After ten years together they're having the most perfect wedding, ever... Lauren always knew that Leeward was 'The One' and can't wait to be his wife. The slimmest and blondest she's ever been in her whole life; Lauren has a dress to die for and she is most definitely not a bridezilla.
But will the big day turn into a wedding to remember for all the wrong reasons? Will the internet ever forget Lauren's rendition of I Will Survive?Join Lauren on her journey to move on, even if it does mean taking advice from her stroppy sister and her opinionated, matchmaking great-grandmother - or Leeward's gorgeous brother who's offering her a shoulder to cry on and just can't seem to stay away.
Will Lauren stick to her mantra of sooo not looking for a man? Will she ever trust another man again?
If you're a fan of Sophie Kinsella, Jill Mansell or Sophie Ranald, don't miss Lauren's witty, heart-warming and poignant, feel-good journey.
CJ Morrow writes the kind of fiction she likes to read and since her taste is varied so are her books. She loves a romcom with a guaranteed happy ending, equally she loves a psychological thriller especially where the ending is a plausible shocker.
When she doesn't like what's going on in the world, she writes another one.
Word weaver, lover of things curious, unseen and unexplainable, general wordy person. Always watching and laughing, mostly at herself.
UPDATE: The new ending is much better, so I have amended my rating / review accordingly! I like to tie up loose ends and this does it nicely! Thank you! . I really loved this book, but hated the ending with a passion. I went to turn the page at the ending for the next chapter, it was that bad!! 😪 Until then, the book was ‘unputdownable’!
An unusual storyline that is completely unpredictable and unputdownable. Loved all of the characters who were 'real' and leapt right off the page. Very funny and true to life - I loved Lauren and Cat and Grimmy was an absolute joy and I'm sure a book is just waiting to be written about her colourful life. A well written book that I raced through in a couple of days; I totally recommend it.
I love this author and am always in the lookout for when she had another book. Amazing that she is an indie author. I read A LOT (over 15 books a month) and she never disappoints.
Brace yourselves. By reading this book, you are setting yourself up for such a treat. I wish I could give you the details, but other than ruining your read, they are just too delicious to divulge. Lauren has set herself in a rather scary path and who knows whether she'll come out of it okay. One can always hope. 😊
After discovering this author of this week I’ve devoured multiple of their books! This one was by far my favourite I love how the author focuses not only on the romance aspect but the empowering independence and support systems surrounding the main character.
I fell in love with this book as soon as I began reading! So difficult to put down and i loved all the characters! Beautifully written. Too bad there is no sequel!
Can’t even explain how i had to let this book sit because i didn’t want it to come to an end even tho i was so excited to see it all work out for Lauren. Great read!
This book was a really easy read and sometimes that's just what I'm looking for. Funny and feel- good with a happy ending. Lately life is just too grim for anything else.
Completed this in a day❤️ An amazing read which is funny, happy and sad. It takes you through all emotions.. A book which shows to expect the unexpected and how family always stands with you. Loved it..
Safe to say it was an enjoyable book, however I was a little disappointed at the ending and the person she ended up with. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm all for a happy ending however I was a little eh about who she ended up with and thought that maybe the character development and connection could have been developed further between the two of them.
However, I do have to admit it was very true to life, and that all the characters were real in a sense that they could relate to real life. The book centre around Lauren after discovering her fiancé had cheated on her the day of her wedding while on the way in the car to the church. Of course, all chaos breaks loose when she reveals his text messages when at the alter, and a few more chaotic scenes unfold. However, despite the hurt and betrayal, the book is the redemption of her self preservation and character.
It was interesting to see how she interacted with family members and other who were there to comfort her. With her opinionated grandmother who'd comment on everything, to her strong headed and willed sister who had already basically sorted her life out., to Leeward's brother who comforts her after being cheated on.
I did thoroughly enjoy the crude humour presented, and the storyline that was presented. I did feel like the beginning was dragged out, but then towards the end when she meets 'spiceman' at the park it starts picking up at a too fast pace. However in saying that CJ Morrow has written this book beautifully, it just wasn't my style of writing that I stuck with.
This was the first CJ Morrow book I have read, and it was a Prime read from Amazon.
The story of Lauren, Leeward and the wedding was a car crash of a story in the beginning, and was an entertaining read. I am lucky enough not to know anyone who has gone through even a shadow of these events, but it was an entertaining read. The following story of Ken, Alfie and Phillip was also heartwarming, although I don't think I could be as forgiving, no matter how dishy the protagonists are!
A quick read, entertaining and light despite some of the subject matter covered.
This ended nicely. The story, that is. It took me around nine chapters to really get into this book, BUT when the bombs dropped they dropped!!!! I really liked how the story turned out for those who had it the hardest. This was a feel good book in the end. There were some pauses and stutters along the way but I appreciate the drama, heaviness and heartfelt moments that were well written into this novel.
This was a fun book, good characters, some plot twists that I honestly didn't see coming, and all in all good writing The downfall was there were some parts, Ken, that should have been cut shorter, and there was a lot of "writing the characters name" I counted 5 times on one page where a characters name was written, seemed excessive. The ending was nice, but very abrupt, it could have been thought a little more. All in all, it was a nice fun read.

Without giving too much away, at 27% I figured out what was going on with the main relationship. At 47% my thoughts were confirmed. The book was just okay. Normally I read a novel in one sitting, this one took me 6-days, but I did finish it.
