The reader cannot help but feel empathy for what Drake is going through. He is suffering with PTSD, complicating it with alcohol, and is really struggling to adjust. His lack of sound sleep has made him often late for work, with only an understanding boss keeping him from losing his job. He cares about Rebecca and wants to be able to move forward with her. Rebecca too wants the best for him, and things are spiraling downward.
Drake just isn’t doing well and Rebecca finally has a serious talk with him about seeing a therapist. He naturally turns to his old Army buddies for guidance through this. Will he be able to get his life back on track? Will he and Rebecca have their HEA?

Drake Scott is suffering from crippling nightmares and panic attacks from his time as a medic in the Iraqi war.
Rebecca is Drake's high school sweetheart who waited for him to return from Iraq and she is his lifeline during his attacks.
While I have enjoyed the M.E.D.I.C.S. series by Pandora Snow, Drake is not my favorite. I don't know enough about his nightmares or panic attacks to have empathize. I wanted to go more in depth. Rebecca also lacks the depth to make her a well rounded character. I didn't feel her struggle or frustration when dealing with Drake.
This series pulls the other medic brothers in for support. I miss the rapport between the men that was present in the other stories.
The bare bones of the story does exist but I would definitely like for the story to be filled out more. There is so much that is glossed over and it needs more. I have loved the series so far, I just want more development of the characters.
Another great story! This is book 3 in the series but could be a standalone book as well. Drake’s suffering from extreme PTSD from his time in Iraq but has the loving support of his long-time girlfriend Rebecca. From the crippling nightmares to the panic attacks, he realizes it’s time to get some help. He is doing good and going in the right direction. Then Rebecca tells him she’s pregnant and things start to unravel. And in true man fashion, instead of being honest with her about what’s going on in his life, he lies trying to protect her so she doesn’t stress. He needed to reconnect with his squad brothers and get some sense in him to realize he’s messing up at home. True love prevails and Rebecca was right to demand honesty from Drake. Having the love and support of her parents also makes their love story extra special. Looking forward to reading more about them as they will be closer to the squad and mentioned in books to come. I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

Drake is book 3 in the M.E.D.I.C.S series. This one can be read without reading books 1 and 2.
Slight spoiler if you haven't read Everett yet:
The one thing that got me was that Drake's story starts from before what we already saw in Everett- book 2. So, I knew at some point Drake was going to visit Everett. This made me wait for the shoe to drop on Drake's happiness- I knew something had to happen. Just didn't know what. I don't think this negatively impacted the story. I think it might have just been a bigger shock.
I enjoyed the story and how it is told entirely from Drake's perspective. There were 2 spots where I sat back and went "would they really say that?"
Otherwise, I have thought the story was good and quick read. I am enjoying the series and am looking forward to book 4 - Ian.

I read an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Drake and Rebecca are together forever. He is the only one of the group who hasn't stayed in touch with the others. He struggles with alcohol abuse and when his girlfriend asks for a break and leaves their house, he reaches out to his friend Everett, only to almost cause the friend to lose his girlfriend Michelle.
After saving his Everett's father and apologizing to Michelle for his behavior, he gets his act together so that he may get back together with the love of his life.
A story of struggle, overcoming PTSD and alcohol abuse, friendship and all consuming love...

This series keeps getting better. This is book four in the M.E.D.I.C.S series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I think they are more enjoyable when read in order.

Story worth tease. Warning does include sexual acts
This is one of a collection of stories of military medics trying to adjust back into civilian life. It tells of their struggles and loses. Drake is suffering from PTSD, the nightmares, the panic attacks. He loses his job and his girlfriend asks for a break. He goes to Everrit a fellow get whom he had been avoiding. Will his friend be able to help him to get him to thinking cleared. Will his girlfriend forgive him and will they be able to go forward with their once future plans. Great book of hope.
While I enjoyed this book, I found it to be so realistic and depressing. Drake suffers from PTSD, nightmares and panic attacks. He keeps making bad choices and is not coping well. His girlfriend, Rebecca, loves him, stands by him and does her best for him. We all need to appreciate our service men and women. Thank them for their service. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is another sweet and enjoyable story in the MEDICS series. These are great short stories, which all relate to each other, and really help to drive home the problems and challenges that soldiers face when they return to civilian life and the struggles they have to overcome to readjust.

This was a short and sweet romance. I enjoyed this story as the characters were relatable and the story line was well written. Drake was dealing with a lot and Rebecca was doing her best to support him. With a little bit of extra help from his army buddies and Rebecca's parents Drake was able to find the support he needed to get his life back on track. Great read. Excited for the rest of the series.
Great read with well developed characters and storyline. Pandora again includes real world factors that affect our veterans in this love conquering romance. Kudos MS. Snow.
Rebecca- an intelligent well rounded woman who loves unconditionally.
Drake- a combat medic who is back from a 4 year t.o.d in Iraq. Suffering with PTSD is throwing his life into a tailspin.
Can Rebecca's unconditional love and his squad brothers support help bring Drake back to the life path he desires?
What an incredible story of emotional and loving support from his fellow soldiers. This is what kept Drake going as well as the love and support from Rebecca. PTSD is not a visible condition but can wreak havoc with ones mental health and needs to be understood by friends and family to help one to overcome the issues.
This is a story full of love, it is sweet, sexy, sad and hopeful. It is about life, family, friends, love ones, acceptance, forgiveness and knowing when to lean on others for help and support.
