This heartfelt love letter to the bond between mothers and sons is one of the wisest yet deepest hitting children’s books I’ve ever read. Going through this last night with my son and wife was just straight tear jerking and I can only imagine what my wife felt in having it more focused on her on top of it all. This isn’t a short read, but worth every minute and every word for the parents just as much as for the children reading along. What a fantastic example of what a heartfelt children’s book can be, and I’m looking forward to hunting down the father counterpart book and seeing if it’s just as well put together. 4.75/5

I have now read all but one in this series, because I didn’t know it existed. They all are sweet and heartwarming with gorgeous illustrations and rhyming prose.

A wonderful message

The truth about the bond a mother and child share is immeasurable, but this book comes very close to touching the edge of that. It sends a beautiful message that all sons should hear from their mothers.
