My stories include many other fun friends including Professor Delilah (a majestic butterfly), Bart the mosquito (the bully who likes to try and scare us), Sam-Sam (a giant garden spider with a huge heart), Borris my friendly dog and Snickers my bullfrog-chasing cat. Plus many more! In each story, I give Detective Tips and am drawn outdoors where everything is larger than life, since I am the size of a marble! Hang on because you never know what is going to happen! Book 1 Lost Locket It all started when Leo & Lucy came to stay at my parent's vacation rental and their mom lost her favorite old gold locket. My detective brain immediately went into action! Where did the necklace go? Will I get squashed once I shrink and become tiny? Will I be tiny forever? Did the mean bully, Bart the mosquito and his buddies, take it? Will Elliott and I get eaten by a hawk? This is a wild & crazy adventure where I quickly learn that God loves me and is always with me! And as I trust in Him and work with my new friends (even though we are all very different) we discover that we are stronger when we work together. Will I be able to solve this tricky case? Even if I am, only the size of a quarter?

Are you looking for a good clean book for your middle-grade children? The Magic Magnifying Glass is a good one. The first book is called “Lost Locket” by Wendy Ann Mattox. This book introduces you to a boy that loves to solve mysteries.
This book also is clean and talking about God helping him along the way. Your child or children will meet some new characters along the way. I enjoy the fact that this book does center around a boy named Finley. Though he needs the help of friends,
Will he learn that God made me the way he is for a reason. Will he know that having new friends might be able to help when he needs it? The way the author puts nature animals in this story. I enjoyed how they come to help or do as they would typically do in natural wildlife.
Children will learn about nature and the wild animals in their backyard. We learn along the way some of the friends that Finley meets as he tries to solve the tricky case. Will he figure out how he got so tiny? Will he learn to trust God?
This book is excellent. Will Finley find the missing locket? This adventure book is ideal for girls and boys. Parents can read it to their children. Children can pick this book up and read it themselves if they want. I was pleased with it. Children learn about nature and animals in their backyard. Some of the animals are common.
Parents could add more activities or learning activities with their children once they have read this book. Children will learn some animal facts about some of the new friends Finley meets in this book.

After virtually meeting the author and seeing the books that she’s written- I was intrigued to read one of her books. The covers look so beautiful too. I really enjoyed this story - it has likeable characters, great humour, mystery and adventure that will keep the children hooked and engaged throughout.
Fin is an 8-year-old who enjoys being a detective. He shares and follows detective tips throughout the story too. With the help of a magic magnifying glass and using his tips , he goes on an exciting adventure to solve the mystery of a missing locket belonging to the mother of his new friends.
What an adventure they go on too! The world is a very exciting and dangerous place when Fin magically shrinks to the size of a grape! Although he finds mice friends, not all the creatures that he meets want to help Fin!
This is also a wonderful story to explore problem solving and being responsible with children too. Fin is a very relatable character for any 8 year old.
I would highly recommend this book to primary school aged children- as a first chapter books and to teachers who are looking at adventure stories- this has all the elements of a great one.

We read this with the kids today. There were few times that all the kids broke out in laughter. This book stresses the need for prayer and loops scripture throughout the story. The kids loved meeting the author. As an adult the adventures of Fin remind me a little of the Littles. It brought me back to the day when my imagination was awakened by the adventures of the E Littles. If you are looking for a great family read this is it!

This was so cute!
Finn brings his faith overly into his investigations, talking many times about the role of prayer and relying on God in day-to-day life.
The characters are adorable. The story is light and fun. A great read for early Christian readers in the 6-9 years old crowd.
