Thank you for reading my bio and my books! I live and work in Dallas, TX. I'm the mother of two amazing daughters and two fantastic, intelligent grandsons, with one more on the way, and a wonderful son-in-law. I love to cook, travel, and write, but I'm also an avid reader. Being from a military family, my books often center around strong, military men but I also LOVE strong, independent, intelligent women. Although I appreciate some people don't read books in series order, I didn't feel it was necessary to repeat a large section of the previous book.
From the number of books published by the author, I assumed her books were either edited by an outside company, or at the very least a few beta readers to catch any errors. However errors such as Doc laying Grace on the bed, should have set off alarm bells ringing as, Grace married Ghost in book one and Doc actually laid Bree on the bed.
Okay, first, the first 30 percent of this book was redundant. No need to recap that much of the first book. Yes it was overlay with what happened to Doc and Bree in Ghost, but really unnecessary. The story was good, but the errors in this book were glaringly obvious. Proofreading sucked. I waited to write this after I started number 3, yep, recap, again. Not needed, albeit not as bad in Whiskey as this one. No flow from one character to another in some places, wrong names used, confusing at times. Again, proofreading would have fixed a lot of what is wrong. Story was good and the only reason I kept going.
This one went from a couple meeting, finding that spark and going after it to so much more. Bree and Doc were cute in how awkward they were, but once they both stated they were interested and fate threw they together that was it, it was a done deal they were a couple. Too bad that bad people started to interfere and Bree was forced to face her past that could have been so much worse if a kind soul wouldn't have looked out for her.
The last part was heartbreaking! I hated how the girls were, but also loved that they stuck together and did the hard thing and then took a chance on trusting the adults that were there to help them. It made for a great ending for them all.

Book two deals with two people who don't know how to be in a relationship. At the end of book one Jack "Doc" Harris former Army Ranger met Dr Aubrey Collins and was instantly smitten. But due to being raised by religious zealots he has no idea how to ask her for a date. Thankfully although shy herself Bree asks him to a convention in Canada dealing with abuse.
This is the beginning of another wild ride with some seriously disturbing trafficking scenes. But all will be well at the end. This Free Kindle Unlimited series continues as it started with more emotion, more terror, and much more love.
So far I'm really enjoying this series. I read the first book for Ghosts story. I did notice there was quite a bit of repetition. I thought that was good as sometimes you forget parts of the story before and wonder what the neck you've missed. I do wish whoever could've proofread a bit better and corrected the mistakes instead of copying them into the story. I really enjoy this series. In fact I enjoyed this so much that instead of sleeping at night, I spent my sleepless night ready about Doc and the gang. Tonight will be Whiskeys story.
I am not sure how to react to this book. While I know child trafficking is happening in the country I don't expect to read extensively about it in what is supposed to be a romance novel. I cried a lot . Not what I want to be doing when I'm looking for a distraction from my pain. The detail of some of the abuse is crushing and may cause some triggers so consider carefully. I like the characters of the first two books and like the different take on MC culture. Does have HEA for the couples in the series. Not so much for some of the children
Loved this story was crying for some parts of it. Just a minor thing on one of chapter 47 the first few lines you wrote that grace had fallen asleep in the car so doc carried her to bed (but grace is married to ghost). I know it was meant to be bree. I taught I’d just let you, just incase someone asks about it. Other then that I truly love your stories some with the amount of emotions, energy and time put in your story. I even had happy tears at some parts. Can’t wait to read the rest of these ones
This one has a romance between a biker who was a medic..nurse..and PA. He meets a psychologist lady and it develops into more? The club helps abused women and finds they have a lot of missing girls. The club is on a mission amidst the blossoming romance. It is exciting, filled with intrigue, little sadness, drama and retribution. It totally kept me glued to the story. Enjoy. HEA, no cliffhanger, no cheating. There is a running theme to destroy the traffickers.
Another fantastic read about a group of Patriots, a Brotherhood of bikers, real men fighting the good fight against sex trafficking, kidnapping, paedophiles and the like. Strong alpha males who know what they want, and the sometimes damaged women the come to love. Thoroughly enjoyable characters with an interesting storyline, books you won't want to put down once you start, well worth your time to read.
It seems I am the only person who is gobsmacked that the first 14 chapters of this book is basically from the previous book. To the point where there are pages that are cut and paste!. This is not good writing. This is blatant stuffing of a book. This would have been a good book if I didn't have to wade through 14 chapters of pretty much drivel. When the actual story started it was good. Now, Im all for filling in readers of the back story but that was taking it too far.
This book was just ok for me. It deals with human trafficking which is never an easy topic. However, when an author writes on a topic they should do basic research. The author repeatedly refers to the RCMP as the CMP. A small mistake maybe, but it makes me question everything else. That being said I like the characters & the romance part of the plot (even though it too has many holes) & i like the cast of characters as well.
This book is not for the squeamish, it's unfortunately a lot of child pornography and it's written way to casually. The depravity of the abuse is sickening. I had to skip the most graphic parts. The sad part is it's a good series with good writing, just very misdirected. I'm going to read the next one and hope our author finds the error in her beliefs that child abuse, and child porn in some way are sexy fun, romantic reading.
It was a great love story but also enlightening to the human trafficking problem. This book opened my eyes and made me glad I didn't have children to worry about that. But then with everything a child has to be worried about these days this is among the saddest. I truly hope there are really people out there working against them. I will have my eyes open for it.
I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed it. This was a book of betrayal, manipulation, compassion, and being true to yourself. I was so glad Doc and Bree got together. I believe they both was a little shy. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance readers and MC lovers.
Yes yes yes!!! I absolutely LOVED Doc's book, him and his little firey redhead we're amazing together. I also love how the epilogue always gives us an inclination into the next book, it keeps me coming back for more and now i can't wait to start book 3. This is my new addiction and I'm not mad at it, at all
Writing is solid but the wither needs to stop repeating word what happens with the upcoming story from the previous book. We meet Doc and Bree in Ghost’s story and for the first 13. Chapters in Doc author repeats what we read in Ghost. Very frustrating. After I got past that the book was pretty good. I hope this does not happen in the next book in the series. I think Whiskey is up next.
I’m enjoying this series, the storyline is pretty good and I like the characters a lot. The writing is still a bit choppy with some plot holes but a little bit smoother than the first book. I felt the retelling of the last book went on way too long though. A couple paragraphs would have caught people up instead of a dozen plus chapters.
I liked this book even better than book 1. A few transitional fixes where we know scenes change are my only complaint. Storyline is great. Live that the way the author is seeing the books up is like making the story a continuation. However, not a fan of reading parts of each book in the next book.
I didn’t think this book would be just as good as Book 1, it wasn’t … it was, in its own way, uniquely different and extremely good. I could not put it down ! I’m not one to discuss plots/characters/action in a review… and I’m not going to start now (!) suffice to say that I’m now tired, hungry and need to give my eyeballs a rest……… Very highly recommended x
Approximately the first 25% of the book was from the first book in the series, Ghost. I realize this may have been done so this book could be a standalone. But, the whole point of a series is to read all of the books. It's a smack in the face for those of us who read the first book.
so I read ghost....and snagged Doc....jeepers. Action, love, evil, and adventure. I can't wait for the next one. This one kept me on my toes and biting my nails. Loved it
This story was FANTASTIC,Awesome, exciting, entertaining and just plain freaking AWESOME!!!!. Mary is a FANTASTIC storyteller and PHENOMENAL writer!!!. Can't wait to continue reading this series😎😍.
I started this series on new years day 2021 and I am already fixing to start the 3rd book , I love when a mc is all ex-military and fight for the good , Doc and Bree helping her past and the future of all these little girls
Recently found this series, and glad I did. This is about Doc and Bree - they make such a cute couple. I like the fact that these couples are in their 40’s instead of 20’s. This story deals with sex trafficking of really young girls, so might be a trigger for some people.
Bree and Doc are an amazing couple. Both with lots of medical training in separate fields. Hers is psychological and his is physical health. They both live to help people and now themselves as well.
The Steel Patriots have found their side as protectors, and this time, they do more than they expect. Young girls stolen, betrayals, vengeance, and a new love. Doc Harris, medic, nurse and PA, meets lovely psychotherapist Bree, and they find love.
Reading this story was like watching an action movie, it had me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next! I have a new favorite author in Mary Kennedy!
This one was tough to read. But highly enjoyable. This series is almost as good as the Reaper security series. I read them first which is what I recommend. Then my seal boys series with REAPER Patriots last. Enjoy!
