Little Girl Lost

Did Faith Carson steal his sister's baby?

Hugh Damon is convinced that Faith's daughter is actually his sister Beth's missing baby. Just after Beth gave birth she was in a terrible car accident that caused her to lose her memory. Her newborn infant was never found.

Faith, widowed just before the birth, has told everyone she delivered her daughter at home during a devastating storm. Since she was alone, there's no one to confirm - or deny - her story. But there are too many coincidences to allow Hugh to believe her - as much as he finds himself wanting to.

He has to admit that Faith is a great mother and that his teenage sister is in no shape to care for a child, but he still wants to know the truth. It's the only thing that might save his sister's sanity....

When your unsure about a book, then it seems like that's the one that turns out to be REALLY GOOD!!! The storyline of this book was EXCELLENT!!! I could easily imagine this as a lifetime movie, or something. Hugh Damon is convinced that Faith Carson's 2 1/2 yr old daughter, Caitlin is actually his little sister Beth's missing baby. Just after teenage Beth gave birth to her daughter, she was in a terrible accident that caused her to lose her memory and killed her boyfriend, Jamie (the baby's father.)Her newborn infant was never found.

Faith, who was widowed just before the baby's birth, has told everyone she delivered Caitlin at home during a devastating storm. Since she was alone, there's no one to confirm - or deny- her story. But there are too many coincidences to allow Hugh to believe her- as much as he finds himself wanting to.

He has to admit that Faith is a great mother and that his young sister, barely out of her teens is in no shape to care for a child, but he still wants to know the truth. It's the only thing that might save his sister's sanity...

Without giving too much away, after Beth's boyfriend's (the baby's father) parent's start harassing her. (They are wealthy and will do whatever it takes to find, and get custody of their granddaughter. Especially the mother, Lorraine. Who I could NOT STAND throughout the book. The father was more likeable.) The only thing they have left of their son, and only child. Hugh, brings Beth to the Painted Lady Buttefly Farm. Beth and Faith quickly form a friendship, which becomes complicated. And although Beth likes Caitlin and thinks she's adorable, feels no maternal feelings, or recognization towards the toddler....Beth even meets and falls in love with Kevin Sager, a young local High School science teacher. So there are essentially 2 romances going on in the book, which was cool. There could of been more between Hugh and Faith, but the storyline makes up for it. And every thing is so complicated they aren't really able to get together until towards the end....Little Caitlin is precious. Typical 2 yr old girl. The little girl on the cover portraying her is ADORABLE!!!! There's even a dog, Faith's and Caitlin's faithful Sheltie, Addy.I also liked that this story was abouth the storyline.NOT Sex, which Harlequin is no for doing and what made me leary at first...GREAT BOOK!!! Not BAD for a thrift store find!
