Book 2 Deadly Declaration by Heather Renee is the second book in fantastically magical series - Shadow Veil Academy. This story with Raegan, Gemma and Enzo and an assortment of magical and paranormal characters, makes for an amazing story, filled with adventure and a unique and imaginative storyline set in an academy. Really enjoying this series and can’t wait for the third book - Daring Provocation.
Book 3 Daring Provocation by Heather Renee is the third and final book in fantastically magical series - Shadow Veil Academy. With the latest battle against Malina over and their break finished, it’s time for Raegan and her friends to to continue to build on their abilities with training at the academy. But nothing is as simple as that. This is an amazing conclusion to the series with even more twists and turns, stronger bonds forming and magically abilities displayed. Plus a heartbreaking and selfless ending with the final head to head with Malina. Side note: I love the wise words from Meme early on in the story, definitely something we should live by: “...but there is more to life than magic. Be human. Make mistakes. Live your life...”
Sooo.. "Shadow Veil Academy" had me kind of torn on how to rate it, but you know what, fuck it, I'm just going to give it 5 stars. The fact that I couldn't stop thinking about this world swayed my decision.
This beautiful boxed set has each of the unputdownable books in the trilogy plus bonus scenes that are hilarious and heartwarming. The extended ending will give you all the feels! The world building, storytelling and magical atmosphere are all breathtaking elements that makes this academy tale rise high above the crowd. Raegan goes through so many trials and yet she remains true to herself as she discovers a world that she never knew existed. Enzo is simply delicious and he keeps the reader upon their toes. Gemma is a bestie that you'd want on your side. I loved that this had shifters, vampires, elves and other supes. The academy has some very creative things about it, and those discoveries were some of my favorite parts. I loved this spectacular world that Heather Renee built and I hope that maybe someday she'll take us back there.
Whole series is absolutely fabulous. Here's my review of book 1 to avoid any spoilers
Really enjoyed this! The MC, Reagan, had some unique traits, which I enjoyed. Lots of surprises. Some good laughs. Lots of curse words so if that offends you, skip this series. I loved Enzo's character. And Reagan's BFF Gemma was awesome and so fun. I loved their friendship. I don't think enough books include a solid, realistic friendship. 💕
This was my first audiobook with Vanessa Moyen. She is wonderful! I see why she's so popular. She really makes the story come alive. Does different voices. Just awesome. My favorite voice she did was Malina. I was kind of blown away that it was still her. It felt like it was a totally different person. She's fab.
Favorite quote: "Crazy old magic man say whaaaat?!"
Delayed Admission has me stunned and mindboggled and I am happy to have read it. I love Reagan and Enzo he has me shocked and I wasn't expecting what happened there I absolutely loved this book Deadly Declaration is a thrilling and intriguing book with Reagan coming back to school. You really feel the emotions coming off the pages. Raegan, Gemma, Enzo are a perfect set of characters. Even with the end of Admission I knew Heather would let Enzo redeem himself so I wasn't as hating on him as others would. The way She described Drakken was very vivid to my mind. Daring Provocation With Triumphs and loses Deadly Provocation is a stunner of a book. Raegan and Enzo I love their dynamic relationship they are fun to read and I hope that we will have more of them in the future. And their friends are great also
I will admit there were a few places it dragged. I recommend if it happens to you to keep with it. The characters were great except I think the girls were a little too drunk on girl power. Three dominant female women was to much for me. There were times I wanted to smack Reagan for her stubbornness! I mean taking off all summer, not sure I would have forgiven her for that one. Opening the prison door after being told not to. I was a little upset it took her so long to warm up to Mark. Even if she didn't call him Dad so what? Still get to know him, he's still her here. Her mother is a horrible monster. Anyone who could think of committing genocide to earn power is crazy! I'm glad it turned out the way it did. Thank you for adding the deleted scene & epilogues. I really appreciated that Heather.
Was all the loss necessary? This poor girl could not catch a break! She gets a family, looses a family. Gets a family, looses a family. Gets a family, looses a family. It’s too much. It just wasn’t necessary to make the book emotional and heartfelt. She could have kept a family member and everything would have been still as heart wrenching at the end. There were some slow parts that frustrated me, and a lot of stuff happened that I’m not sure we ever got answers to, because the answer in the book was, “I’m sure there’s more going on but they only tell me what I need to know now” or “be patient, you’ll learn about it later” and although some things did reveal themselves, too much of the book was put off until the last hour, and you don’t end up getting all the answers because of how it all went down. I probably couldn’t read this again knowing what’s coming at the end.

4 stars for The Shadow Veil Academy by Heather Renee. Raegan has no idea who or what she really is. All she knows is she has these abilities that she can not explain. In comes this hottie Enzo out of nowhere and he saves her lives. He has strange abilities like her. Enzo tells her she belongs at Shadow Veil Academy, but can she trust what he says. Raegan goes through a lot; sacrifice, learning how to use her powers, falling in love, loss and betrayal. I loved how even when faced with everything she still holds her head up and remains strong and true. Her best friend Gemma is one I would want on my side any day. This series brings us shifters, vampires, magic users, and more. If you love strong heroines who fight for what is right, then you will love this series
It's not a secret that Enzo is my book boyfriend from all of Heather's book so far and that extended epilogue melted my heart and made my eyes tear #EnzoIsMine #HesPerfect 🤗 😍 💕 This series is amazing, unstoppable, well written, action-packed, fast paced, magical, with an amazing plot and world building, awesome MC and side characters... Simply, a MUST read series!!! ❤️
Shadow Veil Academy series is amazing. It will keep you on your toes as you are reading. Your emotions will be like riding a roller coaster and you will love it. Author Heather Renee does a fabulous job with the characters and world building. You don't have to worry about cliff hangers as you will already have the next book by a turn of the page. Go read it and enjoy!
Loved all the sass of characters and all their adventures, even those adventures which were sidelined with the mushy stuf; fellow sassy mouths barely tolerate that torture. Just kidding; maybe. Definitely worth buying these omnibus editions!
Wow I was addicted to this series from the first chapter Rae is the sassy heroine we all want as our best friend, she goes through so much heart ache and growth to be come the most amazing woman who shows strength and determination at every moment, and finally gets her happy ending.
An action-packed, pulse-racing fantasy romance with all the emotions in a supernatural academy setting.
This series had me hooked from the very beginning. I love all the aspects of it: found family, betrayal, love, sacrifice, and so much more. By the end, I was in tears. Such heartbreak and love all throughout.
Heather Renee is a breath of fresh air in a YA world overloaded with Academy books. I am so glad I picked these up. Reagan has more personality in her little finger than some main characters. And the second book is not just transition to the end of the series.
Thoroughly enjoyable, interesting and entertaining series. The characters were wonderful, the action fantastic and the storyline fabulous. This trilogy made me both laugh and cry. Excellent!
There is only one complaint but I can't say it or it will give it away. But I understand. Now I want to know if and what happens next? Anyone else's story? Kids? Etc
Such a fab read, having the completed trilogy in one book is just awesome, so easy to binge read! Also loved the little extra scenes at the end of the book. Fab.
