CAN THIS HUMAN WOMAN BE HIS ONE TRUE WOLF MATE?

After yet another failed mission, werewolf enforcer Adam Bryant is pulled from active duty in their pack military in order to get his head back in the game. Knowing the real problem behind it all, he returns to the place of his worst nightmare, determined to find and destroy the monster that he’s privately hunted for over a decade.

There, Adam miraculously reunites with that “one girl who got away,” the one he knew from the first all those years ago was his one true mate. Even though she is human, all human.

But anthropologist Scarlet Lupis has her own demons to hunt. The last thing she wants or needs is any romantic entanglement when she’s on the verge of the greatest discovery of all time.

But uncovering old ghosts proves dangerous for both of them when they cross the same monsters that have haunted their lives for years.

And if Adam doesn’t win Scarlet’s heart and help, his wolf pack, the entire human and were-kind world, and his own life will be destroyed in one clawing swipe.

ADDISON CARMICHAEL is a Paranormal Romance junkie. Love is a mystical, magical thing to her, and she loves writing and living vicariously through her endless PNR stories. Whether it be alpha male werewolves, fierce dragons, sexy panthers and other shifters, sizzling hot vampires, or illusive sorcerers who will magically make your dreams come true, her imagination is bubbling up several stories after another.

As a literature major, Addison also enjoys weaving classic themes into her books, yet keeping the fun and folklore true to each story and character. While paying strict attention to the tropes of each myth, she also finds unique ways to create new ones in order to make each story as fresh, realistic and plausible as possible.

Addison was born and raised in Southern California and has lived and traveled all over the west coast (and the world). She married the man of her dreams and has two awesome sons, two daughters-of-her-heart, and three grandchildren who are the jewels in her personal crown.

She now lives happily-ever-after with her family (which includes Mollie, her black lab-border collie) in Snohomish, Washington of the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

Best of the Four!

In my opinion, this book was my favorite of the four books! The mystery and suspense kept me up all night reading for more. I wish there was more to the ending, but it did end on a good note (which I love!)

The story of Adam and Scarlett is an interesting one! There are many moving pieces in this story. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to follow past or present but otherwise the story is great! I do get frustrated with Adam's dad. This is a great story to add to the series!

Hunter is the last book in the Sons of the Alpha series, and Carmichael did so amazingly in this conclusion it made the series for me.
If you saw my other reviews, then you know the first book wasn't my favorite- it was enjoyable but for me, I was in love with books 2 and 3 the most.
Book 4 has officially knocked them aside.
They have been ''de-throned''.

I loved seeing all the characters from the other books again, and (FINALLY) our main characters in Hunter had been side characters that I'd been so curious about all throughout the series! (Again: Eek!!)
Scarlet and Adam were in and out of this series, but never had the spotlight until now.
And goodness, did I love their romance.

An excellent ending to the series, a wild story with hair-raising revelations, sometimes a bit too short in the enlightening moments to follow the development, but overall beautiful. Sensitively and captivatingly told and always a reunion with old friends from the other 3 books. The unique combinations in all four books open the view to look at the world from a different perspective with fewer prejudices.

A wonderful reading experience!

This book is really making a great culmination to the Sons of Alpha series. I did not want to put it down till I was done reading the last sentence. Once again, the characters come to life right from the start, the story grips you and takes you on a pleasurable journey. I am so looking forward to the next series!!!

I enjoyed reading this exciting wolf shifter romance & found the characters to be quite well-developed & interesting. The secondary characters offer good support. The story-line is well-paced & written with intriguing plot, which keeps the reader’s attention.
There is: a tenacious professor of anthropologist (Scarlet), a wolf shifter (Adam) & 3rd son of the high alpha, wolf shifters, humans, Arcan hunters, a Were High Council, drama, intrigue, suspense, mates, danger, threats, violence, secrets, attractions, chemistry, mate bonding, mystery, adventure, action, enemies, danger, threats, longings, anxiety, manipulations, verbal conflict, curiosity, suspicions, unusual DNA, investigations, strange attractions, complications, determination, distrust, brotherly advice, insecurities, memories, confrontations, attacks, concern, discovery, decisions, misunderstandings, devious plans, unexpected help, surprises, love, some steam, contentment & a satisfying happy ending with a very interesting epilogue.

I’ll get right to the review. Let’s talk about the lead characters. I adored Dr. Scarlet Lupis. First, she held fast to her beliefs. She didn’t march to what society says or dictates. And Scarlet was determined to find out the truth for herself. She’s the kind of heroine every reader can cheer for. I loved her individualism.

As for Adam Bryant, he was just like Scarlet. Even though he belongs to a werewolf society, he wasn’t about to let culture, beliefs, and even his own family stop him from doing what he desired to do. He was ready to risk everything for his own view on life.

This makes them awesome pairing. And their romance matched their dogged personalities.

Hunter is the fourth in the Sons of Alpha series by Addison Carmichael. I was given an ARC by the author seeking an honest review. I found the book to be consistent with the theme of the previous three and I enjoyed reading it. I followed Adam Bryant and Scarlet Lupis in their quest to discover how a group of friends were shockingly murdered at the lake while at the same time trying to recall their connection to each other. Enthralling.

Not nearly as good as all the rest.

I really liked Knight. I loved Heir and Rebel both. Hunter, not so much. First, I know it's fiction, but one of my professors once said the difference between fiction and non fiction is that in fiction you have to get your facts right. And it matters.

The things off the bat that just flat annoyed the hell out if me. Carbon dating has on the gotten more accurate, Not less.Lucy is not, and really has not ever been considered the "missing link" Her species was the australopithecus afarensis. her species is considered to be more closely related with the homo genus That is the group that includes homosapiens them with the ape genus. Her DNA has proven to include strands of both Homosapien and Neanderthal DNA. Making the likelihood of her being considered an animal very Improbable. And it's not that I expect that I'm reading scientific information, but when you present it as "this is what modern science is now saying", please understand it's important that that be what modern science is actually saying. The people who do make these statements, and I have read them before, Are religious organizations attempting to debunk science. These are organizations try and Prove carbon dating can't be accurate because it doesn't align with the bible, same with evolution.Which is fine if you're going to write about religious leaders and religious thought but if you're writing about an actual scientist doing actual research the best place to get your information about what they would be finding in looking at is not religious text.

Now there will be spoilers

I absolutely could not even a little bit like Adam. He lied, he was sneaky, he was underhanded, And the BS he pulled after her attack It's called gaslighting that is what the name is for when you try to convince somebody that what they know to be true is not true. And every time she said "I saw this thing" and describe what it was she saw and he said "oh no you've been traumatized you've been on medication you can't be right" that's freaking gas lighting and it is considered a form of abuse, for good reason. And no matter how Many times he upset her by hiding information from her, He kept doing it. And there was never good reason to every single thing that he hid from her he was going to have to tell her eventually. He knows his parents are gonna hit the roof when they find out that he's made bonded to a full human But he let her go on thinking that they're just going to love her when they meet her. Knowing that I'm just a couple of hours she's gonna meet them and find out that oh no they don't. He just could not tell the truth no matter how easy it would be to do so.

And when she let him get away with just answering a few questions once the truth came to light And he never had to admit that what he was doing was gaslighting and lying went so far as to say oh no I never lie to you Instead of a meeting to it , I lost any respect for her that I might have ever had she should have run him through the ringers she should have had his dangly bits twisted and knots. Her in-laws put her in prison, sold her to the WHC,Was going to let her die And all that it took for her to forgive them was them to say "ahh we like you now." Adam should have had a screaming yelling biting mat with this family And she Should have had some kind of discussion with that about how she really didn't feel comfortable living in a place where they put her in prison for Being alive . There are a few people in my life that I love and it's people I trust or the mistreat them and anyway what so ever I don't think it would be that easy for me to get over and wanna hang out in the best buds with them.

Spineless weak Nothing commendable Other than her brains, which as stated earlier, she did not use to do actual science. I guess what I'm trying to say here is I just really didn't like any of the characters in this book.

On a family vacation 15year old Scarlet Lupis left her friends and met a boy who said he was out hunting, minutes later he told her to run. She did and her instincts told her to get help for her friends but when their parents got there, her friends had all been brutally murdered. Now even 15years later, Scarlet has no memory of that year and it haunts her.

Enforcer Adam Bryant remembered Scarlet and their long ago meeting the second she joined him, his brother, Luke and Luke’s new mate, Jade. Plus, he’s drawn to her then and now. But Scarlet doesn’t remember Adam… not clearly. Unable to get Scarlet out of his mind, Adam’s suspended for inattentiveness at work.

During his forced vacation, Adam runs into Scarlet at the scene of her missing summer and his first assignment as tracker. Scarlet’s still looking for answers and dances around her problem to Adam and he gently pushes her toward answers. Too bad that’s not their only problem, Adam’s a wolf and Scarlet’s human. A forbidden coupling as they discover something new.

Too much left unsaid

First I want to say that this is an amazing series and by far one of my favorites. That being said I was disappointed that scarlet never shift when her ancestor was able to after just being bitten when she had a full blood transfusion. Second I would have like to know what happened to the were-creatures she saved. One thing I did not like was Adams personality it didn’t match the same one he had in the previous books. Made him out to be like he was centuries old something you would expect from Neil or Jack who were born shortly after WW2. When Adam was really only 36

No Sorry?

I really liked the book. But by the end of this one couldn’t stand the alpha and No longer cared for Neil either. Which ruined the epilogue for me. I could believe Adam would talk to either of them ever again. Rob was kind of self centered jerk through the series. This book he went beyond being horrible and cruel. But the first 90% of the book was great! Loved the characters and plot.

This was the best

Wow! I’m so happy that the series went over all the questions that were not answered except what happened to the other people the one that changed with her blood? The little girl and the rest. It’s a little frustrating that the author does not finish certain stories she start. I really wish I knew. But the series as a whole is really good.

I found this series after finishing all the books available by Julie Trettel - I enjoyed this small series of 4 books by Addison Carmichael. Easy to read and enjoyable. All 4 stories very different and slightly linked so best to read in order.

Ugh, I wasn't a fan of the blatant gas-lighting in this book, especially when Adam had already Adam was also dumb AF when revealing and making Scarlet think there was another woman for some temporary contrived drama. Scarlet should have been way madder about it instead of forgiving Adam so quickly for all his stupid decisions.

Otherwise, like the other books, the action plot and relationship growth was somewhat interesting - the characters and kumbaya moment for the ending were not.
