Trailerverse #22

Never to Wonder

Rate this book
Pirates in Neverland. Madness in Wonderland. But Winnie's biggest danger is right by her side.

After hearing that her lost brother might be in Wonderland, Winnie begs Seamus Daragh who has access to that realm to take her there. He reluctantly agrees, and they set off on an adventure where she faces vampirates, lost children, Peter Pan, a mad queen, and an annoying cat. However, along the way, she realizes that her close friend, Seamus, has many faces. Some of which are seductive. Some which are confusing. And some that stir feelings that she shouldn't have. And one that could kill her.

In this side adventure from her main story, Winnie learns an important lesson about finding herself. She also learns more about the fight that she must return to in Steelshore. The problem is she might not get out of Wonderland alive. The madness threatens to take Seamus, her key to getting home. And old enemies surface looking to take revenge.

Follow Winnie's story of self-discovery from Neverland to Wonderland in Never to Wonder, a Trailerverse Novel.

This is the first in a collection of side stories following the characters of the Trailverse built by Kimbra Swain. Never to Wonder takes place in conjunction with the events in Midnight Rider, book two of the Dog River Wolfpack series. It should be read after that book, and before Triple Threat, book three of Stories of Frost and Fire. For a complete suggested reading order visit Kimbra's website.

Winnie, with Seamus as her partner and vehicle, sets forth to infiltrate Wonderland via Neverland. The result is an intricately woven story that left me breathless with anticipation of the next page. The tension, emotion, laughs, and action were expertly crafted. With the reveals unveiled within, I can't wait for the next story.

Never-Wonder

This was probably one of Winnie's best books and surprisingly the grammar and proofreading were pretty spot on. I know we aren't really supposed to mention that on Amazon because it can take the book down for too many complaints of this but it was fantastic to finally read one of her books with maybe 1 or 2 errors - so kudos to that. It's a huge achievement.
So still not really a fan of Winnie, and not sure why the author has chosen her as what it seems to be the best character in the trailerverse but nevertheless the story was great.
Her character is maturing more, which makes it easier to read but I am not going to lie it's always in the back of my mind that she was literally a kid like a year ago and now she's having sex and is really only 11 years old in human years - makes me feel weird when I think about it. I know other people probably don't feel the same but this is just my opinion.
Anyway it was great to learn more about the other realms and see Seamus' story and the short of Cat and Kat was good.
I enjoyed the play on Nederland and Wonderland and how the author put her spin on it, very unique.
The reason for the 4 star rating is because the word "huffed" was used entirely way too many times. I should have counted but literally Winnie "huffed" everything she said. It's probably on every 3rd page if not more, can you just imagine if you dealt with someone who "huffed" almost everything they said?? It would be like talking to an insolent child.
Also Winnie says her mom is pregnant with one baby but later in the story it references the babies, which I though from the other stories we knew she was pregnant with 2.
I like that the author included the map and the reading order, still wish there was a character map but thankfully this story didn't have that many characters.
Yes I recommend this to continue on with the trailerverse, overall a good read.

It's okay to be lost...

With her brother missing and her heart in tatters Winnie sets out on a journey to try and make some things right.

I may have given the story as a whole 4 stars, but I went with 5 because this part of Winnie's journey really spoke to me. As someone who likes to be in control and to know what is going on, I could totally identify with Winnie's struggles in this book. As she grew and faced her own problems I was encouraged to face mine. The following quote is timely, both in Winnie's journey and I think in the world today:

"The truth is, being found, isn’t a place. It’s a path. You make choices, and your path may look dark, but what you are looking for might be right on the other side or it might be a long, painful journey. Once you accept that you are on a path from one place to the next, you won’t be lost.”

Thanks Kimbra Swain for sharing Winnie's journey. I look forward to reading what is next.

Oh my goodness - I need several more pairs of socks because this read kept knocking them off!

Following Winnie and Seamus as they head off on quest to find Winnie's lost love, readers get a visit to Neverland and Wonderland. The cast of characters is great fun, and the story keeps spinning showing what a gifted storyteller Author Swain is. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it developed even further, and better.

This story is plugged into the Trailerverse world and various characters from it are mentioned or make appearances. It can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel, but I strongly suggest it being read as part of the Trailerverse continuum.

Highly recommended book, and I can't wait to reread it for the pieces I may have missed.

I read a beta copy and have chosen to review it because it's such a cool book!!

Amazingly poignant moments. Funny and smart.

Wow. Kimbra has written such an amazing book. Winnie and Seamus are a powerful combination. I do not want to give away spoilers but Winnie goes to Neverland and Wonderland and Kimbra captures the essence of these realms so flawlessly and with her own flair. Such a joy to read. I adore Winnie and Seamus. Deep meaningful moments and quite hilarious moments to. There is a Dodo that is just plain cool and quite interesting. I loved the pixie, Zinnia and I might have a serious crush on Seamus’s brother. A short story of Kat and Cat at the end is hilarious, sexy and has a wonderful twist.

I thought I wanted more of Seamus, Now I know I can never get enough. Winnie and Seamus travel into the Never-Wonder in search of Callum only to encounter all the twists and turns that make this another great Trailerverse Novel. You will learn so many things about our favorite Vampirette including interesting facts about his family. Now, keep in mind this book is not only about Seamus. Winnie is still trying to deal with pretty much losing Kyrie as well as trying to figure out her feelings for the Pirate. I loved this book so much and I know you will as well.

Another homerun

"Never to Wonder" is a continuation of Winnie's adventure. Several times, throughout this book, I found myself saying "did not see that coming", which I appreciate and love! The characters are real and believable...or as believable as supernatural characters can be anyway! SPOILER A
ERT: I've never been a fan of Wonderland, but I would like to explore Kimbra Swain's Wonderland. I love how she included Nederland and Wonderland as realms in her Trailerverse. The only bad thing is I now have to wait for her next book.

We all know and love Seamus, but we got the chance to see his other faces, or hats. It's kind of frustrating and interesting how all these characters connect to each other, and how they all have different sides and lives. Their multiple lives and how they are all connected from before can be overwhelming at times, but it does add interesting twists and turns.
I don't know what direction Winnie is going to take, just like her mother, she has so many interesting possible partners, but after this book, I'm team vampirate.

This is the author's best book yet! There is so much to love here. Adventure, humor, mystery, answers, and a sexy pirate to boot. Winnie and Seamus are off to find Callum and must go to some zany places. We are introduced to some new and intriguing characters. There are some shocking revelations. And there are some scenes that will leave you a little teary eyed. This one became so much more than I ever expected and it's one fans won't want to miss!

Another amazing journey in the long list of trips Kimbra has taken me on. The way she puts her twist on familiar faces still blows my mind. While this story is an excellent adventure of it's own, it is the way she makes the characters everyone knows her own is one of the many reasons she is my favorite author! Her words move me into the world she creates in a way that still amazes me. With every installment my love for these characters grows!

I've said time and time again, Kimbra Swain is the best. Never to Wonder was a home run. A slam dunk. A touch down. A strike. A muthafudging winner!! Winnie is searching for her brother, Callum. Seamus the wicked sexy Vampirate, takes her to Wonderland, hoping to find him. What ensues is a bit of madness, chaos, heart to hearts and a very sweet reminder that family is everything. Kimbra writes from the heart and I love the significance she places on family and friends. So much amazing!

Holy cow!

Wow, just wow. I don't know where to start. I got answers to questions I didn't know I had. Neverland and Wonderland were entertaining and dangerous, and Seamus is rising in my esteem. Who'd have guessed it? Kimbra, you're a genius.
Cat and Kat were great as well. (Of course) I always knew they had to be working for someone.

This book was amazing. My favorite sexy vampirate was so intriguing in this book, I loved getting to know him better. The entire story revealed so many twists and turns to the storyline and world that I was constantly in a bit of shock and awe at how it all intertwines. Don’t miss this book in the trailer verse world! I can’t wait for more, I was very sad to see the last page this time.

Wonderful

Wonderland...Neverland...

My favorite line in the book “It’s ok to not be ok. ... it’s ok to be lost.”

Growing up actually means Realizing that despite the bad and the ugly things in the world, everyone is searching for a place to belong and someone to belong with...

Never to Wonder leads you to a world of wonder

Winnie and Seamus head to Neverland and the to Wonderland. All in the hopes of finding her brother, Callum. Instead she finds pirates, danger, madness and the Queen of Hearts. Also none as Seamus's mother. Through it all Winnie learns more about herself. Although a novella this book has a heart of a full grown novel.

Winnie's journey

A vampire and a Phoenix get mixed up in Neverland, Wonderland, Faerie politics and stranger ties Norse mythos and more. Like the other trailerverse novels, this book is about emotional growth and family and young adulthood that is set primarily around Winnie. Overall, a solid entry and a fun read.

How does she do it?

The characters and how they work with each other across the trailerverse. When she was writing the first Fairy Tailer Park, did she know the characters would end up here? An amazing read and character development. Can't wait for the next one.
