Rate this book
While facing death at an upscale restaurant, Mya Hunter, a successful hedge fund manager, meets Felton Manning, businessman, who soon becomes the love of her life and a walking ghost. Mya's skeletons remain hidden from Felton but with secrets of his own, she quickly learns his ugly truth. She has high hopes for their life together and expects him to meet her needs before she reveals her true identity. Felton has his own plans for Mya the first night he meets her. He is the stranger she never knew she needed until her friend, Lauren Mitchell, moves to the city to avenge the murder of her father. Working to uncover that Felton's past is shockingly private, Mya entrusts one of her friends to investigate him, and it becomes more dangerous when she realizes what he is capable of. Whether she decides to continue her relationship with Felton is up to Lauren who keeps her skeletons a secret until family ties are broken. As Lauren and Felton's secrets begin to crumble, Mya is slowly succumbing to pressure to kill someone she has never met. Although she is reluctant to finish the job, she knows that a powerful and wealthy family is controlling Felton's behavior despite their connection to the most important person to him, wreaking havoc for her and everyone in her life. Who can she trust? What will happen if she doesn't kill a stranger? With broken trust and blood on the brain, memories are swept away as lies become a reality.

I feel like this work could use a lot of editing. Several spots either contradicted the previous page or just didn’t finish the thought process. And then by the end you still never get a conclusion. It’s like the book just ends. With proper editing and maybe additional details and information this could have been a good book.

The book immediately draws you in and is not boring in the beginning like some books. This made it enjoyable from the start. The intense scenes had me on edge wanting more action and the secrets were just omg. I'm curious to know who Mya really is and how Felton affected her work. I'm waiting on the release of the second book to find out more from this new author. I truly enjoyed the book and couldn't put it down. I'm a new fan.
