I write steamy romance that’s safe, funny, and totally over the top. My heroes are always alpha males because the stronger they are, the harder they fall. Luckily the smart, sassy heroines know how to catch them and make everything better!

I never get tired of believing that love can show up unexpectedly and with determination. That it can find you anywhere, even curled up on the couch, in your jammies, while eating ice cream and binging romance novels. Then a knock on the door reveals your gorgeous new neighbor that you didn’t even know had moved in… or maybe it’s that hot friend of your dad’s you only know through photos…

Possibly the HEAs come easier because my home and office are in a romantic clearing of giant evergreens in the Pacific Northwest. Think Snow White without the Dwarves. But I do have a bounty of wild animals that come to visit. There’s even a resident nuthatch that talks to itself (constantly)! And there *are* currently seven chickens in the henhouse…

I hadn’t read anything by the author previously, but the blurb caught my eye and I was in the mood for a “quickie.” This definitely fit the bill!

For such a short novella (50 pages), I felt that the character development was pretty solid; the plot wasn’t outlandish; and it wasn’t over the top with instalove mush (not that there wasn’t any of that bc there was, but it wasn’t as sappy as many of the ones I have read in the past have been). Some solid steam (if a little unrealistic- if the guy is packing a rocket, it’s not gonna feel amazing the first time), and a cute HEA.

Plot — 4/5
Main Characters— 4/5
Steam Level — 3/5
Violence — None
Language — Some; not egregious

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. And OMG what a hot read this book was, from start to finish I was lost in Sarah and Will’s story.

Sarah was devastated when she didn’t get the job that she originally wanted in Honolulu which is how she finds herself working in the same town as her dads best friend and her teenage crush Will. So when he calls and offers to take her put for dinner she agrees but she isn’t happy with him seeing where she lives but it’s all she can currently afford. When she sees Will again for the first time the feelings she had hoped had passed resurface with a vengeance and this time she is an adult. So when they return from dinner to find her apartment block surrounded by police after an explosion Will offers her a place to stay and she is going to show him exactly what they could have. Will they risk it all for what they share or will the relationship with her father prove to mean more than love?

This was a short story and I loved it so much I was very unhappy when people interrupted my reading time. Will was a perfect Alpha male who was conflicted by friendship and finding his person and Sarah knew exactly what she wanted and made no apologies for it. How they met had me “Aww that is too cute” but it was easy to see that these two belonged to each other. Highly recommended read and when the full boxset is out to buy I am so buying it. Short, sweet , fun and OH SO HOT. 5* Read

Romance Proibido

Will and Sarah’s dad have known each other forever through the military. Sarah had seen Will a hand full of times over the years, but had spoken to him more times than not over the phone. It was always just chit-chat about school. The last time was maybe jr. high school and well now she twenty-five and has been supporting herself for many years. However, her dad being a single father and ex-military knows the evils that can happen.

So, with Sarah not only just moving out, she is moving out of town for a new job. Turns out, that it’s for the same company that Will works for in D.C. Dealing with national security and military warfare and she is working with sea lions. Seeing that she can’t afford much right away she gets an apartment in not a great area. Will can’t believe his eyes, his head tells him it’s his friends daughter but his eyes tell him this is a twenty-five-year-old bomb shell he would normally ask out. But, neither her dad nor Will knows this, but luckily her dad has Will check in on her. He decides to take her to dinner when she gets back it is not good. Will wouldn’t let her stay if she could.

Let’s just say she ends up at Will’s house for the night, which he knows can’t be good. Especially, when she tells him she’s been crushing on him for years. She now in active pursuit of her man, Will. What I like is that he’s honorable enough to tell her if this is something she truly wants they will tell her dad. She’s not thrilled but as he tells her if you are grown enough to go for it be grownup enough to standup for it. Now, understand these are now two sexually active adults from this point on. PSA now over. LOL!

Her dad’s reaction is priceless. Very interesting take. Enjoyed this bit of a twist. Kindle Unlimited.

Another great story in the Alpha Corps International series! I love the mission statement at the beginning of the book. It gives you a great sense of the men employed there. This Dad's best friend romance is cute and sexy, fun and lighthearted. Sarah is feisty and sweet, determined and loving. Will is an alpha to the core, protective and possessive. I loved how honorable Will is, with regards to telling Sarah's father about their relationship. And said father relates a previously unheard story about Sarah's first meeting with Will - priceless!! I've loved all the books in this series, and this one is no exception! Perfect for a quick afternoon break. Happy Reading!

Sarah hasn't seen Will in years so she takes matter into her own hands. She gets a job working and living in the same town as Will, her Dad's best friend. Sarah is sweet, determined and loving and she know that she's got to take the bull by the horns and go after what she wants and what Will wants but thinks he's too old for her. Will Sarah's Dad stand in their way? Love this story. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Satisfying

Just wish after all the tension between these characters, that the intimate scenes were a little longer. They’re sexy but way too quick. Otherwise, I would’ve rated a 5 for short, sexy and sweet.

Will

This an unexpected surprise, I truly enjoyed Will and Sarah’s story. This is my first time read Olivia’s work, but it won’t be my last. It is very entertaining story and a little heat to keep you reading until the last page.

For a novella, there was a decent amount of character development. Aside from the destined-to-be-together and older-man-younger-woman tropes (which got a little cringy in the middle), this was a well thought out and executed story.
