Tucked in the rugged hills of limestone and granite in Texas Hill Country sits Bradford Academy, boarding school to the offspring of Texas’ elite. Bradford Academy houses and shapes the minds of the sons and daughters of senators, oil tycoons, large ranch owners and foreign billionaires. These kids are filthy rich, entitled and authority means nothing to them. They can have anything they want, go anywhere they want and do anything they want. Even get away with murder.

Fallon Gamble used to believe that life was simple until she found herself in the halls of Bradford Academy. All of her illusions about the world she lived in went straight to hell as soon as she stepped foot on that campus. At Bradford Academy, the only thing that matters is your family legacy and WHAT or WHO you're willing to do to preserve it.

Things are far from simple now. Now, Fallon is caught in the viper's den with a power-hungry egomaniac out to destroy her, a dangerous secret that's eating her alive and she's torn between three of the hottest, wealthiest boys on campus. The only thing for her to do now is survive...anyway she can.

I went into this novel blindly, so when I discovered while reading that this was a super sexy and sizzling hot read I was so excited! This reads more like a reverse harem but filled with mystery and intrigue about the Bradford Elite.

The Bradford academy is one of the most exclusive and rich private academies. Only billionaires and powerful families attend. It is like a completely different reality, in a way it reminds me of gossip girl. We follow the story of teenage heirs to this immense heritage, who act like they own the world, spending thousands and thousands on superfluous things, and family name is the most important thing.

The two best things about this novel are the characters and the chemistry. If you enjoyed Gossip Girl, you will understand what I'm talking about. Everyone is hot, charming, seductive, the characters all have an amazing backstory, they all have motives and desires. Just like Fallon, our main character, I was completely hooked to these glorious human beings. This novel reads like a game of seduction and power. Fallon is new to the academy and has not lived this life of fortune, since she only recently discovered to be the heir of one of the richest families. We dive into this world with Fallon and fall for all these gorgeously charming and sexy academy boys. I am so so eager for book 2!

This particular book I have had sitting on my kindle for at least over a year now and it was one I wanted to read but just never felt like the right time. I am in two minds now that I have read it. I did enjoy the storyline and got sucked into the story but of course, it ended on a major cliffhanger and the downside for me is that the author hasn't in the last two years since this book was released - published the sequel as she had initially planned :(. I hate when that happens. The other thing that frustrated me was that this book had quite a few of the same spelling errors throughout and simple ones too. Dare is a Bullymance with a twist as it has our poor girl Fallon Gamble's mother dying and then leaves her discovering the truth about her dad's side of the family - that they are one of the richest families in Texas. Fallon heads to her father's hometown and meets her grandfather. Fallon is the only heir to the Gamble fortune and is thrust into the world of wealth where $100K is chump change. As Fallon's family is top of the wealth chain, she will find herself a target from bullies, but also earn the affection of all the top bachelors and hotties of Bradford Academy. Is Fallon ready for this world or is she too nice? Find out what happens when a Dare goes wrong and she is now faced with the decision of a lifetime - to do what is lawfully right or keep her mouth shut to protect her family name and others around her? Is Fallon ready to admit that the world of the wealthy has different rules than everyone else? Find out in Dare by Rowdy Rooksy.

If you dare....

I saw this book being promoted on IG and thought it looked interesting. High school, bully, RH academy... Sold. The book itself is packaged beautifully. Each chapter has a graphic at the beginning. All of this pulls you in before you even get started on the story. The characters are diverse and complex. Nothing is what it seems on the surface.

Fallon is the MFC. She's quiet, sweet, grieving but has an inner strength. She captivates these rich entitled kids just by being herself. Real and genuine. Everything is dependent on family name at Bradford. Fallon is thrown into the world of the elite and she has no clue what to expect. I love that she is Biracial. I love seeing more representation in the RH community.

The Pure bloods rule the school. There are the classic mean girls with the head queen, Bexley. She's vile and doesn't want to give up her throne. Bullying is done by the mean girls, not really by the guys. They aren't really nice in the beginning, but they don't really go out of their way to target her either. Fallon is able to make 2 friends though that help her navigate her new world, Devya and Harlyn. The boys are referred to as magnificent three by Fallon: Alisander, Zade, and Lucca. Zade is the mysterious bad boy. Lucca is the all American football star. Alisander is the party boy. They all incite Fallon in different ways. Lucca is the most outwardly pursuing her. Zade acts distant, but he feels a connection. Alisander is connected to Bexley, but he keeps drawing closer to her. Zade though 🥰 I also feel that with Harlyn being bisexual that there might be a love connection there as well.

So things get real interesting once there is the Dare party. Family lines are put to the test and you must finish your date or pay the consequences. Family shame and ruin. Fallon is not sure what to do, but things quickly escalate afterwards. The ending is a bit cliffy. Something big happens and we are left with wondering what the outcome will be... Single narration. Mild steam at this point, but will escalate as relationships develop. Some typos, but nothing grievous. It does not distract from the story. Invested in this story and what Fallon will do! If you are looking for a light bully academy with some twists, then read this book! Great debut by a new author.

I really enjoyed this book and the inaugural introduction to the world of Bradford Academy! This is one of those books that when you read it, you instantly say “Oh I can definitely see this on Netflix.” The writer tells a story in a way that is not only entertaining but visually stimulating. These characters, their surroundings, the events all feel very real and draw you in.

Also I always say the sign of a really great writer is writing characters so well that they make you love or hate everyone with that name in real life and If I ever meet anyone named Bexley I’m throat punching them on sight, LOL. But seriously what a horrible person! Honestly a lot of these kids are jerks but with some redeemable qualities. Bexley, not a one! Like I literally found myself genuinely concerned for Fallon the main character, in her dealings with Bexley but also annoyed and anxiously waiting for Fallon’s backbone to kick in and I’m not even going to start with her love life.

So overall, really great storyline , really great writing and I can’t wait until the next book because I have a lot of questions and conspiracies that I need answered and some scores I need to see settled!

In Dare, Purebloods rule the school, and Bexley leads them. She's wicked, and she and her friend get off on bullying. However, she is not the catch of the magnificent three; that pleasure goes to Fallon. She starts to get entangled with those 3 boys named Alisander, Zade, and Lucca. They each have their own way of engaging with her, leaving you waiting for the next engagement and conflict with which one is good for her. This book is more than romance but about family ties, heirs and entitlement.

Overall, remarkably comprehensive storyline, absolutely fabulous novel-writing, and I enjoyed the inclusivity and representation. This book had me searching out if the next was available to read. Rowdy Rooksy is now an author I will keep an eye on for future reads and perhaps join one of the authors I add to my fave list in the future.

A story about a teenage girl whose mother dies, leaving her to be brought up by a paternal grandfather, that she has never met before. She grew up middle class and all of a sudden she was heir to a 70 billion dollar dynasty. She gets sent off to an exclusive boarding school for the, wealthy, powerful and elite. She is hated for being an outcast and bullied by the teens in charge. She must learn to do whatever it takes to survive and make her family proud. A great story that I read in a few hours. Addictive reading. I could hardly put it down.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.
