Just when Makani gets the strength to leave Reed and everything tied to him behind, her whole world comes crashing down around her. It’s over her dead body that he will allow her to leave, and he’s determined to send her to the grave before he allows her to love another. Surviving a near fatal accident, Makani refuses to let the chaos win. She does her best to salvage the pieces that remain and move on from Reed, diving head-first into Gio’s world. He’s awakened a fire in her, and there’s no way she can go back to the life she knew before, but will she be forced to go back when Gio’s deepest, darkest secrets are revealed? Standing on the porch of a woman who he claimed he only wanted to spend a few days with, Gio realizes that, like Makani, he cares more than he wants to admit. Gio knows that in order to have Makani in his world, he has to reveal that he’s married with no plans to divorce his wife—that is, until he finds out his wife, Piper, has no plans of changing her ways, and that her newest flame will die trying to see Gio pay for the crimes he committed when he was younger. Because Gio still loves her and wants the best for her, he presents her with an ultimatum that she shouldn’t resist. Still reeling from Gio’s ultimatum, Piper finds herself questioning everything in her life, including the life she once thought was so secure with the man she loves. Knowing Gio isn’t a man who believes second chances, she’s prepared to chase him to the ends of the earth before she lets another woman lay claim to his heart. Still a slave to her newest addiction, Piper doesn’t realize she’s been pillow-talking with the enemy until it’s too late. Will Piper choose a new life, or will she die trying to reveal to the world who her husband truly is?
Whew chile!!! What a ride… this was the perfect wrap up to the series I loved everything Makani and Gio they were perfect together… Jenn and Aspen was ride or die and I loved that for Makani because they truly were her circle. Saylor and Reed definitely got off too easy and that damn Piper went out bad but anyways. I loved this series from begging to end and I hope we get to peek back in on the Mancini’s
Bay-be Queen Miss J kept me on the edge of my seat in this second installment. There were so many OMG😳 moments, WTF moments🤔, Bih you lying moments and most importantly a whole lot of Awww😍 moments.
I gotta agree with the rest of the reviews I read, Reed mitch ass and Raylor backstabbing hoe ass got off too motherfudgesicklestix easy🙄😒😤😡. Like I ain't gonna lie I wanted Gio to make them suffer for all the years of pain and suffering they caused Kani Baby. For getting her jumped and causing her to loose her baby. For almost killing her, for just being a POS. Like he really was big mad she used her own money to relaunch her business instead of depending on him, then she pulled a him on him but leveled up on his ass, while he just downgraded every time😒.
I'm proud of Blair, to bye she made the most progress🙌🏾. I really feel like once she found out Reed tried to kill Makani and CPS took the twins cause that stupid motherfudgesicklestix left them in the house alone after him and his slut bucket went on the run, did something to her. That somehow made her snap out of whatever spell he had her under cause the way she cursed him out🤣. It made her appreciate Makani too. I'm glad she kept her word about getting her life together so that she can get the twins back.
I was rooting for Piper and she disappointed me in the worst way😤. She was given multiple chances to get it together and change the narrative😔 Like she knew the consequences was for speaking on the family business. Knew that ninja Eric/Sergio got her hooked on that ish on some get back at her husband ish for his sister that made y'all life a living hell and almost got Gio sent to jail for crimes he didn't commit and she still kept effing with that psycho😔. Still kept putting that ish in your body, let that ninja hype you up to think you'd actually get away with it.
Being introduced to her dad and hearing how he degraded and thought so little of his daughter😡. No wonder she ended up with a f'boy like Reed. Gio shut his ass up when he offered to pay him back that tuition money and checked his ass on how he was taking about Kani. Her mom wasn't any better cause she allowed that bs, so it made since that Kani was so damn passive.
Kani Baby bossed up on all they ass! When she left work and Reed was outside and pulled that gun on her, I started praying she gets an opportunity to get away. Finding Saylor in her house with her babies😳, but when she snatched that phone and ran and locked herself in the bathroom🤣. After she survived that near death experience sis say she's living life to the fullest and ain't taking no shorts in any aspects of her life. At times she really did irk my nerves, I wanted to shake some common since into her ass.
Master Gio with his bossy BDE ass😜. That man spent a couple of nights with Kani Baby and was stuck. He straight list his mind after she ghosted him, then blocked him on all platforms. When that man showed up at her house😳 at the end of book 1 I was screaming🤣. I'm Like biiihhh, he whole came for you and wasn't taking no for an answer. Like he got a taste and was like I'm risking it all for Kani Baby😜🤣.
Their journey to their HEA was crazy asf and I enjoyed every minute of it, even the parts I hated cause it made Kani Baby that much stronger💕
Gio was one who could make you bow down to practically anything until he found the one that made him bow down to her. Makani blossomed under his love and found her voice. She was literally born again. I won’t say much about Reed, Blair and Saylor but I will say the deserved worse. Piper, unfortunately, just spiraled out but I was rooting for her overall. She did love Gio. She just lost herself in his world and it was a world that just didn’t allow for mistakes. Great series, Miss J. Great series.
This author is amazing. I can never put her books down. I found myself reading at a birthday dinner. Reading on the treadmill just reading everywhere. Can’t wait for her next book.
Gio my man Gio!! It amazes me how a character can be all over the place and we give him the side eye, then BOOM we're in love. This was an amazing series and I need this author dive in some urban romance.
This was an enjoyable series. Gio and Makani both gave each other the happiness they needed to be fulfilled. The story moved well and held my interest. I’d recommend it.
I loved that Makani and Gio got their happy ending. Gio was everything to Makani that Reed wasn’t and she deserved to be happy with a man who truly loved her.
Awwww..... This was so not how I thought it was going to end, but it was perfect!!!
Man, this finale... I surely didn't want it to end at all. This was such not how it was going to go down but hell, it was the perfect finish. Makani was still a little bit childish and too naive but at the end she got the good-good and Gio and the whole nine yards. I personally didn't like that she readily agreed to continue with Fio when he clearly was still in love with Piper but I guess he could love 2 people at the same time. I felt like she was just settling and accepting. While Gio on the other end was taking her for granted and was selfish as hell (I mean he even said it). I didn't quite like Gio this time around, because I do feel like Makani had said "...this sounds so Reedish to her and she didn't want a repeat so she was not going to take it....good girl ~lol), but overall I felt really bad for Gio because at one point he really thought he was going to have his cake and eat it too, but it all worked out differently. Was so beautiful was how Gio just loved him some Makani however she looked, big, pudge, love handles, rolls, thickness and all but definitely not skinny. This the type of man and love one need to get... Now Karma you did your think specially with Sergio/Eric and Piper. Reed and Saylor did get it as well but I was hoping that Saylor got it bad and not as easy as she got. I like the fact that Blair grew up and got it together. I am especially happy to hear about Makani's parents as I was asking him about them as well as Piper's. This was really a wonderful story that I ended up reading both books in less than 24 hours (it's how good it was ~ lol)... I am going to stalk this site to get all of this author other books, because she has me hooked.... Can't say it enough, best BFF ever was Jen and Aspen and even Lexie and Brown. Reall a wonderful tight knit group. Mate to see them leave...
Miss J aka Endiya put everything into this book. All my emotions came out when reading part 2. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I was so rooting for Piper and I don’t understand why lol. I feel the whole mob mentality, loose lips sink ships, I just thought that her situation would be slightly different. Gio was rude AF to her throughout the entire series so honestly the path that she took shouldn’t have surprised him, but oddly it did. I think Horace knew who Piper was with but was trying to give her time to get right. I don’t fault Eric for trying to get justice for his sister. But what I don’t agree with is that he didn’t take into consideration that everyone around him was telling him you need to chill. Man had a whole family and just basically discarded them for a dead sister that he can’t get back. Kani Baby should have ran out that house once she saw Gio on the other side of the door. I know I would have gotten my permanent spinnanight bag and said deuces to Reed. Forget them kids in a heart beat. No I’m joking. But I love how dominant Gio was, but I wasn’t a fan of how after he told Kani all the obsessive things he did to keep tabs on her she still folded. Like girl! Where’s your backbone! She was weak for Gio yall. Saylor ain’t get the ending that I wanted for her but in a sense I’m glad it wasn’t what I was expecting, same for Reed. There was nothing left unsaid and every character got their ending. It was well written and I was definitely glued to every single page. Now we waiting for Jenn & Brown story! Right Endiya girl!? Because sis what was up with that energy!!
Talk about freaky. Gio was Dom, meaning Dominatrix. Makani was a 24year old young lady that was in a relationship with a guy 11 yrs her senor. Reed turned out to be verbally and physically abusie. While out with her girls, she came across Gio , who was smitten by her and wanted to make her his Sub. Long story short, a relationship was started and love bloomed. A lot went on before they really got their Happily Ever After. Just have to read Part 1 and Part 2 to find out. 👍🏿
gio was reed with a little more sense & a lot more money
Nice story line but reed and gio, to me, were one in the same as in my opinion he didn’t treat her any different regarding women and lying & she’s was a little ditzy to me…didn’t really see any progression in her character. Gio certainly gave her more ‘respect’ and better experiences but ehh he was not my cup of tea.
Part 2 of Bound by a Gangsta, continues in the same narrative style, focusing predominantly on telling the readers about the manufactured drama rather than showcasing an immersive storytelling. The characters, however, remain largely unlikable, making it difficult for readers to engage with their journeys. The drama unfolds primarily from self-inflicted wounds; characters orchestrate turmoil in their lives, which feels contrived and serves only to push the plot forward.
Gio, the character meant to serve as the protagonist, is unable to convincingly embody the alpha or dominant persona that the author ostensibly intends. Instead of projecting strength and authority, he often presents as overly soft, attempting to mask his inherent vulnerabilities under a façade of toughness that fails to resonate with the audience. Despite the author’s consistent assertions that Gio is a true gangsta, this characterization lacks the necessary depth and authenticity to make him believable or admirable.
Piper, Gio’s wife, is portrayed as foolish and lacking in intelligence, which further detracts from the narrative’s overall appeal. Her character exudes a naivety that makes her unrelatable and unsympathetic, resulting in a disconnect for readers who might expect a more nuanced portrayal of a partner in a turbulent relationship.
The jealousy exhibited by Reed towards Makani comes across as sudden and unfounded, feeling forced and unnecessary to the story’s progression. This emotional pivot lacks the groundwork needed for effective character development and appears to be more a plot device than a natural progression of the narrative.
In contrast, Makani does demonstrate some semblance of growth in her struggle with body insecurities; however, this evolution is troublingly tethered to Gio’s validation of her worth rather than stemming from her own journey of self-discovery. This reliance on a male character to define her worth diminishes the significance of her progress.
The author’s attempts to weave BDSM elements into the narrative fall disappointingly flat. The intimate scenes lack the vibrancy and passion that could elevate the story. Many of these moments fade to black, leaving readers with a sense of incompleteness, as characters merely recount their encounters rather than experiencing them vividly on the page. This absence of detail in the intimate scenes diminishes the impact they might have had on the overall narrative.
Ultimately, Bound by a Gangsta Part 2 fails to leave a lasting impression and can only be described as mediocre at best. The combination of shallow characterizations, lack of authentic emotional development, and unengaging storytelling renders it an unremarkable read.
This was a really good series... It definitely held my attention and had me not wanting to stop reading... This series pulled me into a world that I didnt know much about... My intrest is now peaked... I feel like I need a Gio in my life... There was lots of secrets and action and attention grabbing moments... I did feel like the end felt a little rushed to close out... But this storyline was really good... I will definitely be checking this author out... I can also say that I appreciate the fact that this book was not rushed to be put out because it show in the editing... There was not a lot of errors distracting me or pulling away from the storyline and this made the read that much more enjoyable... I absolutely love Gio... For a quick minute I thought I was gonna have to give up on him... But he quickly made things right and had me feeling him even more... He was always about handling his business... He had so many people looking up to him and he was a great leader... At first I was definitely looking at him and his assistant a little sideways with how close they were... But after a while I can see that their relationship was what you see... He had me feeling some type of way with how he was handling Makani... The way he was ignoring her and not talking to her when he was away... Instead of just letting her know hey give me some time and I will contact you... But nope he decided that she wasn't important enough so he left her stressing... Then his jealous pets coming out and showing out in public... and with their families with them... I really like Makani she was just so loving and genuine and giving... It was hard not to like her... But for some reason those that she let in always took advantage of her kindness... I love the relationship that she had with Gio... I just hate how she let him manipulate her so easily... She should have just left when she said she was... He really needed to feel the emptiness that he would feel without her since he wanted to stress her out and disappear on her... I mean she did a little something but come on really... That wasn't long enough... In the end everyone got exactly what they deserved... those that deserved happiness got that... Those that thought they were untouchable and just went around doing people wrong... Well karma came for them... So they got what was coming to them... Now to see what other books this author has for me to check out...
Sometimes things happen when you least expect it. That is definitely Gio and Makani because things with them happen way differently than normal. I loved how he just couldn't handle her ghosting him and it had nothing to do with him being possessive or controlling. He liked her and wanted access to her and honestly that's how it sometimes is. He was jealous but not in the way that hurt her now can't say so much about the other person though lol. I don't even know where to start with their sex but it had me leaking. I loved the way he attended to her needs but in the most domineering way. Of course he had his moments but hey we all do. I loved that Kani Baby put her foot down. She let him know how things would go in their relationship and what she wouldn't take. We always learn from out last relationships no matter how bad they were or what made us stay. I was rooting for Piper, I wanted her to be great even if it wasn't with Gio because his true love wasn't her. Too many great parts to review but I will say this was definitely a great read!!!
I was mentioning this author in a group on how she is the master of the age gap genre. I am not usually on board with it but this author has a magical way of bringing class and grace to it having you to swoon when it is all said and done. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I was so happy to see Makani gain both confidence and strength. And Gio...whew...to watch his heart melting for Makani was beautiful to behold. Piper was so sad and I hate she went out the way she did. I thought Reed and Saylor got off too easy. I wished that there was one chapter with Reed's POV. I would have loved to know what his thoughts were especially about losing Makani. That would have been worthwhile to watch his karma unfold. I am about to get this series to keep because it was that good.
I wanted to like Bound By A Gangsta’s Love 2 way more than I did. The story about Makani and Gino was engaging and fun with the best spicy scenes, but I quickly grew bored with the POVs from Eric Carter/Sergio Blackwell and Piper. I wanted to hear more from Reed, Saylor, and Blair. Book 1 was about Makani but Book 2 of the series was more about Gio and I didn’t like that. All in all, though, the story is solid and well written, some of the dialogue was shippable, but for the most part ok. I recommend this series to anyone who likes urban literature and dark romance.

This was worth the wait! It's so much to say about this book. I knew something was up with Sergio, it seemed like crazy ran in his family. This dude had a whole family that he should've been focused on but he out here hell bent on catching Gio to put him in jail. I couldn't believe Piper would stoop that low to try and help him lock up Gio. I guess cocaine is really a helluva drug lol. She should've took the money and got ghost. I'm glad things worked out for Makani ,she deserved everything she got. Reed should've at least got his butt beat up. He did Kani so wrong and treated her like crap. This is a must read! Miss I will always have me as a fan. She's a great storyteller!
Where do I being like old people used to say a man will change for the right woman...
I know it was not traditional the way they met but what's meant will be you can tell Gio was falling hard very quickly it didn't understand at first But once he realizes that when he was away he missed Kani baby it was different from all the rest even love was different from his now deceased wife she knew the rules to this but let her feelings and let detective get in her head the drugs he was out for revenge But both end up dead..
I wish it was more frfr I recommend this Author and books
This series was sitting in my tbr for months and why it’s was good from book 1-2. Makani went through a lot of trauma, physical, and verbal abuse from ex boyfriend, his baby mama, and one biggest betrayal from her so call bff. With this series I laughed, cried, oh I was angry in the first book frfr in the first chapter. Just to read the second and she gets the man of her dreams. Gio is that man how made her love herself again even though he didn’t fully tell her every thing I understand why. Yea Miss. J you wrote the hell of out this series. Don’t be like me go read it if you haven’t already. 10/10 but please read the trigger warnings.
Ok! So this was a very good series. When I tell you I’m so glad that Kani baby got it together, I was so freaking happy. I loved me some Gio, the sex scenes with him and Bella/Kani baby woooooh child. Piper was a hot mess and I honestly can say I didn’t see that ending for her. Eric should’ve listened but oh well. Saylor and Reed got what they deserved I guess. I would’ve like to have read more about Reed getting tortured 😂 I’m just glad that everything worked out for everyone.
When I first started reading this book, I was like oh this is one of those where even 700 pages of them probably wouldn’t be enough. To truly get like 600 pages of this awesome couple has been such an amazing ride. I absolutely adore Giovanni and Kani Baby!!! Ugh they have my heart! And for this to be the last book in me completing your entire catalogue, I’m so happy and impressed. I will be waiting with baited breath for your next releases and you truly have made a fan out of me!! Awesome job!
Reed and Saylor got exactly what they deserved, karma! Makani deserved much better than a so called man and friend like the two of them. Gio was the man to show up after not hearing from her. He went to get what he wanted and didn't care! It was good he was there because he saved her. Piper made a poor judgment call and let it cost her dearly! Gio changed his entire life for Makani because he decided he couldn't be without her! Amazing read, Miss J!!
So wow. Wow. This series was so good! I loved the characters and how they evolved through both books! I loved Gio and Makani! They were so good together and for each other. They way it ended up was exactly how I would have chosen for it to end up. The amazing part is that it did and how they got there. For a while I couldn’t see how she could make it happen. That’s just excellent writing! Great read!!
This book took me on an emotional roller coaster!! Gio was a great man to his wife, but Piper went about what she wanted the wrong way. If she had of been honest with Gio, she may not have met her demise the way she did! Eric or Sergio I knew that he was full of it. He would not even believe anyone that told him that Gio had nothing to do with his sister! Makani had a heart of gold and I am glad that she got the best ending! Excellent read!!!
I don’t know how the author made me see green all through and color blind. I loved the character development so much in this book and the fact that we did not have to dwell on anything that was Makinas past. I also loved the drama that this book brought so much and enjoyed it. I loved Gio and Makina together and how they complimented each other and there was just so much that made me completely hooked. I enjoyed this one I’ll say.
What can I say this is Amazing book It take you through a lot of emotions sad hate Loving laughing Crying And this is my 1st Book to be read by this author I would say that she got a new fan Magnificent work I'll be looking forward to more books from you I recommend his book you won't be Disappointed Alexa who you give us a update of the couple.
Horace Giovanni Mancini is the ultimate book bae!!! This series was everything!! It is definitely getting added to the “read over and over and over” list! Everything about this book was pure 🔥🔥🔥Gio and Makani thoroughly heated up those pages! BRAVO MS. J!! Can’t wait for whatever is next! What’s up with Jenn ans Brown??!! 👀
Nope, I didn't like it. What I didn't like about it. Makani submission to everything. Oh, yeah. I am glad she got the twins. I didn't like that Piper had to die. So basically, I didn't like that Miss J didn't allow Makani and Piper to grow outside the world of Gio
MISS J YOU DID YOUR THING WITH THIS SERIES. I LOVED IT!! MR GIO (MASTER GIO), WHAT A DOMINATE MAN. KANI BABY YOU WENT THROUGH IT WITH MR UNGRATEFUL REED. DARN, IT WAS WORTH THE REAL LOVE THAT WAS IN YOUR PATH. WAITING ON THE NEXT BOOK,🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That's exactly what Makani deserved after all she'd been through in this two book series. Every loose end was addressed albeit, not always to my satisfaction. But overall an entertaining page-turner! Gio was something else too! Now back to finishing up the romance side of this author's catalog.
