla shifters but really enjoyable. I enjoyed the plot, story and characters which always make these reads amazing. I love how all the books seem to inhabit all the previous characters while focusing on one particular romance. Some angst, but overall lots of sweet romantic moments. Some funny banter and the love scenes are not crude, just right. Can’t wait to continue the series.

Heart warming and action packed.

Loved Julie’s intake on the gorilla shifters & the way she went back to their roots in the wild. Perfect.

The main story between Painter and Emma is heart warming from the beginning and full of passion, as expected. 😉

The Westin Force is fast becoming a winner in my books, and that’s nothing to do with the fact my name sake is in there, baddie or not. Haha. The team are close knit and come together fiercely - to protect and serve justice.

Can’t wait for book three... Please hurry!

Rising Storm was such an adventure, this story follows the perspective of Painter a member of the Westin Force as he's on a mission to save shifters that are being forced to fight in the ring. But the rescue mission doesn't go as expected when one of the shifters turns out to be his mate. I loved getting to see Painter and Emma fall in love, I can't wait for the release of book three.

Ooh Gorilla

XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. Emma was being held in captivity and forced to participate in illegal animal fights. She was being put against a male silverback. Seems deadly. Painter was a silverback shifter and in town for his birthday. Or so he thought. Little did anyone know Emma was his OTM and the job they were springing on him would set his gorilla off.

Nice and sweet

I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this one, I'd never read about gorilla shifter and i wasn't sure I would enjoy it. In the end, the way Julie Trettel brings it up is great and really sets the pace for the rest of the story.

As usual, the world building is excellent, the pace captivating and the emotions so well written. Tears, gaps, blushes and laughs guaranteed. Loved it !

What’s not to love about this book? NOTHING! Fans of Julie Trettel’s books will not be disappointed with Painter’s and Emma’s story. I laughed and cried and wish it could have lasted longer. It was the perfect length though, not to long or drawn out. It was as P.T. Barnum always said... Leave them wanting more. And this book did!

We get more info, more characters development, we get glimpses of the characters for the next books. And I just want more.
Painter and Emma are the new couple and they are both gorillas. The love we see is different of the other books. I just can’t with how much I love it

Great story

It was Painter’s bday but it turn out to be a rescue mission. Then it was the best day ever for him, he met his mate. It was hard on him to watch what was going on in the cage and he lost it @ one point when his team had to hold him back. You will have to read to find out the rest.

Loved love love

Painter and Emma's story is really good! I enjoy learning about the different animals and what they do differently. The way Emma took to he triples was precious until she was no longer a novelty. Typical reactions. Overall it's a really good story. I can do without the animal abuse but that's what they are trying to stop as well. I love this team and the pack.

Rising Storm (Westin Force Book 2)

The love story of Emma and Painter. Emma is a shelter gorilla, all thought that Painter and his brother were the last of them. Westin Force was on a raid of an illegal animal fighting ring where they find Emma. Painter has found his mate and wants to kill everyone is hurting her. Can he save here? Great story.

One more exciting addition to this amazing series. The Westin Force is still trying to shut down the raglan group and save the Shifters they are holding. They find more than they expected this time!

Aww so sweet!

I love all the Westins, but there was just something extra special about Painter and Emma's story. They are now one of my favorite couples. I’ve already read Baine's story, so now patiently waiting for Silas' story.

Another great one, as another team member finds his mate on the job - Love the whole series, would recommend reading Westin Pack first before Collier Pack, ARC Shifters and Westin Force, as it makes the characters fall into place and make sense with no spoilers
