But the orcs who saved her village want payment for their services
And they’ve decided to take her as their bride
Taryn’s life is turned upside down when trolls attack her village. With her crippled leg that never healed right running isn’t an option. So she hides, and prays, and fears that her end is near… but then the orcs come.
Her village is saved, but the band of orc warriors want payment, and their price is a bride. A fertile young woman to marry one of their warriors and bear their clan many orclings.
The orc who saves her is tall, scarred, and rugged. He swings an axe as easily as he attends his patients. As the orc’s healer, Gedu is determined to set Taryn’s crippled leg. As a warrior, he’s determined to prove his fitness as her potential husband.
He’ll fight in the bride battle, and prove his worth, because he wants Taryn's heart, and a baby.

Traded to the Orc is the second book in the Orc Brides series. It is a 20k long novella featuring steamy scenes of fantastical romance with consenting, no-abuse, light BDSM with a dominant orc hero. All Orc Brides books can be read as stand-alones.
Tara lives in New York with her wife, stepson, and a small horde of furry beings who continuously try to trip her down the stairs at two o'clock in the morning.
When she's not stepping around and over two dogs and two cats she can be found drinking iced tea (because you can leave the south but the south never leaves you) while drawing, reading, and writing about naughty aliens and monsters.
Her love affair with monsters all started with Beauty and the Beast (in all types of media) and Hellboy, because who doesn't love an intergalactic demonic Prince of doom and a scientifically altered fish husband?
With over a decade of experience in the BDSM community she considers herself something of a connoisseur of shibari knots and edge play. She loves all things that go bump in the night.

Heroine is a prostitute. Which was totally unnecessary and unpleasant and considering this is set in a place where modern medicine hasn’t reached, the blasé attitude towards the inescapable threat of catching a disease from random gross men rutting inside her body just wasn’t a concern. Sex means nothing and is no big deal, doesn’t carry any psychological power or physical consequences. It’s just like scratching ones ass. Which, as the daughter of a literal crack whore—in the modern age with access to condoms and medicine—I know up close and personal how actually FILTHY, disease-ridden and sickening, to the mind, body and soul, that world is, how putrid, evil and soul-destroying those acts are—not just to the women who commit them but to the children they expose to that rotting corruption. Sex isn’t meaningless and to treat it as if it is only destroys a part of a woman’s soul, which I watched happen throughout my childhood and teens to women in my family and in the ugly, grotesque world I grew up in. So this blasé acceptance of death and depravity isn’t something I can just laugh off.
And at the same time we’re supposed to believe the hero was possessive over the heroine but he just shrugs and doesn’t care that other men have rutted between her legs and claimed what he will NEVER have: the vulnerability and trust and innocence and awakening that comes from being sexually initiated. THAT bond and connection went to some loser.
TRADED TO THE ORC follows a similar theme as the first book and was just as sexy. When orcs save Taryn's village from a troll attack, they insist the village give them a woman as payment. Before she can protest, Taryn as the town "cripple" is chosen and given to the orcs. I enjoyed Taryn's spirit and bravery in the face of everything she's gone through in life. A childhood injury that never healed well has left her with chronic pain and a limp and she's been alone, barely scraping by for years. She doesn't expect Gedu to treat her with respect, kindness, and a gentle touch as he works to reset her leg and heal her pain.
I enjoyed getting to know more about the orcs and see more of their city. I also liked the addition of some rope bondage and when these two finally slept together it was very spicy. I do wish we had Gedu's POV in this one; he's so quiet and stoic that it's sometimes hard to read what he's feeling and thinking, but otherwise this was an enjoyable read.
Content Warning: breeding kink, chronic pain from an injured leg; references to prostitution as a means of survival
So I kind of liked this. The story was good but should have been longer. I also liked the two main characters and think they did had some good chemistry BUT everything went just too fast. It’s like with the first book in the series. The two would have needed more time to make all this feel more valid. I mean there is this point where she is like „I chose him“ and yes she did but she didn’t knew any other orcs so there hasn’t been much to choose from. Also after just one day she already trusts him to practice bondage on her. WTH. I did like their sec scene in the end but it would have made much more sense if they had a little bit of a past together. I don’t mean years but maybe at least a few weeks and not just one day. Overall I liked this but just wish the author would have giving their relationship much more time to actually form and evolve into this beautiful being together.
Taryn is saved by Gedu from a Troll. When the Orcs demand a woman in payment for saving her town, the townsfolk turn on the cripple Gedu still carries in his arms. When Gedu, the orcs healer, gets her back he sets out to fix her leg and she discovers something naughty about herself.
My favourite part of this book was the fight scene, when it's revealed... well, really you should read it and find out for yourself! I thought this book was better than the first, and I loved the first! I hope to see more of this world. These Orcs are sexy!!!
I enjoyed this one. Loved seeing the disability rep and the spice was good. My only real issue is that there was a lot of time spent on "fixing" the main characters disability/injury. While in real life i would be so happy for her that there is a "cure" for her problem...I don't really like that theme on the story...it gives me mixed feelings. I love the caretaking aspect of it...but it's a thin line between being taken care of and people treating you like you are broken or that you have to be fixed to be worth anything. That's likely just me projecting...but I just didn't like the way the story made me feel like she was going to be totally fine and no longer disabled now that she got the treatment she should have gotten way back when the injury first happened...and the amount of the story spent on this whole "fixing" concept. Still 4 stars though and really enjoyed it...just that one gripe that keeps it from being 5 stars for me.
3.00 Stars. (WW/ Green male alien). Kindle Unlimited Edition 57 page novella. In this installation of Orc Brides, a band of Orc warriors save the residents of a human village being over run during a Troll attack. As payment for their salvation, the Orcs are given the town's crippled prostitute, Daryn. Gedu, the Orc healer, warrior and story's hero, personally rescues Daryn during the village attack and the two form a bond of sorts...she rides with him to the Orc compound and he medically treats her injures and crippled leg. Orc traded requires the warriors saving the village to fight for the intended bride unless she choses one. Daryn chooses Gedu and they proceed to consummate the marriage. Although this story is well written, it is dissident making it hard to connect with Gedu and Daryn as a romantic couple.
I enjoyed this for what it was – a short and simple monster romance. I'm glad that we're seeing more traditional fantasy races stepping into the roles of romantic heroes rather than the typical shapeshifters or aliens. Orc warriors are an especially intriguing bunch, and I hope the author explores more of their culture in future stories. There are some occasionally misplaced words like "she" instead of "he", and the story ends quite abruptly. It would benefit from a couple of extra pages but, luckily, there is some sense of closure.
I like how author develops the orc’s character into a kind and gentle healer; plus how she describes the beauty of where the orc lives and his home. She paints an all around enchanting story for so short a book. The steamy sex scenes are smoking hot! I missed her including an epilogue like she did in the first book; but still an excellent read especially if you love World of Warcraft or Lord of the Rings.
I really enjoyed reading this story. It was well written, creatively descriptive, and a lot of fun to read. I enjoyed the part in the beginning, where he first stopped to help her. He was more kind to her than those of her own village. I was waiting for her to choose him, and was totally stoked that she did, and it made me smile. Anxiously awaiting for the next book.
I loved the relationship between Taryn and Gedu. They seemed perfectly matched. I personally didn’t think the rope bondage scene fit Gedu’s healer personality but it was done in a good way. I would like to see less grammatical errors in future books as mixed up words halt the flow of reading. Still excited to read the next in the series though.
Ugh, as soon as the relationship and story of these two started it ended. Like ended ENDED and I was so upset. As soon as this amazing story start ed and I was left with a "what the carp". I loved this story a lot. Gedu is the strong silent type who is uber sweet. I could read these stories for a while and never get bored.
3.5 Stars This story was sooooo much better than the first one. I really liked the first 3/4 of the story. The last 1/4 was to crass even for me but then it got good again. Interesting that there was a taste of BDSM.
I just love the world Tara has created, I almost feel as if I am walking through the underground village with the Orcs. This is the second book of hers I have read and I can’t wait to find the others! A must read.
I really enjoyed this story! The author's descriptions of the characters and their world are fascinating and I would have loved if the story had been longer so we could explore their world further. I'm already hooked on her writing and looking forward to reading more.
I absolutely loved Gedu. He was smart, gentle, caring, but he also had a fierceness to him. And he loved Taryn from the moment he saw her. This has been a wonderful series thus far. I hope there's more coming.
Short , hot & Steamy are the 3 best words to describe this book . so if you have a few minutes to sit back and relax I recommend this book . I wish the author would lengthen the book and have a more community interaction especially with previous couples.
This was a short, hot, juicy read! I loved it! Gedu was not what was expected being a Orc. He was gentle and patient and won his brides heart! I was very happy about the HEA because I hate cliffhangers and drama but this was sweet!
This is a great series. Imaginative, with a true conflict driving the stories. Almost sweet, but the spicey kind that makes you want seconds, and thirds... Glad I read these and I’ll be looking for more.
I'm loving this series! What a fantastic new take on Orc and human claiming! These stories are connected by a theme but stand alone pretty well too. I fell in love at the beginning action scene then it just steadily got better. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author!
Taryn has a twisted leg that goes out during a troll attack. Luckily, Gedu, the medic ax-wielding orc, saves her along with his crew. The village is saved but at q price. They want a bride, and the town gives them her. I enjoyed this quick steamy read!
4.5 stars. I’m taking a bit off because of grammatical errors and I wish it was a tad bit longer. BUT! I loved it. Super sweet and spicy. I didn’t know I had a thing for orcs..I will be reading more of this series.
4 Stars Even though it felt shorter than the first one, I enjoyed this even more. We got more glimpses of their society and the romance was cute. I would recommend everyone to read all three to get a better understanding of their "world"
It was a cute, quick read that was able to scratch the itch. I wish there was a bit more after the relationship was established, but otherwise it was a cute read.
