you know my friend recommended me this book and i didn’t think i would like it as much as i did! it was absolutely fantastic, i learned so so much through reading this! i just want to thank my good friend for recommending this to me :)
book was recommended by a coworker and I was surprised at how easy of read it was! very detailed and thought out! would recommend, but not for the plot just the experience.
It is what it is. A necessary tool for diagnosing and developing strategies for treatment. I believe that this should be used like a dictionary and not a treatment manual. At its worst, it can be used to imprison clients in rigid categories. At its best, it allows clinicians to have a base to jump from when imaginatively engineering interventions for growth and health.
Great reference book to the full Manual, but lacks some very important information that the full manual contains. I recommend the spiral bound version ad please realize this is NOT an in depth manual for each DO.
Desk Reference to the Diagnostic Criteria from DSM-5TM by the American Psychiatric Association. This is a reference book but I bought it to read for fun. I enjoy reading many textbooks for fun because they are well structured and consistent. You can read them without pressure the good part is there’s no exam, so no stress! I want to learn about mental disorders and this book serves me well. Some disorders are very close to others but are not the same. You may need to use Google and complementary resources alongside this book.
This is the small pocket size version of the DSM-5 which just gives the basic diagnostic criteria and the basic ICD-10 codes. It's useful for filling out forms.
