Being kidnapped by a coven of masked men isn’t on my bucket list…
My name is Miranda Rourke.
And I’m a witch.
When I’m kidnapped from my small and boring town of Tiller, Georgia, I find myself in a near-perfect reproduction of my apartment.
Except it’s not my apartment.
And I’m being held here against my will.
While playing prisoner, I’m visited by various masked men, all of whom claim that I’m important for some type of ritual. A ritual no one will talk about…
But it’s one man in particular who grabs my attention.
Erik is different from the other men—there’s something about him that hints to the fact that he’s actually a decent person beneath his masked exterior. Maybe it’s his boyish smile, or his warm eyes…
Or maybe I’m kidding myself and I’m just another example of Stockholm Syndrome at work.
Either way, I’ve got to escape before I find out what this ritual is all about. Because, by then, it may be too late...
Please This is a paranormal reverse harem kidnapping series meant for readers 18 and over. This is also a MEDIUM burn reverse harem romance.
Every time a new series is released by Pascal I am like there is no way she can top the last series... and boy I think this one might be my new favorite series.
I LOVE EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER.
Also ya'll Miranda is so kickass. I think she is my favorite like she is up there with Dulcie. She doesn't quit, she doesn't whine. To be frank she gets sh*t done.
Her main men are not too bad either, but I don't think their characters have been developed enough for me to love them. At least not yet, however I am sure I will book crushing hard by time I finish book 2.
All of the "good" characters are great. Miranda, Law Law, Violet... Fen Erik.
The world building is fun too.... and I am not sure what Mrs. Williams deal is but I don't like her. I just want that on record cause she is up to something. Don't worry no spoilers here, I just want to say I freaking told you so!
Such a fun book! I am in love and I cannot wait for book 2. Cliffhanger ending warning!
Miranda is working with her best friend Violet. She is worried about the store her parents left her. Violet tells her about the party Law Law, her grandmother is planning for her. How she invited some people Miranda doesn't really want to do with. The party was interesting for Miranda but there was the expected problem with one of the guests. Seems people can't accept her being a witch or how they viewed her mother. She misses her parents since they passed away in the car accident. Law-Law has is a grandmother to her. Law Law gives her a gift that her mother left with her. Miranda goes home after the party. She is awakened by a knocking on her door. Someone is calling her name. When she opens it, she sees a guy wearing a mask. She blacks out after that. She wakes up in her apartment. She looks around. She then realizes this is not her apartment. She meets the guy that kidnapped her. He wants her for a ritual but won't answer her questions. There is another man there that is wearing a mask, he looks ready to hurt her. She gets meets another one of her kidnappers. He seems to be different than the other two. She gives them all a hard time. Things get really bad for Miranda, she will need to trust someone there to help her get out.
This book starts off really good and keeps you reading until you reach the end. There are several different things going on that keeps you attention. You have magic, different world, the villian and more. You will see Miranda go there what is going on and how everything in her life has effected her. The character will be stronger and different then she was before. I didn't want to go into details so not to spoil it for any readers. I recommend reading this book, the author did not disappoint. Remember this is a reverse harem but does not take away from the story at all.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Miranda is having one of those days , its her birthday and all she wants to do is have a nice quiet night but her best friend Violet lets it slip that they are having a surprise party for her . It seems that the party goes from bad to worse . When Law - law gives Miranda her mothers grimoire . Things tend to get a little dicey as she wakes up in the exact replica of her apartment . When masked men come in and want her to show them her magic , things start to go weird . Except of one man with the cutest smile and the sexiest eyes . There is more to him . Will Miranda get home to her family or will the men have her as part of their ritual . Will she come out of it alive . This is the first book of a new series so we get to meet some cool new characters . Miranda is well she is a witch and it seems she is the talk of her small town and its not in a good way . She is feisty and when push comes to shove she will do anything to get out of the trap she is in. In some ways she is naive but you see her start to shine as you read . Violet is her best friend and to me she just seems a little bit on the ditzy side . She lets things slip out that she isn't suppose to . Erik the masked man that helps Miranda out is well he is sexy and has a killer smile . We get to see him play the hero and they really get to know each other . They are well written and I can't wait to see how the author brings them together and how complex they will become . This is one of those books that is a slow burn as it is the first book it is a set up for what is to come . The author has a way that when you read her work you get sucked in . The characters are well written and you will love them or hate them depending on your mood . There are a few things that are going on this book , a kidnapping . magic. a different world and a cult . If that doesn't attract your attention just think of hot men wearing masks . This is a book that will have you sucked in by chapter 3 so check it out . I promise it will be a fast read that will have you wanting more . A great curl up in a hammock book for your summer .
She isn't kidnapped until chapter 4 and nothing happens the first 3. Then, she figures it out right away and then literally nothing else happens. Halfway through the book we still don't know who these people are or what they want. There is also zero harem building. She bangs one guy twice and both scenes are a page and a half- so very brief. Boring story. Even worse sex.
This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be! I was surprised at what I feel like was a bit of a twist in the story. It did start out a bit slow, but then took off! I stayed up until 3am to finish this! The storyline was fun & witty. I loved the characters & cant wait to see where the next book will lead us!
Masked is a slow start kinda book. You don't have much info to go on to what is happening. Then you get little scraps of information and the characters kinda grow on you. Towards the end...there is one guy and one girl and all hell is gonna break loose. Just try it...you'll probably like it!!
This one will grab you by the throat in the first chapter! It snags hold of your attention and doesn't drop it at all! This new world is intense and riveting! A must read full of spells and rituals to keep your witchy senses tingling!
