She expected a boring post babysitting scientists. She got an intergalactic war and a one-way trip to a distant universe.
Space marine Anela was shuffled off to the U.N. station Shangris after accidentally punching a superior officer during a bar fight. They thought they were punishing her, relegating her to a career languishing under monotonous patrols and tedious paperwork. Boy, were they wrong. Three days after landing on the station, two warring alien ships dropped out of nowhere, plowing a path of destruction that included the Shangris and leaving the few survivors far from Earth with no way to get home. Never one to sit idle during a fight, Anela was more than willing to join the war effort against some slimy alien bad guys in her new universe. She thought she was done with curve balls—and then fate sent her Brak. A distraction wrapped in a blue skinned hunk and tied with a bow of fabulous skills.
As a Ka’atari warrior, Brak was no stranger to risking his life for the Alliance. He’d been at war his entire adult life and was a seasoned soldier. So he never expected to get caught during a mission aboard an enemy ship, and he certainly never expected his rescue to be in the form of the small human he’d helped rescue a few months before. He knew human women had a higher chance of being a genetic match for Ka’atari, and therefore a higher chance of bearing a warrior’s child, but when he didn’t rhun with a survivor, he threw himself into the effort to find a way to Earth. Then Anela found him, broken in a million ways, and as she put him back together, he wondered if he needed a genetic mate to be happy.
The Alliance and the other survivors are counting on them to find a way to Earth, fate seems to conspire against them (or is it bringing them together?), and an alien pet shows up just in time to throw a wrench into the whole plan.
This is book two of the Ka’atari Warriors. You can jump in anytime (there’s a brief recap of the story so far listed in the contents), but it’s best to start with book one: Kiran. This novella has a guaranteed happily ever after and no cheating.
Great second book of the Ka'atari Warriors series. This one is about a human marine, a Ka'atari warrior, and a very protective dragon. There's suspense, deceit, and lots of steam.
Give the dog a treat, please. Brak's book is as good as the first book. Some that's not the case. Good continuation of the series without feeling like it's continued. A stand alone read with a HEA. Of course there are more questions to be answered. That is for another book and another review. Get more doggie treats for mouse.
I enjoyed even more than the first book 4&1\2solid 🌟's💖
Okay first I love the animals in these stories in the first it was a big fabulous predator cat and in this one OMG a fabulous Dragon I can't wait to see what comes next. They make the story even better and play a great secondary role because they're intelligent, good judges of character and provide smikes, laughs and provide extra protection for those they love. I do look want one of my very own to be my fabulous friend. 💖 Brak is a badass but blue Ka'atari warrior he helped rescue the Earth women in the last book. He was sent on a mission to retrieve information to help defeat the Scozid an evil squid like race that is only out for themselves and they don't care who the destroy or annihilate. Unfortunately he's captured and tortured and is one step away from death. Anela is a hardcore marine stationed in the space station that was attacked by the Scozid. When she's rescued by the Ka'atari she wants to continue the fight so joins their military and is ready to the the squid aliens pay. She volunteers for a mission to infiltrate a Scozid ship and download any information she can about the path back to Earth or any other plans she can. She is the third to try since the others never returned. She actually completes her mission by getting the information but trying too get out alive is a different story. She evaded capture and end up in a lab where she discovers Brak. There is no way in hell she is leaving him behind. Marines don't ever leave a man behind. And this my friends is really where the fun begins. A harrowing escape, a planet run by pirates, terrible injuries both physical and mental, mutual respect, passion and a whole lot of love. Two people met for each other both mentally and physically. The chemistry between them was great, both were really well written characters that I like from the first to last page! Great story!💖💖💖 I'm looking forward to more from this author.
Anela was one of the humans rescued when their space station got caught between two factors warring each other. She was a disgraced Marine for hitting a higher racking officer in a bar fight. So, they sent her to babysit a bunch of scientists on the space station. So, as soon as possible, she volunteered to join their military. Since she could hold her own and could go on stealth missions, they sent her in. They had already sent in two warriors that didn't come back. But she got the info and found one of the previous warriors still alive. Break was seriously injured but " no one left behind " marine training kicked in. He kept telling her to leave him or she would be bringing home a dead man. But she was determined and she got them home. Of course, she crashed two ships to do it and landed on a pirate's space station and on a frozen planet. But they got back! But Break was suffering from PTSD, warrior style. Anela fell in love with Break and she had to help him. So, she found out about the equivalent to mental health help. When he got back they realized that they were in ruhn. But before they could do anything about it, they were sent on another mission. And it went from bad to worse to crazy shit. Now, you will have to read the book for yourself. I left out a whole lot of good stuff and how it ends. The first book was great and this one is just as good. I'm waiting for the next one to come out. You will love these warriors as much as I do.
Smashing book! Smashing series! I’m loving this new to me author! Kenzie rocks! I love Anela, Sar and Brak! Sar was so awesome! I kinda wish they explained his metamorphosis a bit more but hey, mommy was in trouble and he had to stomp some squid. The snark was so cute in this book. I’m also glad how Kenzie handled Brak’s PTSD. I suffer from ptsd, although mine is from different circumstances the signs and symptoms and triggers are still similar. She was sensitive and handled this touchy topic very well while also shedding light on a topic that’s very real and exists in our world. As I stated in the previous review for book one, the world building is phenomenal and the characters are lovable and funny. You want to know more about them. You want them to succeed and you want them to find love and happiness. The pacing is well done as well. 5 ⭐️ from me. Can’t wait for the next book
Anela was a marine, stationed on an Earth space station that was destroyed in a fight between two alien spaceships. She was rescued by the aliens, and then joined their military, wishing to fight the aliens that caused the problems. Sent on a mission to infiltrate the enemy, and get some information from them, she discovers a warrior, Brak, being held captive. First they must escape, then they have to get the information they carry to the right people, without being captured...
This is the second book in the series, each book is a complete romance, but since the background story is an ongoing one, it’s best to read these books in order. It’s an entertaining universe, the story is fast paced, and the overarching background story is intriguing. The characters are interesting, though it might be nice to know a little more about each of them, and the alien pets are amusing and fun.
The book is a quick read, ideal for lovers of sci-fi romance. Enjoy!
Anela is a soldier she accidentally punched an officer in the face in a bar fight her commanding officer said that she is lucky that she didn’t get dishonourably discharged so Anela was sent to do the most boring job on the space station Shangris, now she is on a Scozid ship trying to get the coordinates to the Milky Way so they can get back to earth. The Scozid were coming so Anela ran into a room it looked like a torture room and there were cages she went up to one and noticed that it was Brak he was a bloody mess he was the last Ka’atari warrior that was sent on that mission but he never returned now she knows why. There’s action, adventure, suspense, danger, drama, snark, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages and I highly recommend this book.
I’m enjoying the series. This is book 2. Would like to mention that the baddies are horrid and goodies are good. I really did not like the baddies at all. I enjoyed the interaction between the two main characters. Did not feel like it was overdone and I felt it was refreshing to read about two people albeit one being an alien and the other a human. I struggle a little with ‘fated’ love but feel the author did it well and that their is no compulsion for them to stay together if love doesn’t blossom. Do like that the characters are respectful decent people who you grow to like. Will definitely follow the series through.
Positively loved this book! Two that are so different, not just by race, find strength and passion during planetary war. The author develops terrific worlds and races who interact on various levels. Things on Earth are not so different out there, such as dealing with trauma and military strategy. Emotions run high right from the start. A quick read, but oh so detailed and just WOW. Definitely going to read more from this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved Anela she was funny and was strong enough on her own but when her and Brak are together was even better. And dealing with his panic attacks and trauma was something didn't expect from someone as strong as Brak but it made the story even better. Anela has been one of my favorite heroine in a long time. Was getting sick of the weak, whiney, clingy Earth women most authors write.
The second book in the Ka'atari Warriors series a well written story that kept me turning pages. This is human space marine Anela, and Ka’atari warrior, Brak a survivor of beatings, and a cute small dragon Sar, that could curl around her neck. There is suspense, drama, danger, a surprise, and romance. I enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another fast paced, interesting read. I love the characters and their interactions. It’s not all about the sex but also the friendships they build first. The human females are strong and determined and it makes for a more interesting storyline when they are not portrayed as weak damsels in distress.
Lovely SciFi series. I've enjoyed both so far and am definitely downloading the next one. Lots of fab Sci-fi action, interesting main plot threaded through each couple's story and some steamy sex... check, check and check again.
I wrote this review for Mouse, so he should get double treats.
I am enjoying this story arc and the characters. This book really brought a whole new twist to the mate thing. I like where I hope this is going. The storyline has so many possibilities. The world building interesting. I’m hoping this story continues with all the interesting characters and intrigue. I am really looking forward to next book! This could be a great adventure.
One human and one male soldier/warrior. Great at fighting but a bit dense at love. You won't believe how a "slug" and a dragon are needed to bring love into focus. Now you decide to read or not to read. Myself I'm going to dive into book 3 - Droscal. Can't wait to be enthralled and surprised as this and the previous book have done.
Who could ask for anything better. Kickass heroine and her Big alien lover. Enjoyable read. Sorry it ended so quickly. Cannot wait for next installment in this series!
Brak needs an awful lot of saving - it’s a good thing that Anela loves him. Dangerous space missions, a safe-haven-owning Pirate and a space Komodo dragon with bat wings bring these two closer together, until the find out they’re mates. Good story in an interesting sounding universe.
I really enjoyed reading this story. I was disappointed when it ended. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. The author really gets you sucked in to the characters and the worlds they inhabit.
Light and easy read. First story I’ve read from this author. Really enjoyed the characters and the dragon made the story. Oops sorry to reveal part of the story but really read this story to find out about the dragon!!!!!!
Loved the book! Had great action, humor and amazing interaction between characters. Series just keeps getting better. Can’t wait to read next book to find out what happens next.
This story is about a warrior, who is saved by a earth female and the process to get him help. The warrior is ready to die but the heroine is not going to let that happen.. They forge a bond that while fighting for survival. Well worth reading.
I am so glad I found this series. The stories are awesome!
Brak and Anela was so good! They are finally in Rhun together but realized that the love between them had been there all along. Fated mates with an amazing sense of humor!
This book was fantastic but emotional. Brak and Anela are perfectly deadly together. Then you get to meet his pet. A DRAGON! Exciting and action packed with plenty of sexy.
Brak is an exciting sci-fi romance. Love that the heroine, Angela is a strong, kick butt marine. She and Brak make an awesome couple. Love that Sar, a thirteen pound dragon puff turns into a big bad lizard. LOL
Anela is a heroic human marine on a secret mission when she literally stumbles on a laboratory with a seriously damaged Brak inside. Then she gets snarky.
I enjoyed the 2 books very much but their are only 2 ??? I feel like their should be a lot more books ....these 2 never really ending just left me hanging
