Two people from opposite sides of the tracks. A love they can’t shake. They are a mistake neither of them can stop making.
As a teenager, Dawson was fostered by Milo’s family. While everyone had been trying to force them to be brothers, they had been falling in love. That love cost Dawson everything. Now, even though he knows he has to forget Milo, he doesn’t know how. Not that it matters. They can never be together again. Dawson has to leave him behind.
Once upon a time, Milo ruined Dawson’s life. At the time, he had big plans to make everything right. Unfortunately, Dawson never gave him a chance to try. Now, they spend all their time dancing around each other and making each other miserable. It’s a situation Milo no longer knows how to fix.
Then fate shows Milo an opening. He has to take it no matter the cost. All Milo can do is hope Dawson doesn’t end up hating him even more than he already does. Everything rides on this last-ditch effort to win Dawson for good. Otherwise, they’ll both lose.

Even when everything stood between them, nothing did.
Dawson has lived with Milo's family ever since he was 13. But while everyone considered them to be practically brothers, they had been falling in a different kind of love.
Dawson loved Milo. Things should be that simple. They were in love and that should be that. Happily ever after. Except it wasn’t that cut and dry. There was nothing uncomplicated about them.
Their love cost Dawson everything.
• The angst ✔️ • The past history ✔️ • The messy feels ✔️
It was all there. Also, I'm a sucker for flashbacks, and this had plenty of it!
“I am so, so in love with you.” Milo’s voice cracked. “Let’s disappear. I want to run away. Not because I’m ashamed, but because I want to be free.”
I was intrigued by the unusual and stunning cover, and for a 140-page book, this sure packs quite a punch!
Milo’s faith in him made Dawson feel like he could take over the world, except Dawson didn’t want the world. He only wanted Milo. It was funny, though, the two things felt like they were the same. Owning Milo was exactly like being king of the whole world.
P.S.: Thank you Luline for putting this wonderful book on my radar! 💖
I liked this one because it was interesting. Both of them were over the top kinky and obsessed with each other. Having been manipulated apart years ago, they never stopped loving or watching each other. Interfering drama and a dose of abandonment PTSD keeps the pages turning fast for this second chance romance in search of that well deserved HEA . This was different.👍
An M/M romance with troubled men, a sad past and some deep heartache. We have Dawson, 23, a big strong guy, who works at Wrecker's coffee house, and he's a tough guy who's unhappy and broody. Smaller Milo, 21, multiple piercings in many places, dark haired and silver eyed, is an artist and poet. He and Dawson have a history, because when Dawson's Dad died, he was fostered by Milo's Mom. An irate customer threw hot coffee at Dawson, and Valor, a cop, stepped in to handle it. We learn about Dawson and Valor's connection and friendship, and see Dawson and Milo's past through flashbacks throughout this novella. We learn why they have the unsteady relationship, and what each man wants. New realities unfold and emotions are exposed. Their sexy times are wild and rough, and just what they need.
A discovery about Milo's Mom's deviousness is only the beginning of her cruel messiness. Our men, Dawson and Milo, have a solid ground to progress with in life. It's serious with total devotion, even when issues try to separate them. They hold strong, because neither can live without the other. It's a hard thing to watch at times, but the outcome is worth it, and we meet Valor, cop, and Reid, a famous actor, so we look forward to their story. ENJOY !

I loved this story of the passion and love between two teenagers that persisted into their adult life and that people mistakenly thought was wrong. I loved that Milo never gave in and just doggedly persisted as Dawson tried to ignore him and distance himself. I loved that they finally got an ally and that they had a chance at the future that should have always been there to start with. I loved their passion and the love between them. An addictive read. Easy to feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
Even though I have said this MANY times, I absolutely love Charity’s work! I have yet to find a book that I don’t like! I also have yet to finish reading a couple of her series but I don’t care, I still say she is amazing!
This one is one of my favorites! These two are absolutely adorable and I love them! You can’t help but want to just wrap them both up in huge hugs and never let go. Nobody deserves to go through all they have! But they are amazing and will prove it! With so many feels involved make sure you’re prepared to wanna jump through the book and hurt a certain someone while also grabbing a Kleenex to wipe your tears away as your breaks for them. Just read the story and see what I mean!
Milo and Dawson's story was so touching. It was also a little sad. I know I teared up more than once. I can't stand Milo's mom. Like she needs to deep throat a cactus. She is such a disturbing little woman. Valor is Dawson's friend. Since he is older I can't majorly crushed on him. Lol Dawson and Milo have a uphill battle in order to be together. So much time ripped them apart. Dawson hates Milo for things of the past but when Dawson runs away it's up to Milo to chase after him. The writing is on the wall... nothing can tear them apart or will unspoken truths destroy them for good.
To date I've enjoyed this series. In my personal opinion, Milo and Dawson's relationship is obsessively co-dependant and destructive. Given everything they've been through and where they end up, I want them to be happy. And they are for brief seconds in time, but the tiniest bump and one or the other spirals which is sad and frustrating. How long can their relationship take this unhealthy cycle? The story wrapped in a hurry. The 'disruptive force' didn't play out in the story as well as it could have because personally I missed it. But that might just be me. Kudos on the 'just desserts' (is that the right phase?) Dished up in the end.
This book was so good, 4.5 stars, without a doubt. They kept getting pulled apart but that didn't stop what they felt. Dawson felt like he wasn't good enough for Milo and Milo felt that he couldn't provide for Dawson with everything he deserved. They each tried to prove to the other that they could anything they wanted when in reality the only thing each of them wanted was to be together and be loved. These two were so in love with each other, so obssessed that even when they were apart for all those years, they were always in each other's minds. I loved their love, it was so pure and beautiful. They deserved all the happiness in the world and so much more
I'm just speechless. From previous books in this series, I expected this one to be fraught with emotion. I was right, but I was also wrong in that fraught wasn't nearly a strong enough word! This shocking story of a couple kept apart, thankfully has a happy ending. But I stayed up way too late reading to get there 😂
Dawson and Milo had me on the edge of my seat I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop . When it did I had not expected that I'm so looking forward to the next book. I absolutely love this series so far.
So dumb I've never reviewed this. It's one of my top 3 Charity books, along with Beautifully Damaged (the prequel in this series) and Savior (The D series). It's in my physical book hoard, and I've read (all 3 of these books tbh) an obscene amount of times.
Angst and art and being a martyr and guilt and ugh. This one is a good book with all the feelings. If you want some serious longing and devotion and loves being separated then this one is for you.
