Looking back- life was great! Then, suddenly, it happened and it didn't kill me. What is "it"? It is all those obstacles and catastrophic events that may cause some to lose hope and let go of their faith. In this book, I will share my story of faith and determination to press and move forward.
I know Patrice from high school homeroom and saw on her Facebook page that she wrote a book, so I wanted to read it. (And no, we're not related!)
I'm not a very religious person. I don't go to church regularly. I don't praise God nearly as much as I should. But I do have faith.
I cried while reaching this book. I cried at what Patrice has gone though. I cried for her courage, I cried for her faith, I cried for her joy. I cried for God.
You see, Patrice, I have been struggling. My grandmother, like Job, had painful sores all over her body, from her head to the soles of her feet. I would speak with her (but because of COVID, I couldn't see her) and she would tell me she was asking the good Lord to take her to be with Him and end her suffering. He didn't let her suffer long and He took her to be with Him this past July.
I believe your story was brought into my life for a reason. I was angry. Angry that one of the kindest, most faithful people I knew, my grandmother, would have to suffer like she did. Your book brought up painful memories but also helped to soothe them. Thank you for being courageous enough to share your journey. You are blessed! ❤️
This author has told her story of living in the joy of the Lord in the face of sometimes insurmountable challenge. She encourages the reader as she details how with God she continues to press! It Didn’t Kill Me, is a modern epistle of how you can have joy no matter what if you continue to have faith.
