As a Royal Protector, I can’t resist a damsel in distress...

Being an official bodyguard to the royal family of Limaj, isn’t just my job, it’s who I am. With lives depending on me, love isn’t on my duty roster.

Until I’m called in to protect a civilian. Smart, sexy and way too naïve for her own good... Solange is making me want things I shouldn’t.

When we’re together, I’m consumed. And now that I have her, there’s no going back.

Getting lost in her blue eyes could lead me down a dangerous path... but I’m prepared to protect what’s mine.

With a new enemy in Limaj and traitor among us... both our lives are at stake.

The problem is my loyalty. I’ve sworn an oath to defend the royal family at all costs.

What if the cost is her?

The goal when I found out this book was coming up was to have the first two books in the series read before it landed on my kindle because I am officially a Kat Mizera word junkie! I just cannot read fast enough! *cries* But I digress …

Kat Mizera has a superpower! This woman’s imagination holds no bounds. Her storylines are creative and fresh. Her characters are from all walks of life with colorful backgrounds that blend well. She creates all of this! She unfolds a story without a hitch and gives us enough intrigue mixed with romance to keep it spicy and captivating from beginning to end. She did all of this with Axel!! I was so ridiculously enthralled by the story that when the ending was near, I wanted to cry! The level of chemistry and passion was scorching between these two. They were sexy and intense when they were together, and it solidified how much they belonged together.

I loved this story and I love this author … do with that info what you will :)

When Solange calls Xander for help, it brings Axel into her life. Axel is also a Royal Protector, as alpha and take charge as can be, but with a kind and gentle soul inside. He's been watching Solange for awhile now while on assignment, but he never imagined he'd actually get the chance to know her, to have her in an intimate way in his life. But the time will soon come when he has to choose: his vow of loyal protection to his country and king, or his newfound love. Which will he choose? Can he find a way to have both?

I really liked the contrast of Axel's big, burly appearance vs his gentle heart, even as he claimed to have darkness inside him. Solange too was a great heroine, perfect for her big bodyguard - an innocent who taught herself technology and computers, and worked tirelessly for her family. The series has been hit or miss with me so far, but Axel is definitely a hit in my book.

Solange helped Royal Protector Xander when he needed it and now she needs help. Her family and their business is under attack. He sends Axel to help and an unlikely bond happens. Axel is in his 30s, an experienced soldier and strong. Solingen is in her early 20s, niave and has never gone far from the small town she was born in.
He is assigned to protect her while the attack on her family is looked into as a local gang is connected but it could be much bigger and a risk to the country. The more time they spend together, the more he wants her.
If it came to choosing between her or his job, the choice is no longer so simple.

Another fab read with hot royal protectors. Solange is a brilliant character showing that even being in a small isolated town doesn't always have to hold you back

Axel is a fabulous addition to the Royal Protectors series. I loved every moment of this one and could not put this one down at all. Axel is a member of the Royal Protectors and hasn't really been looking to fall. Solange is scrappy, sweet, smart and just trying to save her town and family from being overtaken by a gang who want to take over the country. Axel steps up to help and then the roller coaster that is Axel and Solange really starts going. There is so much chemistry between them that the pages will ignite on fire. I love how Solange is just welcomed by the royals and wants to do what she can to help. You will be glued to the pages as the drama and danger that follows begin. I could not get enough of Axel and Solange's connection. All I have to say is enjoy the ride.

It took me a bit to remember who Solange was, but when I did I loved that she was back in play. I loved how her one good deed brought so much help for her family and boy did they and the region need help and have issues that King Erik needed to know.

It was fun to see Solange at the castle and seeing how things were ran, it felt like her eyes were wipe open most of the time. She really fit in great with the others and helped when needed. But what I really loved was that this time gave her the opportunity for more that she ever imagined. Axel starting something with her was the bonus!

I hated how twisted things got towards the end, hated that everything that Solange loved was almost taken away. It was nice to see things resolved in a good way for them all.

Axel is part of the security detail with the royal family who is tasked with a special assignment from the King as he is tasked with protecting Solange, her family and their business which is being threatened.

Solange and her family own the café and doesn’t know where else to turn except to the King. They are attracted to each other in a way that neither expected but will Axel have to chose between his loyalty to the royal family and his love for Solange?

Intrigue, steam and twists as two people who couldn’t lead more diverse lives realize that the most important thing is their love for each other.

Am always amazed at the versatility of Kat Mizera. She can hypnotize with romance. Intrigue with danger. Or turn emotions into a blubbering mess with heartwarming. Axel is a combination of the best she has to offer. Solange and Axel take the heart on an adventure filled with surprising twists and never ending action that will leave readers spellbound. Dangerous love proves to be an addictive concept at the hands of a master of romance.

I loved this book! Axel and Solange make an awesome couple! Their chemistry was explosive and their attraction was immediate! They’re meant to be together. The story was an emotional roller coaster ride of danger, drama, suspense, intrigue and twists and turns that keep you reading! Axel and Solange go through a lot but come out together. I can’t decide if this is a 3.5 or a 4. SoLange and Axel are a surprising but wonderful couple, virgin and age gap are not my cup of tea but when they are just a part of the story as opposed to the story itself it was very fitting for this couple. Whilst sobbing I didn’t think what was broken could be fixed but somehow the author got us there. I’m really sad to leave Limaj, not sure I care enough about hockey in comparison. Maybe I’ll skip to Anton’s book just to get a glimpse back in

Axel is the perfect addition to the Royal Protectors series!! Axle and Solange are on opposite ends of the spectrum as far as their privilege in life, background and growing up but they are inexplicably drawn to each other. The chemistry, this pull between them is like magnets. The combination of danger and suspense is well-balanced. I can’t wait for more of this series!!!

Axel and Solange are way complicated. There’s a lot of back and forth. I found it really hard to like each of them at different points in the story. There were a few parts that made me cry and a few that made me angry. Action, suspense and drama.

I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 3 in the series but its more a thriller/adventure than romance and yet I come to the author for romance. So while I did enjoy the book, it didn't give me all the feels that I typically want in a romance.

That said it was a wonderful story and I am really impressed with the author imagination and writing in this story. But if you want romance, this is not the book for that. If you want a really amazing adventure then you will adore this story.

This story takes place mostly in Limaj and various other cities around Limaj. We get a lot of Eric, Xander, Sander time too, and some of their women. We also learn more about the school that is being constructed.

This story begins when Solange, our 24 year old heroine, is hiding in a closet and calls Xander for help. Her brother and parents are being beat up and she thinks they might be dead. And so Xander sends her help in the way of Axel.

I really loved Solange a lot. She is one tough woman and she loves her family so much that she has given up her future by staying in Limaj and helping her parents in their cafe. Even after she is rescued, she doesn't abandone them.

That said I kinda hated her family. They treat her terribly. Her parents and brother are real pieces of work and so I kinda hated them. Axel and his friends are her savior and they really try to help her.

A lot of things happen in this story and it was a really fun adventure and so I am trying not to spoil it. It takes place in this make believe world the author created and I really enjoyed the story, but for readers you should know its more of an adventure with good guys and bad guys and some violence but I loved how the author concluded the story.

Hoping for a miracle when her family is under attack, Solange calls the Royal Protector she helped to save. Hours from the small town, Xander sends Axel to the rescue. From the moment they meet, they have an instant connection. Sparks fly. They come from extremely different worlds. And even though they know it can’t possibly go anywhere, they begin a relationship as Solange begins finding her way to a new life outside of her small impoverished village and Axel opens himself to the potential of something he never thought he would have . . . a wife!

But, the attack on Solange’s family and cafe is just the start of the havok the Bojovnik Brat are about to cause, as their mission is much more than collecting money from a small village. They are on a mission to stir up trouble in Limaj to overthrow the King, and Solange and her family find themselves caught in the middle of the intrigue and violence.

When betrayals abound that threaten the royal family and their protectors, who can really be trusted? And, Axel and Solange find themselves caught in battles of love vs duty and friendship vs trust as relationships are torn apart and lives are forever altered.

Axel was super emotional, but also full of action and suspense! I love that Axel, while a protector at heart, is really kind of dumb at relationships and women even though he has the best of intentions. And, I adored that Solange has way more skill, strength and courage than she gives herself credit for.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Royal Protectors series. I was left with one niggle of want as the story of the Brat was not wrapped up . . . bu, I’m hoping that means more books are coming in the series! 4.5 Stars.

Axel is another great book in the Royal Protectors series by Kat Mizera. Axel is a bodyguard to the royal family of Limaj. Axel is called to go help a civilian, Solange, when she calls Xander begging for help when a gang of men come to her family's restaurant. The gang tear the restaurant apart and beat her brother within an inch of his life. Solange has lived her whole life working in her family's restaurant, but Solange dreams of escaping her small town existence. I found it very hard to like Solange, her brother, or her parents. I felt they were all selfish in their own ways and could never see any perspective but their own. Axel and Solange do have great chemistry together. Love how the Royal family and Royal Protectors welcomed Solange into their fold. What happens when a Royal Protector is killed? What will Solange do when she is suspected of treason? What will Axel do to prove to Solange she is the most important person to him? Will Solange be able to forgive Axel for distancing himself from her? Kat Mizera is an amazing author who never disappoints. Axel is a great book that will keep the reader on the edge of their seats. I love getting to see the other characters from previous books interact with Solange and Axel as they are falling in love. I would definitely recommend getting Axel and the other books in the Royal Protectors series by Kat Mizera. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.

Another royal protector has officially fallen; in love that is. Axel and Solange officially meet after she calls Xander for help. They never intended on falling for each other. But life had other plans.

I honestly enjoyed getting to know Axel. He was rough and claimed to have darkness inside of him. But his chapters were always refreshing. He was kind and considerate. He was also overprotective and didn't always think before he spoke.

I had a harder time loving Solange. By the end of the book I liked her more. But she never crossed the book threshold of fictional love. She went from a hardworking, innocent and naive upbringing to being surrounded by opportunities never available to her. She was stubborn and full of anger (some of that anger I could understand). However what bothered me the most about her was that even though she was always there to help, she never really thought about anyone but herself. She never thought to see things from a different perspective. So as much as I tried to love her I just had a harder time compared to Axel.

In all this was a good book. We get to catch up with some of our favorite characters and see how the country of Limaji is improving, even with its set backs. Hopefully sometime in the future we can see that country happily thriving. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

The saga continues!

And keeps getting better with this third installment in Kat Mizera’s Royal Protectors. In this book, the storyline centers around Royal Protector Axel, who is an official bodyguard to the royal family of Limaj and Limaj native Solange. When they first meet Axel comes to Solange’s and her family’s rescue who are being threaten and attacked by local criminal element known as the Brat. Although Axel is ex-military and has seen all that the world has thrown his way, there is something about Solange – her innocence, her fearlessness, her loyalty even when it gets tested, that makes Axel reconsider many things in his life and that maybe it is time to let someone in. But when her actions are questioned, his love for her gets questioned as well and things might not be the same again for either of them.
Throughout this turbulent period for both of them, their smoldering attraction constantly sizzles. This is a delightful and endearing page turner. It was also amazing how Kat continues to interweave characters from her other books and series into the storyline. A truly great read, filled with amazingly fun characters, sexy and sweet dialogue, and sizzling heat as Axel and Solange find their path to love and each other. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!

Kat Mizera keeps creating wonderful characters with interesting backgrounds, leading to very interesting relationships. Meeting Axel was even more fun because he seemed different from the other leading men, and Solange was also different from the previous heroines.

Axel has been in the area of the tiny village where Solange lives with her parents and brother, where they own a small café. Although he has seen Solange as he gets his morning coffee they haven’t met. When the family is attacked and their café trashed, Axel comes to the rescue. This time, the enemy is a gang from neighboring Turkey who have been collecting “taxes” from businesses in the rural north of the country.

I liked Solange; even without much formal education she taught herself to use computers, the Internet and even learned coding. Axel is such a sweet man hiding in a huge, muscled, dangerous looking body. And we still get the major characters from the previous books, the royals and the royal protectors.

I’m really looking forward to when they are finally able to open the school Princess Elen has been working on and trying to guess who the next couple will be.

I received an ARC of Axel and this is my honest review.

This is the third part of the Royal Protector series and here Axel finds his great love in Solange. A young woman, high from the north. Personally I didn't really warm up to her, too often she indulged in self-pity or blamed the welfare of other people to justify her own decisions. The ego perspective probably made this character so difficult to love. She is a lovable type no question and of course she hasn't experienced anything in her meager life up north and now she tries to enjoy. However, the ego-perspective makes everything sound either self-pitying, selfish or well... immature. She is, due to her lifestyle, but towards the end her actions reconcile me, even if it takes a long time until she makes the right decisions.
Axel is a real sweetheart. Even though he has already experienced a lot during his dutys, there are almost exclusively sunny spots in his heart. The writing style is great, very soulful, vivid and emotional. I love this royal family, they all have a place in my heart and it is always nice to meet them again in every new book.
I also liked the speed of the narration, which was quite high due to the repeated attacks on the country and the royal family. That made this book really exciting.

5 Stars for Axel and Solange!

Whoa, straight from the gate, author Kat Mizera hit the ground running with high octane action, and kept up the impetus throughout the whole book. How happy am I that I found her when she first started this series of books, starting with her Royal Trilogy because that, and these Royal Protectors are freaking awesome to read!!!! They’re sexy, somewhat steamy and all action romantic suspense reads, with amazing chemistry between the main characters.

Each book in the Royal Protector series is a stand-a-lone, but the characters are recurring. You won’t get lost, but it’s pretty awesome to have the inside skinny on the other characters that are referenced to, or appear in each book as secondary characters. Hell, I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to read the earlier books! Seriously, do yourself a favour and go and get them. I recommend starting with the Royal Trilogy. You’re lucky, it’s already out, so your heart won’t be broken waiting for the next book.

Axel and Solange are amazing together in this age-gap romance and as always, Ms Mizera writes chemistry that is impassioned, damn near a palpable character in itself. Add the Bojovnik Brat to this and the plot takes a twist into new territory as these guys have became Northern Limaj’s self-appointed answer to the mafia.

Simply put, this book is amazing and another one of her books that I highly recommend. 5 Stars for Kat Mizera’s latest instalment in her Royal Protector series. Yep.

So many feelings! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read

Axel is the quiet broody Royal Protector with the biggest heart of them all. I am always amazed with the words coming from Kat Mizera, she is so versatile. She goes from Hockey to Rockstar to a wonderfully thought out Security series. The lingering back story has you in the edge of your seat, and I’m sure we are not done with the brat yet. I can’t wait till she takes them down.

Solange is this beautiful, reserved and sheltered woman who had met the one. She is thrown into a life she has never experienced but shows she can hold her own.

Solange and Axel make the most adorable couple and their chemistry is off the charts. They face a lot of challenges that directly effect them as a couple and theirselves personally.

I loved this story so much as we get to catch up with everyone.... and I must say I’m always infatuated with King Erik... yummy! If you have not read his story yet you must! It was my top favorite series from 2019. Here is my review of book one: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

4 1/2 STARS!

A touch of temptation is all it takes! With the next dip into her sexy Royal Protectors world Kat Mizera delights her readers with another alpha male meets spitfire damsel connection with AXEL. The danger is high during most of the book, the characters are well developed and the connection between them has us turning page after page to see what will happen. I'm enjoying this series a lot and looking forward to more.

Axel is an attention grabbing character. He's hard and controlled when a mission calls for it, and kind and gentle with his friends and work family. He never expected to find love, and in all honesty didn't want it ... but she's hard to resist!

Solange is sweet yet feisty and isn't willing to settle for less than she wants in life if she can help it. She's let her parent's dreams hold her back, but she's always envisioned more ... and when terror strikes, she isn't going to sit back and let it win!

I highly recommend this story as well as the entire series to anyone who loves high octane suspense mixed with a bit of royalty and romance.

Kat never fails to please. I loved Axel's & Solange's story they meet when Solange is in trouble and rings Xander for help to save her and her family. Xander can't come to help and sends Axel in his place. Solange and Axel despite everything managed to fall in love despite Axel's demanding job as a protector to the Royal Family. When Axel and the Protectors find out the Brat are behind everything going on in Solange's village they set out to help the villagers and stop the gang from neighboring Turkey. When a disaster happens Solange feels helpless and disappointed in events that follow. She understands why but is disappointed in the one person that should have her back doesn't.
I loved this read with lots of thrills, mystery, and some hot romance one had to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. I can't tell you too much more or it will spoil the story for you. Despite being Book Three in The Protectors Series this can be read as a stand-alone story. I received an arc to do an honest review for NN Book Blog.

Axel is book 3 of the Royal Protectors series by Kat Mizera. This is Axel and Solange's story. This book will tug at the heartstrings and take you on the rollercoaster ride of emotions. Axel has been handed a special assignment to guard/protect Solange, her family and their business which is being threatened by the
Bojovnik Brat. Axel and Solange had this intense chemistry and instant connection. Readers will be glued to the story, wanting to find out what's going to happen next with their story.
I loved the flow of the story; getting to see past characters make appearances in the story. I am going to say there are some things in the story with Axel and the Royals that didn't make sense and was a bit disappointing. Not sure what to think but the rest of the story was great. It was overall a good story with action, excitement, suspense, intrigue, passion, angst, drama, deep emotions and feels.

We get to meet Solange and her family in this story. Why are we meeting them? What do we learn about Solange, her family, and Vinake? Why have we had a small preview of them previously? Who does she call for help in the middle of the night one night? Why? What is the outcome of the call? Oh my, I like Mrs. Freela! She's fun! What is happening in Braksa and Vinake? Who are the Brat? What do we learn about what is going on? Why is it happening? Boy does this story give us some of every flavor in a romance story! We have suspense, threats, attempted murder, murder, protection, family, love, more threats, and some really happy times as well. So many unexpected twists in this story! I cried. Read and see why!

I love all things Kat Mizera--from her hockey stories to the royal family, she can take on any kind of story and make it great!

I have really enjoyed the Royal Protectors spin-off series and Axel's story is a great addition. From the first few pages, I knew that there was going to be some great chemistry between Axel and Solange. As with all of Kat's couples, there's always an intense fire that makes you swoon--seriously, she knows how to pair two people and builds an intriguing story around them. Axel was a true protector in every sense of the way and I loved this quality about him. An ideal hero throughout the entire story. Solange was a little different from Kat's normal heroines, but she was still a great companion for Axel.

I always enjoy catching up with the other characters that we've fallen in love with and it's what makes this series like one big family. I love where Kat has taken this group of protectors and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next.

Romantic thriller

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers
There are no grammatical or editorial errors that I can recall
So, it's never going to win any awards but it delivers what it promised in the blurb, an escape from reality for a little while.
Yeah the storyline is a bit stretched and the plot devices are pretty obvious, but it does provide a good read. The characterisation isn't fabulous, but then it doesn't need to be, it just needs to be enough to allow you to continue to read on.
There is some swearing and some sex scenes, nothing overwhelming and confined to appropriate paragraphs (as opposed to books where sex is the main plot device, set in every chapter for a minimum of three pages)
I think I've reached my limit with this author, should any more in this series be released I may purchase, but I don't have the author in my favourites and that's not going to change.
