National Socialism - Its Principles and Philosophy

Rate this book
Since the postwar period a truthful and transparent approach to National Socialist ideology has always remained elusive. The most common approach is to pass off National Socialism as a movement without ideological substance, which merely reacted to events, took advantage of political upheavals and, in some mysterious way, hypnotised the masses with the hysterical rhapsody of anti-Semitism. Thus National Socialism has been stereotyped as a creed as baseless as it was incoherent. This book seeks to shed light on the principles and philosophy of National Socialism, and what it meant to the millions of Europeans who gave their lives to its ideals and creed. Contrary to popular opinion, Hitler’s and the National Socialist ‘Worldview’ was not based on ‘anti-Semitism’ – the Jewish question was at best a minor irritant to the Third Reich – it had nothing to do with ‘mysticism’ or the ‘occult’, and it certainly did not promote the idea that the people of Germany were a ‘Master Race’. The National Socialist Worldview was based on far deeper and timeless principles which existed long before the creation of the Third Reich, and which will remain long after mankind has ceased to exist. Seventy years of lies and simplifications must be left behind in order to understand the principles that underpinned National Socialist ideology. This book is an invitation to those adventurous and nonconformist spirits who dare to examine pages censured by official historiography. Uncovering the ideological foundations of National Socialism, with a free spirit and an open mind, will be an enlightening and rewarding adventure.

Not a light read. Heavy going and dry. But comprehensive, well researched and with an excellent bibliography. No index.

This book delivers the "nuts and bolts" of the foundation of "National Socialism." Videla begins with the foundations of the 5 areas of the "National Socialistic World View" which are:

1. Life Law
2. Law of Struggle (Kampfgesetz)
3. Law of Selection (Gesetz der Auslese)
4. Law of Fertility (Gesetz der Fruchtbarkeit)
5. Law of Inheritance (Gesetz des Vererbung)

Videla then explains the symbology of some of the Runes, and the Greek philosopher Heraclitus who termed that Struggle was the "Father of All Things," and how perpetual strife is termed "Polemos."

However, what I found appealing was his brief explanation of the Economy of Monumentality under the Hitler Regime and how it developed General Secretaries, and National Agencies and how they interacted with Circles, Cartels and Combines in explaining the National Socialistic economy. That was interesting.

After this, the book goes on to some of the Fertility Laws which got somewhat boring (to me) but the book ends fine with Videla tying together all of his points.

Intriguing insights to the worldview hidden from the world post-WWII. Thinking in a context that could only truly exist in it's time, the 3rd Reich's policies and vision of a homogeneous society which could only endure the struggle and improve over a millennia simply makes sense.

If you want to understand the ideology of National Socialism in depth, this book is essential. Probably, it has no alternatives available. Leftist-controlled sources of information try their best to hide the essence of the National Socialist philosophy behind a smokescreen or outright lie.

Unfortunately, Carlos Videla’s book has serious flaws, and it’s unlikely to be an enjoyable read. Below, I’ll go over its strengths and weaknesses in more detail.

The book’s main strength is that it delivers on its promise: it gives readers an unbiased look at the principles and philosophy of National Socialism. It relies heavily on primary sources, quoting them extensively and without distortion. After finishing the book, I searched online for topics related to National Socialist ideology and even discussed them with an AI. Comparing those results to what I learned from the book was both amusing and enlightening.

The book has the following flaws:

1. It’s overly bloated. Many sections feel repetitive or unnecessarily long.

2. Its tone is too enthusiastic. The author presents the principles of National Socialism with outright admiration and offers zero critique of Nazi ideology.

3. It avoids key questions. The book steers clear of discussing how the Nazis applied their ideas in practice—arguably the most important and revealing aspect.

4. Poor organization. The chapter and section titles often fail to accurately reflect the actual content, which can make the structure confusing.

Despite the shortcomings listed above, this book is still worth your time. For the reasons I’ve outlined, online searches or AI chats can’t serve as a substitute for reading it.

In a world that forces us to censor a man moustache and yet we encourage certain “practices” that would bring an end to the human race if we all decided to “practice” ourselves … a world where nearly a century later, we blindly accept the ridiculous scary monster stories in spite of the evidence that proves there was no boogie man yet we still don’t question why we aren’t allowed to ask questions… this book is an extremely nice change of pace. Factual, well-written and informative! It says all of the things that NEED to be said and it does so in a polite and non-combative way. For anyone who is truly interested in knowing the truth as opposed to the scripted and over-played lies that came about after WW2, this book is an absolute must-read! I would also suggest reading “The Myth of German Villainy” by Benton Bradberry and “Mein Side of the story” by MS King. As a topper to anyone who wishes to see the REAL monsters… “HellStorm: The Death of Nazi Germany”.. can’t recall the author at the moment. If anyone cares to contact me with other book suggestions regarding this topic or simply to point that evil finger of “racism” at me…

This is an excellent book. The overwhelming bulk of the literature on National Socialism follows the same war propaganda canards, the "Nazi" caricatures, the sensational atrocity propaganda, and a largely one-sided and derisive presentation that ignores not only scores of evidence of a highly developed world view, but the core philosophy upon which National Socialism was built. What this books reveals, is that despite some flaws, the world view of National Socialism is not only built on surprisingly advanced, conservative, and soundly developed principles, but is through and through a very sophisticated philosophy largely inspired by Nietzsche and evolutionary biology. While this isn't a long book, Videla puts together a very comprehensive look at the underlying principles and philosophy of National Socialism, cutting away the hyperbolic and sensational, and leaving us with an evidence-based examination of what it was at its core and the *actual* ideas from which it sprang.

The book pairs extremely well with Benton L. Bradberry's phenomenal history book, "The Myth of German Villainy," which I highly recommend as well (though it's banned here on Goodreads & on Amazon).

Videla has a way of writing that keeps the reader both informed with ease but upheld with important facts & party-accurate teachings both in English & German translations in places where they are important.

This book in its essence portrays the fundamentals of National Socialism, a most misunderstood worldview & political system that with unbiased eyes can be seen as something more than what it attempted to achieve before & during the second world war.

I have read perhaps 5 times over & everytime find myself refreshed with a worldview that comes natural & invigorating to the human psyche. No more comprimises, no more looking into the vapid political party 'promises' of today & agreeing with 10% of their policies but leaving the other 90% of the mind completely unimpressed.

Minus a few grammatical errors , this book surely is an eye opening experience for the reader looking to open his/her mind without bias, & to push themselves to ask questions regarding this fleeting & unfulfilling 'modern' age.
