ADDISON CARMICHAEL is a Paranormal Romance junkie. Love is a mystical, magical thing to her, and she loves writing and living vicariously through her endless PNR stories. Whether it be alpha male werewolves, fierce dragons, sexy panthers and other shifters, sizzling hot vampires, or illusive sorcerers who will magically make your dreams come true, her imagination is bubbling up several stories after another.

As a literature major, Addison also enjoys weaving classic themes into her books, yet keeping the fun and folklore true to each story and character. While paying strict attention to the tropes of each myth, she also finds unique ways to create new ones in order to make each story as fresh, realistic and plausible as possible.

Addison was born and raised in Southern California and has lived and traveled all over the west coast (and the world). She married the man of her dreams and has two awesome sons, two daughters-of-her-heart, and three grandchildren who are the jewels in her personal crown.

She now lives happily-ever-after with her family (which includes Mollie, her black lab-border collie) in Snohomish, Washington of the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

Heir, Book 2 of Sons of the Alpha series, is a wonderful book with a perfect amount of twists and turns to keep the readers hooked. I was so excited for it and just read it in one sitting. Nicole Gabrielle and Jacob “Jake” Bryant had amazing chemistry. It was so good seeing Neil and Alexa again, even if it was a little while. The love between Neil and Jake was incredible. The way they always looked out for each other always brought a smile to my face.
I love that the author writes the prequel to every story as it makes the character’s history more clear. Looking forward to Book 3, Book 4 and 5,6,7,8,9 and 10 if the author’s up for it.
I got an ARC by the author and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Hiding in plain sight
This book starts with a bang, flowing smoothly from the previous book and moving right into the twisted excitement of this one. You are going to love the new featured couple and the journey they go through to reach their HEA. Once again the author has caught my attention and left me salivating for the next book.

GREAT story and fast read!
Once again, Addison did not disappoint!!! I literally got through the book in one day! The lovable characters, the fast unfolding river of events - all that leaves you at the edge of your seat, wanting to read more. From the very beginning, you can't help but follow Nicki and Jake. I look very much forward to read more of Addison's creations!

This review is sadly late and for that, the author has my total apology. I actually read the book twice, because I was interrupted so many times the first go-round. I really, really enjoyed this book for more than one reason. The BIG reason is that Addison Carmichael takes the time to build a story for each character. When I read, I always look for character development - that is huge for me as a reader, because I want to know the characters, and what makes them tick. I have no worries when I read one of Addison's books, because she even goes so far as to write Prequels to make sure that all the good stuff, about both the characters and the plot, is understood and enjoyed.

My second read-through of this proved what I already knew, this is an interesting and attention-holding story. My recommendation - do not hesitate to pick up a copy and read it. You will not be disappointed in the least.

Loved the action, drama, love and nailbiting mystery. I loved how the first book flowed evenly with the second book switching main characters and yet keeping my interest!

Heir
Addison is a great writer. I have read Knight, son of the alpha and now Heir, and I have fallen I love with both. Lots of action and romance and even some heartbreakers. It gets so intense you just can’t put down. Thank you for creating such a fantastic book.

Nicole Gabrielle is a low-ranking Sigma wolf that harbors a taboo secret that get her expelled from the Bryant Wolf pack. But right now she has bigger problems – Were-Bear gangsters are blackmailing her family and the only to pay them off is to doctor her Pack records and disguise herself in order to work in the exclusive Timber Ridge community. As the heir apparent, Jake Bryant must abide by one specific Wolf law – he can never marry anyone below his Alpha rank.

The second ‘Sons of the Alpha story is a captivating and emotionally gripping read with strong, bold characters that readers can easily relate to. The romance between Jake and Nicki is sweet and sizzles with chemistry but this relationship is quite complicated due to their station in life. This keeps the emotions turbulent throughout the story and readers can’t help but sympathize and be a little enraged at the unfairness of it all of course, Jake’s forced-upon him fiancée adds to the turmoil as well and readers are faced with wishing they slap that person upside the head.

The fast placed plot is full of suspense and excitement as Nicki’s step father get her family in trouble with some gangster were-bears which has Nicki going through an elaborate deception in order to pay them off. The situation is further complicated by Jake’s determination to get to know Nicki and Nicki’s guilt at deceiving everyone. Unexpected twists, betrayals, gambling debts, Arcane Hunters and a conspiracy keeps readers glued to the pages of this exhilarating read.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review. I enjoyed this book and I strongly recommend this second book of Addison Carmichael's Alpha series. It is a fast paced tale of the ups and downs of life within the hierarchical structure in a were community. Addison has a talent for describing their loves, their jealousies and the pitfalls Jake encounters when he falls for the wrong girl and is prepared to leave his powerful position to have her, but she has a shocking secret. Worth a read.

Loved it!

I loved this book! I went in expecting to kind of hate the male lead after reading about him in Neil’s book because I despise players but as it turns out, he wasn’t a douche! He was actually sweet and adorable and fantastic, so yay!

I loved both of the characters so stinking much. Their relationship was very believable and their story was so cute! I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one, I highly recommend it!! ❤️❤️❤️

This is a great second book in this series. This is a great story with great characters that you already love from the first one and some new ones too and there is some characters that you will not like. This story has great twists that I loved and great suspense too. This is a must read!

I received a ARC copy of this book and I am volunteering to do an honest review.

Loved the characters, loved the story! I wasn't sure if there was any way this book could be as good as Knight, the first in the series, but I loved it even more! Jake and Nicole shared incredible chemistry. The back and forth banter between the two was highly entertaining, and their love story was heart melting.

Great read!

I had to trudge through the first half of this book. I feel like the title should be “The Secret Life Of A Boring Secretary.” Nothing really happens other than Jake’s ‘fiancée sleeping around with every living, breathing thing in sight and Jake walking a very thin line between stalker and a sexual harassment waiting to happen. The second half went from boring to downright stupid so I just skipped.

Because Jake & Nicole’s story overlaps with Neil & Alexia’s (Alpha, book 1) there were a few redundant scenes that were just told from a different POV. I guess it would be helpful for someone who didn’t read the books in order however, for someone that read the series in order(ME), it was a little annoying.

Although Jake and Eva never really got along, I would have preferred it if he had pursued Nicole after he officially ended things with Eva. Also, I didn’t really connect with Jake and Nicole. Their story was too cringy. One minute Jake is stalking her, then forcing her to go out with him, next he’s professing his undying love for her and in the blink of an eye, trying to kiss his brother’s girl. What!! I don’t care how stressed he is you don’t do that. Really disappointed in this one.

Although the book is named Heir, it should have been crowned Forbidden, because that’s what the love between the son of the Alpha and a low-ranking mixed coyote-wolf is. Jacob “Jake” Bryant is engaged to a woman worthy of his social standing. Nicole Gabrielle hides a secret lest she be expelled from the safety of the Bryant pack. She works herself ragged, trying to put her younger sister through school, while being more parent than step-child to her stepfather.

And her stepfather’s in a bind. He’s racked up a big debt, and in order to save her family from certain death, Nicole must enter a place she’s avoided since she was a teenager—the main part of the Bryant pack territory.

Nicole’s loved Jake from afar, and hasn’t forgotten the wonderful afternoon they spent together after she saved him from werewolf hunters when she was a seventeen-year-old girl. But she’s a woman now, and she can’t let Jake figure out who she is, so with her hairdresser friend’s help, Nicole disguises herself in order to work off her stepfather’s debt in a place forbidden to her.

Another amazing book which paired really nicely with the first book in the Sons of the Alpha series. This book started before the first book and incorporated it together beautifully.
The heroine is like a substitute mother for her little sister while also taking care of her step-father (who doesn’t see her as his own daughter). When her step-father gets debt collectors at his door from all his gambling. It all falls on Nikki’a shoulders. You feel so aggravated on her behalf for the pathetic excuse she calls a “father”.
This story was just as page turning as the first book. And would definitely recommend this book for those who love Cinderella stories (or you could say beauty and the beast). With an alpha who doesn’t stop and love that will always win.

This intriguing shifter romance will keep the reader’s attention from start to finish. It has a well-written plot with unique characters that display realistic emotional feelings & react accordingly to them.
There is: a hybrid wolf-coyote, wolf shifters, bear shifters, gangsters, human poachers, family issues, action, humor, twists & turns, danger, threats, blackmail, intrigue, suspense, enemies, conflict, secrets, confusion, humiliation, surprises, caring friends, loyalty, trust, passion, love & a satisfying conclusion. I enjoyed reading this shifter romance & look forward to future books from this author.

Heir tells the story of the High Alpha Jake’s life and how he met his mate and was denied her for a very long time. Heir tells of their first meeting and then of their second. Being the High Alpha Jake is not allowed to marry below his rank as that is pack law. But no worries as Jake already has a fiancée Eva LeBlanc who is in love with his brother Neil. This in no way affects Eva as she only wants to be married to the top dog no pun intended here.

Jake’s true mate Nicole Gabrielle is a low-ranking Sigma Wolf whom he can never marry and keep his status among his pack. But Nicole has problems of her own as she works so she can take care of her sister and put her through school. Nicole also has to take care of her step-father and his gambling debts. When her step-father ends up owing a bunch of money and they show up on their door step one day demanding to be paid or they will kill them Nicole makes a deal with them to pay off her step-fathers debts.

The only way she can pay his gambling debt is take a job within the pack working for the Alpha making more money than her job at the restaurant pays. Nicole has one little problem working within the pack and that problem is the man she fell in love with many years ago the Alpha’s son and heir Jake. Hopefully he will not recognize her after all these years. Maybe he has moved on and forgotten about her.

The Sons of Alpha just keep getting better and better. I have read all of the books in this series so far which only happens to be well three now. I thought the first one Beauty and Her Beast was the best but then I read Knight it was so much better and then I read Heir which just happens to be even better. I do think that Heir is by far the best one yet. Oh but wait I have not read book three Rebel yet.

Heir is filled with action and suspense from the first page that kept me turning those pages. Once I picked it up I could not put it down. I love this world the author has created for this wolf pack. I love all the characters or lest just say the good characters. Oh and I love how the author tied Heir in with the other two books it was so smoothly done. With reading Heir and the way the author tied it all together you would not know that there are other books in the series but I am so glad that I read Beauty and Her Beast and Knight as well so that I could know more of this world and other characters.

This is one series that I do highly recommend to one and all. I can’t wait to continue the story and get to know more of these wonderful characters and their world in the next book Rebel.

The ending was still a little cheesy and quick, and the villainous blackmail was a bit contrived, but I enjoyed the character growth in this one compared to the previous book. I liked how there was an overlap in story with the previous book to show what was going on from the MC Jake's side, which made his behavior a lot more understandable due to his ongoing issues rather than coming off as a total dick.

Alpha heir of his wolf pack Jacob ‘Jake’ Bryant and half-coyote Nicole ‘Nicki’ Gabrielle met when she was a teen that saved him from poachers. Age and class differences made their attraction and budding friendship inappropriate but they parted with Jake taking a painting Nicki had been making of him and a sketch he’d made of her. Neither forgot the other’s impact.

A dozen years later, Jake has a faithless fiancé who jumps any man with working equipment, including his brothers! Nicki’s in a financial bind since her stepfather blabbed about her coyote blood to save himself from loan sharks and she’s expected to pay his large debt in a short time or be given to poachers. Nicki takes on a secret identity but gains Jake’s attention.

I liked but didn’t love the pacing or the abrupt ending of this outing that bookends Knight.

Son of the Alpha betrothed to a powerful member of the counsel. She was beautiful, rich, and incredibly spoiled. The heir was all of these things too and entitled. He also had the burden of managing the pack and ruling over all the businesses run by the pack. The very health of the pack and its member were determined by how well he married and managed their affairs. He had to be strong and smart.
He was still young and impressionable. He met a young woman/wolf that had a small hiding place on pack property where she could hide from prying eyes and draw and paint. She was young and talented. She was a lower level wolf who would never be allowed the luxury of a career in art she would have to do lower level work just to survive.
She meet the heir and saves his life when he is shot by poachers with a silver nitrate bullet. After he heals, she doesn't see him again for many years.

Enjoyed it ! Great story with good suspense build up. I loved Jake and Nicki banter and the way Jake wooed Nicki and took his stand for his true love. The family situation is well depicted and I like how the series builds up from Book 1 and most of main characters are intertwined. It was interesting to learn more about Ian Townsend from Book 1 and his background and how he supports Nicki as a great friend. Beautifully written and we crated , although this book 2 follows some of the same time line as in book 1 , the overlap scenes are precise and not too lengthy but good enough to connect the story lines.

This story is excellent, holds you captive and has a wonderful unobtrusive but deep romanticism - with the core theme of how to deal with the pressure others expect from you, is superbly portrayed, desperately beautiful to watch and superbly resolved at the end.

A little more HEA epilogue would have been nice to slip out of the story, but it's not a flaw, just a wish.
