Among Us: Do we really control our lives?

Rate this book
Forces trying to control us are always among us. Those who battle against them, the Free Humans, are also among us, maybe next to you at the checkout counter, on the bus, or at the soccer field. Two young adults join the Free Human community whose mission it is to help the rest of us break out of our unexamined/unquestioned lives in order to take control of our own destinies. Ava and Wyatt are accidental heroes when they escape from the off-world gamers’ command center where, unbeknown to us every day folks, frequencies through cell phones plus social media apps are used to send and receive the data and the commands which manipulate our lives. With the help of Crazy Man, they fight against the various gamer teams which have competing strategies to control us individually as well as our society, our whole world. While being hunted down by the gamer teams, Ava, Wyatt and the Free Humans have some wins and some losses. Will it be enough to free the rest of us? Do the rest of us wanted to be freed? Will it be enough that we, like Ava, Wyatt and the Free Human, learn that we must take personal responsibility for our lives, that we must live deliberately and mindfully.

I really enjoyed Among Us: Do We Really Control Our Lives?. The storyline is unique and makes you think deeply about how much control we actually have over our lives. The idea that people are being influenced through technology felt both interesting and a bit scary.

Ava and Wyatt were great characters, and their journey kept me engaged from beginning to end. The book also sends a strong message about taking responsibility and living consciously. Overall, it’s a thought-provoking and exciting read.

Among Us: Do We Really Control Our Lives? by Robert Howling is a thought‑provoking exploration of autonomy and the hidden forces that shape human behavior. With clear, accessible prose and compelling examples, Howling challenges readers to reconsider assumptions about free will, identity, and the social dynamics that influence our decisions. This book successfully bridges philosophical inquiry and practical insight, making it a valuable read for anyone interested in understanding the interplay between self‑determination and external influence.

If you want it tailored for a specific platform (Amazon, Goodreads, Fiverr gig), I can adjust the tone and length.

Among Us: Do We Really Control Our Lives? by Robert Howling has a very intriguing premise and delivers an important message about awareness and personal freedom.

The storyline is creative and relevant, especially with its focus on technology and control. However, at times the execution felt a bit uneven, and I would have loved more depth in character development.

That said, the book still succeeds in making you think and question everyday life, which is one of its biggest strengths.

Howling skillfully navigates complex philosophical questions with clarity, prompting readers to reflect on the extent to which societal structures, psychology, and subconscious patterns govern choices. The book’s engaging approach makes abstract concepts accessible, inviting thoughtful consideration of what it truly means to be in control of one’s life.

A very creative and eye-opening read by Robert Howling. The idea that our lives could be controlled by unseen forces through technology is both fascinating and a little scary.

I really enjoyed the characters and the fast-moving plot, but what stayed with me most was the message about taking control of your own life and thinking for yourself. Definitely worth reading
