A YOUNG GIRL IS DEAD, MURDERED AND FOUND IN A DUMPSTER IN A GRIMY BACK ALLEY.
When a thirteen-year-old girl is found murdered in an alley behind an adult video store, small-town Sheriff Ed Dojcsak expects it to be an open and shut case. After all, in a town of less than ten thousand off-season residents how many child killers could there possibly be?
But while the possibilities are limited, the list of reasonable suspects is not. Children are natural-born victims, the canvas upon which big people are capable and only too willing to project their anger, frustration, humiliation, and fear. And the town of Broadmoor Falls has a bleak history of humiliation, murder, and fear. And while long-time residents may hope to forget a past from which no good future has ever come, they are fated to repeat it. Like the irreversible flow of the Hudson River passing downstream and inexorably over the Broadmoor Falls dam. But to alter the future, Ed Dojcsak must revisit and confront a dark past to which he, himself, feels only remotely connected. To protect the lives of the innocent, is Dojcsak willing to risk destroying the lives of the many, including his own?
A REASONABLE SUSPECT is a psychological tour de force, a chilling and sometimes uncomfortable suspense thriller inspired by true crimes.
READ THE DEBUT NOVEL BY THE AUTHOR OF THE CHATTERBOX KILLER Serial Killer Thriller Series, IAN PATTERSON, TODAY!
It’s hard to give a book a good rating when everyone in it is sinful, nasty, selfish, unlikeable and nobody is sorry for anything they did.....just sorry that they got caught. Waste of time.
Jordy Bitson (16) wondered when Aunt Maggie Bitson would report Missy Bitson (13, daughter) missing. Broadmoor. Sheriff Edward “Ed” Dojcsak (husband, Warren County) learned of body of Missy Bitson found in a garbage bin, in the alley behind Exxotica Video. Sheriff Dojcsak, & Deputy Sheriff Sara Pridmore, & Deputy Sheriff Christopher Burke arrived at the crime scene.
Eugene Bitson (father) was being interviewed. Seamus Mcteer (Scottish, 45+, Broadmoor Sentinel-Tribune proprietor/Chief Editor) was taking crime scene photos. Sheriff Dojcsak interviewed Joel Pataki (42, Broadmoor Theater Artistic Director). Aunt Bitson wasn’t shocked that Missy had been having sexual relations. Will the murder crimes be solved & someone be brought to justice for their crimes.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written crime thriller book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

This book was very long on verbage; it took almost 3 paragraphs to describe a large theatre. Everything had to be described and over described which accounted for the 9 hr reading estimate. It took me less than that by a few hours, but it still was very long. I wanted to know who was really murdering young girls.
I suspected the sheriff had some part in selling porn pictures, but when I reached the end, I shook my head in disbelief.
It was really an awful book. It was a freebie and I always suspect those, but many of them are very good books. Just to be on the safe side, I went thru my kindle and deleted all books by this author.
I found myself continuously confused by the flipping between now and then. Also the characters were sometimes referred to by just the first name then later with just the last name often without it being clear they were the same person(s). This is why I give it just a 3 rating.
I struggled with this book for some reason. It is a complex novel but good at the same time. Many back stories from the main characters but you do not expect the ending. You have to concentrate to keep all of the main characters in focus because of what this story is about.
A tough read because of the sad lives depicted. Surprise twist ending. The title is spot on but the story moves very slowly. There were many factual errors too. It's I-90 not I-95 that connects Syracuse with Utica. I grew up there. Also opaque is not the same as translucent. Several others too.
