FRAGILITY.

Rate this book
My senses are
tender, anemic; I hear the meadows
calling for me. Frailty. Frailty. Frailty.

( F R A G I L I T Y . ) A chapbook of sixteen poems I have written over the course of three years, that speaks of the violent transition from girl to woman, and the cost of becoming one. / by Demi Ev.

I too want to draw somebody in
with pure rage,
raw and cauterizing
as flame. I want to know for a moment only
what it is like to be so violent
yet still desired, yet still so wanted.

This was a quick read.
16 poems.

The thing about a chapbook full of poetry is poems are always a hit and miss. But I'd like to say for anyone looking for a lyrical narration, check this collection out.
Most of the poems are well structured and haunting

My Favourite verses

1
but, unlike the animals,
this is how it goes;
I am devoured
before I am butchered

2
My lover isn't a sculptor
yet I know that he would cover me in plaster
if it meant I would be his forever

3
I want to know for a moment only
what it is like to be so violent

yet still desired, yet still wanted

So if any of these lines strike you 100% check this out!!

Exquisitely captivating. Each poem is better than the last, each brings up a different emotion. While I have some clear favorites (Seeds, On Womanhood, Sculptor.), each and every poem made me feel something, which is what poetry is supposed to do. I am once again blown away by Demi's use of wording and metaphors and how she blends Greek mythology with modern day topics. Truly an engaging piece of work and I cannot wait to read more of Demi's works.
