JACLYN: When my dad died ten years ago, I promised my mom that I wouldn't leave her. I'm not a teenager any more, I'm a grown woman, and sometimes I itch for my own family. My own life. But I worry about Mom. When the air-conditioning goes wonky at Mom's house, my brother gets a buddy of his to come fix the heat pumps, and I'm instantly attracted. One hot night at his place, and I can't get enough of Quinn. But he doesn't understand why I need to stay with my mother.
QUINN: When my friend Jesse asks me to fix his mom's heat pumps, I'm happy to do it. I'm even happier to meet his stunning, curvy sister Jaclyn. We hit it off right away, and one incredible night together tells me this is the only woman for me. But she's not willing to break away from her old life to start a new one with me. Will Jaclyn's worry for her mother keep us apart -- or will love come to our rescue?

Jaclyn is stuck in a bad and unusual situation with her mother, a situation which should have been immediately handled by professionals. Due to Jaclyn’s father having had a fatal fall from a roof, her mother has become frightened, anxious, and emotionally clingy toward her children. Her brother, Jesse, escapes from the situation when he moves out. But Jaclyn doesn’t feel she can leave her mother alone and basically gives up her own life and needs to stay at home.
When the heat pump in his mom’s house needs repair, Jesse asks his friend, Quinn, if he can take a look at it. Quinn and Jaclyn are immediately attracted to each other when they meet. But she still doesn’t seem willing to break away from her old life of being there for her mother to start a new one for herself. Jaclyn will have to make a choice between a life with the man she loves or getting help for her mother who needs a resolution to her debilitating dependency issues. Will Jaclyn allow her worry for her mother to kill any future of her own? Or will she get her mother professional help that may allow her mom to regain some comfort in her own life?
I really like how the books in this series all deal with real-life situations and problems and have individuals having to deal with them as best they know how! Quinn meets Jaclyn (who is the sister of Jesse the H in the previous book of this series) when he is at the home she is sharing with her mother to check out the heat pump. There is an instant attraction between them but Jaclyn feels that she needs to stay at home to support her emotionally frail mother who has become increasingly needy and insecure after the death of her father. Especially since Jesse had already moved out after becoming engaged. Quinn is very supportive of Jaclyn and he gently guides Jaclyn to see that her mother is in need of more professional help which will not only benefit her mother but will also allow Jaclyn to be able to look forward to seeing a future for the two of them. This author does a wonderful job of bringing us stories with believable issues that most readers will be able to relate to and manages to do so within the space of a quick lunch hour time frame!

This is a short instalove story. It was a quick, enjoyable read. This is the first book I've read from this author but I’m planning on checking out their other books.
Jaclyn meets Quinn when he comes over to fix her heat pump that’s on the fritz. Quinn is her brother Jessie’s friend. The attraction is instant for both of them and they agree to go out on a date. Quinn believes that Jaclyn is the woman for him, but she’s stuck at home staying with her mom. Jaclyn chooses her mom over Quinn whom she barely knows. Her mom has severe mental illness that keeps Jaclyn tied to the house with her mom. She hasn’t been the same since her husband died 10 years ago. She’s used her kids as an unhealthy crutch to deal with her overwhelming anxiety. Can Jaclyn get her mom the help she needs to allow her to have a life and try again with Quinn?

Quinn and Jaclyn are an interesting read. We were introduced to Jaclyn in the previous book, and the unusual situation with her mother. Due her father's fatal fall from a roof, Jaclyn's mother is fretful, anxious, and clingy. Unfortunately, Jaclyn has seen what ignoring this behavior can lead to, and so has become an enabler to her mother's behavior. Meeting Quinn, a friend of her brother's, makes her want to break from the prison her life has become. Quinn is loving and strong, and he wants much ore than a few stolen moments with the woman he loves; So Jaclyn has a choice, the man she loves or the mother who will be destroyed if she follows her heart. Despite some heavy material, this is a fun book to read. Sweet and sexy, this fast story is well worth your time. Happy Reading!

It is instant attraction for Quinn and Jaclyn. However, Jaclyn has to help with her mom. This may cause her her own HEA. The characters have chemistry. The story is short read. I feel sorry for Jesse and Jaclyn mom because that is no way for anyone to live.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this quick story about Jaclyn and Quinn. She loves with her mom and brother, Jesse. Jesse is planning on moving out and their mom is freaking out. Ever since her dad died, her mom is kind of clingy. Jesse calls his buddy Quinn to look at the heat pump at the house. Quinn sees Jaclyn and he knows she's the one for him. But with Jaclyn dealing with her mom they have to put any kind of relationship in hold. Great HEA in the end.

The author has returned us to the Adams family where Jesse is getting ready to move into a place of his own. However, when a HVAC tech is called for the heat pump, Jackie and Quinn meet and feel an instant attraction. Will they be able to have each other or will Jackie be stuck taking care of her anxiety ridden mother?

Quinn and Jaclyn fall in love instantly and they make a great couple. The book revolves around her and her moms emotional issues. They could have been developed a lot better. The story was good but felt quite rushed. This could have been more interesting but it brought emotional issues that just instantly solved themselves. Love the characters but the story is lacking.

Nice short read of Quinn finding love with Jesse. Enjoyed this short story of dealing with loss and loved ones with illness, I liked the way it was portrayed and how it was handled by those who care. I thought it was very understanding of Quinn in how he gave Jesse time to make her decision, no pressure other than he would be waiting for her.

This was a short story tackling an often taboo subject: mental illness in the family. Easy to see how the family dynamics were dysfunctional. The author very nicely used a combination of two therapies to help. Don’t know how, but through the writing, the reader sees the beginning of a relationship that could have been doomed from the start. This book is deeper than most novellas and packs a wallop.

I was so glad to read Jackie's story because I had an idea her mother's detachment issues were affecting her to become the same. She was going in that direction. Even after meeting Quinn, Jackie still couldn't bring herself to leave her afraid she'd hurt herself. Quinn was quite a guy. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens. It's really a good book. :)
A sweet and sexy romance that gives readers everything they want and need in a HEA romance. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quick, sexy feel-good story. Can’t wait to read the next book by this author. Bring on the next book please. Happy reading everyone!

I loved Quinn and his understanding, sweetness, and love. I was frustrated with Jackie and Jesse at different points because of their mom. The story is light but does deal with a real issue and showcases how it can affect more than one person. In the end I had a big smile on my face.
Loved this story about Quinn and Jaclyn. Another amazing read in this series. Their connection is instant. We were introduced to Jaclyn in the previous story and this is her journey to love. A short and sweet read. I am enjoying this series.
Jaclyn and Quinn meet when he's at her house doing work. That first look was like a wake up call and she begins to wonder if she can let him into her heart and be there for her mother.
I enjoyed Quinn & Jaclyn's book. This was an emotional read for me. Good characters. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Jaclyn is tethered to her mom who has suffered from crippling anxiety since her husband's accidental death ten years earlier. When their A/C goes on the fritz, Jaclyn's brother Jesse arranges for a friend of his to come take a look. Quinn and Jackie are both smitten from the moment their eyes meet.
This is a short, sweet instalove romance with just enough tension to keep the reader on the edge.
