Goel is an M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur and B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering (Honors) from Banaras Hindu University. In the years 1999 and 2000, he was awarded the Gold Medals for Jyotish Alankar and Jyotish Acharya at the Institute of Astrology, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi. V.P.
