Lots of action, so much so that I didn’t really feel a deep connection between the H/H. I also noticed typos and repetitive phrasing, as well as incorrect and inconsistent military ranks and timelines. At one point Jack told Kelli an item was in his sock and two pages later it was in his vest. (There were a few things like that.) Good twist to the mystery, although

This was a good Christian suspense story set in Northwestern U.S. interesting characters and good plot. Too much repetitive introspection by the main characters that could have been cut but that’s just my opinion. The action scenes were well written.

This was a good book. What kept it from being great was that it seemed a little chopping in some areas. I do like POV changes and the author did that well in this book. But I think some of the hero's feelings seemed forced in places. He was a little hard to relate to, though I was rooting for him and his team to succeed. The heroine was a little easier to relate to and I admired her tenacity and drive. I also liked that these characters were portrayed as living their faith, so the inspirational element is there in an appropriate way. Of course, that's just one person's opinion.
The action scenes were fun, if a couple of them seemed a little "out there." They weren't implausible, just kinda crazy, which is what you might expect when faced with an unexpected situation being thrown in your face. I liked that because it was fun to read. Of all the characters, though, I think Austin (the hero's best friend), is probably my favorite. Gotta love a broken hero, right? I'm looking forward to reading his story as soon as I can.
If you enjoy clean suspence romance with some inspirational themes, then you'll probably enjoy this one.

Overall, it's a good ride

I liked the story and the characters. The plot was good and it took me a bit to figure out who dun it. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because there were several continuity issues - mostly to do with character names or the wrong character in a situation. But because of my job, I notice these things, so it may not bother others. Overall, it was a good ride and I look forward to the next book.

Good story. Terrible proofing and editing. There are so many errors in it, it might make you crazy! Also, not a reflection on the stories, and it's probably just me, but I hate the covers on these series. I passed up reading them for quite some time, solely based on the cover art.. I know, I know, never judge a book by it's cover, but let's be real, we all do it!

My review today is on the Romantic Suspense, Hard Landing. This is book one in the Hope Landing Series. This is the first book I've read of Edie's but I will read more. I really enjoyed the story. It's well written, action packed, and full of drama. Faith is a vital part of this story. I know you are going to love it.

Kellie Spencer is disturbed when she goes out to go to work. She's had a rough time with a stalker so her mind automatically goes in that direction when she see men's footprints in her drive. Then she remembers her father is taking her jeep in to put new tires on. A police officer comes to her office tell her that her father has been in an accident. Her brakes had failed. They soon find out that her brake lines had been cut. Could it be her stalker? Her father calls for help. Kellie doesn't need to see that man again. He broke her heart.

Ex-SEAL Jake Reese now works for Knight Tactical; he and his team had been recruited when their boss retired and started his own investigating firm. He had loved Kellie but chose to leave her and join the Navy ten years ago. He didn't plan to ever return to Hope Landing or to Kellie. He let her down. How would she feel about him? He had to keep her safe and find this mad man.

A journey to stay one step ahead of a mad man. This process is full of twists and turns. They must protect Kellie and the staff of Spencer Aviation. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too; a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him turn your life around even in this time of violence and Covid.

Kelli Spencer has been harassed by a stalker who thinks she is the one meant for him. When her dad drives her car and has an accident, the mechanic finds the brake lines have been cut. She says it sounds like something her stalker would do but he’s in jail. Then she learns he was bailed out. Bob Spencer is determined to keep his daughter safe and brings in Jack Reese as her bodyguard. Jack is part of a team of former SEAL’s now run as security operatives. She thinks she is safe but the bad guy is operating inside Spence Aviation and Kelli has no idea of what is going on.

Her accountant Eric Ashbrook is in cahoots with one of their clients. The accountant at West Coast is Jimmy Kitching and he is Eric's partner. He bills West Coast for services not rendered and Jimmy pays the bill. Money is split between them. A higher-up at West Coast has caught on to the scheme and the two are trying to leave the country. Now they are up against the former SEAL's and they lose.

Kelli and Jack had been high school friends but Jack had been in a hurry to leave his hometown and see the world. Now he only wants to be back with Kelli and realizes she is his whole world.

This book would’ve been a five star no-brainer with the exception of a few things. I don’t need a wide open door, hot and heavy, spicy romance novel, but completely closed door with only two kisses in the entire book just leaves everything a little lackluster. For how much they claim to love each other and be into each other, neither one of them does anything about it. My second issue, which is likely not an issue for most, is the frequent and repetitive mention of their relationship with the Lord, finding God, praying, and everything else. I have zero problems with having faith and having a relationship with God, however, it was frequently brought up and mentioned, and in my opinion had zero anything to do with the storyline. If you deleted all of those parts out, the story would have been the same, possibly even better. It just seemed unnecessary to the characters and the story. All in all, not really the story I was expecting, and I’m not sure. I’ll read the next one.

This is my first time reading something by this author. It's a second chance romance, but with the added elements of mystery and danger. Full of suspense, drama, and romance, it will keep you hooked all the way through to the end. It has well-developed characters with likable and endearing qualities and an thrilling storyline. Jack and Kellie were a great couple and had wonderful chemistry. The plot was interesting and had some plot twists and turns that made this an interesting and intriguing story. I enjoyed it very much and am looking forward to reading more by this author!

WONDERFUL!!!!

Wow! What an amazing story!!!

I LOVE Seals based novels that are clean and thrilling. I just discovered this author and series and am beyond delighted! I can’t wait to read the entire series. Jack Reese is a hunk hero and the rest of the operatives are bold, brazen tough former SEALs. The author gave each one a great personality and I felt like I knew each one like good friends by the time I finished reading. And Kellie and Jack’s story was so heart warming and romantic (although Jack needed some prodding to get on with the show!)

I LOVED this and will immediately dive into the next novel in this marvelous series. Love those Navy macho men!! ☺️😉

There were a number discrepancies in time, age, and physical description of some characters. And as I am continuing the series I am still finding that to be confusing.
In the next book in the series, I am finding there is a personality change in Austin, and Lauren learning small things about his character that she should already know based on what we learn of him as aside character in this book.
But in this book, dealing with Jack and Kelly, I believe their physical descriptions stay consistent, and their relationship/ feelings comes about without it being rushed or too unbelievable.
Bypassing the disparities in this book, it was pretty good.

Hard Landing was the first book I’ve read by Edie James. The characters had some interesting personality traits that displayed deep intensity but also some humor. The plot was good, the action moved fast enough and it took me a while to suspect the villain. The only problem I had in keeping my interest was the repetitive attitude of Brody in his reasoning for not wanting to return to his hometown. Also toward the end it was a little confusing in some of the details of the abduction of Kelli and Brody. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

When Kelli is threatened by a stalker her father contacts her old love ex Seal Jack and his team to keep her safe. If she can keep her heart as safe as he is determined to keep her she should have no problems. This is a great action romance that will keep you guessing who is the bad guys. I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to more from this author.

Good Ending and Good Beginning

What sticks out with me is when our injured ex-Seal hobbles forward and slams a fist into the villain’s face. “Didn’t your Momma teach you not to hit women, “ he says in Kelli’s defense. I also liked how he finally managed to share his true feelings with her. Segueing into the next novel, we see Jack captivated as he watches the woman of his dreams. Enter Austin and Lauren and their story....and now, the reader is hooked on the next episode.

Captain Jack

What an incredible mixture of guys
who work together for Knight Tactical Team. All former Navy SEALS,, each has a particular area of expertise. When Kelli's Dad realized that someone was out to harm Kelli, he hired them to find the culprit. That brings Kelli's first and only love back into her life temporarily. She doesn't like it at all. There is danger, planning, fun, lots of nerves, Faith, and romance. An exciting read!

Knights at work

Exciting story with great characters. The editing is poor which frustrates me. Talented people who can write stories that keep readers interested should care about the finished product. There are twists in the story that leave you dizzy and a charm in the romance of heartbroken Kelli and heart breaker Jack. I want to read about Austin, who was captured by Lauren early in this book, as their story is next in this series .

enjoyable

I did enjoy this book and the characters, despite the numerous grammatical errors and inconsistencies, such as multiple characters changing names. I would have rated this book 3.5 stars for those, if it let me, as that is a pet peeve of mine. Without those errors, I would have given a 5 star rating. Despite how much I hate errors like that, I liked this book enough to ignore them and continue reading the series.

Hard Landing

This is a fast paced suspense featuring a team of retired military men who are called upon for protection as well as their investigative skills among other things. This particular book is about Jack who is called back to his hometown of Hope Landing by a father figure from his childhood to protect the girl he ran away from to join the service when he graduated college. Kelli is that girl. How can he keep her safe without falling in love with her all over again?

It was ok

I certainly didn't guess who the villain was. Interesting twist in the tail. I did find both of their assuming that the other didn't want a relationship a bit annoying after a while. It all plays out VERY rapidly as well. The one thing that spoiled the story for me was God being referred to as 'the man upstairs' and 'the big guy'. Personally I feel that it is very disrespectful to address God Almighty in that way.

This was one of the toughest stories to get through to the end in a while for me. The writing is amateurish, the tense shifts abundant and annoying, the dialogue sophomoric, and the sub-characters thrown in willy nilly with little to no character development. I liked the cover image and the potential that this story has so I'm generously giving it 3 stars. I almost forgot, as an old veteran I know Morse code, and the portrayal in the story is wrong on that count too.

A tough tactical group protecting a woman threatened

Kelli was in danger so her dad called in help. The team leader was someone had loved 10 years ago. Jack had changed, but was more attractive now. As they try to protect her, she has no idea who is after her.
The book takes on an exciting journey, keeping you guessing how it will end. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Kelli Spencer has been haunted by the memories of her stalker, her heart still racing with fear, when it seems the nightmare is resurfacing. The story is interesting and fast-paced. It also has a great twist that I didn’t expect. I enjoyed the characters and the second chance romance. Also, the Christian values were woven in beautifully. It was a page turner that I enjoyed very much.

Sweet

I enjoy trying new to me authors, & this was a clean, engaging story! I struggled with one part that could have been written more convincingly. Or perhaps a better term would be- more mysteriously. About half way through the book it is obvious, & any agent/police officer etc would have caught who was the perpetrator. I enjoy books that leave you guessing til the end so that knocked it down a couple starts from 5. I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

Great Christian action, adventure, romance

I really enjoyed this book with the mystery, action, and romance renewal between Jack and Kelli. The characters are former SEALs who now work in the private sector for Knight Tactical. The action is exciting. I appreciate the Christian message sprinkled in. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Her Stalker Wants More

Fast paced. Lots of action. Who wants to Kell Kelli? Jack Reese has loved Kelli Spencer for over a decade. But someone wants to harm her. He's an ex-Seal now working private protection. Enjoy the warm hearted, but kick butt ex military men plus a heroine who isn't a shrinking flower.

My take

As a loving Christian it’s hard to criticize but maybe it will help Edie James realize all the characters in her book are too overblown except for the villains.

I am not a writer or any other type of professional associated with writing, but I have been a avid fiction reader for over 60 years and I know good writing.

Meh! It was ok. Didn't realize it was christian fiction until I heard the first "pray" about 10 words in. Storyline was ok. Listened to it on 2x speed to power through. Don't think I'll continue with the rest of this series. Unfortunately, I actually paid for the first book of another series by this author...
