Death of a loved one. A layoff. A broken relationship. Life changes in a nanosecond when storms sweep in, often without warning. With minds barely able to think clearly, we often set our Bible aside. However, in reality, that's when we need its comfort and strength most. This devotional is written for those longing for hope, but are lacking the ability to focus on a lengthy Scripture passage.

Easy-to-Use Format for Even the Busiest People This Christian book contains 90 devotions. Each day's entry follows a simple pattern:

Key Verse Pause (short devotion) Ponder (application question or action step) Pray (short prayer) Relevant quote 3 Key Benefits of Finding Hope in Crisis Devotional by Grace Fox Whether this is for you, a loved one, a friend at church, neighbor, or coworker, this book is for those who are in crisis. Crisis looks different for everyone. For some, it means facing the fallout of betrayal or divorce. For others, it means a cancer diagnosis, the death of a loved one, experiencing job loss or home foreclosure, or watching an adult child make choices that carry lifelong consequences. Some would say that hitting a relationship roadblock with a friend or family member constitutes crisis, while others would say it's losing their family pet.

Regardless, their greatest need is hope. They need reassurance that God's love will never let them go, His presence will never leave them, and His strength will carry them through. Finding Hope in Crisis addresses these needs as follows:

Its overall message directs their minds to God's character and promises. These bite-sized bits of truth will feed their soul and give them the strength and encouragement needed for that day. Its devotions are short enough to read and keep their focus even when their minds are on overload. Its relevant quotes reinforce the day's teaching to help them remember that particular truth. A wonderful little devotional that I think many could benefit from as our world seems to have gone crazy. Each day begins with a bible scripture relevant to that day's devotion, then a little story where that scripture is illustrated, followed by a thought to ponder, a little prayer and ending with a quote from another Christian author/speaker.
I found the book to be encouraging and inspiring and would recommend to anyone needing some encouragement.
I received this book in a giveaway-- my thanks to the author & publisher!

This book of devotions was sent to me by my son-in-law's aunt. I read at least one chapter each day. The chapters are divided in this way: Pause, Ponder, and Pray.

Here's an example of the book's format, using Chapter One:

Pause: The author, Grace Fox, uses the song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy" to demonstrate the steps that we all need to take to overcome worry with positive distraction, prayer, and gratitude.

Next, in the Ponder step, she asks, "What can you thank God for in the midst of your crisis?"

Finally, she offers this prayer: "Father, please give me the ability to follow your solution so that I might experience your peace."

I am finding this book of daily reflections to be invaluable as I learn to accept my diagnosis and treatments. With thanks to dear Beverly!!

This is a nonfiction devotional, with each part consisting of a Bible verse, a relevant lesson told as a short real-life story, a question to ask yourself, and a quote from another Christian author.

It is a great book to help anybody through these tough times, and was exactly what I needed. It is a true blessing.

I don't think there is anyone in 2020 and even into 2021 who didn't feel some angst. Grace takes us past the angst and into peace in her little daily nuggets. Simple but complex. Personal stories. Quotes. Scriptures. Prayer. We can even think over what we have read and apply it to our daily lives.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVE this new devotional book by Grace Fox. It is so relevant to the times we’re living in today, and every day’s devotion speaks to my heart right where I am. I love Grace’s transparency as she shares her own struggles, but she always points us to the Word and to Jesus. I love the way she divides each day with a Scripture, thoughts about it, and then personal application and prayer. She closes each day with a quote that ties in with the Scripture for that day. They’re short, but powerful devotions that make me think and lead me to prayer and reflection. One of my favorite devotional books! I highly recommend it.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the book from the publisher for the purpose of reviewing it. The opinions I have expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a positive review.
