This book is precious to me. Filled with little diamonds to boost your soul. Exactly what I needed—I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t. Thank you, Adrian.

I admit that I initially assumed that this book wouldn't quite be my flavor; I was afraid it would perhaps be too sappy and thoughtful for my jaded self. And was it sappy? A little. But I really enjoyed it regardless. Somewhere in between a book of poetry and a self help manual, Love Language is filled with countless positive affirmations and poetic reminders to love yourself, to work on yourself, and from those two things, be the best version of yourself. It's a collection of self sayings that many people honestly do not tell themselves enough, and I admit again that it was very warming to read. An excellent piece if you feel you need to be uplifted up during our increasingly stressful world.

Adrian Michael: you are a poetic genius! Your poems hit so hard and get me through! You remind me that how I feel is normal and valid and that feeling deeply is a super power. I am excited to continue reading more and more and more.

Hey, all my reviews are basically my personal notes and feelings and I just use good reads as an online bookshelf to do that all.

155 lessons were too many for me. The messages felt overstated and in their overstatement they lost power. I like that Adrian Michael sees societal wounds and is trying to heal them in his reader and I believe in the need for them to be healed, but I don't agree with his ideological approach to fixing our lack of self-esteem, self-belief, or lack of love. I find his repeated ideas of "deserving" overstated and particularly empty.

That said, I think there is at least one sentence in this book that would move anyone. Here are the most beautiful passages moved me:

"life is more fulfilling being authentic. when you protect your heart you're protecting all parts of you others tried to shatter and take. you aren't obliged to forfeit your self-love. you are obliged to reinforce it."

"beautiful is the soul that flutters
and inspires others to do the same."

"be the kind of human you'd want to fall in love with."

"choose to be yourself.

becoming magic is never easy
but you do it every day when
you choose to be yourself."

This was a really close 4 ⭐️

It’s really hard for me to LOVE a whole work of poetry so I am somewhat a hard critic. There were many in this book that really touched me and I definitely tabbed to read again at a later date. I am picking up the next one now.

I actually had a whole signed box set gifted to me by my lovely mother. She loves this writer and has gifted his work to many. I look forward to diving into more.

My favorite book with me at all times. His words speak to every moment - good and bad - and carry so much power. Love Language is my favorite of all, but I have loved every piece of his work. I will reread and reread forever!

Some toxicity

Enjoyed most of the book, but there’s some toxic positivity woven in along with pushing co-dependency and unrealistic/unhealthy romantic relationships. Take what works, leave what doesn’t.

I loved this book! Such beautiful poetry and affirmations. I loved that below many of the poems there was a journal entry that felt much more personal and like you were reading a person's daily thoughts in their own journal. I really look forward to coming back to this book again and again

I read poetry slowly, to savor every word and morsel. This book was a slow burn in the BEST way. I didn’t want it to end. Every page was filled with beauty. In his own words, Adrian, I hope you know you are a breath of fresh air to so many.
