When Savannah Carter takes a job as a personal assistant in upstate New York, she never expects to be working for a man like Wade Hart. With his sparkling green eyes and devious smile, he is a man she both hates and adores. When their professional relationship becomes more intimate, Savannah is ecstatic … until she hears a phone call that changes everything.
“I never should have hired her, she can ruin everything.”
Those words whispered by Wade on the phone shock her, but before she can confront him about what she's heard, he disappears, leaving only a cryptic note behind.
Suddenly Savannah’s “too good to be true” job seems to be exactly that. What are the secrets that Wade is hiding from her? How is she a threat to him? And just who is her mysterious new friend Gordon, and why is he so insistent on being in her life?
While Savannah’s heart is falling for Wade, her brain is telling her to run. Can the man who ignites her hidden passions be her happily ever after? Or should she heed the warnings and run back to New York City before she gets burned?

This is Book 2 in The Hart Brothers series. I strongly recommend reading Book 1 To Whom It May Concern.
Savannah Carter is a beautiful 22 year old desperate for work. She accepts a job as a live in personal assistant to Wade Hart in upstate New York. Wade Hart is a gorgeous green eyed mystery!
This story picks up with her overhearing a private conversation with Wade and his brother Henry. She isn’t sure what to make of it.
Wade and Savannah are instantly attracted to each other in book 1, their sexual chemistry is explosive. But, Savannah knows Wade is hiding secrets, in this book all will be revealed. Heartbreaking, tragic and thankfully happiness!
Well written storyline, good flow and great narrative. Now, I can't wait to read hopefully about Lucy and Henry!
I was given a copy of this ARC for an honest review.

3 ⭐️

Savannah annoyed me so so much 😭 she was sleeping with someone who could be a potential murderer and heard about his 'criminal acts' and she doesn’t care? This girl is living in denial, she is so blinded by love that she doesn’t recognise the threat even when it’s right in front of her eyes. Every time she found out another secret and Wade began to act really suspicious, it would be common sense to be wary around him but noooo🙄🙄 go ahead and run straight into his arms and help yourself to another orgasm while skinny dipping in the pool at night. Ignore the fact that someone was stalking them and watching them make love and stealing their towels. Mc has her priorities STRAIGHT and it’s clear as day. 😭 It’s like we were getting so far on uncovering the plot and then as soon as she sees him, we’re back to square one.

The ending was shocking and although I found myself extremely irritated with this book, it was a lot better than the first one. I was so intrigued by the mystery of Wade and his family it was almost physically painful to see the mc ignoring all the possible red flags. Not that there was any at the end. I’ve grown to at least tolerate Wade 😊 I give this book a ⭐ because it was a lot better than the first one and I loved the thriller/mystery aspect of it but it still irritated me.

4 star Review of Return to Sender (The Hart Brothers #2) by J S Cooper

After the ending of To Whom It May Concern I couldn’t wait to see what Ms. Cooper had in store for Wade Hart and Savannah Carter. So if you haven’t read book one. then stop, you need to read it to fully understand what happens in this book. There were secrets and miss communication between Wade and Savannah and we were left with so many questions that needed answers.

This book picks up where the last one ended. With the help of her best friend Lucy, Savannah slowly but surely learns the secrets that Wade has been keeping. Will they bring them together or tear them apart? The chemistry that sizzles between Savannah and Wade is just as intense and you cannot help but become invested in the story that Ms.Cooper weaves. It was funny, steamy , drama filled and was an entertaining read that had me hooked from the first to the last chapter.

There were so many twists and turns and I admit to being surprised on occasion. The heat and passion was there, as was the angst and I felt that this was a good conclusion.

I couldn't wait to dive into the world of Wade and Savannah again. I've missed them! 😍

The first book left me with so many questions... I was dying to figure out what was going on. So many secrets, it was like trying to put a broken puzzle together again. Searching for missing pieces, finding one that doesn't quite fit in place. I was on the edge of my seat.

The angst, surprises, steam and twist... I enjoyed it so very much. I'd love for Henry and Lucy to get their own story. 🤞

I received a free ARC from J. S. Cooper for the promise of an honest review.

I would give it 3.5 stars. Savannah gets really annoying in this book. Wade is like a little boy needing approval. The mystery is anticlimactic.

At the end of To Whom It May Concern, Savannah and Wade finally slept together and that is where this book picks up. Wade announces he has a business trip to go on and leaves before Savannah wakes up the morning after they slept together. Savannah is hurt by his actions and calls her best friend, Lucy. Lucy comes to visit and the two set out to discover Wade's secret. I know that Savannah and Lucy antics are supposed to be entertaining and funny but a few screens they become annoying.

Then there is Gordon. He is a little whiny. I think his story could have added to the mystery a little more.

I really did not like this book. This story should of been finished in book one. Wade gets extremely moody and more aggressive towards Savannah. Then for some reason her friend visits for a long time but I'm not sure why she can stay so long. It bothered me. Gordon was underutilized....

The middle part of book---boring. Savannah seems immature especially thrilled to have lost her virginity....

The end bothered me because of the legal implications. It was a loose end and icky. Too many people know (Beryl was a strange character) and it keeps a dark secret going.

Sorry. No likey.

I read at least 400 books this year so this book earned this awful review.

Thanks to author for ARC. I've liked so many of her prior books so maybe a new beta team!!???

Book 2 in the Hart Brothers duet and let me just say it was soooo good. You need to read To Whom It May Concern because this is the continuation of Wade and Savannah’s story. When you finished book 1, Savannah has overheard Wade and his brother Henry talking and she assumes the worst especially when he leaves without a word. With the help of her friend, Lucy, she starts to investigate his secret. When you add Gordon into the mix, this story will pull you in and not let go and it will be worth the ride.

Return to Sender is the second book in The Hart Brothers series and continues where the first book, To Whom It May Concern left off. There's plenty of suspense, secrets, angst, unexpected twists, family drama, mystery, witty banter, and steam to keep you on the edge-of-your seat until the very end.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Such a cute duet! Savannah & Wade were on different pages at certain times but it comes together in the end. This picks up where book 1 left off and with how Wade left Savannah of course she was going to call her bestie to look into things with her in the funniest way!! Loved these two bffs the most

This book was so awful. The writing just got worse in this book. There were errors and it was missing a lot. There should have been one book because all you really got out is this book was sexual innuendos and sex. There was no real love in this book. He was crazy and she was too young and gullible. Then daddy appears from the dead and it just did not make any sense. So bad.

I was so excited to finally read the conclusion to Wade and Savannah story. When the first book left us on a cliffhanger, I was dying to know the secrets surrounding the Hart brothers and why Wade was so back and forth with Savannah. Savannah is determined to find out why Wade is so sweet one second then so distance the next and what could he be hiding. Savannah with the help of her friend Lucy set out to try to find some answers at this point the more they stumble on something the more questions they get instead of answers, which leads Lucy to start to jump to conclusions. At this point Lucy started to irritate me with all her cray theories, I know she was just wanting to protect Savannah but to me she was putting all these ideas in her head that wasn’t helpful at all. Luckily, Savannah kept holding on to her love she felt for Wade to hope that maybe he would come forth with answers. Wade even though secretive still had his moments where you could see the love, he felt for Savannah shine through and I wanted to see more moments like this between them. I loved how things went and the mystery kept me entertained throughout, it was a fast paced read and I wish would get more of them together as a couple but I am hoping Henry gets a story and wee see more of Wade and Savannah.

After reading To Whom It May Concern, I knew the second I started reading this book I wouldn’t be able to stop until I finished aaaand I didn’t. I was up until 4am because I could not stop reading! The ride this book took me on was even more winding than the first, it was a mind bend that had me from page one.

I really enjoyed the character development in this book, Savannah takes on a more assertive role and Wade’s overall personality is more prominent, especially in relation to Savannah. The setting of the book as an eccentric little town full of misfits was so unusual yet fitting for the story. Characters that surround Savannah and Wade were not always as they appear and some seemed downright batty. However, all play an important role and helped so much in the strengthening of the mystery. Just have to say my favorite character, hands down, was Lucy. She is a friend everyone should have, I’d want her on my team EVERY time!!

This duet was a fantastic mystery romance that grips you from book one and holds on til the very end of book two. Would definitely recommend both of these books!

4.5 Stars for Return To Sender ( The Hart Brothers #2)
I was excited for this book and it didn’t disappoint, I really love Wade Hart and Savannah Carter and I was intrigued to see how they’re story was going to pan out. If you haven’t read book one To Whom It May Concern please stop right now, you do need to read that book to understand and enjoy this one.
This book picks up right where book one ended. Savannah with the help of her best friend Lucy is slowly finding out the secrets Wade has kept from her, but what will happen when all the secrets are revealed will they bring them closer together or push then further apart.....
This book touched me on so many levels, it intrigued me, it has twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and it has characters I adore. It’s passionate and witty with just the right amount of drama and I felt this story really gave me all the answers I needed from the first book.

Although Wade and Savannah may not have gotten off to the most ideal start when she begin working for him things are beginning to heat up. With everything she learns about him she wants to learn more and what she sees beneath his cold demeanor intrigues her. Just when their relationship begins to become personal as well as professional, she overhears a conversation which leaves her wondering who this man really is.

Rather than Wade explaining what has transpired he leaves on a trip instead and Savannah is not about to stand idly by. Instead she recruits her best friend Lucy to help her find the answers she needs and that is when the fun really begins.

The characters are captivating, and the combination of secrets, surprises and steam make this an enjoyable conclusion to this duet.

This is the second book in the Hart Brother's Series and everything just gets more intense. You really need to read the first book in the series so you will have all the back story. In this book Wade and Savannah's story continues. Secrets magnify and the deception continues. Gordon comes into the picture and why is he so intent on being her friend and scoping out the Hart estate? Why is Wade more distant and mysterious? This is a great book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Be prepared to lose some sleep because once you start reading you won't be able to put this book down. I read an advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.

This is the second half of a duet. You have to read To Whom It Mat Concern first. This is the story of Savannah Carter and Wade Hart. She is desperate for a job and accepts one to be the live in assistant of Wade in upstate New York. This book takes up right where book one left off and we find Savannah hearing a conversation between Wade and his brother that she Jas no idea what to think of it. She knows that Wade is hiding thing and she also knows they have this explosive chemistry between them. This is the book that answers all your questions . I loved reading it! This was a weird quirky story.  It kept you guessing all the way to the end.  I have to admit that it cut out very quick to me.  I would have liked to explore the answers and relationships more.    I guess you could say that money can't buy everything.  Wade had an abundance and wasn't happy.  Savannah was young and impressionable. I love when a story has a dog,  so Jolene was a welcome addition.

This is the second half of the duet of Savannah and Wades story. It continues right where the first book left off. The first book To Whom It May Concern left you hanging on what is going on. What secrets Wade has and what is Savannah going to do about it? You need to read To Whom It May Concern before you read this one. You will be lost and missing a lot of information if you try to read this book without reading book one. That being said, wow this was a good story. I was honestly kept guessing clear to the end. Normally I have things figured out before the end of the book but not this time. I can’t say much without giving a lot of spoilers, but I will say I was not disappointed and really was happy with the way things ended and the way the author wrapped up the storyline. Definitely worth the wait.

Wade & Savannah’s Angsty Romance Comes To An Emotional Conclusion! Fans Of To Whom It May Concern Will Be Thrilled To See The Couple’s Happy Ending.

This is book two of The Hart Brothers series. It picks up immediately after the devastating cliffhanger that ends book one, To Whom it May Concern. The Hart brothers include Wade and Henry, though their father was known for his philandering and there is a rumor of at least one illegitimate sibling.

From book one, To Whom it May Concern:

Savannah Carter, twenty-two, is a literary nerd. She lacks skills in the kitchen and lives like a slob, but she loves to belt out original verse in poetry slams. She is intellectually intelligent, yet often comes up lacking in common sense. The new Columbia University grad earned a degree in English along with $100,000 in debt. No longer able to live off of student loans, her rent is about to be due and job prospects in the current economy are bleak. She shares a Manhattan apartment with her best friend Lucy, who just got an internship in a small publishing house and is barely making her half of the rent for the month. Either Savannah finds a job fast, or they may both need to leave New York and return home to their parents. As much as she loves them, Savannah doesn’t want to move back to Florida. She enjoys the city and the ability to be anonymous in a crowd and remake herself at will.

Two job ads catch her attention, but both jobs sound a little questionable with their promises of a high income. Despite the red flags and warning bells, Savannah isn’t deterred from enquiring about them. One leads her to Talia Enterprises in New Jersey. She has high hopes, but when she finds that she cannot get away fast enough, she reluctantly pursues the other position – with The Wade Hart. Even before they graduate from an email exchange to a phone interview, Savannah finds herself infuriated with her potential employer and more than shocked at his inappropriate words. Nevertheless, Savannah soon leaves Lucy and New York behind for a six month assignment as Wade Hart’s live-in personal assistant. Herne Hill Village is located several hours outside of the city, and Hart Manor sits just outside of the small rural town.

Wade Hart, thirty, is a businessman focused on trade in emerging markets. He is also a little crazy. He doesn’t trust people, so he lives a relatively secluded and exceedingly private life in his manor. A Harvard undergrad and Wharton Business School graduate, he runs an impressive business while assisting third-world countries to implement sustainable businesses. His magnetic character and good looks guarantee he gets what he wants, whether in business or in his personal life. A sense of awe and mystery surround him. He prefers to avoid talking about himself, perhaps in part due to an unhappy childhood. His best friend is his brother Henry, two years his junior. Their parents divorced, thanks to their mother, who then got custody, moved to Paris, and sent Wade and Henry away to boarding school in England. They got to spend summers at the Hart Manor with their father, but he had ultimately died of a broken heart. Despite their wealth, it seems the Hart brothers weren’t immune to their own share of problems, and abandonment issues probably rank high on the list.

As Savannah arrives and settles into her new job and home at the Hart Manor, Henry Hart is in town. He is flirty and kind – quite different than his standoffish and moody brother. Wade is hot and cold, and is perfectly comfortable with not well-masked innuendo with his new employee. But Savannah is intelligent and quick in her come backs, and her sense of humor prevents things from getting too heavy. She tries to keep perspective and remain professional, though that is impossible around Wade. But between Henry’s off-hand comments, a kooky waitress named Beryl, Mrs. Louisa Thiefton, and a man named Gordon, there are hints at secrets that threaten turn things upside down. Something is happening that Savannah is clearly not aware of.

From this book:

After a beautiful day together, Wade and Savannah had seemed to have turned the corner in their relationship despite his mother’s interference. Savannah maintains perspective and doesn’t allow herself to get dragged into the drama – until she herself overhears Wade’s desperate call to Henry. According to Wade, Savannah can ruin everything for them, and hiring her was a mistake. Given she just professed her love to Wade, the statement is a strike to her heart. Still she hardens her armor and gives Wade the opportunity to confess his concerns, but it is clear that he intends to keep her at a distance with his secrets. But the biggest blow of all is when he disappears in the middle of the night and leaves her with a note saying he will return in few weeks.

Savannah is lost, lonely, confused, and a little afraid when she awakes to an empty and spooky mansion. She can’t help but take the sudden disappearance personally, and the secrets that seem to be keeping her and Wade apart become her new obsession. Her imagination runs wild as to the hidden truths that put Wade into a panic. Something dark – murder or kidnapping perhaps. After all she hardly knows him – he isn’t exactly an open book. With the theory that her friend Gordon might have some answers, Savannah arranges to see him. Their meeting leaves her with more questions than answers, however. Beryl at the Herne Hill Village Café is of limited use, though she seems to know more than she lets on. Best friend Lucy makes arrangements to work remotely and stay with Savannah. With Savannah’s dog Jolene in tote, Lucy arrives with a take-charge attitude and a mission to find the facts needed to determine if Savannah is really in danger. The plot thickens when their investigation turns to old articles, an investigative reporter named Misha Waterman, and Wade’s former assistant.

In this book the story shifts as Savannah and her best friend Lucy embark on an investigation of the Hart brothers’ secrets. That is the primary focus of the story. Wade and Savannah do have some one-on-one time, but their relationship is on borrowed time unless and until Savannah and Lucy determine that his secrets don’t put Savannah’s safety in jeopardy. Henry reappears in this story, and his personality shines through. He and a certain someone share some entertaining banter. But he and Wade are not about to give up their secrets, and Savannah has a choice to make. Despite the divide, Wade and Savannah have some very steamy moments and their connection hits you in the gut from the start. They eventually earn a teary but happy ending.

Wade and Savannah’s story is a slow burn that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The couple’s banter is fabulous! Wade has a way with words, always twisting things around and shifting the conversation as he pleases. He is intriguing and adorable one moment, but utterly despicable the next. Savannah senses in him a little boy that is drowning in a world of hurt, which is the only excuse she has for indulging him. She usually manages him well, completely capable of sparring him word for word, though she sometimes allows him to get away with something far too easily. Despite her inexperience, she manages to get past the various disses and games that might have sent most girls running from Wade. Savannah doesn’t exactly have the traditional traits of a nurturer, but the fact that she can take Wade’s moods and dish back at him seems to give him a level of comfort with her that he hadn’t ever expected to find.

Wade and Savannah’s angsty romance comes to an emotional conclusion. Fans of To Whom it May Concern will be thrilled to see the couple’s happy ending. Savannah had stepped into a job at an estate filled with painful family memories that continue to hold Wade hostage. There are a few laughs and a teary ending. There are lots of shocking words and actions. The underlying question throughout is: what is behind the mask? What motivates Wade? The answers are given within. The story is plot-driven. The story is written in first person from Savannah’s POV. I rate this book four stars.

If you are an ARC reader I would warn you not to be as honest as I just was or you will be removed from the team.

I'm generally a big fan of this author, but this duet was just not my favorite. The heroine was profoundly stupid, i mean, come on! And it just felt like the second book was about nothing. It was really difficult to finish after enjoying the verbal interplay between the two characters in the first book. In this one when they are finally interacting, it's almost entirely sexual. The big secret is very anticlimactic and everything just fell flat. This is one duet you could skip no problem and move on to her better work.

Return to Sender is book two of a two book series; you need to read them both for either to make sense, neither stand alone!

Both are well written, as are all JS Cooper's books, however I think with this one when the two main characters separated and the two girls got back together the storyline changed dramatically. Neither of the female characters were written with any 'street smarts' and both had a complete naivety and youthful to them of young women who have recently moved to independent living after a lifetime of being supported by parents. I think that JSC captured their youthful enthusiasm and language use perfectly down to the constant calling each other 'girl', which annoyed me to frustration! The writing gave you a sense of their excitement about journeying into being 'grown ups' with sex lives and boyfriends; trying to discover what hides behind the mysteries of the house and people who live there.

The characters were great. From the two main characters who sizzled with a weird sexual chemistry from book one into book two; to the brother, the best friend, the mother, the actor, the elk, the waitress, the chef and even the dog. They were all strange and had their own story to tell if the time was right. From poetry to acting, film making to burger tossing there was something for everyone to read about.

To be honest I'm not sure that this was JSC's best piece of work but it exactly what was needed to complete the story of book one. It picked up the reader at the bottom of the cliff that we all fell off at the end of the book and carried us to the only possible conclusion there could be.

I loved this book, faults and all, and if you read book one you have to read book two; it would be rude not to!!

I'm totally recommending you add both books to your Kindle library today xx

I received a free copy of this book from the author and provide my honest review voluntarily.

This was great!

This is the second part of the story "To who it may concern."

Savannah and Wade are intimate and she lost her virginity and heart in the process to him.
But in the precedent book she caught Wade talking to his brother on the phone saying that he regret to have let her in their life and that she would ruin them.

Savannah is intrigued and with the help of her best friend lucy, investigate to find out Wade secret.

I liked this book better, because we are as lost as the heroine and don't find out what the deal is until the end. The pace was great and there was a lot of nerves cracking twists.
The story between Wade and Savannah is complicated because there is a crazy attraction between them and the steamy scenes are 🔥🔥🔥But they don't trust each other.

I liked everything and couldn't put it down!

Bad point?

I didn’t like the end of the story. For me. It was ruched. I felt like the story needed more chapters maybe even one more book.🤔
After all the mystery I was disappointed by the conclusion.
I found the accident useless. I know that it served like a way to explain that somehow it pushed Wade to tell her. But it felt wrong.

The secret was not so terrible either and didn't justify for me all the drama. I was disappointed that we didn't get a glimpse on Lucy and Harry too.

I hated the way Wade was like a love fool after the accident too.
He is passed to "I keep her at distance." all man, and controlled to talking marriage and babies. I was not believable, whereas it has been just a few weeks that they knew each other.
There again it would have been better to have some chapters to see how he open his heart to her and how their relationship evolved .

I was frustrated at the end but it was still a great read!

Fun, steamy and interesting story but very ditzy lead character in Savannah
Did Ms. Cooper really want Savannah to be stupid or just naïve? I don’t know but that was her persona in this book. If the author intended to make her look like that then kudos to her. That’s why I’m giving this book 3.75 stars b/c I just want badly for that to be true. I don’t rate a book on my opinion of the kind of story it is but on its execution. If it is meant to be scary, for instance, and it accomplishes that, I will give it a high mark even if horror is not my genre of choice. With the hope that Ms. Cooper intended to make Savannah and Lucy less than mature and definitely naïve, I’m sticking with the 3.75 stars.
So, this is the sequel of TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN which introduced us to Savannah, Lucy, Wade, Henry and Gordon. In this book we get down to the mystery of it all. Savannah and Lucy decide to find out on their own what deep dark secrets Wade and Henry share and need to keep from her. They ask the most ridiculous people what they “know” and wonder why their puzzle pieces equal way more than the box shows! It seemed to end suddenly too. I expected maybe an epilogue or something to round out the story. In any event I now know the “why” of the overheard phone conversation and got an HEA.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book. Shades of Lucille Ball and her side-kick Ethel?

This is the second book and final book in The Hart Brothers Series. Return to Sender picks up where To Whom It May Concern ended. Savannah and Wade are now treading new waters in their relationship.Secrets and twists come to the front while Savannah, Wade, and Gordon maneuver through all of the obstacles. Will Savannah learn the truth that the Hart brothers are hiding? Will Wade be honest with himself and Savannah? Will Gordon finally get the answers that he's looking for?

I absolutely loved this finale. Ms. Cooper continues to weave a tale of love, loss, friendships, betrayals, and suspense. I literally could not put this book down. I had to find the answers and see how it ended. The way that the secret was handled was extraordinary. Ms. Cooper kept me on my toes because I could not figure out what it was until it was revealed. The chemistry between Savannah and Wade is sizzling and explosive. I felt pity and sometimes anger towards Gordon. If you like a great romance that will keep you guessing that's filled with spice scenes, sassy women, and alpha males, I highly recommend The Hart Brothers Series. Thank you Ms. Cooper for gifting me an e-ARC of this book. I absolutely loved it, and I can't wait to read more of your work. This was my honest opinion.

This is the continuation story of Savanah and Wade from To Whom It May Concern.  While Wade is gone, Savanah's best friend Lucy, comes to visit.  The more the two dig and research the darker Wade's secrets seem to get.  Wade seems to care about Savanah more than just his assistant but he cannot seem to confide in her. Savanah is hearing rumors from different people around town and from Wade's mother. She doesn't know what to believe. Wade seems to be pushing Savanah away on purpose but then does something really sweet and he clearly doesn't want her to go. Can she find peace about the whole situation or will she run back to NYC with Lucy?

This book is my favorite of the two!! It is still steamy and short. This book has twists and turns that were never expected. I like Wade's character. He is a darker character than some but he is broody and handsome and he can be really sweet. In the end, we get to see why Wade is so secretive. Savanah is still her independent and courageous self and I love that she doesn't give up until she knows the truth.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and Bookfunnel.  I am voluntarily leaving a review which is my opinion alone.
